Well, I’ve never posted anything before, so HELLO, my name is Ruedefaux, and I am an illustrator that works primarily in narrative illustration and character illustration, mostly my own. I try to work in and practice as many styles as I can to expand my knowledge, so there’s a few different things I can do. I mostly like working in digital painting as my main style of choice, but sometimes I like doing a more cartoony look when I want to kick back and relax. I’ve also been working on my skill in pixel art as of late and would like to maybe go somewhere with that sometime too. ALSO on the side I like to make music under the title “Lolistomp”. I mostly draw inspiration from rave genres (gabber, industrial, jumpstyle being the primary) and classic video games—so I have some 8bit themes in there as well. I make a lot of theme songs for my own characters as it helps me with illustration ideation. I have a website where I host all of these things, so if you’d like to take a look at my work as a whole, you can go into the gallery tab and pick one of the categories. http://ruedefaux.com I also take commissions, so if anyone’s interested, feel free to contact me: http://ruedefaux.com/commission-info Some of my links: https://www.deviantart.com/ruedefaux https://www.artstation.com/ruedefaux https://instagram.com/ruedefaux/ https://twitter.com/Ruedefaux https://www.facebook.com/ruedefaux/ https://soundcloud.com/lolistomp Some examples of my work: Thank you for looking~

I am currently looking for a background artist for my visual novel. The art style will have to mesh well with my existing character art and will be modern day, Japanese style settings. Please PM me here or on Discord at Necromedes#4690 if interested. (Note: I am more likely to see your message on Discord.) Be ready to offer a portfolio or examples of your existing work. Payment is negotiable and will be made per piece provided. I don't pay by the hour, sorry. Feel free to contact if additional information is required. Final Note: Actual work will not begin until further into the year. At the moment, only a few pieces for a demo trailer will be needed but when work does begin in full, I will expect timely results and the artist will need to be readily available to work with me. This is going to be a rather large project and I will be needing my artist for a good long while. Please only apply if you fully believe that you can provide these services for the long haul. Thank you and I look forward to working with you.

Hi. I'm developing a game. I don't want the other people to think that my game is just another RPG Maker game, so I want custom monsters. But because I don't have any art skills, I'm searching a 2D Artist. The artist will have to create monsters and draw them. The monsters need to have a dangerous and powerful look, so if your style is cute or you can't draw monsters that look like this, then sorry but you can't participate in the project. If you are talented and are interested in the project, my skype is: tavogamer88 If you wish to take a look at the project: https://gamejolt.com/games/magicadventures2/310515 Thanks TavoGamer

