  1. Return problem

Okay, this is a frustrating problem. When the player levels up, I've created a skill tree, so the player can choose what skill they want. I want to take the player from say, for example, map A, where they are when they level up, to map B, where the skill tree is, then send them back to Map A, where they initially were. The Common Event I'm using for the Level ups: 1st line has Control Variables [0011: Elf Female level] = [Elf female]'s level Line 2 is a Conditional Branch Switch for Warrior chosen, so the Common Event knows to take the player to the Warrior tree. Line 3 is a Conditional Branch Variable [0011: Elf Female level] == 2 Line 4 is a Conditional Branch Switch [Level 2 reached] == Off. Line 5 is Control Variable [0017: return map ID] = [Map ID] Line 6 is Control Variable [0018: return x] = Player's Map x Line 7 is Control Variable [0019: return y] = Player's Map y Then I fadeout screen and Transfer Player to the Warrior tree map, flip a switch Return = On, and flip the Switch [Level 2 reached] On, then fadein screen. So, this should save the map and coordinates where the player was when they level up, right? Trouble is, it's not working correctly. The event in the skill the player selects, once they get to the Warrior tree, after the skill is granted, I have Transfer Player: Variable [0017][0018][0019] and the Return switch is set Off, but when the player is transferred, they are still on the Warrior tree, not where they were when they leveled up. So, to summarize, I use a Common Event to acknowledge the player has leveled up, it's supposed to remember where they were and on what map they were, then transfer them to the correct level up tree, then when they select a skill, they are supposed to go back to the map they started on. What am I doing wrong? Thank you, James
  2. Day/Night Cycle

Day/Night Cycle By me Greedski Description A pretty simple day/night script with a pretty simple clock Everything you need is in the header Script https://gist.github.com/Greedski/da52090d602daf744e0ad52bef1c3ba9 You can leave any bug reports at the comments of GitHub or in the fórum.
  3. Hey! In my project, I'm using Hime's Learn Condition Formulas script, which allows you to set formulas that determine if an actor can access a skill. Could someone help me create a condition that will only allow access to a skill if the actor already knows skill 170? Thank you!
  4. First of all, I do NOT know if this would require an external script, or if this could be done with just a few modifications, but here's what I'm looking for. Okay, so we have the following in event commands: Name Input Conditional Branch: Actor has ' ' name applied Whoa, hold up. Right there, you have enough for a password/code system. One issue: It asks for a different name, and there's not a way to change that, from what I've seen. Like, how would one change 'Enter Name', to 'Enter Password' or 'Enter Code', and so on? Anyone who could help with this, much appreciated, merci beaucoup!
  5. Alright. So, I figured this out, with some contextual aid, but for those of you looking to simplify messages, or however this may be useful to you, here's how to store the price of any item in a variable. Event Command Set Variable Script $data_items[00].price Replace 00 with the item ID (like Potion is ID 1 by default), and when the variable is set, it will be set with the price as defined in the DB (by default a potion's price is 50). You can also do this with $data_armors and $data_weapons to get the prices of those. One example of this being useful is in messages. "A Potion costs \v[1]\G." This way, if the DB changes, you don't have to alter potentially hundreds of messages to match the DB change. Yup, that's really all there is to it.
  6. Replace HP bar with graphics

