    Crafting System

I try to make my scripts compatible with Yanfly's, because he's a bro. So if they aren't, tell me and I'll fix them sooner or later. Can't promise anything for Victor's but it should work with most of his stuff.

    Crafting System

Sounds like Atelier Totori's synthesis system, in which case I've made a script for it in 2011: http://grimoirecastle.wordpress.com/2011/12/08/alchemic-synthesis-go-go-totori/ It's considered to be the most powerful crafting script available but also the most complicated, so beware.
  4. Nothing prevents you to use the RTP audio from previous versions. Also, you might be interested in knowing that a remastered RM 95 soundtrack is on sale now. There are three reasons why you'll never see a side-view system by default ever again. First is, front-view is actually popular, especially in Japan, which is the program's main target audience. Second reason is the ease of modification. The default battle system is very bare-bones, hardly more than a text-based battle with minimal visual elements. It's because of this simplicity you can see so many different battle systems made by scripters. It's much easier to add options than remove unneeded junk and the more complex the built-in systems are, the more unneeded junk you'll find. Third reason is a matter of graphical resources. Side-view is very sprite-intensive. It's easy to find one static front view battler and put it in a game. It's much more complicated to sprite a complete animation sheet for side view and definitely beyond the majority of user's abilities. Licensing a bunch of side view sprites would also cost much more to Enterbrain. Now, you might say "just use charsets and static enemies". Well, no. There's such a thing as consistency, and the "easy way" is definitely not something to put in the core engine. RPG Maker, by default, has the goal to provide the basics of a RPG. A crafting system isn't something to be considered 'basic' and there are many possible interpretations of what a crafting system should be. This is the kind of system users will make scripts for anyways, so it's useless to include it. tl;dr Eb! provides you an engine with the basic RPG elements. Making the game unique and sophisticated is the developer's job. YOUR job.

Need a mod to close this tread.

There was neither drama neither flaming. But I guess it feels nice to play the victim when people say things you don't want to hear...

Kickstarter isn't a Donate button man. Backers are investing on your game, they want results; the money isn't for YOU.

    Kread-EX - Animated Battlers Problem?

No, the "hit" animation is for when you get hit.

    Kread-EX - Animated Battlers Problem?

I'm not sure I understand your question. There's already an animation for getting hit.

    Kread-EX - Animated Battlers Problem?

Animation frames can be tricky to set. In the example video, I was using Ace Battle Engine (which raises the animation speed) and every animation frame was duplicated to avoid going too fast. But it also depends of what kind of battlers you are using and all. There's only trial and error for this.

    Kread-EX - Animated Battlers Problem?

You need to put <move_to_target> in the skill's notebox if you want the user to move at the target.

    Kread-EX - Animated Battlers Problem?

It's a script designed for full animation, not just the actors. I guess I could add some failsafe method to avoid crashing when you configure it wrong though. I'll work on it sooner or later.

    Kread-EX - Animated Battlers Problem?

Your actor setup seems ok. Possibly your enemy setup is at fault here.

    Files corrupted, help please >_>

Map 7 made the editor crash entirely (memory error) but it's possible it only happens under certain conditions. I don't really know I'm afraid.

    Files corrupted, help please >_>

Ok, I finished. This MapInfos should work (it did during my tests) https://dl.dropbox.com/u/52061415/MapInfos.rvdata2 Maps 1 and 7 were corrupted though. Side note: MapInfos only stores the tree structure (in the editor) so your maps work even without it. In your case, you also had corrupted maps though :/

    Files corrupted, help please >_>

EDIT: Wait, I just noticed that some your maps are also corrupted. Oh boy. This is why it doesn't work. Leave me a while, I'll try to salvage what can be salvaged.

    Files corrupted, help please >_>

It should have created a MapInfos file in your new project folder. This is the one you need to replace the corrupted file with.

    Files corrupted, help please >_>

Checked your demo. CommonEvents, Scripts and System are done for. They're just null bytes, nothing can be done to retrieve the contents. MapInfos doesn't really store critical information, so try this: http://grimoirecastle.wordpress.com/2012/12/30/repair-mapinfos/ And don't forget: MAKE BACKUPS.

    RGSS3 is terrible?

Why would you say that? I thought it was a nice script. You said this on your site. Which means, with RGSS3, making a Song Magic option for Yanfly's Ace Battle Engine, and make it compatible with Symphony, Victor's Animated Battlers and my own animated battlers. Nothing more. It was a bad script I don't support anymore and is only available on my site so people won't bug me with it. I agree with Victor's post as well.

    RGSS3 is terrible?

If someone, anyone, dares convert my shitty Ar Tonelico script for Ace, I'll commit suicide by watching 300 episodes of Naruto in a row. RGSS3 is vastly superior to RGSS2 and especially RGSS1. Just because we aren't remaking the exact same stuff doesn't mean it's bad. It means we're writing different scripts, better scripts. Not huge messes that break compatibility with everything else, but smaller, more compatible scripts. It also means you need to pick more carefully and combine what you really need instead of plugging something because it looks cool.

  24. This topic cruelly lacks likes. kal basically explains how to debug and affect directly via Ruby command lines your game, and in real-time at that. This is THE thing everybody should use to maximize testing and debugging efficiency.
  25. You know kal, you're very good at explaining things (unlike me) and reading your posts is always a pleasure. Just wanted to say that.