artist How can I make my game more appealing to the RPGM community?
boyflea posted a topic in Recruitment
Hi, I've been developing my RPG Maker VX Ace game for about a year now, and it is live on Steam: PUBLISHED STEAM GAME From the feedback I get, it goes along the lines of a 'a love letter written in crayon'. While I have received a lot of feedback and support from other communities, am finding it difficult to make this game attractive to the RPGM fans.So here I am: looking for advice and potentially volunteers looking to get a credit on a released Steam game.Even if you cannot directly help, would love to hear what you think of the current art-style and happy to discuss why certain artistic choices were made.Where should I go from here? Thanks for your time. -
Seriously Looking for Serious People to Help With Serious Project (Seriously) (Fantasy RPG)
gurisha posted a topic in Recruitment
(Title Unknown) Basic Rundown:: Game Engine:: RPG Maker MV Genre:: Fantasy, RPG, Comedy, Crushing Drama Release:: Commercial Graphic Style:: Two different styles to reflect the real world and the fantasy world. The "real world" will be shown through simple animations, with a semi-realistic art style. The "fantasy world" is to be portrayed in the traditional pixel art form. Synopsis:: A child is diagnosed with cancer. As his family crumbles around him with stress, fading hope and unanswered prayers, you, a young doctor, see the pain on this child's face every day. He knows nothing of what his illness is, only of what it's taking. He knows not that it's not his fault, but the impurity inside him. He needs a friend, but all he has is hurt. Until you. You begin to visit him, during your breaks at first, then after work. Soon enough you spend whole days with the young boy when most would be resting after the long week. You conjure up amazing tales of bravery in which both yourself and the boy fight monsters and save princesses, marrying them sometimes (often multiple, as bigamy means nothing to the child). The stories do nothing to help the child physically. He grows weaker with every day. But every once in a while, when the day has been saved once again, you see a smile on that young boy's face, and you know that this whole thing is worth it. One day you know you won't be able to go into that room, and you won't be able to recite another story, and you won't be able to see that smile again. It'll kill you, but you tried your hardest up to that point. Wherever that child is, he'll remember everything, especially the young doctor who took what little time they had and spent it making this broken child whole once more. The Amazing People I Need:: Writers:: The focus of this game is the relationship between the doctor and sick child. While much of the game will take place in a hyper-fantastical world where there are no serious limits, the relationship between the protagonists needs to be grounded in reality. I need a writer (or a few) that would be able to switch between the hyper-fantasy and the real world to give the player a sense of the world these two come from, that the fantasy is an escape, but one that can't be simply used as a cover-up. Concept Artist:: I need someone, or a few people, with the creativity to design environments, creatures and concept images for the rest of the team to build off. Sound Effects Design:: A game wouldn't be complete without sound effects. I need someone talented to create the physical environment of the game through the use of ambient effects, as well as active effects (opening of doors, cries of mystical dragons, etc.). "Real World":: Artists/Animators Much of the style of the real world is less blatantly cartoon/pixel art styled as the fantasy world. So I'm looking for people whose prominent style, or are proficient, in this area. Furthermore, as the game progresses, the use of grey and black tones will be especially important. Animation is not a necessity, but would bring an extra dynamic to the game. "Fantasy World":: Pixel Artists (Characters/Tilesets/etc) The fantasy world is very much a pixel world, full of color, happiness, hope, and life. I need creative pixel artists to not only portray this in the world, but to also create unique environments for the characters, through the use of art. Still Artists/Animators Cut-scenes within the fantasy world would use a similar pixel style to the game-play. Again, this will also be brightly colored and innocent. As with the real world, animation would only bring an extra dynamic to the game and is not a necessity. Scripter For the full game to stand out, I need someone to find/create the necessary scripts to have the game function to its best possible potential. Eventers Sometimes we can't always find that event solution to a certain problem, so more than one eventer would be useful so that we don't get too crazy stuck with a problem. Housekeeping:: Compensation:: "I never carry a wallet while I'm working; ruins the lines of my suit... But how about a crisp high-five?" - Deadpool Of course, I'd totally credit you in the final product, and if it makes money there's that sweet revenue share! (which would then have to be discussed). And I can always help with a project of yours! Other than having this wonderful face, I'm a great composer~ Communication:: Yes. Probably through Discord, e-mail, and PMs. I do pay attention to my messages! There'll also likely be a google drive/docs things going for notes and file sharing. If you wanna help, let me know! I'll pay attention to all my PMs. Or e-mail that works too~ TransitionDivided@Outlook.com- 2 replies

