  1. Title: Aussenseiter Genre: Action RPG Engine : RPG Maker VX Ace Platform :PC INTRODUCTION Idea for Aussenseiter came when I have difficulty when making another game, the reason is to much content that I need to make, especially database and resource. One day in a sacred place an idea came up, why not making simple game? Without epic story and minimal feature. Thus Aussenseiter was born. STORY Story in Aussenseiter revolve around Rud journey to find a Grimoire. Like the title Aussenseiter / Outsider. At first Rud is only a spectator in every problem that appear but slowly he was dragged inside and at the end he is forced to solve it. This time Rud visiting his old friend place, he didn't know there is a conflict started between feudal lord and his people. CHARACTERS Rud The only playable character in Aussenseiter, Rud is on journey to many place to find a Grimoire which he belive able to fix his body. In the battle Rud use bare hand martial art, he also can use Rune Gauntlet to use magic to strenghen his attack. Yohn This woman lover is Rud partner on his journey. Rossie Daughter of the Grimore owner, Rud promise him to take care of her when she still a kid. But he is forced to leaved her because a certain circumstanced. Extra Character = Zest Leine GAMEPLAY Battle on ASR is inspried from Y's Series, that why I design the game to have fastpace battle and full of combo. Because I using 3D sprite I have no problem to create many different movement sprite. ABS system is created by Victor_sant and improved with Theolized For Exploration ASR use fast travel system, where player can change their location by choosing it. For dialogue, ASR using Visual Novel like system. SCREENSHOT FEATURE Non Epic Storyline. Minimum Feature. 3D Pre-Rendered parallax map. 3D Pre-Rendered sprite. CREDIT Tile & Sprite Artist = Me Character CG = seochan BG = Billy Christian Story = Nightrider and Me Scripter = Victor and TheoAllen

  4. I remember reading my first anthology. It was so neat. There was one fictional world, but there were different writers writing from different aspects. One event could be recorded different ways, depending on the author, and the varying characters. Imagine that there is a town of magic gates, each gate going to a different realm or location. No two gates have the same setting. In one realm, the usage of magic may be punishable by death, whereas within an adjacent realm may be uber magika. Each writer control what is the setting of their personal magic gateway. There are some basics: 1. No vulgar language. 2. We are sticking with fantasy, and very little, if any, sci-fi. If a culture could invent simple mechanical devices, that may be allowed. 3. No modern equipment, weaponry, settings, etc. 4. Each realm's quests do not have to rely on other quests. NOTE: The solving of a realm's quest(s) may be part of another quest. 5. I prefer not see horror, but have no issues with undead encounters. I am looking for writers, that have created or wanting to create different realms/lands to be part of one game. If you are not a writer, but have an idea, I would appreciate that too. If would be really neat to get some dwarvish content. Thanks, Jay

    Japan: Jubei's Vengeance

    Status: Completed Genre: Rpg/Strategy, dark fantasy, DramaSetting -This game takes place in Feudal and in the Sengoku period of Japan. The "feudal" period of Japanese history, dominated by the powerful regional families (daimyÅ) and the military rule of warlords (shÅgun), stretched from 1185 to 1868.The Edo period, a Period of war, politics and conflict between European and Asian Religion. -The Sengoku period or 'Warring States period' in Japanese history was a time of social upheaval, political intrigue, and nearly constant military conflict that lasted roughly from the middle of the 15th century to the beginning of the 17th century. The Sengoku period in Japan would eventually lead to the unification of political power under the Tokugawa shogunate. Christians and firearms first arrived during this period to Japan.History During the Edo period, also called the Tokugawa period, the administration of the country was shared by over two hundred daimyÅ in a federation governed by the Tokugawa shogunate. The Tokugawa clan, leader of the victorious eastern army in the Battle of Sekigahara, was the most powerful of them and for fifteen generations monopolized the title of Sei-i TaishÅgun (often shortened to shÅgun). With their headquarters at Edo (present-day TÅkyÅ), the Tokugawa commanded the allegiance of the other daimyÅ, who in turn ruled their domains with a rather high degree of autonomy. The Tokugawa shogunate carried out a number of significant policies. They placed the samurai class above the commoners: the agriculturists, artisans, and merchants. They enacted sumptuary laws limiting hair style, dress, and accessories. They organized commoners into groups of five and held all responsible for the acts of each individual. To prevent daimyÅ from rebelling, the shÅguns required them to maintain lavish residences in Edo and live at these residences on a rotating schedule; carry out expensive processions to and from their domains; contribute to the upkeep of shrines, temples, and roads; and seek permission before repairing their castles. Genesis: The "Christian problem" was, in effect, a problem of controlling both the Christian daimyo in KyÅ«shÅ« and their trade with the Europeans. By 1612, the shogun's retainers and residents of Tokugawa lands had been ordered to forswear Christianity. More restrictions came in 1616 (the restriction of foreign trade to Nagasaki and Hirado, an island northwest of KyÅ«shÅ«), 1622 (the execution of 120 missionaries and converts), 1624 (the expulsion of the Spanish), and 1629 (the execution of thousands of Christians). Finally, the Closed Country Edict of 1635 prohibited any Japanese from traveling outside Japan or, if someone left, from ever returning. The christian problem reached its highlight under Ieyasu's successors Tokugawa Hidetada and Tokugawa Iemitsu, particularly after the predominantly Christian population of KyÅ«shÅ« had risen in the Shimabara Rebellion against the shogunate in 1637. The uprising was crushed brutally; more than 40,000 Christians were killed. Authorities of persecution were set up, with the goal of a nationwide persecution and extermination of the Christians. Anyone who was suspected of being a Christian had to abandon Christianity publicly and dishonor Christian symbols, which were called 'fumie', , as well as register in the Buddhist register of faith of Buddhist temples and visit those regularly. Those who refused to abandon their Christian faith were executed, often through public crucifixion or incineration. Shimabara Rebellion: It is an uprising in southwestern Japan in 1637–1638 during the Edo period. It largely involved peasants, most of them Catholic Christians. The shogun vs Samurai Christians and peasants converted to christianity. Plot: In the Year 1665, You play as Jubei Kibagami, a hitman at a local city of Gion, a district of Kyoto. Your origins are unkown, but it is known that Jubei is a very skilled swordsman, being a student of Sasaki Kojiro, the greatest samurai. You will live through several decades of Jubei's life. Some say Jubei comes from a town that was known as Ichihara, a town that a powerful dragon destroyed, Jubei even lost his family during the attack... but in the end only Jubei knows the truth, since it is said that only he survived, this event came to be known as the massacre of Gion. It is said that Jubei is searching for Kojiro, his master, since he was the only man to ever slay a Dragon and a possible survivor at the massacre of Gion, only Kojiro knows how to kill a dragon! Play as Jubei in his search for Vengeance! Places: Yomi: The Japanese Hell.Ichihara: Home village of Kojiro and Jubei.Characters: -Amakusa Shiro: Leader of the Christian rebellion in Japan, people call him the "heaven's messenger." Miraculous powers were attributed to him.