Another one of my side projects, this one took me about two and a half days, to start and complete. It wouldn't screw it up the may I have it set up because it takes the characters current MAT when they use the buff, and you can't use the buff again until it runs out. I also made it so if you aren't wearing armor and use the buff, if you put armor on it will deactivate the Buff. because wearing no armor/mage robes you gain more DEF then when you do wear armor, that way the player won't just take off the armor buff and then put it back on to get more DEF.

How can I make a skill that raises DEF based on how many MAT you have. So if you have 15 MAT, and you use this skill it will buff your DEF by 15.

that's the way I did it the first time but I was getting an error, or I did it the long way, still got the error. Well now I know it was the spelling not the syntax.

I actually solved it myself, although It wasn't the way I wanted to do it. First I used 1 common event to turn of the effect. -I set a variable to mat then increased users DEF by that variable -after that I made a switch which was called buff off. then I used a script I had (which turned switches on/off after specified minutes) to -turn the switch on after 2mins. (using an abs) In another common event which I made parallel process and set it to the switch that would turn on after 2 mins. -In this common event I decreased the DEF by the variable that was set to MAT, and turned the switch back off. -I also made the script to add a blank state which is just there to show that the buff is on, and would be removed by the second -common event after it turns the effect off. I also made sure that the variable set to MAT would only be set to MAT when the skill calls -the event only, because if i didn't then you would lose more DEF if you level up, or your MAT increased Edit: Only thing is I can't figure out how to make it balanced, MP wise. I want it to be a skill available at lv 1, and it's really powerful, because the more your MAT grows the stronger it becomes, I can't just leave it at 1 MP cost, it too would also have to grow. EDIT2: Ok wow, turns out this way I can just keep using the skill and it will keep adding DEF, so I guess I'll condition it so when the state is on you won't gain anything. EDIT: #3 I just thought of a way to improve this. I can make it so the higher your Base DEF, the less effective the skill is and the lower you def is the more it's gonna work. This will lead mages to wear no armors.

put it at the top next scroll all the way down on the note tag, where it says combo tool, it should be the last one. Make sure it says nil

I tried this and it's not working any ideas why? I tagged my armor with <ft: move_speed 5> but the speed is still the same I place feature manager on top of this script.

Go to scene_menu and remove this line:14 create_gold_window # this one is ok to remove. ine 15: create_status_window # you will get an error if you want to go into actors status, skills, etc... so yah. But since you removed those options it should be fine.

A let's play, could be interesting! Just make sure you make another one for whatever appears in the next version. My main focus is working on hard mode because it is really easy right now. I'd prefer it if you didn't show how bad hard mode is in the let's play (if you can collect 15 pages, that is!). Also, keeping the code hidden if you win would be helpful too. Is it really 5:00 AM!? I have been awake too long. noooo it's 1:43am... lol my time! and sure, i'm mostly just going to be comparing to my game.

Is there any way to allow this to have a dual wielding character? I'm asking because I have a script that allows dual wielding character to also use a shield, and also because I don't want to make the same weapons twice as a shield. -

I made a post like this a long time ago, and I'm still working on it. One things that I do know is a radiant AI can be done with a series of scripts that would work together. I'm no script expert but these script would have to contain things like Time system - to manage when the AI has to do stuff. Proximity system - To manage when the AI has reach it's destination IE. reach a door, then a switch turns on to tell them to disappear. Path finder system - To tell the AI where to go without, over complicated move routes. maybe a script that links diffrent event as 1 person, so for example in the script setup you add the graphics of the event there, and in the events you put a comment tag, which will link all events with that comment tag as one person, so when you're in town the AI will operate on event 1 and when event 1 goes to another map the AI will operate on another event and treat it like event 1 I am still looking for a radiant AI system my self, as I am creating a skyrim clone! lol

hello, this is the rough draft of my games history/lore I wrote last night before I went to sleep. Just posting it here to hear what you guys think. There's more things I wrote but decided to leave them out for this post. The game is an open world RPG, and most of the lore is going to come from books written by people in the game. That way I can change anything about the world and it wouldn't be against the lore, as it was written by the citizens of the world, and they have no way of knowing what actually happened, or may just have been bias. I plan on making this game a 4 part game, each with a different/unrelated story, and also at different times, but sharing the same world. so for example there are 4 continents the first game would take place in of of those continents, and the second one would take place in a different continent 100 years later, where the events of the first game will be documented by a writer or somethings and the player can actually read about the events of the first game.

There is a lot of stuff you have to change, If you aren't to familiar with scripts I would suggest you find someone to do it for you. I had to do the same things but only 1 skill, 1 item. i'll try to list somethings you have to change but I might not get them all. 1 start with battler setting script. --delete the input keys for those items, when you do you will get errors in peral skillbar script line 96. all you have to do here is delete the things you don't want. lines 16+ --once you do that then those inputs will no longer be used, but your far from being done. --go down to line 124-125 and also remove the things you don't want this tells the items which boxes they use, so removing it will remove their spot from the bar. you still have to edit your skillbar image to match the number of things you want on it. so get a picture editor and cut off from the ending how many things you removed. in your case cut off the last 3 boxes. make sure your image is centered, or make the image the same size as what's left. once you got your image right, now it's time to remove the option to add items to those shortcuts you removed. 2 go to pearl scenes line 542 - 549 --here again all you have to do is remove the things you don't want for items and skills If you are using party members there's more things you have to remove --go down to line 276, and remove it --go to line 381, 384, 385, and remove all of them. And that's it! I was doing the steps my self as i was writing it, and I also tested it and it works, to save you time just open the image of the skill bar and delete the last 3 boxes, make sure the image is the same dimension and everything just take out the last 3 boxes. Also i'm planning on making a video tutorial for this because it can be confusing when reading it. Once I get my laptop back. @ Aya_Vectra you have to change those terms in the kernal lines 46, 52, 58, 64 for hp, mp, exp, tp -

Yeah,but keep in mind I'm mostly working on making a demo for my project,so I can't record as much as I wish. that's the beauty of my game, it can be played in 5mins... one of those game you have to keep playing to get better at it, and you are guaranteed to lose(die) a lot. ,I think I'll go for 1 more dedicated to hard mode. I checked it out, and it was awesome, and yes I would like to see you play some more. I also left you a comment, check it out.