Hello! How are you doing? I am hoping to recruit a pixel artist or two to help me bring Pokemon RMN, a community-based Pokemon fan project in which I recently became the only active developer for, to life. You can check out the project here! We already have a demo released, that plays up to the third gym! https://rpgmaker.net/games/6734/ Engine: RPG Maker XP Synopsis: Far away from familiar lands in the Pokémon world, lying South of the Inday Region and West of the Moddin Region, there exists the isolated island of Ahremin. The Ahremin region is known for it's rich history, including tales of a monstrous beast who once threatened to devour the world; it contains bizarre landscapes, including the mysterious ruins of a lost civilization and the outright befuddling Ultimate Warp Zone. The most fascinating aspect of Ahremin, however, is its Pokémon species, all of which are found nowhere else in the world. After recently moving into the region, a curious, ambitious teenager wishes to explore Ahremin to its fullest; discovering, befriending, and training its Pokémon with the hopes of becoming champion of the Ahremin Pokémon League. This teen is the child of the world-famous Pokemon Trainer Andreas, who runs the gym at Misao City. With a reputation to keep up with and a dream to fulfill, the teen accepts the Trainer's License and embarks on a journey that will test his/her endurance. Will he/she make a mark on this strange new world? Does he/she have what it takes to become the Ahremin region’s champion? This teen is you, in case you haven't figured that out, so what will you decide? Positions/Roles Needed: As of the moment, I'm mainly in need of pixel artists. In particular, I'm hoping that you'll be willing to help out with creating overworld sprites for the Pokemon (for those familiar with Pokemon, imagine the fallowing Pokemon feature from Heart Gold and Soul Silver). My hope is to be able to create a lively world for the player to explore throughout their journey, and I feel that actually having Pokemon seen not only in battle, but all throughout the world would go a long way in making the world feel alive. The sprites would be the standard for the engine, being 32x32 sprites, with 4 directional walking. XP has 4 frames per direction, but I'd be perfectly fine with 3, as I could finish formatting them on my own. As of the moment, every Pokemon has at least a front in-battle sprite (with over half also having a back sprite) in which you can base its overworld sprite on. Of course, you could also ask for any additional information that you may find useful. I understand that this would be a large task to ask of you. The project is certainly something that'll take a fair bit of time to complete, but I'm hoping it'll be worth it in the end to deliver the best project that we can to the community that made it possible in the first place. Pokemon RMN is a passion project crafted by the combined effort of the RMN community. It has technically been in the work since 2013, however, the original developer had to abandon the project due to personal reasons about a year ago. Earlier this year, I adopted the project as my own, determined to see the project through it's completion. My Role(s)/Position(s): As far as my own personal roles, I take care of pretty much everything else as of the moment. Mapping, evening, collecting music, setting up stats and scripts, the whole nine yards. Art, however, isn't really my strong suit. I'm really hoping to find an individual willing to help me bring this project to life. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Greetings! BluMiu here and recently returning oldie member. Around this time I typically start up commissions on wider scale for a bit outside my DA account. I did some collaborative work as part of the Pantheon, which I'm not sure is still active at this time before my abrupt departure, among other things. I range from anime to semi-realism, so neither is a problem if looking for something specific. Fantasy is the genre I delve into personally, but again, have worked outside of this and tampered on my own. Versatile and open to new things art, so you'd be helping me on my lifelong journey and professionally, so doubly appreciated. Commission wise, I'll be showing recent examples and project for Steam. I'll update as key areas RPG Maker needs within my skill set, character design and concepts (humanoid and creatures), but others as time goes on. You can check out my gallery thread on the Art and Literature section of the forum or go to my DA account, http://obsidiantrance.deviantart.com/ where a basic commission list can be found as well. Contact me there or by email at blumiu7@gmail.com. I'm pretty quick with replying and only time unavailable truly would be Saturdays until sundown. Hi everyone! So recently I released a game called Party 2! (Here and here) that got surprisingly popular, and people started asking for a sequel. I accepted, as the story needed a sequel to fully told. So needless to say, I'm developing Party 3! and I need an artist mostly for promotional material, but also for some game assets as well. Only digital art, not pixel art.I hope to hear from some people soon!

Need Critiquing for Potential Staff Artist for Bobbi Ficus

We are looking for a new artist, to put on our staff, and this guy gave me a couple samples to show: These are hand drawn. and Thanks, Jay -
Hi RPG fans, I used to mess around with rpg makers about a decade ago in high school, mostly making character sprites and designing towns and maps. I tend to put a lot of attention to detail in my work, and I'm not satisfied until a game takes on a character of its own and is immersive. Anyway, I'm really just a passionate hobbyist who's willing to collaberate with others. Lemme know if you need an artist for your game or if you have any other questions. Also, I especially enjoy RPGs with battle systems similar to Final Fantasy, Zelda/ARPG, Star Ocean 2, and Roguelikes. -Rishky

