Three great heroes are destined to save the Kingdom of Trilands from the evil Demon King, Lahar, who want to destroy the Human World for no reason, indeed an evil plan of total destruction. But in the final dungeon, the heroes are defeated easily. Where are my Internets?

Where are my Internets? Abstract: funny board game about searching the Internet Genre: board game Game Progression: completed Recruitment: None Average game time: 2+ hour Story / Setting / Purpose: It is a board game set in a strange fictional world that resembles our present-day world, but with elements of humour and surreal events. There is only one way you can do it: become an internet provider, and get online. Characters: Yorick Was born and grew up in the big city. He didn't ever expect that he would end up in such a remote village in the prime of his life. Poor Yorick! Matilda A cunning and witty heroine, she doesn't waste time she gets straight to the point, and will find a way out of any situation. Terence A natural blonde person who is very impressionable. He suffers more than most over not having a connection to the internet. Greenie The most cheerful and carefree person in the game, always honest and true, but she is often lucky for the most inexplicable reasons. and.... Dice! Yes, it is the hero of a game too! 5. Overview: Engine: RPG Maker MV Game Release(s): Commercial, English. Genre(s): Mystery, Comedy, Adventure Synopsis: Chance knew from the day he was born that he was bound for greatness. Unfortunately, Chance was horribly misguided in this assumption. In the far-away city of Los Cactus, there have been murders most foul. Monster-kind is being shunned from the streets, the blame for these murders falling on their shoulders. An election on the horizon threatens to jeopardize their position in the world even further! Just who will step up to save them? Unfortunately for the monsters, that person is Chance Thomson, a hopelessly errant detective who struggles to tie his own shoelaces! Monster-kind's only hope lies in he and his new partner, a mysterious lady named Grace. With her help, can Chance shape up and solve the mysteries surrounding Los Cactus? Play as Chance in a collection of mysteries against tricky foes and cunning set-ups! Piece together clues to discover the villain's narrative, and do your best not to nab the wrong guy! Meet a wide cast of colorful characters, from zombie waitresses to your very own Slime Friend™, and try to break a very inconvenient sleep cycle! Graphics Style (subject to change): Position(s) Filled: Lead Artist Concept Artist Writer(s) Composer(s) Sound Designer Eventer/Programmer Position(s) Open: Menu Designer: I'm mainly looking for people who can help with menu and title screen designs. If you're not comfortable working in a pixel style, even putting together some mock-ups/concepts to work from would help a great deal. Pixel Artist(s): This project is super heavy on pixel art, so I'm looking for people who can assist with making some of the assets (portraits, sprites, maps, etc). I'll be more than happy to give you a crash course in the drawing/shading style as needed ^^ Other: Compensation: Naturally, you will be fully-credited for any and all of your contributions. I can't do much when it comes to monetary payment until after the game's release, but I'm willing to provide graphics/support for a future project of yours in exchange. Communication: As of right now we're using a Discord server to communicate, though messages via email the forum also work fine. ^^ Interested? Feel free to send me a message on the forum, or via one of the contact methods on my profile

