Remaking classic JRPGs like Chrono Trigger? A tremendous feat that would be to be done with an engine like RM.
Would be no less of an undertaking than that of Daggerfall Unity, or FFVI Brave New World...

What @Kayzee says is true, although I will say that a lot of public plugins already exist for MV that would segue the process quite a bit. More importantly, however, it's not near enough on its own to get it to point of remake. Most of the above mentioned plugins really just emulate what was there, sometimes just to a degree.
I'm the same as Kayzee as far as the effort required meaning it's better to just make your own game, but that's just my opinion. I hear what you're saying, though @PhoenixSoul. It makes sense, and to counter all my own arguments, a remake of any kind is always gonna be this much effort, so really.... we're all right... and.... we're all wrong.
How can that be?
Wait, what's happening? I'm in an old black and grey tube television? Oh....no, is this the end of a Twilight Zone episode???
"A user who spoke of a remake, and a man who sought to remake arguments themselves. A portrait of a practice in futility. One in which the painter has trapped themselves. Just another frame in a never ending hallway, in an undiscovered wing of - the Twilight Zone."

Hehe, right and wrong are like up and down, left and right, or ana and kata. It depends on what way you are facing. :3
BTW, this status seems to be referencing this thread and one thing I noticed is that the OP didn't actually state that they wanted to do a remake, just that they loved the battle system and wanted to know if it was possible in XP.