Greetings to all here at rpgmakervxace.net! To start off, I used to program BASIC text games and graphics from 1991 to 1998, tried to learn PASCAL my senior year in high school, but never got the syntax or how to incorporate my thought flow into complex equations, which is mainly why I'm here. I have a basic knowledge of eventing in RM VX Ace, but scripting is what perplexes and intrigues me. I, like many other newbies, had found a deal on steam and had a decent idea to start making an RM game, however the depth I have found in others' scripting capabilities, to "break" the maker-- make it do things it wouldn't handle before, has me drooling for more experience so I can bring new ideas to my concept game. Things that catch my interests are ABS engines, like XAS and Khas' ARC engine and SAS scripts... the fact that scripting in rgss3 can really change what goes on in our creations gets me all crazy excited. The use of others' scripts is fine when they allow free with crediting, but I would also love to get into scripting in rgss3 to tailor specific mechanics to my project(s). I have played around enough to know how to set up basic graphics and stuff, and usually find other members posts to answer my questions without personally inquiring, but there are certain mechanics I want in my project that I'm not entirely sure how to approach. I'm working on hatching a project that will eventually look mostly like it wasn't made in RM, because a lot of my time is being put into creating all original assets. My friends and I make music, and most of us have some real visual art talent, so not to knock ppl for using stock assets, but they really won't help what I'm looking to accomplish! Well that's enough jibber-jabber from me, really just looking for some connections with this community so maybe someone could help point me in a direction in building my scripting. I plan on starting the tutorials, which look very educational, and I want to say thanks to everyone here who have original ideas and useful feedback, you'd not heard from me up until now, but believe me, I've already read and learned from many of you. I like galv's point of view and find a lot of his work useful and inspiring (personally), Victor's scripts just intimidate me (lol, but for real), Yami... just to name a few more who's work ignites my interests. I really want to open up on some details of my project, but want to make sure I don't disclose much, as there is no protection on my intellectual property yet, concept or otherwise. I will say it is inspired by my real-life day-job lol... as if THAT sounds exciting.... Ah-- Just decided it's time to say hi, join in here, and maybe I'll get more of my project's details out into the light (in the proper forum section) when it feels right! ;]

When a game attracts a player with it's story, the game will be remembered more, at least for myself. RPG games have been and always will be one of my favorite genre of games that include storie that aren't rip-offs that sell-out year after year. It's the reason why I'm interested in making a game myself. But I want to ask, does the story of a game really help out with how good it is? If that's the case, then let me share the story I plan on making as a project. The setting is at a strange moon like planet (Earth-size), preferable a academy filled with students. The planet itself can sustain humans and other creatures alike. However the others who are non-human are not too far in categorizing them as "beasts". A young girl is the explorer of this ancient academy. Her companions are not like her, since they range from a walking teddy bear to a wolf like man. She is by herself as she faces against the world filled with those who doubt and praise the moon they live in. But beside what is shown by text, the true story is about someone in a dark phase of their life. The moon is really just the darkness people are in when they are depressed. The academy represents how everything works on strict regulations. Cross the line and your considered a "Doubter" to their society. There is more into it but for now I have not finished writing the outline of the story. The story is still in development, but I do encourage critics who can help me tell this story a bit better. I will refer back the question if the story is the true purpose of a game, then how? And if it's yes, how can I make a story like mine become a decent game? I will post the artwork for the story as soon as they are sketched.

Challenge 0; Duelling with myself Bugs and I were having a chat as to how to get budding artists to step out of their comfort zones and experiment with new ideas and fresh perspectives on art, when we decided to have this silly idea to "duel" to encourage healthy competition. We therefore open up this thread to everyone on the forum to participate in. The Rules are simple: Each member starts with both a picture and a topic for someone else to draw. The picture can only be either a pencil sketch or basic lineart, for the interest of time, and must be done by them from scratch. Colored submissions are automatically rejected. Quick sketches are fine, insofar as they are legible and recognisable. They will then select the next item or type of person for the next member to draw. For instance, a dancing man or a cityscape background. All duelling challenges must be phrased in the following format: "I challenge you to draw (insert object here)!" Please note that your request should be reasonable, and only members who have submitted artworks are allowed to post a new challenge to others. You are welcome to attempt to draw an older challenge for practice, or more than one image, however: - You are only allowed to issue a new challenge if you have done the last challenge. - You are only allowed to issue a new challenge if you are the first person to complete the last challenge. Any members are free to provide constructive criticism along the way in order to help the other members improve on their artwork. For artists, please tag your artworks with the following notation: "Challenge 1; Duelling with: (name of poster of challenge)" Please direct all criticisms or advice to the respective notations. With that... I challenge you to draw a young girl riding on a fantasy beast!

