Lords of the Wasteland
McTone posted a topic in Archived Games -Projects that have been inactive for 12 months are stored here.
Introduction Lords of the Wasteland is an RPG with elements from a variety of styles. The world in which the story takes place, Mundi, is a world of many cultures and each area reflects that visually, by the actions of the residents, and by their interactions with other areas. My goal in creating this game was to explore the interactions of the characters and cultures more than to drive the plot forward. I have intentionally left out a lot of exposition and hand holding in order to create a more "in the moment" experience for the players. Ultimately, I want the entire game to reflect that from the visuals to the gameplay. I have also attempted to inject humor where I can (my sense of humor will become apparent rather quickly), and make this a game that knows what it is. I am aware that there exist some shortcomings and I hope to overcome those with the help of your critiques and my own hard work. So I would like feedback to be very honest, and as specific as is reasonable. Now, on to the nuts and bolts. Setting Characters Features Screenshots Future Updates/Known Issues Credits I hope you enjoy the game and please be specific and critical. I'm attached to this project and I want to see it grow. Without further ado, the demo!: Demo Download Version 1.02: Smaller file size Fixed bugs with followers (for real this time!) There are a few scenes where I've used the Pop Message system. I may go to this for the whole game. Not sure yet. I know there are issues in these scenes with faces fitting on the screen. Any other issues, please let me know. Version 1.01: Improved NPC followers so I didn't have to disable dash. Corsair town completely redone. Belly of the Beast map reduced in size and made less...tedious Other graphical fixes New checkables and such Minor bug fixes In the next update: Even more checkables Some condensing of a few maps Anything else pertinent that comes up from comments Maybe Pop Messages... Demon Slayer Z Download Here! Abstract This game was created for the Encounters of the Boss Kind contest event held over at rpgmakerweb.com in celebration for RPG Maker’s 24th birthday. It placed 3rd with a tie between my entry and Lamia must die! by MISTER BIG T (you can actually also download and play his entry as well!). Effectively, this is a microgame requiring less than an hour to complete. It consists only of a couple of cutscenes and a boss, using only RTP and no scripts what-so-ever. Story The story is really simple actually. And cliched as crud, but that’s kinda the point. The game takes the format of a single episode from a series of games, but thrusts you in near the end to fight the second to last boss. The story up to this point is basically that the big-bad Demon Lord had possessed a little girl and threatened to destroy the world in 7 days. The heroes of our tale stand up and go on a journey to stop him. Yeah. That’s pretty much it. Characters Hiro, The Swordsaint Hero: Hiro takes the place of the party’s hero. He fancies himself to be the leader of the group when in fact the more definitive leader is probably Heila. Hiro lampoons shonen anime with his portrayal as a samurai with ridiculously named attacks. He uses a sword in combat and focuses on generating TP to use his ultimate attack. He also functions as a backup healer. Heila, The Shieldmaiden: Heila is the party’s tank and healer. She’s the real leader of the party, though she’s generally rather uptight and realistic. She’s a no-nonsense type of person. Heila has next to no real damage output, but can taunt attacks onto her and has several self-buffing and self-healing abilities. She also has a weak party-wide heal that also removes status conditions and a panic-heal that takes half of her health and gives it to someone else. Mahjee, The Manaburner: Mahjee is the party’s mage. He’s missing a few screws and is a complete pyromaniac. He looks up to Heila as a sister, despite them not being related at all. He absolutely loves to set things on fire, and all of his spells involve fire in some way. Mahjee’s core mechanic is that his spells deal more damage based on how much mana he currently has, causing him to deal more damage early on while it simmers down the longer the fight goes until her can recover. The Desperado, The Man Without a Name: The Desperado is the party’s wildcard character. I decided to make him a kind of utility-damager because the party needed something like that still. The Desperado is a mysterious character whose reasons for joining the party to save the world are unknown even to them; however he’s a good shot and has been helpful so they’ve kept him around. He’s a bit snarky though, which annoys Heila to all ends. The Desperado is a character based around luck, from his randomly-targeting attacks to his reliance on critical hits. His signature move is Tack Driver, which hits a random number of times with each successive hit having a lesser chance of triggering than the one before it. There is approximately a 2.5% chance that it will hit with all of its shots and have an additional special effect. Credits Game by gcook725 Testing by Raiok and Rhymxr No additional resources outside of the RTP are used No additional scripts outside of the default engine are used Screenshots Features A short microgame that shouldn’t take more than an hour to complete. A semi-challenging boss fight with hints included should you fail. An unencrypted game to be used as a tool by newer RM’ers to learn how the battle and cutscenes were created and set up. Known Issues: None for now. I fixed a couple that were present when I submitted the entry originally. If you find any gimme a shout and I’ll get them fixed up!