  9. Forest at the edge of the world: Abstract: A villain gets dragged into a quest to save a village. Genre: Fantasy, Dungeon crawler Average Demo Time: 1:30 / 2 hours Game Progression: 50% Story / Setting / Purpose: As Desmond, hot and upcoming villain your life was simple: exploring crypts and ruins in search of the ultimate power while (non-lethally, you're not very good at this evil thing) fending off would be heroes. This all changes when your life is saved by a feisty fairy named Meera and a woman named Dinah and you end up unwittingly questing to save Dinah's hometown. As a side note, this game takes place in the same universe as my other game and roughly at the same time as well. So they both share lore and a few nods. This game was originally made for the Indie in a Week 4 contest. Character Bios: Desmond: (I was very tempted to call him Oscar, if you know what I mean) Our hero, or shall we say villain. A self proclaimed force of evil whose megalomania is crippled by certain thoughtful tendencies. He sees himself as a smart individual and a creative mastermind, but it remains to be seen how much of that is true. Mirroring Riev from The Messenger and the Cursed One, Desmond is a magic/melee hybrid, though he has a higher emphasis on magic. His skillset is very varied and he can cause several crippling status effects on foes. Meera: (No, it's not KilloZapit, stop asking) Having left the fairy kingdom, this knight wanders the land in search of a purpouse. She seems to have found one as a Jiminy cricket styled conscience for our wayward villain. She quickly strikes a deal with him to be his familiar, only to start bossing him around the next minute and force him into helping Dinah's village. Also mirroring a character from TMatCO, Meera acts pretty much like Gia: she's a straight up melee warrior, though unlike her predecessor, she has a variety of support spells to keep her relevant when things require Desmond's magical touch. Eric: You know him, you love him. Eric is your typical hero and right now his mission is stopping your villainous plans whatever they might be. In his free time, Eric enjoys dabbling into psychology, and when not dazzled by the complexity of human mind he likes mixing different types of tea to create unique drinking experiences. In battle Eric is exactly what you would expect: a one trick pony. That trick being sticking his axe in you. While powerful the very limited nature of his combat skillset make him less of a threat than some of his allies. He also has a hidden potential. 10. The Book Of Resurrection Background Hello there! Back in April of 2015, I started a small RPG Maker project called "The Book Of Resurrection". This was only intended to be a small game for me to play on, however eleven months later I've decided that I'd like to release this RPG that I created for free. The length of the game is a little over two hours and has now been officially released on GameJolt and IndieDB. Story The Book Of Resurrection takes place in a small town where four friends (Timmy, Rick, Bert and Tera) try to resurrect a dead punk rocker called Syd Victorious. Instead of resurrecting their idol, they released monsters and zombies on their once beloved town. With the help of a mysterious person only known as "Ninja", they must stop this curse that they accidentally released. 15. In this update, I show off additional NPC interactions, get friendzoned, get cursed at for being annoying, pass out after drinking benadryl, meet weird people, beat up more jerkfaces, discover my brother, eat fish sticks, commandeer a boat, show off the retry system (which provides hints or mocks you as you continue more often), show off the gauntlet system, destroy the boat, and discover a new continent! Yeah!
  16. I contemplated doing this in the forums, but I have no idea where I'd post it. Besides, this makes it easier for me to add to, etc. So I'm sure that by now most people have seen this post. If it's not already obvious (and if it isn't then I'm doing something wrong), this will not be a serious game...not in the least. There are a number of reasons for this. Firstly, there was no prescribed theme given. Having it open like that puts me on the spot because yeah I have a lot of ideas swimming around in my head, but to pluck one out and make it a legit argument for a game is tough, especially if I only have a week. Second, the other game I'm working on is fun, but relatively serious, dark, and even cruel at times, so it's a nice break. So what is my game about? Well, it's a parody game, so it's not easy to quantify, but here goes. You play as E'rrick (totally original character and totally not the default character Eric actually). You start in the middle of the ocean (the default map) and a giant town comes to pick you up after ringing its bicycle bell a couple of times. Then it explodes. The plot is obviously evil monsters caused this, so you're going to kill them all...but you're also easily sidetracked (aren't all heroes). You end up in on the island of Landia, just outside the port town of Townia (lots of originality). So yes, it really is going to be and stay all over the place, as though someone snorted 20 pixi stix and flailed about in RPG Maker. The good news is I have a lot of ridiculousness I want to add, so it should be entertaining all around. So far, I have 2 movies finished, the initial island, and about a quarter of the town map ready. To ask what I have planned won't really get you anywhere because I'm totally winging this. I know that's a terrible way to go about it, but that will actually lead to it being more random and ridiculous, I think. So instead we'll do this as a sort of Q&A... What kind of music do you listen to when you make games? Unless I'm feeling utterly uninspired, I either don't or I listen to music that is/will be used in the game. When I am uninspired, I usually listen to something dark, but then that's mostly because I like to put in a lot of dark, twisted content in my other game. That probably won't apply here. What do you usually derive inspiration from? It depends. Mostly I like to derive inspiration from games I've already played, but also TV and movies. For this game, well...and yeah, this is a little weird...but I've derived inspiration from Game Grumps' playthrough of Sonic Adventure. "What, why?" The way they make fun of Sonic is inspiring because I'll often find myself going "what would Sonic say...but like in the Game Grumps' voice?" Again, strange, I know, , you'll probably see what I mean. Does this game have any point at all? No. Well, yes: to make you laugh. That's about it. Okay, maybe one more. Far too often I'll run across an idea someone posts (anywhere, really) that is absolutely riddled with spelling, grammatical, consistency, and several other errors to the point that I just can't take it seriously. Now, it's one thing if the person is super committed already, like maybe it's already partially done and I can see where they're going with it, but it's another thing if it's like this... "hay guyz im makin gaem bout zelda u get 2 play as a goron wat u think" What do I think? I think no. Just no. I mean, if you have a bunch of cool screenshots and some cool backstory and stuff, welllllll...maybe. But if it's just this, then no. And yes, I've played games like this that the developer fully intends for you to take seriously. I'm not making this as an example of what not to do, but that may be what it ends up being. But why not make a game about X? Why do comedy when you could do genre Y? And I'm sure those would be great ideas, except I'm on a time crunch and only have limited time each day to work on it. Yeah, I'm off the next 3 days, but I try to maximize my time usage on my days off, so I might get a maximum of 2 to 3 hours' worth of work on each of my days off. Comedy can be hard, but if you're just trying to be random and stupid, it's really not. The trickiest part, really, is making it as a game. Oh, it's easy to throw dumb jokes and silly presentation overall out, but having it also work as a game with bona fide features, well, that's a little tougher. So imagine trying to make the game work, work well, and have an interesting and engaging plot, awesome mapping, well developed characters...in one week. I'm not saying it can't be done and I'm sure other contestants are well on their way, but not me. This is the simplest and most fun path for me, so there. Feedback Do you have more questions or you'd rather I talk more about what I've already said? Awesome, go nuts in the comments. I am going to put as much as I can into this, so hopefully it will be at least 30 minutes of a playable game. Not sure how much more it will be than that, but we'll see.