-Francisco Xavier: Roman Catholic sent by the pope to Japan to convert Japan into a "Christian country" for "Salvation" porpuses.- Kojiro: Granson of the famous samurai Sasaki Kojiro, that was slain by Miyamoto Musashi.   6. Hi guys! Okay, so I did a big rewrite on my game, and this is my brand new story idea. ^^ I hope you like it, and if there's anything I need to change, please let me know! (Copied and pasted from my website, by the way. XD) There were two kingdoms, Aelmia and Naori. They both lived in peace…until one day, when the king of Aelmia, Zander, tried to take it over. This started war between the kingdoms. However, Zander fled from the castle, and Naori soon takes over his land. Through all of this, he comes across a group that wants to fight the battle, led by Adelyn, a mischievous elf thief. Zander wants to finish this war and get his throne back, but what will happen…if he realizes what it was like when he WAS in charge? Erm...I hope you guys like it. >///< Once again, let me know if there's anything I should fix! I also have a draft ready for a story of mine called Crystal Tale if anyone wants to hear about that too...^^;
  7. Arpygea Dawning My first extended game project in early development: currently designed as a free game Greetings, Arpygea Dawning is my first extended game project. It is designed to begin as a learning experience utilizing the basics of RPG Maker VX Ace, then evolve into a sophisticated game with original graphics, music and gameplay elements as I learn more and (hopefully!) attract the interest and assistance of the many talented scripters, artists, and developers in the community. Since I am new to RMVXA many of the elements will be RTP in the beginning as I become acquainted with the application and utilize it to structure and flesh out my storyline. Project Timeline 01Aug2014 [update]: Added the concept and map in a post below of the FutureWorld component of Arpygea Dawning: Retropolis - link 27May2014 [update1]: Created a topographical Arpygea Map that encompasses the northeast quadrant of the world (town names, kingdoms, and more to be added later): 27May2014 [update2]: Added Modern Algebra's Quest Journal script to game and created a couple of windowskins (the Forest of Lost Souls green leaf patterned one is shown, the royal kingdom one will be added later). Note: the Haunted Forest gameplay video was captured prior to Journal, windowskins and other additions so they are not in it. Also, in characters I've started the biographies of Aeron, Elysabeth, and Aurella. Screenshots of new windowskin & quest journal 18May2014 [update to update of revised video: reduced size of game message portraits and added more dialogue (still incomplete)]: Added a gameplay / story development sequence video . Note: dialogue and mapping, etc. incomplete. I am utilizing a combo of Yanfly scripts with Galv's Message Busts' script and Yami's overlay script. All or most of graphics, portraits, sprites are placeholders until original art can be arranged. Pardon my clunky-ness with the controls during the video and there is some silly dialogue at the end that is just there temporarily for my own amusement. The end game will not have that kind of silliness (hopefully). My intent though is that the game will run the gamut from humor to tragedy, danger to romance, while providing chills and thrills and involving the hearts and minds of the players ... oh yeah, and be fun too! . 14May2014: Added new and revised maps and screenshots (Haunted Forest, Cyanna's Village and Cyanna's House), expanded credits to include more artists and scripters whose work I am provisionally using. Please see "Screenshots" section for new screenshots and maps images (will add maps category soon) and credits for expanded list (note: as always, if I miss giving credit to anyone please let me know and I'll correct that -- also I believe I am using resources appropriately for a free project but let me know if not and I'll fix that too). Added placeholder portraits to "Characters" and "Creatures". 28April2014: Created early project feedback page. Included video (with two alternate title screens and a post-credits sequence) , several screenshots, story summary, short character descriptions, and credits. Note gameplay / features wishlists will begin with that incorporated in the RMVXA app in the beginning, then will expand to include the scripting, artwork, and other elements from outside sources to give Arpygea Dawning a unique form and style. Note: if I miss crediting anyone for elements utilized within this project as it evolves please let me know and I will make sure that credit is given where credit is due! Thank you for visiting this page and all constructive feedback is greatly appreciated! Vox Populi
  8. Engine: RPGMaker VX Genre: Fantasy RPG Length: +- 7.5 hours Status: Complete Hi guys. My name is Luchino, and after keeping this project of mine limited to two sites ( rpgmaker.net and rpgmakerweb.com, it originally debuted on rpgmakervx.net in February 2011 to lots of acclaim ), I've decided to share it with this community as well. This is my first serious project that has undergone several overhauls between 2010 and 2013, finally reaching completion in September 2013. It has been well recieved by many who have played it, praising the game for its rich world-building and stellar soundtrack and visuals. The game is heavily influenced by Celtic mythology. I hope you enjoy playing it. =) Story Synopsis: Character Bios: Screenshots: All maps are done in the editor. 0% parallaxing. Download: http://rpgmaker.net/games/2985/downloads/5169/ 194mb, requires the RPGMaker VX RTP to play. Fanart: Credits: That's that. Hope you hear from you soon. =)
  9. A little project that's been bugging me awhile. The title is named after a small idea I thought up in five minutes (hence Impromptu, and has nothing to do with Chopin's composition whatsoever). I was somewhat inspired by Mass Effect, so if you find the story familiar, feel free to slap me. So far, I've got a few plot bits sorted out, but the rest might need a little expansion. The Basic Premises Well, it's an RPG game. Whaddaya want. It's 2D, following the standard format. Screenshots to come when I've completed some sprites and maps. The theme is fantasy/steampunk, and involves magic and technology together. The main elements involve cheap shots at satire, involving mocking typical JRPG elements, while retaining darker elements such as the corruption of man into avarice and wrath, the collapse of social order and the player observing the flaws of various forms of governance. There will be penguins. The Plot The Characters The Game Features The Non-Stolen Original Artworks The People I've Shamelessly Ripped Off

    RTP-style music request

    Hello dear musicians! I have a special request for you guys... Like you all know, music is like tilesets: some ressources can be masterpieces, but they won't fit well together, by lack of harmony/consistency. I have listened to alot of pieces posted here, but didn't quite found what I'm looking for. As I don't want to have to rely on others for my game, I'm using alot of RTP stuff, including music, but there aren't that many BGMs available, so I'm looking for more backgroud music that would fit well with the RTP default music. I've also added some pieces by Gyrowolf, as they are pretty much what I want in my game. Check out his stuff for inspiration: https://soundcloud.com/gyrowolf/sets/gyrowolfs-rpg-maker-music-pack/ So, is anyone able to make (or show me where I can find...) some music of that type and vibe? Thanks a lot! Note: It's for a non-commercial game, and has to be free...