Dante's Inferno

Game Title: Dante's Inferno Genre: Puzzle, Romance, Non-Commercial, Horror Warning, contains images of violence, sexually suggestive images, but not together in the same image. Thankfully. Updates *new About the World: Story: *Note: There will be no "battle" as there will be running from things that will kill you instead. What I hope to accomplish: I want to make an engaging, engrossing, interactive and mature puzzle/story that personifies my thoughts and observations about human psychology, despair and denial. I want to make you question the decisions you make in the game as difficult choice after choice will significantly change the outcome of the story. I want you to try and see things from the perspective of someone is not psychologically upright and feel sorry for him as he stumbles through the world, at first, not caring if he lives or dies. By creating this story, hopefully, questions about psychology and cognition will arise in your mind and you'll ponder them for some time. Character Bios: Screenshots: WARNING, CONTAINS IMAGES SOME READERS MAY FIND UNSUITABLE. This is going to be a horror game, after all. Ultimate Awakening 2: Infinity RMVXACE: The Show Room Current Trailer: Story: A Boy with blue hair spawns in a dark background filled with small, dark, ominous, but cute creatures. His battle is almost over as he closes into a huge gate, sadly that gate has a trench full of the monsters Labeled,"Sokkaida". Can he make it out safely? That all depends on you... This game is created with RMVXACE but along with that, there are many cutscenes that involve my 3D animations and art. During combat you can even pull off 3D moves to help better the gameplay and get you out of tight spots during the game. You'll usually find skills like these lying around in the awakening skill tab during a boss fight. Example: Current Length: 1 hour I consider this a demo. Characters: Shojiki Age - 15 Desc. - Skilled in combat and has mysterious blue hair. Weapon - Stardust Breaker(One-Handed Sword) Rein Age - 45 Desc. Old but powerful enough to shatter a good amount of his surroundings if he wanted to. Weapon - Energy Gauntlets I sort of added a chapter/episode system to make it seem more cool I guess. -Divinity Fatum-
GreyInvidia posted a topic in Archived Games -Projects that have been inactive for 12 months are stored here.
Genre Adventure, Horror, Psychological Demo Length Around 2-4 hours (depending on how long player will wander) Current Progress Approximately 70% LP Video Author's Note Long time ago, probably influenced by quite depressing weather, that lasted for few days I’ve decided to create a certain game in which I wanted to reflect my thoughts at that time. At first it wanted to just create an abandoned, seemingly endless city in which player would wander around. It was supposed to be just a pointless “game" at that time. When I seriously started working on it, I began to come up with some ideas for events. Later on, I menaged to make something, vaguelly resembling a plot. Work was going on well for a while. But at some point, I just somehow neglected whole game, and it was left unfinished. Few years later, I felt like I should try finish making this game. I dig out some of my old notes holding vague informations about plot and tried to somehow improve it beforehand. But rather than improve current plot, I came up with story, explaining how main heroine ended up in place from Divinity Fatum. That’s how idea for the prequel game was born, and that’s how I started working on Divinity Fatum :Birth:. In theory, :Birth: was supposed to be more linear and story-like, but I wasn’t really that concerned about that. I just wanted to tell a certain story. However, I couldn’t really use graphics from the first game, as first - they didn’t fit the atmosphere of the game, and second - I wasn’t finding them appealing anymore. Thus I’ve created most of the graphics from scratch once again, and slowly worked on the game. I was also polishing the story alone, and in the meantime I came up with something, that could be called a final part of the series. The idea of Divinity Fatum Trilogy was born that way. However, shortly after my joy of coming up with almost complete plot, I’ve meet with some technical problems so bothersome that they made me neglect :Birth: as well. Thus, second game was abandoned in it’s early stage, while the final one was never even created. Few more years have passed and now here I am - once again returning to Divinity Fatum. This time I’ve decided to recreate first game and merge ideas from all three games into this one. First thing I did was switching from RPG Maker XP to RPG Maker VX Ace. Both have flaws, but Ace seems to let me avoid