  19. Contains bad language, sexual references and violence against children. Abstract: A group of game developers gets trapped in their own game and needs to find a way back to their office! Genre: Comedic Japanese RPG. Average Game Time: 1-2 hours depending on how many side-quests you complete. Main storyline is 45 minutes to 1,5 hours in length. Story Have you ever wondered what would happen if a group of game developers were sent into an actual game? You probably haven't, and they'd probably die pretty quickly, but that's beside the point. The point is, it would make for a very interesting story. Join the Graphics Team, based on real people who all work at the indie studio Dead Shark Triplepunch, in their quest to find a way home in a hostile world. Fight, explore and laugh in this comedic retro J-RPG where characters are as hilariously stupid as they are named. Enter Dirk Rockgroin. Character Bios Dirk Rockgroin - Leader of the Graphics Team. Large and muscular, yet somewhat dense at times. Biscuitfist - Somewhat crazy, noone knows for sure what goes on in his brain. Very unpredictable. Caroline - A fiery tomboy, her attitude is as bad as her choice of words. Her greed for money sometimes put her in dangerous situations. André - Calm and focused, he doesn't like spending time outside his current objective. Credits Michael Levall (me) did the overall design and production of the game. Art and music from the RTP as well as the following official DLC was used: Futuristic Tiles Resource Pack, Modern Day Tiles Resource Pack, The Blackheart Music Pack, The Nothing Battles Music Pack. Fun Facts I did this game in my spare time during autumn 2013, I'm currently a game design student at a university in Sweden. The game was initially made to humour my friends at the company I work with (called Dead Shark Triplepunch) and the majority of the characters you will meet in-game are based on people I work with, even with some dialogue heavily inspired by real life situations. I put the game on GameJolt in the hopes that it would make someone laugh, hopefully it will at least put a smile on your face.

    game design Comedy Guide

Comedy Guide When I took theatre, my teacher said that comedy was the hardest genre to write. I have to agree with him on that. Not only is writing comedy one of my weakest areas in writing, but there is such a thin line you can walk with it. This guide is mainly what my teacher taught me, but please be aware that I'm not the best when it comes to comedy writing. One good feature of good comedy is intelligence and wit. This can be very difficult to accomplish, which is one of the reasons why most modern comedies use "dumb" characters and slapstick jokes. Does this mean that those comedies are bad? Of course not! But there does need to be a moderation of how much of it you use because the audience/player can get irritated or annoyed. This is the thin line I was talking about. You want to make the player laugh or at least smile, but you do not want to get to the point of being annoying, unless you have a scene that requires the player to feel a short term irritation in order to follow through with the joke. One of the more difficult parts of comedy is what is a joke and what is offensive. My teacher gave a heavy warning to not rely on stereotypes for humor since it's a cheap way to try to get laughs. However, I see it as a bit of a gamble instead of being a "cheap" way to get laughs. There is a better change of someone getting upset instead of laughing. So, how do we get the best laughs? The answer is through characters and surroundings. With the characters, the better developed they are, the better the humor can play off them. If you have the humor compliment the personality of the character, then the humor will come off natural. One way to do this is to have two characters with contrasting personalities try to get through an event. Or, even more simple, have a conversation. What you're aiming for is to have both characters well developed enough that they have chemistry in order to carry the scene and the joke. You can also use your surroundings as a way to make humor. If a character is in a strange surrounding and out of their element, this can set up for some humor depending on how you play it out. You can use actions or even the character talking to one's self as a way to further express the humor. One thing you need to watch out for is how far you take a joke with two characters. It's a very thin line from going to something being funny to being very spiteful. This can cause problems if the audience, instead of laughing, feels sympathetic towards the victim of the joke and see it in poor taste. There are comedies that can pull off violence in comedy. If you do want to use violence as comedy, the best advice I can give on that is to make it as over the top as you can. With parodies, the one important thing is to know the original source well. It's also important to research the original source material to understand the environment and characters. To get a good idea of a good parody, I would suggest Young Frankenstein. I hope this guide helps a little bit, and I'm sorry if it's not as detailed as my other one. Comedy is my weakest genre in writing, so if you do have more questions, I can try to find some links on comedy writing to help you out.

