So apparently they are "remastering" SaGa Frontier and Legend of Mana for the Nintendo Switch. What do you think about that?
I think all the blathering I have done about those games in the last 5'ish years (since really embracing the fact that yes, most laptops can handle the PSX emulator XD), has somehow influenced the loom of fate to will this into existence. Manifest destiny? XD
Honestly? I think they are 2 of the best - maybe not bravest, but - daring and special games of the era, perhaps the JRPG genre period. I feel like it was a long time coming, and that it's sort of obvious if you've played either at length.
I'm particularly excited to see what they do with SaGa, as it has so much room to be expanded in the way most of the quests were loosely laid out to really allow what we would call sandboxing today.
TBH I'm really excited for and so proud of both of these games. It's making me a tad emotional which is so weird. oml, rofl. I guess it's that romanticized notion that a new batch of people will be exposed to these games, the characters, etc. And that inevitably leads to a % of those people looking into the original. It's a life after death that makes me so happy for them both.
Hehe, I figured you would have something to say about it.
But yeah I mostly feel the same. Not sure how much will be changed besides upscaled backgrounds, though SaGa Frontier is apparently getting new quests/events. I doubt it will be adding an 8th main character/quest but who knows, there were apparently plans for one that got cut from the original (I heard Fuse of all people was going to have his own quest at one point). I personally really really wish they would overhaul Legend of Mana's battle system, but I doubt they will. Of course I know you think it's perfect anyway so...
Yes, Fuse was suppose to have his own quest that would have fleshed out the IRPO much more.
The original has a ton of unused content from items, spells, playables; It's kinda insane. The Fuse quest is like 95%, I am holding out for a Gen quest added to the mix. Perhaps show the fall of Wakatu in a feverish flashback before we find him in the bar at Scrap.