Good morning! As the title says, I´m looking for a script that changes the HP bar in all it´s instances for a graphic of my choice (for example, hearts), as it happens in Omori (https://youtu.be/nV0BST2nifk?t=1m34s) or The Legend of Zelda (https://youtu.be/vveE93wGN4I?t=4m8s). Also, I should be able to edit the value in HP per symbol (1Heart = 10HP, etc). This is not strictly necessary though. I hope someone can help me with this. Thank you in advance c:
  7. I've been dealing with a lot of garbage as of late, so progress has slowed to a trickle. I'm actually still figuring out story and locations related to story. That part has been difficult to do. Also, I keep running into bugs with syntax, a lot of times in battle due to some sort of conflict or NoMethodError nonsense or a number of other things. Some of it I've been able to correct, some I've had to disable scripts to avoid, and some I've come across due to Game_Interpreter being stupid, that of which I've decided to avert by doing some really shoddy backhacking. I've also been testing out some of the modifiers I've made to existing scripts, and I recently made a fix to one of my own. I made a scriptlet that changes the Dash button. I made it so that one could bind it to a switch, or to a variable (I've not written that out as of yet but I know how to write it). However, if one uses Yanfly's System Options, my scriptlet breaks Autodash, if one changes the Dash button (it works fine if left unchanged). So, I figured out exactly what runs Autodash, and incorporated it into a scriptlet. Took me about ten minutes. It works. Well, other than scripting...I've progressed very little elsewhere. I'm trying to cobble together all the possible summons, but to be honest, I kinda wanna go further into the game and see where that goes before designing those further. However, until those are done, I won't be able to redo the skills for each one. I have a few NPC characters done, and I've also resized some small battlers so that they can look like they're not meant to be on a Game Boy Advance screen. I'm getting there; unfortunately my excursion with MV was a big distraction, and it did kind of take from my creative energies towards this project. Well, anyway, until next time, true believers...
  8. Hey, I'm having an odd issue with using Venka's Beastiery Logbook ( https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/bestiary-logbook-v1-8-updated-1-21-2014.32231/ ), along with MOG's Battle Result. ( https://atelierrgss.wordpress.com/rgss3-battle-result/ ) One of the features of the Beastiery Logbook is to count the number of kills of a given enemy. However, when I have MOG's script, it counts each kill as 3 for some reason. Could anyone help me fix this odd conflict?
  9. Has anyone ever noticed that in Battle Test, if an event command forces a Game Over or Return to Title Screen, that the Battle Test will actually go to the Title Screen? I decided to create a bug fix for that, and I want to know if it works for anyone. This is most certainly a bug that almost no one would notice, but I have, and that means that it does exist, and so it should be fixed, so that other developers can rest assured that they won't have to deal with the frustration/distraction the bug may provide. If anyone has any feedback, feel free to discuss. Thanks again to @Nirwanda and to @Rikifive for their assistance.
  10. It's a silent wall of text that tries to tell us... The cat's out of the bag! Hear me, Indie game developers of the world: Ever dreamt of adding online features to your rpgmaker games? Your wait is finally over. Based on Efeberks ODS script - Malagar (my humble self) - has been working on a script to please your needs. After countless hours of development, I proudly present you a very first alpha version of: ASOE - the asynchronous Online Engine for Rpgmaker VX Ace 1. Download First, the important stuff. The download itself. You can grab the ZIP file containing both client and server code from my mediafire account: http://www.mediafire.com/download/81od3a1korn15hz/ASOE_ENGINE_ALPHA.rar 2. Requirements Here is a list of stuff you will need in order to use this engine properly. Please keep in mind that ASOE is not intended for beginners. It's an advanced script that requires knowledge of both: the rpgmaker as well as PHP/MySQL enviroments. Full version of RPGMaker VX Ace A webserver (host) capable of executing PHP files and storing a MySQL database A FTP client to upload files as well as a good text editor (Notepad++ is recommended) Know how to create a mySQL Database as well as populate it via a MySQL dump Enter correct credential into both: your PHP config file as well as your VXA project Nerves of steel 3. Installation & Documentation Please check out the blog articles prepared a while ago that will lead you through the installation process and provide interested developers with a basic knowledge how ASOE works: http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/blog/411/entry-1224-welcome-to-asoe/ http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/blog/411/entry-1225-10-installing-asoe/ http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/blog/411/entry-1226-11-how-asoe-works/ http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/blog/411/entry-1250-12-asoe-security-layer/ http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/blog/411/entry-1256-13-the-basics-register-login-logout/ 4. A final word I want to keep this one short, as Im too tired ATM for lengthy anthems. ASOE is based on Efeberks original ODS (online database) script, it is not entirely the work of my own. I neither crown myself the new emperor of the VX empire nor do I bath in the work of others. Efeberk did all the hard work creating the foundation to ASOE. I merely fixed, organized and expanded his script. Until today, about 50 critical bugs of the old ODS version have been fixed. At least two dozen of new features have been added and about 350 minor modifications have been made to the engine. ASOE is the result of several month of hard work (on and off), done in my spare-time - before and after work. Even after long month's it is far from finished and some bugs still have to be addressed as well as features added. This is merely a foundation, intended for other programmers - the real code-slingers out there to take the engine and push it further. Just like the way I tried to do with Efeberks script. Because this is the true and only meaning of open-source software. I will try my best to address the remaining bugs and adding new features. But, being older than most other people on there - Im stuck between my family, my job and my real-life commitments. Please don't push me into bug fixes and modifications, childish "do this / do that" posts won't accelerate future development. Stuff will be done, but it will take it's time. Every bit of time invested into this project is handed over to the community of RPGMaker users around the world for free, the only thing I am asking for in return: Do not assault me with unrealistic requests. Show initative, learn and try to solve basic problems with the script yourself! Yours -Malagar
  11. In my game, I'm using Yanfly's Battle Engine and the Fomar ATB add-on. I have a character that has the skill "Finishing Touch" where if the skill kills an enemy, a common event is ran through Yanfly's Death Common Event script. The common event adds a state to the character that changes the action times to 100%, effectively giving him another turn, or so I thought. The ATB would just ignore the state and continue as normal. I changed the action times percentage to 200% and got the same result. Even after fiddling with the ATB script so the state would give a haste effect of 100x the normal ATB speed to fill it up, the ATB would just drop back to 0 after the state is applied. I don't know if I'm going about giving extra turns the right way, but any help is appreciated!
  12. "1 More" Battle System