  12. Mesumari Setora: In the Leghanic language translates to; Planet of Phantasy. During the infancy of mankind, within the depths of the Synkaru Galaxy there was a grand war. A battle between two Galactic powerhouses. The Ruthless Blood lords of Escar versus the Imperial Epics of Leghan. During the long tireless battles, the Lords of Leghan opened the vault of secrets and prepared for the final assault, hence our story begins. (I stare at my father and shed tears, my brother standing next to me in distress and confusion. The heavy roars of battle above the cathedral rattle the foundation of the building. The pace of his breath indicated suffering as he spoke to us with undying disappointment. “My son’s you have been granted with a royal mission, this will be our last meetingâ€. Our hearts shattered, our heads lowered and tears flowed heavily as our eyes became incontinent. I hold my heart and stare at my father in understanding. “I see your eyes father; they hold emptiness. This mission will result in survival however, in genocide as well; will it not?†I bluntly stood my ground. My father faintly smiled, and shook his head symbolizing accuracy. My brother’s eyes faded to black as he fell to the ground in sorrow. “W... why father? Why should we be the last of a planet to live?†He blasted at him with discontent. My father and I glared at him with empathy; we felt the pain but couldn’t express emotion. His shaking body and fluxuating energy rattled the walls around us. My father’s face grew serious and spoke with the last words we would ever hear. “Your mission is to live and recreate the Kagelorde. If we all die in vain, you my sons as the new Lords will train and obliterate the enemy once and for all!†That said he turned around and walked away with a smile for the final prophesy of our people was complete and the Shihashi De Kagelorde has begun.) Those two children were sent away witnessing the awakening of their families’ secret causing their galaxies obliteration. But they were not alone. Two of the enemy escaped to chase them. Landing on earth they grow up training and growing stronger during Earths grandest historical moments. Obeying their father’s wishes they found worthy Humans who were trained and became Kagelorde. These nine warriors waged a war upon the remnants of the Blood lords, creating grand distress upon the world and shaken the ground with their Immense power and abilities. In the final fight however The Main Lord's fought and in desperation the Boss used a forbidden art that took out five of the nine, and finally escaped. This is where the game begins. In the last moments of battle these grand warriors are looking towards Ostprusen, Where you the Offspring of a Great Battle mage still reside. It’s up to you to take on countless hardships as the Blood lords Generals and Minions work to annihilate all resistance. While you buy the Lords time to unlock the secret of Leghan once more..... Gray: Wisp of Magius

    INFO Director : Titan_12 Engine : RPG Maker VX Ace Genre : Fantasy and Comedy Playtime : Approx. 1-2 Hours Size: With RTP - 343 MB, Without RTP - 156 MB STORY Gray: Wisp of Magius is a comedy and fantasy-type game that takes place in a fictional world named Magius, where wisps are the creators of the world, different from their folkloric definition. The world of Magius is filled with wisps that cannot be seen by humans, except for two certain types. This is because they live in a different dimension yet coinciding with the world. The player will take the role of Byakuro, a second-year student at a school that teaches people how to be a hero. Every year the students of this school are required to take another entrance exam to separate stronger people from the average ones. On the day of the entrance exam, Byakuro slept in and is gonna be late but luckily his girlfriend, Lillia, woke him. As they dash to the entrance exams, misadventures ensued. This game is rather short; the gameplay only lasting for 1 to 2 hours, but is in fact an introduction to a very complex tale, with a sequel that is still being planned. Features: · Branching storylines; the player can achieve at least four different endings, depending on the decisions made during the game. · Introduction/Prologue to the Gray Series. · Humour mostly involving fourth wall breaking. · Aesthetically pleasing battle system · Changeable Settings. · Very short story: about 1-2 hours’ worth of gameplay. Characters Byakuro - The Protagonist Our Protagonist. He is rather lazy for a hero, and is even too arrogant and overconfident. He, however, is as strong as he boasts. There are quite a lot of mysteries surrounding him and about him, but he would rather shrug it off instead of actually learning more about it. Lillia - The Girlfriend The childhood friend and the love interest of our hero. Her strength is mediocre, but she's quite skilled at healing. PS: Her father only forced her on a date with the hero for the sake of screentime. Despite this, they actually love each other. Ren - The Rival Guy He is rivals with Byakuro ever since they met. Even among their rivalry, and the hero's arrogance, Byakuro has admitted that Ren is stronger than him when it comes to swordsfighting. Alice - The Alice of Wanderland She is a transfer student from Wanderland. Yes, Wanderland, without typo. While her healing skills are much better than Lillia's, compared to her, she is actually very fragile. Brenda - The Misandrist She is a girl talented at archery, and notably disgusted at the sight of men. While her strength is of average level, Byakuro has openly admitted that she is better than him at archery. 