Hi everybody! Here are three new tracks from a planned new album of 100% free-to-use music resources. If I had the time and money to assemble a team to make my own game idea, this would be the soundtrack. Some tracks are based on my unfinished loops and early demos from 2007. I cannot say when new tracks will become available, but I hope it's soon. No need to ask permission to use these in your project. Download links are visible when you click on the ellipses symbol (...) on each track's page. There is a download limit at the moment. Please let me know if the download links need fixing. Our Last Day in Paradise Thank you! And yes, you may! Sorry for the late reply. -

I am very glad you decided to compose, too! Please feel free to send me links of your tracks, or even post links in this thread. As for the software I use, Steinberg's Sequel has been my go-to for years, but lately I have used Apple's Logic Pro. -

So, I have some good news for everyone! First, I am preparing to start a whole new chapter of music-making to share with the community in the Fall. This will be a kind of re-imagining of the game music I have made until now. I want to create at least an entire game's worth of music, spanning the course of a year or two. Tracks will be hosted on SoundCloud again, and I am going to re-activate unlimited downloads for the "Sound Color" series later this month. Also, I am now taking commissions for commercial games! PM me if you are interested! -

LadyMinerva, do you have a link to this Happy Birthday RPG? I would love to see how Bloodlust was used in context! lol -

Dear Friends, I am no longer able to pay for premium SoundCloud services, however, my music is still available through batch ZIP file downloads, hosted on MEGA’s servers. Feel free to use any of these songs as you please, including for commercial projects. Also, my original post contains a breakdown of songs according to their intended function / placement in a classic RPG game. All songs are in MP3 format. Here are the new download links, hosted by MEGA: SONGS 110, 147 - 314 (Includes all free SoundCloud releases and more! 2010-13) DOWNLOAD ALL (245MB) SONGS 001 - 105, 121 - 141 (Includes previously unreleased tracks from 2006-09) DOWNLOAD PART 1 (344MB) | PART 2 (272MB) I am sorry for any inconvenience. I will continue to write songs for this community, but I am still on hiatus and am not accepting requests at this time. Thank you for your continued support. I hope you enjoy the tracks! Sincerely, Aaron Krogh -

After hours of sorting through my music archives, I was able to recover and export over 100 of my first songs from 2006 - 2008. Most of these tracks were composed using MadTracker for Windows -- not an ideal program for the kind of music I was trying to make. Nevertheless, here they are... most of songs 24 - 141. Some were never finished, and they do not appear in this collection. Discs 5 & 6 contain music written specifically for RPGs. Some songs were even made with 8-bit synthesizers. Here is a bonus track that is available on Disc 5 in a slightly different version: 91-C Peaches - Mediafire Download Edit: 18 tracks from songs 1-23 (2006) have been found! Disc 1 is now downloadable from Mediafire. As usual, you have my permission to use these tracks commercially, if you so desire. However, please note that these are not the kinds of songs you have come to expect from me. The sound quality is MP3 320kbps, but these are raw exports, they do not loop, and they sound weird. All right. Let the sharing begin! Here's a remastered track from a few years ago that was a direct "sequel" to "148 - The Brother I Never Had." It's a little angsty, but I think it can be used in a sweet romantic scene or for a lonely character theme. 313 - Bittersweet Affection As always, you do not have to ask me for permission to use this track in a commercial project! Use it however you like. I ask that you credit the composer as Aaron Krogh. Thanks, everyone! -

I should have used "click and draw" to describe the way it works. Youtube has many helpful, instructional videos on how to use the software. It's a lot of fun, and Sequel is a good place to start, I think. It's where I began learning how to use strings. -

If it's the expense that's turning you away, try the free trial of Steinberg's Sequel 3, an equally powerful program that comes with lots of VST (virtual) instruments. The only downside to this application is that you cannot add your own instruments to the list. The free trial is really worth looking into. About 90% of my songs were made using Sequel. Download the Trial Version here: http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/sequel/trial_version.html -

I use Apple's Logic Pro to write my music: http://www.apple.com/logicpro/ It has some really professional virtual instruments. I pick the ones I want to use, and I draw the notes in a sequence. It's a lot of fun!
