    In search for a team

Hello there, I'm your Back-Alley's Snowman here in search for a team to work with on my free project. It's a funny little game about a protagonist that was thrown of a place called Demon Lord's company by his boss. Landing into a nearby trash can, he meets a woman there named Mao who convinces him to go back and convince his boss to give him his job back. After the adventure begins imagination is the limit. Our party must pass through the many floors of the company. Defeat enemies, solve puzzles, find keys and companions and overall make it to the top floor. That's the synopsis. I'm the writer so there are many things I lack. I need: - Pixel artist (Sprites)(Open) - Pixel artist (Backgrounds) (Open) - Composer(Open) If you're interested please comment or contact me at my discord: nero#3104 I'm using RPG Maker MV. Thank you for your time.

    Lords of the City

Lords of the City is an RPG adventure, comedy and a little bit of drama type of game, inspired by Paper Mario and Earthbound, using a fun and engaging combat system where timing is key! _____________ STORY _____________ A story about tragedy, comedy, drama and... A mustache? Our story begins in Terra,a planet located in the Cookies N ’Cream galaxy, where thousands of years ago, a demon swept through many towns, until four wise men of light destroyed him, leaving only a part of himself that was... A mustache. Hundreds of years later, with the new technology arriving, new cities were built, one of them was Diputs City, built near where that fight happened years ago. One day, Anthony, a 19-year-old man, for unknown reasons, was exploring in the ruins of an island near the city, in search for that demon's mustache. By endangering his life and deciphering various riddles, he finally found the mustache and by mere act of fun, he decided to put it on. What he didn't know, is that the mustache still had a huge power of the demon and it took control of his body! And Anthony became ... Antonio. He started doing small evil things at home, such as not washing the dishes or hiding the remote control, but little by little, his evil was growing, to the point where it bothered our new "heroes," Luke, Mark, David and John. He assaulted the Donut shop where Luke wanted to go buy one and took all of them, he stole Mark a video game, a robot in which David worked for years and to John ... Well, he didn't took anything from him, but because of mere destiny, he joined those who would be his new friends, on a mission to put an end to the chaos of Antonio by assembling... Genre: JRPG Game Progression: Completed (but the translation of the game is incomplete) Recruitment: Need help in testing and translating from Russian to English Average game time: 5+ hour The game takes place on the fantastic planet Aezzz populated by humans, elves and many different mystical creatures. The whole planet is a big single country and in its history were no wars, because all people signed the pact of friendship. House Robbing Simulator - READ DISC

STORY You are part of the mafia, but you want out. They will only let you leave if you pay them. You don't have enough money, so you are going to rob houses to get the money. Good luck. This is one if my first games I've made, and it was during a 2 and a half hour challenge, so expect some bugs such as but not limited to: leaving a house and ending up outside of a different house, not dying and instead being stuck in an endless loop of being oneshot until you restart the game, and more. It also has stock buildings and stock characters, but it has a mild charm to it. Might just be me though. Keep in mind it was made in 2 and a half hours so balancing is virtually nonexistent. The way to finish the game is to purchase a certification of freedom from the shopkeeper next to the starting weapon. Also, there's a secret that you can try to find if you want. (It's not hidden in a corner or something, playing the game you should just find it eventually.) Hope you enjoy i guess? -Credit to YanFly for the chasing plugin, and my friends for giving the idea of a 2 and a half hour game jam thing. SpongeBound: The Attack of Giygas!

-Story- In the peaceful town of Bikini Bottom, a dark omen is coming.... Giygas, the universal cosmic destroyer is planning on sending all to the horror of eternal darkness before destroying the universe itself... However, an ancient prophecy has predicted that Giygas's plans will fail due to the existence of a boy named.... "SpongeBob"... The prophecy says that six boys and one girl, known as the Chosen Seven, will find the power of all eight "Your Sanctuaries" and defeat Giygas.... It is all up to SpongeBob and his six friends to stop Giygas and save the universe. They will meet new friends from other popular cartoons or games and team up with them to stop the evil that blocks light from shining..... Can you help them stop it? -Gameplay- You play as SpongeBob and his friends traveling through a large world with many things to explore. Exploring has an Earthbound feel to it. You fight in random encounters similar to Earthbound Zero and battle in a turn based battle system controlling seven characters at once! Sadly, rolling HP is not in this game, the HP and PP system is similar to Earthbound Zero. This is a simple game made in RPG Maker VX Ace in a span of 6 months so many defaults still exist. There are many similarities to Earthbound and Earthbound Zero (because the game is based on that!) such as skill names and enemies. However, this is not a pushover game. I’m pretty sure it’s a small error with a script I’m using. It’s from Yanfly but I don’t know how to fix it. - I used RTP sprites for the fish in Bikini Bottom. No copyright infringement is intended. This is a free fan-game and should not be sold. There are many other cartoon and video game characters that are in the game but if I put this disclaimer for all of them it would take forever! Just know that this is only a fan-game and copyright infringement for all game series in the game IS NOT intended. -Extra Notes- - This Game is basic and uses a lot of RTP things. Don’t judge the game because of that! I’m not a good sprite artist, so I couldn’t really do anything about that.... (My best sprite of Pearl looked like a gray and pink blob...) - This Game is hard and has a lot of difficulty spikes and puzzles! Just know that before you play!

