A story-driven RPG where your choices decide how it all ends, where you have to strategize to defeat challenging enemies, and where you probably have to eat an ungodly amount of potatoes*. Available on Steam for PC (and later on for Android) in English and Hungarian for 5$! (*Seriously, if anyone can beat the game without eating a single potato, message me, I'll give you a special reward for sure.) Story You finally come home as Robert, the battle-weary mercenary, who comes back to his old home to finally find peace. But as fate would have it, your old friend Ben has some seemingly inexplicable things happening to him, which will put you on a path that might decide the fate of the whole continent soon... Find long and detailed books in the Library of Torn about several topics from the world of the Telius Islands and beyond Watch out, you might need to pay attention to some of the story to progress! Three different endings and several different story paths, all depending on what choices you make Features We thought that while a lot of great RPG titles have fascinating stories and interesting characters, yet sometimes the fights are relatively straightforward, so we decided to spice it up a bit. For veteran RPG Maker game fans it might be still not overly hard, but we're sure you will enjoy the various challenges. Unique challenges, requiring a special strategy to defeating most bosses and some regular encounters as well. Can you figure it out? Interact with the people of the remote Telius Coast or the vast city of Torn, and everything inbetween. You might get rewarded, attacked, ignored, asked to help out with selling sandwiches, and all that jazz Special minigames, to challenge both your mind and your reflexes Come and join the crew on this short but eventful adventure! Just remember to save a lot, you might need it! We'd be happy to hear your feedback, both here or on the game's Discord server!

Prepping Vx Ace Games for Commercial Sale?
Zen Blood posted a topic in Editor Support and Discussion
Good day everyone! This was kind of an odd topic to chose a forum for, so I hope I'm posting in the right place. I am looking to commercially sell a Vx Ace game. I see that some games have a custom icon for their .exe file, and change the .exe title from "Game" to whatever their game's name is. After over two years, I was able to get the custom icon working (and I'll update this thread with how I did it soon, for other people who had problems like me). As for my other problem, when I go to change the .exe title, the game doesn't work anymore. I have to change the name of the configuration settings file name, too, to match. But when I change the configuration settings file name, the game engine now calls my game "Untitled" in the editor and god only knows what else it may be messing with. Would anyone perhaps know how one changes the name of your game's .exe file without screwing anything up? Another problem I'm having, is that I want to export my game and include the RTP, but I want to get rid of unused assets in the game file. I am providing all of my own visual art and close to all of my own sound effects, so all of the default assets Vx Ace give you are just taking up space for no reason. If I dis-include the RTP, then the game can't work on computers that don't have Vx Ace downloaded. How do you get rid of unwanted files in your game? Lastly, I'd be interested to know if there's a way so that when someone downloads your game, a shortcut to the .exe file will appear on their desktop like what happens with most games. If you have any other ideas as to what's important for prepping a Vx Ace for commercial sale, I would like to know! Thank you for your time! -

ripped Leave Tips (Donations) for Games with Ripped Resources?
TheCaliMack posted a topic in Theory and Development
Here would be a rather considerable gray area, when you think about it. For example, you have a website where you mainly host the download for your game, or a forum post for that matter. It's free, technically, but you set aside a tip jar or a Patreon on the side if people choose to support your next venture, or even before the first venture. But the game they are offered to download uses ripped content. Wouldn't that fall under commercial use? Or is the process of which is so vague? On a personal level, I don't know what to think. I'd love to hear what you guys think of it. So yeah. Tipping for free games: does it count as commercial? And would using ripped resources for these games be dickery?- 6 replies