certain technical problems, that I had while making previous games. I changed story a bit to suit the current idea, and added some new things overall. Also, because my skills got better over all these years, and I’ve gained a lot of experience in the meantime, working on this game seems to go very fluid. I hope that this time I won’t fail. Story Protagonist of the story - whose name we're not granted to know - finds herself in desolate, endless city. Not remembering anything about herself, nor knowing how she ended in this place, her only choice is to wander around town in hope of finding a way to escape. On her journey she finds certain clues, slowly leading her to an answer of what this city is and most important - who, or rather what she really is. As mentioned in summary above, this game’s story takes place in endless city, which player has to explore in order to find new clues. Concept of the game was somewhat based on “Yume Nikkiâ€, when it comes to wandering and exploration part. However be aware that instead of having many small, yet diversed maps, you walk around big city in which it is almost sure that player will get lost. Because of that it is advised to play this game only if you consider yourself patient enough and able to immerse yourself with the story. For these who just want to go for the story, without experiencing feeling of being lost, and immersing themselves into atmosphere of the game, I wrote a pretty much spoiler-free walkthrough with few additional instructions. It pretty much only tells where events are located. Hope it’ll help: http://pastebin.com/6s70ht0A Characters In game we take control over nameless female protagonist. Story revolves around slowly figuring out who she is. Because of that, there is no further need to describe her. Unholy Sword
fbu posted a topic in Archived Games -Projects that have been inactive for 12 months are stored here.
Welcome to the official page of the game: BETA Version 1.0 already available! BETA VERSION 1.0 FEATURES: * 2h~3h of gameplay; * 1 Full Side-Quest ready to complete; * Fight Club available; * Open World with many areas ready to explore! DOWNLOAD LINKS: - Dropbox (Click here...) RTP OF RPG MAKER VX ACE REQUIRED! To play this game you will need to have the Run-Time Package of RPG Maker VX Ace installed in your pc. Click here to download the RTP for free... In Unholy Sword, you will play a quest where your objective will be saving the world. However, you won't save the world from some heinous boss or an evil creature. You are that evil creature! You are Balbino, the half-orc half-human destined to take part in an adventure against the forces of goodness. And who would be threatening our evil and nasty world? The boring RTP heros. Of course! (Adam, Leticia, Clark, Lilian and Adrien) But don't despair! The game creator will help you with an evil group... each of this guys has a motivation (or not). It's up to you to join forces and work out the forces of evil. So, we have... Prince Lulu, the son of the Great White Dragon (GWD). But I wouldn't trust in his strength. There is a great problem with this guy... not even the Great White Dragon has yet managed to solve... his son is addicted to social networks. This will include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram... sometimes he will take a snapshot during the adventure and post it on his social profiles. See, he doesn't care for his evil blood, as long as he reaches the 5000 Friends on his Facebook Page. Can you help him? Can you end his addiction? (It's a retoric question, don't answer it, no one believes in your skills...!) Then we have Merlin, a very dangerous and crazy sorcerer. He is a cool guy, though. This is not Harry Potter where you have a magic wand and your spell jumps out of it! Merlin uses a very special guitar to unlock his tremendous power! He helps the group because his evil brother was killed by the heros of the game. He obviously seeks revenge for his loss. And finally, we have Irina, a sexy succubus who will join the group in order to conquer Lulu's heart. She has a thing for power and wants to forge a promising destiny. Being in the family of the Great White Dragon would be a big deal for her! Can she win the prince's heart? (Who knows... not me... I never lose control.) And this is your main adventure... then we have... SIDE QUESTS! The Side-Quests are a fun way to explore the world map, visit many new locations and keep the player interested in the adventure! I don't want to create a huge game with lots of side-quests. I'm plan to include three side-quests, each of them lasting at least 1 hr of gameplay. Why only three? Well, I'm just one guy and I have a trauma with big projects. I can never finish