In the persona games, if you hit an enemy's weakpoint or land a critical hit on them, they become "downed." After being downed, the character who knocked the enemy down gets another turn, hence the name "1 more." After all enemies are downed, the party can initiate an "all out attack" that deals lots of damage to the enemies. Is it possible to make this in a script?
  13. Critical Cut-ins

I was wondering if it was possible to have images pop up on screen right before a critical hit, such as in fire emblem or persona. It would have to be for several different characters, each with their own image. Any help is appreciated!
  14. Saryn-Eye Patch and Headwraps

This is Saryn as she is known by everyone. She may not have her eyes to see with, but can see everything with her Third Eye. Shingantsu, it is called. She is proficient in Magic, but prefers guns above all.

  15. Saryn-Rainbow Eye

Saryn is one of my favorite characters in local lore. Of course, by local I mean my local. Anyway, this is my interpretation of a blind girl having inner sight and being able to see as if she had perfect vision. Her rainbow eye is indicative of some form of incredible power that even she doesn't understand, but she doesn't mind being different from everyone else. I'm still working on the gch item, but I figured I'd share these two portraits. I have a whole list of face sets, one set of her in clothing, the other naked, in various stages of her eyes healing. Obviously, these are portraits of her eyes being fully healed.

  16. Saryn-Normal(?) Eye

Her name is pronounced 'Sah-ryn' by the way... I'll have more posts of her up soon, and she'll be a playable character in my current game.

Negative energy that lies dormant for too long within varying dimensions finds a host and thereby creating an ancient. These Ancients threatened both Heaven and Hell. For the first and only time in all existance, Angels and Demons came together to create a trinket so strong that they only allowed those with human blood to possess it. That is when Amos, being obsessed with the Ancients, created a blood ritual and had 2 sons of his own. Both half-demon and half-human. 19. GCH - Face and Makeup VX Ace.png

I've messed around with Game Character Hub for a bit, and I'd like to share some of these creations with you. So, here's one. With this one, I changed the colors of the outfit, and I added makeup. Nothing too fancy, or too dull. If you want, you can have this, and if you want to change anything, I'll include the library item as well. Face + Makeup.7z Enjoy.

