  1. Hey there! My name is Alex (aka "Sevrah") - I'm a college student currently residing in Hartford Connecticut. I recently announced my game project "Catalyst" and am now opening for recruitment. Some are much more in demand than others, these will be labeled with a [High Prio] tag. [Roles] Voice Actors [Low Prio] Proof Readers [Medium Prio] Beta Testers, Quality Control [Low Prio] Mappers/Eventers/Troubleshooters [High Prio] Programmers [High Prio] Environment Designers [Low Prio] Pixel Artists [Medium Prio] What about any further details for the positions? Specific responsibilities? Proof Readers analyze, revise, and improve the written in-game dialogue script. Found something that could be improved? Great! Have some of your own ideas? Even better! It's a lengthly document with 12 chapters and cinematics, typically you're free to choose a specific chapter and put your editorial emphasis on those specific segments of dialogue. Beta Testers help playtest set parts of the game that are complete or near complete. It is your mission to eradicate all those pesky bugs that slip through the cracks with ease! Iron out capital cities, test boss encounters, even submit your own suggestions. Eventers go hand in hand with Beta Testers and with Programmers. Due to the lengthy amount of time that I have to spend on things outside of the game engine, my focus on things like elaborate script complications are limited -- Having a spot-fixer, someone to diagnose tedious but sudden client problems is always a huge boon. This isn't a major role, and can be given alongside others. -- Also, this role can cover misc things like social media management, forum moderation, changelog & release management. Pixel Artists help design the in-game character sprites for play. Voice Actors, Environment Designers are self-explanatory. Programmers are mainly a future focus. What can I get out of this? All volunteers will receive a free, full copy of the game once it's released (steam CD-key) as well as a mention in the credits (located on the website, game files and endgame credits) Pixel Artists, Programmers, and Eventer positions are potentially paid; based on a number of factors (volume of work, art commissions) it can be something I pay you for. Voice Actors are mostly volunteer, however for characters who have comprehensive sets of voice work and characters that appear in future installments, payment is applicable. I'm here to announce a massive project that has been in the works for a very long time.. Some quick things to know about me: I'm a very busy person and am travelling a lot; while I can find the time to get well over 35-40+ hours of development work a week into the game, it's usually within the same consecutive 3-4 days (typically weekends). So please know that communication may be slow during the other half of the week. I am pleased to officially announce: Catalyst "Legends Never Die" Since March 2015, I have been putting my heart and soul into this. I'm investing many thousands of my own dollars to commission game art assets. Countless hours of hard work and many sleepless nights has brought me to where I am now -- and I still have a decently long way to go! This thread will serve as one of my informational hubs; I'll be updating this as well as my website with the most up-to-date news & announcements. The first Catalyst installment is "Catalyst I: Flight of the Awakened", it's the story of two siblings (a brother and sister) who together, join the unilateral resistance-effort following an invasion of their homeland. First things first, I'm always open for store NPC characters. Below is a sample key of some general guidelines: Also the example lines I list there are just general ideas, feel free branch off in your own way as long as they follow the same general structure. Store types - Weapons, Armor, General Goods (Greeting) Hello there! Interested in some <store type> (i.e. Greetings, champions. Would you be interested in some weaponry?) (Comment) We only stock the highest quality <store type> (i.e. Our armor is of the highest quality, we only stock the finest items, etc) (Goodbye) (i.e. Be safe, heroes, safe travels!, etc) Here's a sizable set of medium-range characters who still need voices. Just an example though, there's still plenty of other low/medium supportive roles remaining. Honestly, if you send me an audition I'd be pretty certain that there's a solid fit. Spektral - (Duskweaver Class Commander) - A lonesome and shy Duskweaver, Spektral has a very dark past. He was separated from his parents after the Dawnpaw Division only to see them executed before his very eyes. His unmatched willpower and perseverance were the main reasons he was selected for the commander position. Any more details? | Story-driven, turn-based cinematic RPG in the same light as something like Final Fantasy. What platforms can I play this on? | Windows initially, though I can confirm support for Mac, iOS, and Android in the future for at least later installments/updates. When will it come out? | While I cannot provide a specific release timetable, I will say that the development cycle has been moving smoothly & at a pleasantly fast pace. Things are going phenomenally. It could be as early as 5 months or as late as 16 months; I’m not making any promises until I know for sure. I beat the game. Now what? | After the main game story has been completed a solid amount of post-game content will open up. Kickstarter?
