Cleaned out the cd-rom cupboard yesterday. A lot of them don't work anymore, so they had to be thrown away. Then I found out we had Jazz Jackrabbit in there, and it still worked! (so I've got that going for me, which is nice) And Morrowind, obviously. That one still works on windows 7 too!

And now, finally, I'm the proud owner of a copy of RPG Maker VXAce. Been some time after my trial ended, and I was stuck planning everything on paper, spreadsheets and the like.

About Psychic types being weak to Bug, Psychic is supposed to be the element involving your brain, then the weaknesses make more sense. People are afraid of the dark, bugs and ghosts. What is Psychic weak to: Dark, Bug and Ghost types. It's all in your head! I really like the five elements of Feng Shui, or any other relationships that make sense. I read somewhere that the Fire, Ice, Lightning trio is based around energy. Fire, is a surplus of energy, Ice is the absence of energy, and Lightning is the transfer between the two. -

@randomstranger: Just like most parallax mappers, I use some kind of tiles. That tree, I made it in a separate workspace, then after adding it to the map, I played with the hue/saturation slider and contrast. The grass and rocks were drawn beforehand too. Actually, all of my maps are blotches of textures until I add the highlights and shading which makes it come to life. For the warm feeling, it helps that the physical location of that map is in some kind of borderline tropical area. It's on an island but somehow, it has no standard tropical foliage. Those trees, which are actually some kind of oak, just adapted to the climate shift. It's more, Florida-like, but with more rain. -
@above: I think it's meant to be a horizon of some sorts. But I just have to say it: the RPG Maker perspective is not made for 'real life' perspective. 3D games can pull it of since you really have all three dimensions to work with, and rendering programs, but it just looks off with tiles of a fixed size. And the shiftclick mapping. It is good to use for overriding the auto-tiles, to create proper roofs or patches of grass, this is just too much. Sand - cutoff - grass - transition - sand and so on just don't look great. Either go for all transitions or one material.

@Jonnie: That house is awesome. Can you teach me? And besides, after playing around with sketchup for so long, it turns out that creating a 3D model for EVERY map is just nog feasible and I switched to classic parallax mapping instead. All content in this map is hand-made by me. This map will show up in the introduction of the game, with the first battle (and tutorial). I use Gary's pixel movement script together with Hime's collision maps. The cliff on the upper left corner will be used for story purposes. -
Normally, I don't drink, but dayum, mead is awesome! But so hard to get here in NL. Good thing that I live about 15 miles from the German border and they have that stuff in Kalderkirchen!

What do you guys think about a fantasy party in which the girls are the fighter and red mage , a 30-something man is the black mage and a 21 year-old guy is the white mage?

Those were stock roles, but hey, thanks for the suggestions. (and in my games, white mage means healing+buffing+holy magic+caduceus)
And about the C+ cup, you guys realize that any cup beyond B impairs your ability to fight? They just get in the way, even when tied in place. A and B cups can be tied flat.