15. PLEASE CLOSE THIS TOPIC I've scrapped this project to restart on a clean slate and won't ever update it again Background and Lore Story "They keep me locked away, but they call me a threat." "I look just like them, but they call me a monster." "I have done no harm, but they call me a murderer." "I want to get out. I'll prove them right." An ancient race, long thought to have vanished, is not so gone... All that remains of them is a young girl, who has no memory of herself, or how or why she returned. Lured away with promises of answers, the girl is taken captive and thrown in a cell. For years, her life consists of darkness, starvation, and torturous experimentation... ...until one day, she decides she's had enough. Her escape is just the beginning, as her quest for answers will take her to the corners of the world. Her journey comes with a shocking revelation, and the realization that the world just might be worth saving... Setting Terra Caeli Characters Sylvan: Age - 24 Sylvan was a farm boy who wanted a better life for himself. When he was 19, his father passed away, and Sylvan left home to enlist in the Almurian Legion, the elite fighting force of his homeland of Almuria. Although he was more than skilled enough to become an officer, politics kept him from being promoted, and he found himself assigned as a prison guard. Anahita: Age - Unknown Anahita has spent the majority of her life behind bars. She can remember nothing about where she is from, or why she was imprisoned, and yearns for answers. She has planned her escape for almost as long as she has been locked away. Salus: Age - 352 Once a vicious assassin, Salus opted for a more peaceful life in the Great Wood, the ancestral home of the Elves. He spends much of his time reading about adventures, hoping to one day set out on one of his own. Aiden: Age - 21 Aiden is an expert in the arcane who hopes to become a fully-fledged master at his art. He has an extensive knowledge of Dark Magic. Claire: Age - 22 Claire is a young priestess who specializes in Holy Magic. She tends to be very light-hearted, and her attention span is sometimes a bit short. Claire has nothing but good intentions, which can sometimes get her into trouble. Benton: Age - 34 Benton is a Beast who is an expert in archery. He lives in the Dry Expanse, where he runs into the others by chance. His curiosity drives him to join their quest. Lucy: Age - 105 Lucy is a relatively young Elf who has nearly mastered Arcane Magic. She is a High Elf, the result of a rare genetic mutation that occurs in less than 0.1% of all Elves. As a result of this mutation, her magical abilities far surpass those of any other Elf. Screenshots Custom battlers by Leo-Rose A lively world where all NPCs have something to say Maps designed by SiChainlinks and myself, made with Celianna's beautiful tiles Parallax mapping Planned Features Recruitment Credits As of right now, the schedule for this project is a bit iffy. EDIT: The game probably won't be complete for a while, but it's coming along. There's just a lot more content going into it than I had originally anticipated, I can't find much time to work, and it's growing to be pretty big. It will be completed eventually, but it's looking like slow going for now. Any feedback and critique would be welcome. Be as brutal as you need to be! I want this to be as good as I can get it!

    Esper Wing Chronicle FULL GAME

    Story Ok, it seems that God isn't too happy. 16 years ago one of his angels and a devil from the underworld got together and had a child by accident. Whoops. This child was born with angel and devil powers, becoming dubbed the Demi-Child. The angel and demon in question unable to fend off the multitude of angels went and gave their powers to two individuals that would soon be the Demi-Child's guardians before sealing themselves deep inside a volcano (Yes, a volcano is a weird place, just roll with it~). Oh, and Satan doesn't give a single crap about the Demi-Child, which is strange because the Demi-Child could become a stupidly powerful ally... Anyway, our tale begins with the Demi-Child accompanied by a rather eccentric companion... Characters What? You thought I was going to spoil the other 3 main character? Psssh, yeah right! Though so far this is ONLY A DEMO, so don't expect all of the to be available. Oh, and if you don't utilize each character's skills in battle, "you're gonna have a bad time." 17. Do you like anime? Do you like Mega Man Battle Network? Do you wish to see your favorite anime characters in a video game? If the answer is yes, then this might be the game that you've been looking for. The game is set in an alternate universe where characters from many different anime and video games live together. Don't worry, you are not going to see Goku teams up with Naruto to fight Majin Buu. Characters at that caliber won't be in this game. Initially, the game was made as a fan game for Mega Man Battle Network and Persona 4 fans in mind. But characters from other anime, such as K-On, Haruhi, Lan Hikari, and Hideyoshi Kinoshita will appear as supporting characters. Every character in this game is from a certain anime or video game, so they all have their own facesets and sprites. There will be filler NPCs that you can't interact with, but anyone that you can talk to will be from an existing anime or game. There are also many references hidden throughout the game. You will encounter them when you examine an item or interact with an NPC. Can you recognize them all? I hope you all will enjoy the game. If you liked the game, please leave a comment or like the trailer to show your support. The Adventure Of High School Students Setting Story Characters Download Link Screenshots Credits

  19. Title: The Song that Binds Us Genre: Fantasy Drama Author's Note: I was stuck for a long while in a funk developing A House God Built, so I went and tried my hand at another storyline in my notebook I formerly called "Morbus Cantata". But that sounded funny, so I made it kinda deep, like "Gurl, you're so deep, I can't see you anymore" deep. So yeah, have a read. PLOT: Morgan and Elliot defected from a Mercenary's Guild after a mission went wrong, and now they're forced to go into hiding and escape their clutches. But fleeing is futile, as the head of the guild will not stop until he subdues Elliot and eliminates Morgan. Story switches perspectives as the game progresses, telling a story from a third-person perspective. (Or, I try to do it that way). People will join you in your quest to absolve yourself from enemy clutches. But how high is the price for freedom? MAIN CHARACTERS: Morgan/Captain (Charges TP twice as fast) A strong-willed swordsman. He was the Captain of a squadron charged with the kidnapping of a Duke's daughter, until he had a change of heart. Now he runs from his former guild and home and willingly bears his cross. Sadly, people refuse to leave him be. Elliot Goulding/ Bard (Nigh-perfect aim) An eccentric, loyal assassin with a charming voice. After a dispute with his Captain, he chose to follow him. Good-natured, but sometimes talks of what people see as nonsense. Gallahad/The General Referred to in the guild as 'The General', his prowess is rivaled by Captain Morgan. Known for being a sadist. Constantly leers at Elliot, if you manage to see past the shadow of his helmet. MAPS: Linear, story-based paths, with few deviations. You'll find treasures and hidden