    Well, this is odd; apparently, one cannot display icons using variables.
    I mean to do so like this:
    \i[$game_variables[#]]

    Like, the point of this is to use the variable's current value to point to the icon index. I mean, sure, I think one could use the following:
    \i[\v[#]], but I'm not sure if that would work outside of message boxes and such.

      Wow,  \i[\v[#]] actually works! I didn't think it would at first glance, but it totally does! It should work for any text that is drawn with draw_text_ex, which I think by default is message boxes, item descriptions/help windows, choice lists, scrolling text, the battle log... and I think that's it? Most menus or other windows only use draw_text which doesn't support control codes at all, but most of them manually draw icons or other things anyway.

       

      Here is a fun thing you can do with message control codes: You can technically set a variable to a string using script calls or the set variable script operand. This makes the \v[#] command a LOT more useful if you ask me.

      Yeah, let us just say that this is outdated; my topic in Programming is the actual thing to be looking at. Since you have my project, you have both scripts at hand.

      I mean...I'm not going to skip over an obstacle because it'll be there no matter what until the obstacle is eliminated, so if this stalls my demo release, then BITCH MODE ACTIVATED.

      I don't think banging your head on the wall will help you understand anything... All it might do is give you minor brain damage. I honestly think half of the problem is that it seems like you try to solve every problem by throwing yourself at things as hard as you can for as long as you can without stopping. Take it form me, sometimes you have to just mindlessly stare at the screen for a while before suddenly everything clicks.

      That, dearest love @Kayzee, @Rikifive, is Neversoft Eye; the mascot and an unlockable skater in THPS3 (except for the PlayStation iteration). Neversoft Eye has also been imported into Guitar Hero World Tour: Definitive Edition.

      I also know the skateboard tricks NSEye pulled off in that vid clip.
      1) Truckstand -> Truckstand Flip
      2) To Rail/Primo
      3) Casper -> Casper Shove

      I only played THPS3 and 4 on PSX. Now that I checked it, I didn't even know it was on PS2 as well! How come I didn't know about it?

      I miss playing these on PSX though, I often was doing dumb things rather than playing normally. I really miss these times...

       

      Nice, I never paid too much attention to name of the tricks, so I remembered only few basic ones lol.

      THPS3 was on PlayStation, PS2, Xbox, and PC. (I forget which Nintendo console got THPS3)
      As for the flatland tricks, most of them would actually not even be in the game proper until THPS4 or even THUG1.

      One of them is designed as a framework for letting other plugin devs define new effects for users so that users don't need to write code. The other is designed to be just "write whatever code you can think of"

       

      The first one, being a framework, requires additional set up. And then you're stuck with limited note-tag parsing option.

       

      The second one, you get multi-line code parsing. Definitely better.

      Yeah, 150 GB is pretty much nothing nowadays. I don't have much on my HDD, yet there's 270 GB taken in total already.

      I've been juggling 40 GB of space left for about a year and a half now. I haven't had much issue with it, outside of having to clean my download folder of dupe .rar files from time to time. Yet again, I've also sworn off video games in favor of books and movies, which helps with managing space. 

       

      Did 150 GB ever really mean that much in recent years though? I remember 5 years ago hardly able to balance 200 GB of space with tons of steam games and movies floating about.

  22. After buying some tinkering material on Steam for really cheap, I'm back in the gamedev scene.

    I have most of the Castle Tower mapped, and transitions made between floors.

    Still figuring out how deep the Castle Abyss goes, and what other rooms need to be added to the rest of the Castle.

    I'm also still trying to figure out if I should have the main party be one actor and switch between male and female, or stick to having two separate actors, one for each gender.

    No story line for determining gender/personality yet.

      I'm just trying to figure things out first.

       

      I've had no luck in finding the full size battlers for the VX Ace RTP, so I'm not sure as to how I'll be implementing the battles for some of the Monster Cards...(I've only fleshed out eight of those thus far)

    I honestly take an odd comfort in hearing them go off like this, but I'm not sure why.

     

    I mean, sure, knowing they're working means that in an actual emergency, they'll be working correctly, but I believe there's more to it, just not sure what exactly that is...

      There's so much inconsistency abound, that knowing the sirens go off at noon every Monday from Spring until Autumn or so, adds a bit of consistency. I guess one could say it is a form of stability...maybe...