  20. So, finally, after a long time, a fellow member of the RM community has helped with this one issue, making throwing weapons. All credit goes to LockeZ (who I am not sure if they're on these forums), and I have their permission to post this script. [] [] If that isn't enough, then that's all I can provide. Anyway, enough of the semantics, on to the mashed potato pie. The script itself. So, there's that. It is somewhat of a backhanded hack, but it is something that doesn't involve using a Yanfly script to do something it wasn't meant to. Thanks, LockeZ.
  21. So I'm using Victor's Target Arrow script along with Yanfly's Battle Engine and I would like the highlighting to be consistent when selecting enemies. If I have a skill that targets multiple enemies, the battle engine would only highlight one enemy, and the target arrow script would select all enemies. The skill would still do damage to all enemies, I would just like it to either highlight all targeted enemies or remove the highlight completely. Any help is appreciated!
  22. Looking for a face set generator...

I'm going to be brief with this. Does anyone have Skye's face set generator? It would be great if someone did, because the mirror links on the website itself are no good. If anyone could assist with this, much appreciated. Merci beaucoup!
  23. Marsigne's Cutscene Workshop

What's this workshop about? Cutscene making, of course! Struggling with move routes? I'm your man! Want to have your cutscenes taken care of? You're at the right place! Want to have 30 soldiers chasing you and fighting you at the same time? I can! (within a year of course) Have in mind though that I only work with VXAce and MV. I'm much more familiar with VXAce, so MV may take some time. The template must be sent via PM, and it must be composed of: Game Title: Directions: (outline, instructions, etc.) Project demo: (materials for the scene) Process: You send me the template, then I'll start working on it ASAP. I'll aim to make a fast first draft (shown via video) so you can see the progress and tell me what needs tweaking. After the scene's finished, I'll send the project file so you can copy the map/events. Terms of service: There is only one rule: that there are no rules! Samples: Workload: 1. 2. 3.
  24. Hello, I have a crafting script request for RPG maker VXace And hopefully RPG Maker MV. I am looking for a sceneless crafting Script, Instead of the player going into a crafting menu they interact with the crafting station of choice then choose what item/weapon/armor from a cookbook they would like to craft. Once chosen the crafting item will deduct the ingredients from the player inventory and will start showing a progress bar on top of the item. The player can then leave the item to craft and continue on with the game. When the player goes to interact with the item it will state whats crafting, how long the crafting process takes and what stage it is at. A graphic will show when the item is done, but if the item is left for too long it will go bad. *kind of like the cooking tycoon games like cooking dash, cake mania etc. The crafting system must to be compatible with Advanced Game Time + Night/Day by V.M. And have its own timing system for other projects without the script. Here are some examples of what the crafting scean will look like: The First image With the Pots: This is just a small room made in MV, the Pots are edits I have done using some of the Big IconSet Icons as a base, The Little bars near the item are a progress bar. The player will choose what item they want to craft then it takes the items for the player inventory, Then the crafting process will start and the bar will appear. The player can then leave the room to go do stuff, once the item is done crafting it switches to it Done graphic If the player takes to long to get the item the item will burn. This is the crafting book, The player will find recipes if they have the recipe the item will show up near the recipe and reveal its name if not it remains a ???. The next arrow is to show what the next set of recipes are in the book. and the Next book tab will take the player to the next crafting book if they have it in their inventory. there are 3 crafting books. (Level 1) Basic stuff, (Level 2) harder stuff {will take longer to craft} and (Level 3) Mastery {these items are special and will take 1 or 2 days to craft} Each item will need a set of crafting items to craft them with, If the player is missing a key item for the recipe then they can't craft it the recipes will show the cooking time and burn time so the player will know when their item will be done. I have been searching for a crafting system like this for years and I am hoping that this system could be made. I would be very grateful to anyone who can make this type of system in RPG Maker VX ace/MV. Or anyone who can pass off the knowledge of a possible event such a system in RPG maker. Thank you all in advance. *The image I have posted Images made using Photoshop CS6, RPG maker Vx Ace/MV Tilesets and Big IconSet sprites. The edits to these graphics were done my me, I have gained no profit from these images. ~thank you*
  25. For some reason, the tiles in sample overworld maps don't work. There are 6; i've tried all of them and none actually show what they're supposed to show. This is supposed to be a grassy island. For reference: This is what it's meant to look like. Is this normal? Am i missing tilesets or something?