stages to bonus items and paths. (That's the plan, anyway.) ITEMS AND SPRITES: Picking up sprites that come close, for now. I don't think I can make much on my own. I'll give credit where it is due. As for items, they'll be kept in light-hearted notes. Expect anti-climactic descriptions, maybe funny depending on who reads and who gets it. COMBAT SYSTEM: As of Alpha Chapter 1: Basic turn-based, XP-Style HUD. Turn-based. Still resolving ATB. I managed to mix an XP-Style battle system with the basic ATB, and I've been trying to configure it to not lag. No success as of Alpha Chapter 1. Also, I've been trying to set a party exp system, where all characters are the same level no matter who leaves and enters. If you guys could help me find a script that does this, I'd be most happy! You can learn a good number of skills, but only equip a certain number of them. That's to avoid overpowering characters. Some spells are available for the shop, and only certain characters can learn them. As of Alpha Chapter 1, no characters are available for learning them yet. They're not introduced in Chapter 1, my apologies. Different classes use different weapons, and their skills depend on different stats. Similar to DISGAEA's weapons, but without equipping anything to anyone. ALPHA-TESTING: Any ideas and opinions would be great. I've uploaded a mega-mega alpha on mediafire for those interested in alpha-testing it. The file is pretty big (Around 128.23MB) because I plan on making the whole game, instead of tearing it apart chapter by chapter. There's so much with this, and I was just so happy to push aside Chapter 1 of the story. It was a lot longer in my notebook. Link to alpha: http://sh.st/w7mst It's still practically skin and bones, no muscle to hold it steady. I'd like you guys to test out the eventing and see if it seems fluid. I'm using a Virtual Machine so it always lags since my computer is kinda crap right now with its VCard and can't run smoothly in VBox. (HELLO, LINUX USERS!) So I request people to give me comments, advice, and maybe a link to a script with the level-up thing. I would love that! I look forward to your input/s! P.S. I'm not sure if this gets kicked out of Theory and Dev't since it has an alpha thing. it isn't a beta, so I kinda smart-a**ed posting. If it doesn't belong in Theory and Dev't, could an admin help me move it?
  20. BLURB: I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right side of the forums but some other people asking help with story concepts are here, so I figured this might be the place. Also, the description and rules of this forum aren't really against story concepts, so yeah. But if it needs to be moved, help me move it. DILEMMA: Need help with my game concept, in general. Genre: Fantasy Drama PLOT: As [snow], you are the star football player in your high school. You rush to school and you accidentally bash into a dork who you apologize to and bring to the nurse's office after seeing him bleed when he hit his head on a sharp rock. He forgives you after numerous apologies in the office and you leave for class. When you see him again, he is bullied into a locker. And from then on you see your mates picking on him again and again and you'll notice the frequency and how they get more violent over the days. You ask your saner friends what's going on with them, and they share your unease. Then one night you pass by the kid again in an alley, being bullied into a bloody pulp. You step in against their better judgement, but then something happens and a scary black thing scares everyone away and leaves you paralyzing in fear. Just when it looks at you, it vanishes. You freaked out so much you fainted. You wake up in a hospital and from there start getting to know the dork [Noel]. You meet his family, who pays for your hospital bills as a thank-you, and from there you get to know him. But his family starts giving you hints of something about Noel and as you investigate further, you realize Noel is god. And he made everything, including you. Chris, his godfather and keeper, finds out you learned the truth and explains that the bullies come after him as a way of his berating himself. God or not, he's a teenage boy with problems, and he also contradicts himself as a means to be logical. of course, that had its ups and downs, and he confronts you with a problem: if you let him realize who he is and what he can truly do, you'd risk erasing everything from existence. If not, you'll of course have the guilt of living a lie. As you progress to the story, it'll climax at the school's Halloween Fair, where you rescue him from bullies one last time and he admits to himself that something's wrong. There, you are given the choice to try to let him know what he is or not. MAIN CHARACTERS Snow "Bodie" White The main character you control. Football star, lives with a single mom and a sister. Best friends with a fujoshi and a friendly asshole. Noel Ellis Rosche The wimp who manages to escape most bullying tactics, but somehow gets chased after with more vicious methods. Can apparently control reality to a large extent unconsciously. Doesn't use therapy much, just therapy books, social interpretation, and various media to help him cope with real people. Chris Valentine Noel'd godfather, who is casual and fun. He seems to know more about Noel than the kid himself does. MAPS It'll be sandbox style, so no real map jumping. School, homes, small regions, all for exploring. The story might get linear, so I'm still trying to think of a way to make it diverse. ITEMS and SPRITES Game-related with funny descriptions. Might poke fun to a few popular things like Youtubers and name puns of celebrities. I'd love some Mack School Sprites but they're hard to come by, and after some experimentation, I learned I suck at pixel art. I might post my character designs here but I need to find some time for it without anyone in my family noticing. They disapprove of me drawing. -___-" EDIT: How many of you think shoving in gags based on popular people is a bad idea? In hindsight, I think it might. GAME DESCRIPTION I won't be using the combat system. It's all just conversations and busts, which will be time-consuming to make. I think facesets may be enough but busts seem to add more depth. What do you think? So I ask you give me your input and ideas and opinions, people-who-chance-upon-this-topic. Sometimes I think this might be too ambitious. Your help is much appreciated. As for where this should be, maybe you guys can help me move this topic or something?

