Single Status Update
I actually wonder how well RM could handle the background work of drawing graphical objects like those you see in pretty much any rhythm game, especially games where there could be a lot of notes being drawn moving from the background forward...

I did see some stepmania stuff in Ace some years ago.
This has 3D rendering and 3D is not something for Ace. There were few attempts at making 3D stuff there and I don't recall any successes, other than some pseudo 3D stuff with limited effects and not-the-best performance (correct me if I'm wrong). At that point a way better option is to switch to another engine. I've been doing a lot of science in Ace, but now this is an overkill.
However, that pseudo 3D could work there I suppose, it wouldn't be as nice and smooth as there, but that still would be cool as far as Ace is concerned.
I actually wonder if this type of thing could be done with just Mode 7-like capabilities, though.
(When the Blitz meter fills as seen in the video it goes into a Mode-7 like rotation too)
As far as Stepmania goes, I know little about it other than it falls under the DDR scene.