    Gray: Wisp of Magius

INFO Director : Titan_12 Engine : RPG Maker VX Ace Genre : Fantasy and Comedy Playtime : Approx. 1-2 Hours Size: With RTP - 343 MB, Without RTP - 156 MB STORY Gray: Wisp of Magius is a comedy and fantasy-type game that takes place in a fictional world named Magius, where wisps are the creators of the world, different from their folkloric definition. The world of Magius is filled with wisps that cannot be seen by humans, except for two certain types. This is because they live in a different dimension yet coinciding with the world. The player will take the role of Byakuro, a second-year student at a school that teaches people how to be a hero. Every year the students of this school are required to take another entrance exam to separate stronger people from the average ones. On the day of the entrance exam, Byakuro slept in and is gonna be late but luckily his girlfriend, Lillia, woke him. As they dash to the entrance exams, misadventures ensued. This game is rather short; the gameplay only lasting for 1 to 2 hours, but is in fact an introduction to a very complex tale, with a sequel that is still being planned. Features: · Branching storylines; the player can achieve at least four different endings, depending on the decisions made during the game. · Introduction/Prologue to the Gray Series. · Humour mostly involving fourth wall breaking. · Aesthetically pleasing battle system · Changeable Settings. · Very short story: about 1-2 hours’ worth of gameplay. Characters Byakuro - The Protagonist Our Protagonist. He is rather lazy for a hero, and is even too arrogant and overconfident. He, however, is as strong as he boasts. There are quite a lot of mysteries surrounding him and about him, but he would rather shrug it off instead of actually learning more about it. Lillia - The Girlfriend The childhood friend and the love interest of our hero. Her strength is mediocre, but she's quite skilled at healing. PS: Her father only forced her on a date with the hero for the sake of screentime. Despite this, they actually love each other. Ren - The Rival Guy He is rivals with Byakuro ever since they met. Even among their rivalry, and the hero's arrogance, Byakuro has admitted that Ren is stronger than him when it comes to swordsfighting. Alice - The Alice of Wanderland She is a transfer student from Wanderland. Yes, Wanderland, without typo. While her healing skills are much better than Lillia's, compared to her, she is actually very fragile. Brenda - The Misandrist She is a girl talented at archery, and notably disgusted at the sight of men. While her strength is of average level, Byakuro has openly admitted that she is better than him at archery. Esper Wing Chronicle FULL GAME

Story Ok, it seems that God isn't too happy. 16 years ago one of his angels and a devil from the underworld got together and had a child by accident. Whoops. This child was born with angel and devil powers, becoming dubbed the Demi-Child. The angel and demon in question unable to fend off the multitude of angels went and gave their powers to two individuals that would soon be the Demi-Child's guardians before sealing themselves deep inside a volcano (Yes, a volcano is a weird place, just roll with it~). Oh, and Satan doesn't give a single crap about the Demi-Child, which is strange because the Demi-Child could become a stupidly powerful ally... Anyway, our tale begins with the Demi-Child accompanied by a rather eccentric companion... Characters What? You thought I was going to spoil the other 3 main character? Psssh, yeah right! Though so far this is ONLY A DEMO, so don't expect all of the to be available. Oh, and if you don't utilize each character's skills in battle, "you're gonna have a bad time."