  22. For those of you keeping up with my latest project, Fantasy Impromptu, I'm still working on the following mechanics: Ultimate Skills Inspired by numerous MOBA-typed games, I've decided to add in special skills that don't quite scale with level, but have game-changing utility in battles that play well with your character's respective play styles. What I seek from you guys is feedback as to whether these would be viable, broken, or just plain unnecessary. General Rules Most ultimates have a fair bit of warm-up time so that they won't be spammed at the start of every battle; rather, used for prolonged battles. They either come with a heavy cost to the player, or a long cooldown to encourage tactical use of the skill rather than mere spamming to win. Guillaume, the Paladin As an in-game character, Guillaume plays a largely defensive role, capable of granting his teammates, and most notably himself, near invulnerability in battle. He also acts as a tank for his team, donning some of the heaviest armors in the game. Ultimate Skill: Sanctuary Surrounds all allies with a powerful shield, ignoring all damage taken for one turn. Skill Priority: Highest (goes before all other skills) Skill Cost: Low (MP) Skill Warmup: 5 turns Skill Cooldown: Very Long (12-15 turns) Rosalyn, the Marksman As an in-game character, Rosalyn has a long set up time and low defenses, but pays off with possibly the highest damage potential in the game, churning out powerful shots that pierce through armor and with high critical rates. Her role is typically that of a “glass cannonâ€, and her damage output is consistent yet massive, in most cases downing smaller enemies in one shot once she has charged up sufficiently. Ultimate Skill: Assassinate Locks on to her target, and prepares a killing blow. The next shot fired will be a guaranteed critical hit, including all attack modifiers. Skill Priority: Normal Skill Cost: Low (TP) Skill Warmup: 10 turns Skill Cooldown: Medium (7-9 turns) Oberon, The Cabalist As an in-game character, Oberon is an unusual party member – he deals in potent magical debuffs and negative energy, using unorthodox methods to keep his teammates alive, and turning the tides of battle in his team’s favor. He can curse enemies and cripple the entire enemy team with ease, indirectly contributing to his team’s survival. He is also the only party member capable of summoning dark familiars to aid in battle, effectively giving a fifth party member on top of the usual capacity of four. Ultimate Skill: Torment Plants a heavy debuff on Max HP, Max MP, ATK, DEF, MAT, MDF, AGI and LUK on all enemies on the field for 3 turns. Skill Priority: Normal Skill Cost: Medium (MP), High (50% of Current HP) Skill Warmup: 0 turns Skill Cooldown: Short (5 turns) Cally, The Druid As an in-game character, Cally is a powerful healer and support, harnessing the three elements of water, earth and wind. Primarily, Cally takes up a defensive role, protecting her teammates or impeding the offensive capabilities of her enemies using a plethora of crowd control effects, while lacking in direct damage. Ultimate Skill: Terramorph Rips apart the battlefield, creating either powerful offensive or defensive structures. Has two forms - Jagged Chasm, which creates powerful defensive rocks to shield random allies permanently, or Twisted Vines, which sends out vines to lash out at enemies and occasionally ensnare them randomly. Skill Priority: Lowest (occurs after all other skills) Skill Cost: High (MP) Skill Warmup: 10 turns Skill Cooldown: Long (12 turns) Qinglong, The Assassin As an in-game character, Qinglong deals a consistent amount of damage using a combination of offensive abilities and debuffs. He is also notoriously difficult to focus down given his arsenal of evasive moves, fitting well with his play style, favoring a “hit and run†strategy. Ultimate Skill: Death Mark Plants a debuff on a target enemy, marking it for all attacks. Every attack or skill the Assassin uses on it triggers a secondary skill, Death Blossom, which instantly deals damage to the target and shreds away 5% DEF for up to 10 stacks. The Death Mark is permanent, and only disappears when the target dies. Skill Priority: Highest Skill Cost: Negligible (MP) Skill Warmup: 0 turns Skill Cooldown: Very Long (12 turns) Violet, The Engineer As an in-game character, Violet can output a large amount of specialized, physical damage in a short span of time using her abilities. She is also capable of chaining together a powerful array of weapon strikes using her myriad devices and technologies acquired, and augment her basic spells to much higher levels. However, she has the highest percentage of MP consumption of all characters, and can potentially drain up all of her MP in four turns with two Mach Twos. Ultimate Skill: Mach Two Allows you to negate all of your basic skills' cooldowns, and chain three of them together to form a powerful attack. Depending on the skills chained, they may also trigger a fourth Combo Skill that deals more damage, or has a secondary effect. Skill Legend Barrage: Deals low Explosive physical damage to three random enemy units on the field. Laser: Deals moderate Electric physical damage to a single target. Has a chance to blind. Flamethrower: Deals moderate Fire physical damage to a single target. Has a chance to burn. (Power Drill: Unlocked at a later level) - Deals moderate Piercing physical damage to a single target. Deals more damage the more often it is used on the same target within 2 turns. Skill Combinations (examples) L+L+L: High Powered Laser. Deals Heavy Electric physical damage to a single target. High chance to blind. B+B+B: Bombardment. Deals low Explosive damage to six random enemy units on the field. F+F+F: Dragonfire. Deals moderate Fire physical damage to a single target, and negates 75% of their DEF for the next turn. P+P+P: Giga Drill Breaker. Deals heavy Piercing physical damage to a single target. Increases the damage multiplier for the next Power Drill. L+L+F: Burning Laser: Deals moderate Electric/Fire physical damage to a single target. Has a chance to blind and burn. L+L+B: Laser Barrage: Deals low Electric physical damage to three random enemy units on the field. Has a chance to blind. Skill Priority: Normal Skill Cost: Very High (MP) Skill Warmup: 0 turns Skill Cooldown: Very Short (2 turns) Iron Bull, The Berserker As an in-game character, Iron Bull can deal an astonishing amount of damage. Its mechanics are unique; when focused by enemies it becomes progressively more powerful, and deceptively harder to kill; albeit its role in the team corresponds to its penchant for getting into trouble, and favors a high-risk, high-reward gameplay style that can easily get it killed. Ultimate Skill: Rebuke Deals physical damage to all targets on the field. The lower Iron Bull's HP, the more damage dealt. Rebuke also creates a shield that increases in strength the lower Iron Bull's