  14. Forest at the edge of the world: Abstract: A villain gets dragged into a quest to save a village. Genre: Fantasy, Dungeon crawler Average Demo Time: 1:30 / 2 hours Game Progression: 50% Story / Setting / Purpose: As Desmond, hot and upcoming villain your life was simple: exploring crypts and ruins in search of the ultimate power while (non-lethally, you're not very good at this evil thing) fending off would be heroes. This all changes when your life is saved by a feisty fairy named Meera and a woman named Dinah and you end up unwittingly questing to save Dinah's hometown. As a side note, this game takes place in the same universe as my other game and roughly at the same time as well. So they both share lore and a few nods. This game was originally made for the Indie in a Week 4 contest. Character Bios: Desmond: (I was very tempted to call him Oscar, if you know what I mean) Our hero, or shall we say villain. A self proclaimed force of evil whose megalomania is crippled by certain thoughtful tendencies. He sees himself as a smart individual and a creative mastermind, but it remains to be seen how much of that is true. Mirroring Riev from The Messenger and the Cursed One, Desmond is a magic/melee hybrid, though he has a higher emphasis on magic. His skillset is very varied and he can cause several crippling status effects on foes. Meera: (No, it's not KilloZapit, stop asking) Having left the fairy kingdom, this knight wanders the land in search of a purpouse. She seems to have found one as a Jiminy cricket styled conscience for our wayward villain. She quickly strikes a deal with him to be his familiar, only to start bossing him around the next minute and force him into helping Dinah's village. Also mirroring a character from TMatCO, Meera acts pretty much like Gia: she's a straight up melee warrior, though unlike her predecessor, she has a variety of support spells to keep her relevant when things require Desmond's magical touch. Eric: You know him, you love him. Eric is your typical hero and right now his mission is stopping your villainous plans whatever they might be. In his free time, Eric enjoys dabbling into psychology, and when not dazzled by the complexity of human mind he likes mixing different types of tea to create unique drinking experiences. In battle Eric is exactly what you would expect: a one trick pony. That trick being sticking his axe in you. While powerful the very limited nature of his combat skillset make him less of a threat than some of his allies. He also has a hidden potential. Credits: Intensive playtesting: Eien Nanashi Scripts: Yanfly Modern Algebra Tsukihime Fomar Craze Mr. Trivel Music: Kevin Mc leod Bensound.com Purple-Planet.com http://www.danosongs.com/ Windowskin: Rpgmakersource.com Screenshots: Eric tries his psychobabble on you. You're kind of an smart-ass. Not everything is sunny forests. Features: - Charm and humor (hopefully) - A variety of skills give you different tactical possibilities in combat - Made with Celianna's beautiful Ancient Dungeons tileset Download: http://www.mediafire.com/download/0x9k1qjte6unsgl/Forest+at+the+edge+of+the+world.exe Known Issues: In the opening cutscene an attack animation is supposed to play over Desmond, but for whatever reason despite being set up right, it displays in the middle of the screen.
  15. The Book Of Resurrection Background Hello there! Back in April of 2015, I started a small RPG Maker project called "The Book Of Resurrection". This was only intended to be a small game for me to play on, however eleven months later I've decided that I'd like to release this RPG that I created for free. The length of the game is a little over two hours and has now been officially released on GameJolt and IndieDB. Story The Book Of Resurrection takes place in a small town where four friends (Timmy, Rick, Bert and Tera) try to resurrect a dead punk rocker called Syd Victorious. Instead of resurrecting their idol, they released monsters and zombies on their once beloved town. With the help of a mysterious person only known as "Ninja", they must stop this curse that they accidentally released. 20. In this update, I show off additional NPC interactions, get friendzoned, get cursed at for being annoying, pass out after drinking benadryl, meet weird people, beat up more jerkfaces, discover my brother, eat fish sticks, commandeer a boat, show off the retry system (which provides hints or mocks you as you continue more often), show off the gauntlet system, destroy the boat, and discover a new continent! Yeah!
  21. I contemplated doing this in the forums, but I have no idea where I'd post it. Besides, this makes it easier for me to add to, etc. So I'm sure that by now most people have seen this post. If it's not already obvious (and if it isn't then I'm doing something wrong), this will not be a serious game...not in the least. There are a number of reasons for this. Firstly, there was no prescribed theme given. Having it open like that puts me on the spot because yeah I have a lot of ideas swimming around in my head, but to pluck one out and make it a legit argument for a game is tough, especially if I only have a week. Second, the other game I'm working on is fun, but relatively serious, dark, and even cruel at times, so it's a nice break. So what is my game about? Well, it's a parody game, so it's not easy to quantify, but here goes. You play as E'rrick (totally original character and totally not the default character Eric actually). You start in the middle of the ocean (the default map) and a giant town comes to pick you up after ringing its bicycle bell a couple of times. Then it explodes. The plot is obviously evil monsters caused this, so you're going to kill them all...but you're also easily sidetracked (aren't all heroes). You end up in on the island of Landia, just outside the port town of Townia (lots of originality). So yes, it really is going to be and stay all over the place, as though someone snorted 20 pixi stix and flailed about in RPG Maker. The good news is I have a lot of ridiculousness I want to add, so it should be entertaining all around. So far, I have 2 movies finished, the initial island, and about a quarter of the town map ready. To ask what I have planned won't really get you anywhere because I'm totally winging this. I know that's a terrible way to go about it, but that will actually lead to it being more random and ridiculous, I think. So instead we'll do this as a sort of Q&A... What kind of music do you listen to when you make games? Unless I'm feeling utterly uninspired, I either don't or I listen to music that is/will be used in the game. When I am uninspired, I usually listen to something dark, but then that's mostly because I like to put in a lot of dark, twisted content in my other game. That probably won't apply here. What do you usually derive inspiration from? It depends. Mostly I like to derive inspiration from games I've already played, but also TV and movies. For this game, well...and yeah, this is a little weird...but I've derived inspiration from Game Grumps' playthrough of Sonic Adventure. "What, why?" The way they make fun of Sonic is inspiring because I'll often find myself going "what would Sonic say...but like in the Game Grumps' voice?" Again, strange, I know, , you'll probably see what I mean. Does this game have any point at all? No. Well, yes: to make you laugh. That's about it. Okay, maybe one more. Far too often I'll run across an idea someone posts (anywhere, really) that is absolutely riddled with spelling, grammatical, consistency, and several other errors to the point that I just can't take it seriously. Now, it's one thing if the person is super committed already, like maybe it's already partially done and I can see where they're going with it, but it's another thing if it's like this... "hay guyz im makin gaem bout zelda u get 2 play as a goron wat u think" What do I think? I think no. Just no. I mean, if you have a bunch of cool screenshots and some cool backstory and stuff, welllllll...maybe. But if it's just this, then no. And yes, I've played games like this that the developer fully intends for you to take seriously. I'm not making this as an example of what not to do, but that may be what it ends up being. But why not make a game about X? Why do comedy when you could do genre Y? And I'm sure those would be great ideas, except I'm on a time crunch and only have limited time each day to work on it. Yeah, I'm off the next 3 days, but I try to maximize my time usage on my days off, so I might get a maximum of 2 to 3 hours' worth of work on each of my days off. Comedy can be hard, but if you're just trying to be random and stupid, it's really not. The trickiest part, really, is making it as a game. Oh, it's easy to throw dumb jokes and silly presentation overall out, but having it also work as a game with bona fide features, well, that's a little tougher. So imagine trying to make the game work, work well, and have an interesting and engaging plot, awesome mapping, well developed characters...in one week. I'm not saying it can't be done and I'm sure other contestants are well on their way, but not me. This is the simplest and most fun path for me, so there. Feedback Do you have more questions or you'd rather I talk more about what I've already said? Awesome, go nuts in the comments. I am going to put as much as I can into this, so hopefully it will be at least 30 minutes of a playable game. Not sure how much more it will be than that, but we'll see.