My name is Adam Muhieddine. I'm a lebanese canadian aspiring animator and artist. I'm also a huge fan of video games and I do enjoy a fair amount of JRPGs and the like. I've been using RPG make ever since I was a kid, had a blast with 2003 and XP. I used VX for awhile but was quite annoyed with it's limited functionality when it came to things like having only one tileset for your whole game (as far as I knew). VX ace is simply amazing to me, so I've returned to work on a special project which I'll share with you all later. I hope to make some friends and learn more about my new favorite game creation program in being here. I also hope to improve more as an artist and how I share my creative thoughts. I live in Calgary, Alberta, on that note. Anyone closeby in the world? Greetings~ I am an artist, writer, planner & musician interested in helping a solid project or starting one up... art: http://acrology.blogspot.com/ music: http://www.reverbnation.com/hiraether Skills: World Builder: Natural environments with focus on creating niches for real ecosystems. Synthetic techno punk when needed. Built in every RPG Maker, favoring VX, made several incomplete games. Made some huge worlds for Neverwinter Nights & NwN2. love it. World Map 500x500, showing 25% of total map : Systems Theory: I can't code but I understand how to implement the i ching into a time cycle. I am interested in getting it to make roles like D&D, but for time / relationships. VERY interested in figuring out a tarot system to top ultima's. Played multiple mmorpg, everything square & or Enix ever made (lvl 90 Brd, Rng, Blu FFXI), Neverwinters, breath or fires, lufias, etc. etc.. I know what makes a good gaming experience & I need to make something because all the new games fall short; making me sad. ;-; Writer: My favorite fantasy books are The Wheel of Time (waiting on towers =P), Every Tolkien Book, & The Hitchhiker's Guide. IRL I dig Kerouac, McKenna, James Joyce, Dostoevsky, Huxley, etc. I write automatically, so poems, lore, bard songs are specialties. I have a real love for planning epic stories on mindmaps & organizing them elementally. I especially want to speak for the disenfranchized poor in war-torn countries, the mages, the shamans & the druids. I am steeped in world mythos; irish, chinese, japanese, hebrew, buddhism, taoism, tarot, alchemy, etc. Crowley especially interests me: I actually own & have read 777 & Gemantria. I wield it like a philosopher's rosettastone of coincidencia oppositorum. Parallax Artist: these take about 30 minutes in zbrush. They are not photoshopped and are raw to show the Baldur's like style. http://3.bp.blogspot...orest path1.BMP With a little touch-up, texturing, lighting, render & photoedit, these can get very high quality. I like bryce for render lights.. I will post the final later . Illustrator: and i love to draw without the computer.. my drawing is automatic & unplanned inspiration . Yoshitaka Amano is my art hero. More art here: http://acrology.blogspot.com/ Bard Sketch: I cannot draw characters with precision unless they're 8-bit. I am suited landscapes, backgrounds, nature, devices, gears, etc. I currently do NOT draw characters or monsters graphically, but would enjoy illustrating concept work instead or learning how to make them virtually without taking days. Electronica Musician, a.k.a. Hiraether: http://www.reverbnation.com/hiraether Gamer music, electro alternative style. Windows 7 promo song "Vagabond 242 ADHD Indulgence" & MySpace promo song "Gnomish March (live)" artist 2010. Should be everything. Check out my links for more; Nothing for sale, just using them as resumes. All my music & pictures are free to listen to / view. I would really enjoy doing a High Fantasy RPG work in the vein of Dragon Quest, but I also love (TB)SRPG like Baldur's, Dwarf Fortress, Civilization IV Fall Further From Heaven and would be more then happy to be on a project of the same caliber. My render style is very conducive to a map like Baldur's, but higher resolution. A combo JRPG system with SRPG elements / maps would be a great hybrid. I CANNOT do all of these things at once, alone. So I must focus a couple jobs, or work with a team where I can skip around & work on different aspects with people. I am currently unemployed & applying for disability... so I should have some time on my hands. I use RPG maker VX currently & I just got Ace, so I'm learning... actually that's what lead me here. ( )b Please contact me if I fit your team or you have an idea so good we should build a team. -- Oneiromancer Crystal Chamber (parallax):