HP is. Skill Priority: High Skill Cost: High (TP), High (HP) Skill Warmup: 5 turns Skill Cooldown: Long (8 turns) Faust, The Elementalist As an in-game character, Faust combines small, short-burst elemental damage abilities with large, slower abilities that can affect an entire battlefield, allowing him to dish out consistent and sustained elemental damage. Faust’s abilities are weak individually, but staggeringly effective if enemies have overt weak points, which he can exploit repetitively for maximum effect. Ultimate Skill: Multicast Channels a large amount of MP into being able to cast spells twice each turn for 2 turns. Each of Faust's spells also has a secondary ability which only lasts 1 turn, and when the spells are cast on the same turn, they will have secondary effects. E.g. Casting Fireball applies Burn, which deals small DOT. Casting Fireball on a Burning target creates Explosion, dealing damage to all enemies and reapplying Burn on them. Skill Priority: Normal Skill Cost: High (MP) Skill Warmup: 5 turns Skill Cooldown: Long (8 turns) Najya, The Blademaster As an in-game character, Najya deals consistent physical damage with her attacks, mostly relying on the element of momentum. While seemingly unimpressive at first, Najya’s damage output increases the longer a battle goes on, and chipping away at a single enemy can lead to her dealing devastating blows later on. Ultimate Skill: Million Blade Starts a combo sequence that increases Najya's Momentum passive. For each stack of the passive, she gains +5 TP regen/turn and +5% ATK for 2 turns, up to 10 stacks. Najya can chain skills together to deal additional damage in a single turn. Skill Priority: Normal Skill Cost: Very High (TP) Skill Warmup: 0 turns Skill Cooldown: 1 turn Torq, The Battlemage As an in-game character, Torq is the most versatile character on the team, harnessing offensive and defensive, physical and magical abilities. While his abilities seem lacklustre compared to the specialized skillsets of his teammates, he can generally be considered a jack of all trades. Ultimate Skill: Equilibrium Causes Torq to passively shift the essences of magic. Whenever a magic-type skill is used, Torq gains +20% ATK, but loses 10% MAT. Whenever a physical-type skill is used, Torq gains +20% MAT, but loses 10% ATK. This stacks up to 4 times, and all stacks of Equilibrium are used when a skill of the other type is used. Skill is Passive. Mallory, The Alchemist As an in-game character, Mallory’s fighting styles are unique; instead of using traditional skills, she utilizes odd concoctions involving numerous reagents. Depending on the combination of reagents thrown, the flasks may create a potent firebomb or a healing elixir. As a result, her play style involves heavy memory work on the composition of reagents, but using her effectively allows her to function both as a support and effective disabler, making clutch plays that can simultaneously impede her opponents and benefit her team. Ultimate Skill: Peng Blood Mallory infuses her next potion with Peng Blood, adding a bonus effect to the potion. e.g. Adding Peng Blood to an Exploding Cocktail causes it to split into four smaller cocktails and explode at four random enemies. Skill Priority: Normal Skill Cost: Low (MP) Skill Warmup: 3 turns Skill Cooldown: Short (4 turns) Andre, The Monk As an in-game character, Andre has above average defensive stats, and his offensive moves primarily consist of multi-hit attacks that deal significant damage to lowly armored enemies. He can empower his own attacks based on his defensive stats, and can gain immunity to most crowd control effects. Ultimate Skill: Holy Cleanse Andre purges himself of all debuffs with divine will. This skill can be activated even if Andre is stunned or paralyzed. Skill Priority: Normal Skill Cost: Medium (MP) Skill Warmup: 5 turns Skill Cooldown: Medium (6 turns) Ballantine, The Gambler As an in-game character, Ballantine is a risky character to play, highly dependent on luck, and has an unpredictable attack power and style. His skills may either severely cripple the enemy or burden his team, but when Lady Luck is on your side, Ballantine can possibly overpower, and outshine, any other character on the team. Ultimate Skill: Midas Touch Ballantine uses an unusual form of magic to deliver a fatal blow to the target, dealing anywhere between 0 to (Level*LUK*4) Pure damage to the target. If the target dies from this skill, it not only gives additional Cash when killed, but deals 0 to (Level*LUK) in Pure damage to one other enemy on the field. Does not ignore MDF. Skill Priority: Normal Skill Cost: High (MP) Skill Warmup: 5 turns Skill Cooldown: Long (8 turns) Yulianna, The Mage Hunter As an in-game character, Yulianna is a situational character who solely functions as a debuffer, inhibiting the enemy's ability to deal serious damage to the party using magical attacks. Her expertise allows her to study enemies to pinpoint weak points, and if all else fails, to tear open a new one. Ultimate Skill: Nether Gate Using an otherworldly form of magic she gained from the dark forces that overpowered her years ago, Yulianna tears open the fabric of time and banishes a single target for 3 turns. While banished, the target is unable to do anything, but cannot be attacked by players either. Skill Priority: Lowest Skill Cost: High (MP) Skill Warmup: 10 turns Skill Cooldown: Very Long (11 turns)
  23. So I'm 100% new to RPG Maker Anything, and I've had this story half fleshed out for a bit anyhow. I'm writing pages on it, and I thought maybe a quick RPG making thing could help me out. I'll lay out some background, then ask the questions. "No one knows how the world started, or where humans came from. They only know that there has always been a power that flows through some of them. A few were gifted with a force known as the Resonance that allows them to manipulate their surroundings to various degrees. They were given the name, Mundai. Some of these people become so powerful, they no longer need physical bodies. They find ways to transcend and become ethereal beings of immense power, able to work miracles or rain down destruction. Again, no one knows how this happened, and even some of the most powerful Mundai were never transformed. They were worshiped as gods, and they might as well have been for all the power they wielded. At the pinnacle of their times, there were 12. Each nation worshiped their chosen deities. Soon though the Gods became jealous of each other, and having once been human, acted as humans would. They began wars with each other, having their worshipers fight large battles in their honor. The more followers a god could muster, the more powerful they became. Over time, a god named Arithor decided that to gain an advantage, he would take a physical form and sleep with a human to produce a demi-god offspring. This child was born with great understanding of the Resonance, and