them. So, let's keep it simple but fun, shall we? #1 ~ AHOY, BRING ME AN ALE! HIC... The first side-quest is already included in the beta version 1.0. A quest for a lost treasure in Yürn's Island. It features a new island with new locations: a forest, a pirate village, several dungeons a lost temple with hidden treasures and one oasis area where you can fight many thieves... To start this quest, talk to the barman in the tavern of the Bloody Hecatomb. He then will tell you to talk with the Cabin Boy! Don't forget to bring some dybriks, the coin of the game... you will need some to start your adventure! TITLE SCREEN: EXPLORABLE AREAS: DIALOGUES: IN BATTLE: FIGHT CLUB: SIDE QUESTS: WORLD MAP: 1. Battle. Battle a lot. (To win EXP & Dybriks) There is a golden rule I created for every RPG I play: battle. Battle a lot. Never run away from a battle you know you can win! It's never a waste of time. Specially in Unholy Sword you won't have an hard time with enemies! The battle only begins when an enemy's sprite catches you in the map. So, you can always run from him (actually, not always). If you kill the nemy, he will disappear temporarily from the map. If you return to it later, he will be there again. This way you can always battle foes to win more EXP and Dybriks! 2. Complete the Fight Club! (You will receive amazing items...!) It's a fun place to dwell for a while. You will meet funny characters, battle in a fun way (if you enjoy Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, you will love this!), and you will unlock rooms with awesome treasures like huge amounts of dybriks, vital potions, dusts to increase your ATK and DEF points, and you will find a variety of weapons and armours! And the good thing about battling in the Fight Club. Even if you lose, the game doesn't punishes you! 3. Buy Snake's Teeth! (Some enemies are a drag... don't get poisoned!) Snake's Teeth prevents your character from a poisoned death. Buy this item whenever you can! It's not expensive, and you will need to use it sometimes... 4. Explore your map! Touch everything... (You never know until you click...!) From hidden treasures to talkative plaques. Press Z everywhere. Maybe you will find a cave with treasures or a chest hidden in the trees! 5. Report bugs and language mistakes! (To improve the game's quality...) It's not really a trick or an hint. You know, I'm one guy only on this... so, there's a big chance you will find a bug or two... or three... or four... I don't know. And I'm portuguese, which means I may spell a word wrong or write a weird sentence. If you don't understand something, please contact me! In the game you will find my e-mail and I will always be ready to solve any bugs/errors that you may find in the game. I would really appreciate this. Thanks! (ABOUT THE GAME) 1. When will you finish this junk? I want to have it ready before halloween's eve! Who knows. It depends on my will and also from the feedback I receive from you. Yes, you! Comment the game! Don't just read the topic and leave. Don't do that... oh well, if you really have to! 2. When did you started this project? When schools was out for summer! Yeah. According to the date that the game folder was created, I would say around 8th of July. But I started a draft of the game in September 2012. At the time I was using Rm2k3. Good thing I lost the project... Local switches save a lot of time, I tell you that! 3. Why choosing an evil dude for protagonist? Because evil characters are always fun! Think about it... heros are dull, with an overrated sense of justice. They are dumb. The evil guy is always smarter. Also, how would I have a story otherwise? And I don't have to worry with the moral laws and lessons the player will get in the end... but, should I worry with that? Hehe. 4. Can Balbino's condition be considered a racist topic in the game? Absolutely! It conditions his life in several ways. He will never be considered totally evil because he has a human side. That's bad for him. He wants it so bad, you know, to prove the world his evilness, that he will end up doing crazy things. Racism is, sadly, still a big social problem today. If you are black and live in a country where most people are white, you might face some really bad situations. Mostly because people are mean. The same thing will happen to a white person if he travels to Jamaica. Some people may not trust you at first! That's a result of a racist mind. But let's not discuss this here. It's just a topic in the game to make you think about it! 5. Is this game free? Free as the air you breed! Unless the government has been selling that too...!