  1. The tornado that tore arse through Andover, the storm began its' life over Haysville, where I currently reside. Can you imagine, having something like that happening so nearby...

      Kayzee

      Yikes! Glad you are okay!

EF3 damage, twenty-one miles in length. To boot, the tornado moved at a snail's pace, 20 mi/h / 32 km/h. It wasn't the only tornado the storm produced; it dropped another one after sunset just to the west of Rosalia.

      #WildRosesForRosalia

      "Wild roses?"

I dunno; I was thinking of taglines and had Final Fantasy on the mind as well.

  3. Limited carry capacity?
    Yeah, it makes sense.

Even more sense when the weight of small items is less than one, but greater than zero.

  4. I like Emerald's Skill Trees script, it definitely has a good amount of features and is somewhat easily customizable, but I keep wondering if there's one that's even more modular and less resource heavy.

    Hmmm...

  5. So, after doing a long, deep perusal through @Eric Matyas' music collection (mainly to place what I've downloaded into more organized folders because I suck at organizing and have issues with executive functioning in general), I came across a piece that inspired me to create a new character/love interest for Ramsey, who is also a rival/nemesis type character.

I've essentially increased the number of playable characters from twenty, to twenty-four; I'll have to fill the other three spots with cameos or what-have you, be something I do as I go, but I've finally found the victory BGM I wanted for character slot 20, that one evaded me for a long time. Yes, the new character also has a victory BGM; I took one of the BGM pieces from the Cosmic Music Pack and increased the tempo by sixty percent (via Audacity).

  6. Since XP, VX and VX Ace are deprecated, the source code should be available, so that certain problems can actually be fixed.

Maybe then, the experience will be better going forward.

Note, I didn't say make the source code public. Yet.

    1. Kayzee

      Kayzee

Not likely to ever happen. Closest thing you will ever get is projects like EasyRPG and Mkxp.

    2. PhoenixSoul

      PhoenixSoul

Ah, it used to be that for a fee, one could get a copy of the source code if the dev opted to provide it.

Hah; I'd love to see 'Right to Repair' tackle software...LOL

    3. Kayzee

      Kayzee

It used to be most software was made by hobbyists and they tended to provide source code anyway. Then more and more big corporations started getting into software and they wanted to control everything. That triggered the great free software rebellion and... well history is complemented and I'm not going to go over all of it.

A big part of the 'Right to Repair' stuff is abut software and having the right to install custom software on to devices and stuff like that. As for the right to repair software it's self, that's partly what the idea of free software is all about, the freedom to change and fix software.

      So support free software kiddos!

That, dearest love @Kayzee, @Rikifive, is Neversoft Eye; the mascot and an unlockable skater in THPS3 (except for the PlayStation iteration). Neversoft Eye has also been imported into Guitar Hero World Tour: Definitive Edition.

I also know the skateboard tricks NSEye pulled off in that vid clip.
      1) Truckstand -> Truckstand Flip
      2) To Rail/Primo
      3) Casper -> Casper Shove

    3. Rikifive

      Rikifive

I only played THPS3 and 4 on PSX. Now that I checked it, I didn't even know it was on PS2 as well! How come I didn't know about it?

I miss playing these on PSX though, I often was doing dumb things rather than playing normally. I really miss these times...

Nice, I never paid too much attention to name of the tricks, so I remembered only few basic ones lol.

    4. PhoenixSoul

      PhoenixSoul

THPS3 was on PlayStation, PS2, Xbox, and PC. (I forget which Nintendo console got THPS3)
As for the flatland tricks, most of them would actually not even be in the game proper until THPS4 or even THUG1.

  8. Anyway...
I really am starting to miss having that i5-6600 and AMD Radeon 7000 running stuff.

No; the GPU is not usable in my much older PC.

  9. So, Windows 10 corrupted the HDD on my more capable PC and I've yet to figure out how to get a viable replacement.

Honestly, I was going to upgrade from the ~500 GB HDD, but, like, I needed a lot more time than a few months, for Mercy's sake.

Dammit, Microsoft. You and your damn updates.

    1. Kayzee

      Kayzee

Oh dear... I hope you get it working soon!

    2. ElCodes

      ElCodes

That sucks! I've been there my self.

I will curse Microsoft with you.

  10. I meant to share this earlier. Ah, well...no better time...

  11. Happy Yule, one and all; may your chocolates be warm, and your soups hearty.

    1. Kayzee

      Kayzee

Yay for Yule! *sprinkles festive fairydust about*

  12. So, yeah, my interests are obviously, very diversified.

Heh, but even dearest love @Kayzee would give me nerd cred for this...

    1. Kayzee

      Kayzee

You get the cred but you also get:

      That One NPC

Final Fantasy is more mainstream than ever before, though. Only men tend to find FF nerdy now. The series is very popular among females.

  13. I love rhythm gaming but have depth perception issues.

    Yeah.
I love working on my gamedev projects but deal with constant burnout. Yup.

I know the cause of the latter problem, but a solution? Nope.

    1. ElCodes

      ElCodes

I feel your pain on the burnout...

  14. Ah, yeah, I slept for the feast of gluttony. I ate pillow.

    1. Kayzee

      Kayzee

Awww, you didn't have anything? I didn't really either but I had a big meal a week ago so I am okay.

    2. PhoenixSoul

      PhoenixSoul

Well, I mean, I had a little bit of food at some point, but like, big feast plates? Nah, no thanks.
Most meals, I eat out of a bowl.

  15. Finally have a wired internet connection again. Is it worth the extra cost? We'll see, Cox.

    1. Rikifive

      Rikifive

Woo nice, hope it serves you well!