could easily turn the tide of any battle. Soon, many of the other gods followed suit. They appoint their children as lords over the humans, subjugating them even more. At this point in time, some humans began to harbor a great mistrust and hatred of their once caring gods. They began to denounce their allegiances and withdrew to the edges of the world, seeking to escape the constant bloodshed. They believed it was not the gods' right to interfere with human affairs. They found a sanctuary in a city named Pallisad. The gods cared little to this emerging faction, too focused on each other. Sometime early in the creation of demi-gods, two demi gods met and fell in love. Their child was born with near infinite power. The current gods saw this as a threat to their places, and took the child away. Each told the demi-gods that they were not allowed to harbor feelings for each other, or their children would suffer. Eventually, the son of Arithor found a daughter of Melendar on the battlefield. His army was victorious over hers, and she was captured. Their codes forced them to kill an enemy god's child on sight, yet Faloir could not bring himself to kill Seyru. He took her as a prisoner, but never restrained her. Seyru had many opportunities to leave, but she was drawn to him. Eventually, they had a child. Knowing that the gods would kill him, Faloir and Seyru had him in secret and left him in a human orphanage in the far lands that the mistrusting humans had settled. To fully seal the deception, both agreed that Faloir had to kill Seyru. Over time, the godless cities grow and grow. A few gods view this as a threat, and aim to show their worshipers that disobedience would be punished. They merge forces and march on the godless towns, burning them down. By the time they make it to Pallisad, Faloir and Seyru's child had grown into a young man. He gathered followers to march against the invading armies of the gods. He is the first of the demi-gods to revolt." And this is where the game starts. The forces are attacking Pallisad, and Faloir's son (Valdus) is marshaling an army of peasants. The player character will be one of those peasants. Through the course of the game you will witness Valdus's rise and fall, the story of the main nations (Hudlun and Andogge) as well as the fall of the gods. The player will be an integral part all of these events. The game will focus on themes of Honor, Trust, Fate, Friendship, Love, and Death. The game will be linear, because I can't code. At all. Besides, it is easier to tell a story and get a point across this way. I don't want to build up anything super cool, then end it like Mass Effect did. Names are subject to change, probably for the better. If you have an idea, post it please. I suck at this. I don't want to get spoilerific, so I don't go past the start too much. Also, I actually started writing a story that is set in a modern day fantasy realm, then wanted to find the history to that world... and I came up with this. Hundlun and Andogge are the two rival countries in that world, and in this one they are one. So, questions. Does this sound promising? I have a stable of characters, and wonder how many most of you guys and gals are putting into your games? Does any of this sound cliched to heck? Can you give me better names? Do you want to finish this story and see how it ends? Do you care how many gods there are? And whatever else you guys want to comment on. map attached. Gonna make it game friendly in game. North America is for scale. Any questions please ask.
  24. Save your Mother Abstract: Save your Mother is an upcoming commercial version of a highly succesful RPG Maker game that was created within the span of one month for the "Quest for Fun" contest. The original version won the first place and was downloaded by 39288 people before the download was removed. The commercial version improves on every single aspect of the original, including making many things from the ground up fresh and new, keeping many things that made the old game work but also improving on the format enough for a commercial release. Genre: Fantasy Engine: RPG Maker VX Ace Story I'll let this intro video tell the story. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQox4_yPPnw Setting The game takes place in the same Megaverse as all my other projects, as such there is a rich and robust world to build with the mythos of over 15 years of game making. The timeline for the game takes place about 500 years in the New World after the Old World was destroyed by the War of Gods, if anyone is interested or well versed in my mythos. Characters There are quite several colorful characters in the game, here are just few important ones. Alice Alice is the main character of the game, as well as the avatar the player controls throughout the game. She is a renowed scholar nicknamed "Silver Scholar" due to the coloring of her hair. She uses her knowledge and skills to find out about the legend of Elohim Cube as well as making use of it in solving the various tasks that wait inside. Jenna Jenna is the rival you meet early into the game. She wants to obtain the cube as well for her own sake, though she wishes to sell the cube and earn a fortune from it. Jenna is unlike Alice, very streetsmarts girl and doesn't shy away from using dirty tactics. She and Alice are against each other but for no personal reason but rather them both having a common goal. Elisa Elisa is the mother of Alice who has grown ill. Alice knows that nothing can cure her mother but the Elohim Cube, she has already tried everything but no ailment has worked, not even out of ordinary cures. The game ends if she dies. Credits Story by me Characters by me Art by Mamabliss Character graphics by CosmicKitty Music by Joel Steudler Scripts by Moghunter, Yanfly, Victor Saint and Modern Algebra. Screenshots Features - A game about puzzle and action, very gameplay oriented adventure - Fast paced combat with epic, grand special moves. - Engaging characters and plot - Characters lips move as they talk and they blink and act naturally, unique feature in RPG Maker games! - Beautiful 2D visuals and inspiring soundtrack does invoke feelings of fear, awesomeness, and getting you pumped up for the challenges. - Achievements (possibly) FAQ Q: Will there be a Kickstarter/Indiegogo/Whatever? A: Sadly, no. While I would love nothing more than to get a fundraiser to be able to pay off some extra resources as well as possibly hiring voice actors, my country's idiotic laws prevent me from doing so. Everything about this game has been funded directly from my personal money that I was saving for years for this exact reason. Q: I'm a composer and I'd like to do the soundtrack for this game, how do I come about to contacting you? A: As flattered as I am, I sadly had to turn away already two very talented soundtrack artists. To be 100% honest, the game already has soundtrack and I've already paid for it.