(ABOUT ME) 1. Are you portuguese? I'm a portuguese from Portugal! Many makers that are portuguese are brazilian. That's not the case. However, I take part in almost every brazilian community... we have amazing game creators and very kind people ready to help you! Also, there are loads of good games and resources from brazilian makers. Not portuguese. There are not many portuguese people in the RPG Maker area. (Sad... sniff, sniff...) 2. Since when do you mess with RPG Maker? I found out about it when I was 12. I started my participation in RPG Maker communities around 14. Good times! I started my campaign in the deceased RPG Maker Brasil. I hold good memories from this place... where I met loads of brazilian friends... and never completed a game! Hehe. 3. Do you have more games besides Unholy Sword? Well, I do have two projects that were never finished: Alex and the Lost Temple [RM2k3] ("Alex e o Templo Perdido" in portuguese), a comedy game where you played with Alex. It was a tribute to this hero who was forgotten by the maker community once RPG Maker VX came out! Cacildes and The Cursed Curse [RMVX Ace] ("Cacildes e a Maldição do Mal" in portuguese), a comedy-sandbox-adventure game where you played with a fat dude named Cacildes along with a stroller philosopher named Sidónio, a kind king of Hell who is doomed to live in a human exile for being to good for people and a half-orc half-human being named Balbino! Haha, that's right. Balbino has his roots on this old project of mine. I never finished it because it became too big... but I still love this project. It's wonderfully big. The land is full of life. The history and the mythos of a place named Skalya are for me one of my best creations in my Game Developing journey. Google the projects to find out more! They are both in portuguese, so you better be fond of the lusitanic language! 4. Which are your favorite RPG Maker games? I love the games of a brazilian guy named JPA. He created this comedy trilogy where you play a fat guy named Rhygar. It's just insane. And I think the third game has 30 hours of gameplay. Then he created Drunkmaster 1 and 2. They became my RPG Maker inspirational works! From RPG Maker.net, I only played one game to the end: Epic Elf. I just loved it. It was produced by Spirit_Young and tells the story of Dagree in a land called Vitality Island. Now there is an Epic version, man. Need to take some time to replay it all! Click here to see the full "Special Thanks" list... If you are not on the credits but still you have helped me somehow, please contact me so I can edit this section! And forgive me for forgotten you! Known Issues: * No critical bugs were known to the date. * However, the beta tester has reported that some characters and items are still in portuguese and therefore, not yet translated! This will be fixed in future versions. And that's all! Download the game. Have a great time, and come back to tell me what you thought of it... even if you are in a bad mood and need to load your negative energies on someone! Thank you for wasting your time reading my game. I hope you have a fun time! Good games! Bye. Last update: 7/August/2013 -
Jack's Shack

Jack's Shack Abstract: The everyday life of a simple huntsman. Genre: Fantasy RPG. Average Demo Time: Takes me about an hour to reach and beat the boss, but there are still optional things that can be done after that. Game Progression: Done - I just don't feel comfortable attempting to submit this to the Masterpiece Theatre without gathering some feedback first. Story / Setting / Purpose: Jack's Shack does not follow any particular story; it's just a short game about a hunter/gatherer doing his job each day. There is one objective though - to access the mine by your house and clear it out. Character Bios: Jack: A simple huntsman who may or may not be aware of his position as a video game character. Alicia: Jack's wife and meteorologist. Credits: RyuNacho - Game Dev Tsukihime - Timer Script Screenshots: http://s10.photobucket.com/user/RyuNacho/library/Jack%20Shack?sort=3&page=1 Features: This is a mostly RTP only project made in a week for an off-site competition. It features a simple battle system based on preparation outside of battle as much as strategy in battle; weather which affects battles, maps, and spawns; a day/night cycle; and randomized spawns which are set at the beginning of each day. Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?dm1p1eagmgg44el Previous download had a small bug; if you happened to dl it before this, there will be some timer glitches. My apologies. Known Issues: None. Other: Please be completely and brutally honest with me if you give this game a try. This is my first real project, and I need to know what I should or shouldn't have done if I'm going to improve (besides not using custom assets lol). Thanks.