    2. That One NPC

      That One NPC

Depends entirely on the quality and strength of service being fed into the wire, vs just using a wire, sadly.

  16. Well, that settles it.
I'll never switch to Google for anything. I'll use MEGA instead.

    1. Kayzee

      Kayzee

In b4 mega does something stupid to earn your ire too!

    2. PhoenixSoul

      PhoenixSoul

      Yeah, I know...

    3. Rikifive

      Rikifive

Yeah, all services of that type like to flip tables upside down from time to time, heh.

  17. I started a new game project.
    Why?
Ramsey has become difficult to work on because of many reasons, most of them involving not being able/allowed to focus.

Worry not; I will still develop Ramsey, I just need to do something less involved.

    1. Rikifive

      Rikifive

Been there, I too, have used the "Start a New Game Project" skill multiple times

  18. So, this PC isn't capable of running everything I have in my Steam library.

Aside from that, I have obstacles many (well one big one anyway) that are keeping me from transferring everything from my older PC to my new one.

Main issue: This newer PC has room for only one HDD, and the one installed has a capacity of ~500 GB. MY older PC has a 1 TB HDD and has more than 600 GB of that reserved for use, most of that full. I also was not a dummy like last time; I made a larger partition for [C:\] and thus, have even less space for anything on my newer PC.

Yeah; I'm not gonna be able to get any upgrades for this PC anytime soon, if ever. The joys of having to buy from brick and mortar stores and not really being able to, because of BS reasons.

Oh trust me, I prefer in-person shopping; I wish online shopping would crash and burn.

I'd of made this a blog, but...

No one reads those, except for a few people. More people read these.

    1. Kayzee

      Kayzee

My lappy toppy only has like 458 GB of which I have 398 GB used. I have a huge external USB HDD for backup and old stuff though.

    2. PhoenixSoul

      PhoenixSoul

I've been needing to get an external HDD for that kind of thing for a while.
Again, it's on the super-long list of unmet needs.

  19. The video card in my new PC is an AMD Radeon 7000.

    1. Kayzee

      Kayzee

You got a new PC? 😮

    2. PhoenixSoul

      PhoenixSoul

      New to me, anyway.

      It's dated, but better.

      A DELL Optiplex 7040.

    3. Kayzee
  20. Yes; my pfp is made with MV angled face generator parts.

  21. Dearest love @Kayzee mentioned Gaia Online, and it had me thinking about another online forum, that was more like IMVU, called frenzoo. Anyone here ever hear about that one, or better yet, were you ever a part of that particular site, before it went mobile?

    1. Kayzee

      Kayzee

Nope, never heard of that one. Was it like a zoo of frens?

    2. PhoenixSoul

      PhoenixSoul

Honestly, I dunno much about how the name came to be, but it ran off a primitive version of Unity 3D.
The 3D animated avatars were cool, though.

  22. I myself have tried my hand at making furniture from pixel scratch...

Having terrible depth perception makes all efforts look literally flat. I only ever managed to make a decent looking, 2D table that would look okay in a side-scroller... 🤣

I know the feeling, I'm no pixel artist pro either. Keep at it!

      I feel this so deeply!

    4. PhoenixSoul

      PhoenixSoul

If I still had those efforts and that table (lost when an HDD decided to corrupt itself), I could possibly maybe use them in a PGE-based game like SMBX.

  23. I'm glad that I know of the resource blacklist. I wish I would of known about it long ago.

Even still, there's one problem; where can I find substitutions for the icons? I looked and found squat.

    But yeah...just me prattling on...

It's this one here, and I'm just glad none of the DLC I bought is on it, and I hope it stays that way.

It's a real shame that the 'Ultimate Icon Set' is included. You almost didn't need anything else with all it had to offer, but it was also an unorganized mess as well, to the point where I originally planned to clean it up, add recolors & call it 'Ultimate Icon Set 2.0'. But when I went to look for it, it was gone. Now we all know why. Also, you never have to worry about DLCs being plagiarized. I'm sure those submitted works are checked first before being put up on the store, lest Degica Komodo risk being an even bigger embarrassment than they already are.

      That One NPC

Avery's iconset is the only viable replacement for the "Big Iconset", and does not allow commercial usages without expressed permission.

This makes it very rough, and one is faced with the task of editing the RTP sheet to produce what they need.

  24. I have difficulties with Executive Functioning. It affects so many things...

So, when I bought RMXP for Zelda, it felt good because I wasn't judged or criticized for it.

I was thanked, yes, but just that, well, I was given the "you didn't have to" speech, but I did it because I wanted to, and it's fine; she's entitled to know why I did that, but I didn't have/need a reason.

I just don't do well with doing things and getting criticized unfairly. It's unnecessary stress.

Oh no, @Kayzee, mon amour; you should hear the crap I have to put up with from the neurotypical brainwashed fools I live with, and by comparison, you're an intellectual field of flowers rather than a minefield of stupid.

Anyway, executive functioning is...hard to explain. Trouble making decisions and doing things, is part of it. It's a big web of things that all involve processing everything and making a quick response to, like everyone expects. "RESPOND NOW." (when I'm still processing a lot of things all at once)

You're very welcome, @Fjoraselda, my dear.

    4. Kayzee

      Kayzee

Intellectual field of flowers huh? I guess it's true! How else am I going to lure you in to my devious trap? :3

Maybe it's cause you actually think rather then just react. :3

  25. Is it just me, or do the MZ graphics, at least for faces, have that older anime look to them, like from Gundam, or similar?

It was an observation I made when I was making some character art with MZ pieces in GCH PE.