  24. Contains bad language, sexual references and violence against children. Abstract: A group of game developers gets trapped in their own game and needs to find a way back to their office! Genre: Comedic Japanese RPG. Average Game Time: 1-2 hours depending on how many side-quests you complete. Main storyline is 45 minutes to 1,5 hours in length. Story Have you ever wondered what would happen if a group of game developers were sent into an actual game? You probably haven't, and they'd probably die pretty quickly, but that's beside the point. The point is, it would make for a very interesting story. Join the Graphics Team, based on real people who all work at the indie studio Dead Shark Triplepunch, in their quest to find a way home in a hostile world. Fight, explore and laugh in this comedic retro J-RPG where characters are as hilariously stupid as they are named. Enter Dirk Rockgroin. Character Bios Dirk Rockgroin - Leader of the Graphics Team. Large and muscular, yet somewhat dense at times. Biscuitfist - Somewhat crazy, noone knows for sure what goes on in his brain. Very unpredictable. Caroline - A fiery tomboy, her attitude is as bad as her choice of words. Her greed for money sometimes put her in dangerous situations. André - Calm and focused, he doesn't like spending time outside his current objective. Credits Michael Levall (me) did the overall design and production of the game. Art and music from the RTP as well as the following official DLC was used: Futuristic Tiles Resource Pack, Modern Day Tiles Resource Pack, The Blackheart Music Pack, The Nothing Battles Music Pack. Cover art was made by artist Carl Boström at Dead Shark Triplepunch. Screenshots Download Get the game from GameJolt, no log-in required: http://gamejolt.com/games/rpg/dead-shark-misadventures-graphics-team-assemble/17972/ The file is 285,3 MB in size, so it might take some time to download depending on your connection. Fun Facts I did this game in my spare time during autumn 2013, I'm currently a game design student at a university in Sweden. The game was initially made to humour my friends at the company I work with (called Dead Shark Triplepunch) and the majority of the characters you will meet in-game are based on people I work with, even with some dialogue heavily inspired by real life situations. I put the game on GameJolt in the hopes that it would make someone laugh, hopefully it will at least put a smile on your face.
