Hello, thanks for taking the time to check out my issue. I'm working on a "unique" battle mechanic for my project in RPGMAKER 2k3. It's something reminiscent to a "limit" bar from FF7, where it fills up and you can do certain attacks and obtain certain buffs for a certain small period of time. I made the bar and did the code for it to fill up, and so far it works well. However, the bar is shown in the battle through the use of a status effect (with an empty bar being a "normal" state and a bar with 1 tick or charge being an actual status effect), and it creates issues with other status effects I have. For example (and to serve as the most relevant one), the bar will fill up, then a status like Poison will be inflicted. Poison will stay on the character for a little bit, but once it disappears, the bar will be shown as being empty before the code continues, proceeding to show the actual bar that *should* be displayed. Is there any way to fix this? (More specifically, is there any way to make a status effect revert to another after it is done?) -

heya, i never expected to see myself posting on here when most of the questions i wanted to ask were already answered, but here i am regardless so, in a test project im working on, im trying to create a "border" effect along the walls, as shown in the screenshot below, courtesy of yume nikki and yume 2kki. circled is the part im talking about i made a new map inside yume nikki to try and test the border out and see if i should try and make similar sized borders to my own game, but came across a problem the walls don't flow uniformly. is there a fix to this? i've been dealing with this for over 2 days nonstop, using various methods, to no avail, and i'd be lying if it wasn't driving me insane. any and all help is greatly and sincerely appreciated. -
rpg maker 2k3 RM2K3 - Text Box Sound Effects?

Heyo. I've been working on a game in RPG Maker 2003 for a few months now, and I find that the overworld is fairly drab, thanks to not having many sound effects. I want to solve this by adding some blip sounds that play while dialogue shows up, like how it happens in Earthbound. You know what I mean. Since RPG Maker 2003 isn't really compatible with scripts, I'm trying to find a solution in the event editor. I made a long looping sequence of the blip sound and made into a sound effect. My idea was to add the sound effect right before the first block of text showing up, and then have the sound effect stop right after it. But because the trigger is set to action button, this doesn't work. Does anybody have any solutions or other ways I can achieve what I'm going for? Any help is appreciated. -

Hello everybody! Uran here (I'm an italian newcomer). I wanted to show you 5 years of hard-work, I mean my RPG-game called Skydancer. The game is almost ready and I HOPE to release a complete version in September 2017. Let's start to talk about it... Skydancer differs from the usual stereotypes of the classic JRPG. No crystals No evocations, No Magic. SkyD is Set in a hypothetical post-atomic Japan in the year 2104 in a dystopian future where anarchy reigns. The island is full of destroyed villages (do you like fist of the north star\Hokuto no ken? Well Skydancer is the perfect game for you ) with just one civilized metropolis called:Neo Tokyo ruled by a self-proclaimed emperor: Seijuro Godha, who easily obtained the consent of its inhabitants with a promise to restore the island to its original pre-war splendor through a precisely very ambitious reconstruction project called: Heaven Prime. You will play as a Tatsuke Sanji, some kind of future samurai stereotype equipped with a futuristic version of a lightsaber and a mecha arm and Shin Tanaka, a fearsome master of a deadly martial art that involves the use of Ki's energy to hit his opponents: the "Denryoku jutsu". Their stories, initially unconnected will intertwine giving rise to what is the main plot of Skydancer. Characters: Tanaka Shin. He is a wanderer of the "Deadzone", without a goal in his life.He is a master of a deadly martial art called Denryoku Jutsu. Together with Sanji, he is the protagonist of the game. Sanji Tatsuke Sanji is a post-atomic warrior with a Mecha-arm and a lightsaber (Called Musane Hikari). Sanji fights to free Neo Tokyo from the tyranny of Seijuro Godha (self proclaimed emperor of the whole Japan). Sanji is the main head of a couple of warrior\rebels called "Wokujin". Gunner My preferite one! He is a badass, junkie, punk of the dead zone.I don't want to do any spoiler about this character. Well, just play it XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Can't spoiler anything about this There are 2 others playable characters in the game but I don't want to show them yet. Here some pictures... Combat system: Features: Skydancer has a huge custom menu and a very innovativle battle system. The battle system provides many features such as the innovative use of the directional keys (to give a direction to your attacks) shift (to change your fight stance or switch between Red shape lightsaber or blue shape lightsaber for Sanji guy) , Enter (to use a very useful item called Jammershell) and 0 (numeric keypad). It features a combo system (which will allow you to hit more times the selected enemy causing more damage in a single turn) a level up system "chessboard like" (very similar to one seen in final fantasy x) a completely custom menu and many other features minutely described in the tutorial of the game (protoshell system, fatality system to get more exp in battle etc ...). There is a demo version of the game lasting 4 hours but is completely in Italian. I will translate the game in En. THis is a video of the opening XD And if you want to see something about the game, this is a "let's play" made yesterday for an Italian channel. Sorry for the bad English. All the characters, portraits, the battle music (boss battle and regular battle), are made only for this game by my team (Uran, Vinc90, Adrian Roszak and Polakko). Best! Uran.