The original version won the first place and was downloaded by 39288 people before the download was removed. The commercial version improves on every single aspect of the original, including making many things from the ground up fresh and new, keeping many things that made the old game work but also improving on the format enough for a commercial release. Genre: Fantasy Engine: RPG Maker VX Ace Save Your Mother on Social Media Facebook @SaveYourMother2 Youtube Gameplay Story Setting The game takes place in the same Megaverse as all my other projects, as such there is a rich and robust world to build with the mythos of over 15 years of game making. The timeline for the game takes place about 500 years in the New World after the Old World was destroyed by the War of Gods, if anyone is interested or well versed in my mythos. Characters There are quite several colorful characters in the game, here are just few important ones. Alice Alice is the main character of the game, as well as the avatar the player controls throughout the game. She is a renowed scholar nicknamed "Silver Scholar" due to the coloring of her hair. She uses her knowledge and skills to find out about the legend of Elohim Cube as well as making use of it in solving the various tasks that wait inside. Jenna Jenna is the rival you meet early into the game. She wants to obtain the cube as well for her own sake, though she wishes to sell the cube and earn a fortune from it. Jenna is unlike Alice, very streetsmarts girl and doesn't shy away from using dirty tactics. She and Alice are against each other but for no personal reason but rather them both having a common goal. Elisa Elisa is the mother of Alice who has grown ill. Alice knows that nothing can cure her mother but the Elohim Cube, she has already tried everything but no ailment has worked, not even out of ordinary cures. The game ends if she dies. Credits Full credits in game Screenshots Features A game about puzzle and action, very gameplay oriented adventure Fast paced combat with epic, grand special moves. Hand painted cutscene art and character art that shows variety of emotions, blinking and mouth movement Inspiring, eerie soundtrack does invoke variety of emotions from fear to happiness and getting you pumped up for the challenges. Is the game too easy? Unlock the special hardcore mode to add to your challenge! Steam achievements&Trading Cards FAQ Q: Will there be a Kickstarter/Indiegogo/Whatever? A: Sadly, no. While I would love nothing more than to get a fundraiser to be able to pay off some extra resources as well as possibly hiring voice actors, my country's idiotic laws prevent me from doing so. Everything about this game has been funded directly from my personal money that I was saving for years for this exact reason. Q: I'm a composer and I'd like to do the soundtrack for this game, how do I come about to contacting you? A: As flattered as I am, I sadly had to turn away already two very talented soundtrack artists. To be 100% honest, the game already has soundtrack and I've already paid for it.

masterpiece theatre Mythos: The Beginning [survival horror/RPG]
Dark Gaia posted a topic in Completed Games
Dark Gaia proudly presents the spiritual successor to the One Night series. Introduction Mythos: The Beginning is a survival horror/adventure role playing game based on the pulp-horror and monster movies of the 1930s. Set in London in 1934, Mythos tasks you with creating your own paranormal investigator from scratch and guiding them through a frightening exploration of the infamous Harborough Asylum. Three young university students have vanished while attempting to conduct a scientific survey of this dreaded place, and it's up to you to find them! Throughout the night you'll discover that Harborough Asylum's reputation is more than an urban legend, and you'll have to fight for your life against otherworldly Lovecraftian foes. Story Harborough Asylum is an abandoned mental hospital located on the outskirts of London. It was established in 1882 and soon built up a reputation as London's harshest institution thanks to its brutal and controversial treatments. After a string of mysterious patient deaths, said to number more than 40 victims, it was finally closed down during World War I and has been disused ever since. Despite this turn of events, Harborough Asylum remained one of England's most infamous sites, soon becoming the subject of an alarming number of local ghost stories. Now Harborough Asylum is a place where only the most bravest (or foolish) men would dare to tread. You play as a renowned paranormal investigator, best known for solving a famous missing persons case several years ago. Tonight, Professor Harrison Blacktail, a mysterious academic somehow connected to the asylum's past, has turned up in your hotel room at the Imperial Arms. He has commissioned you for the most dangerous case of your career: search for three missing students inside Harborough Asylum, and discover whether the terrifying legends are true. Characters You - You're a paranormal investigator of some renown. Now you're about to face the most frightening case of your career. Professor Blacktail - A mysterious demonology professor with some connection to Harborough Asylum. Peter - A famous American cat burglar who came for the antique furniture and got much more than he bargained for. Luana - A terrified psychic trapped in her worst nightmare. Night Watchman - Guards the asylum from trespassers. How has he even survived for this long? Features Blends traditional survival horror gameplay with a "true" tabletop-style RPG experience, complete with dialogue trees, non-combat skills and dice rolls. Create your character from scratch. Choose their gender, background and profession, and then role play them. Will you be a square jawed investigator, or an intrepid journalist? Pen and paper RPG inspired character advancement system. Levels are gone forever! Spend EXP directly to buy stats and skill increases. Multiple ways to play the game! Don't want to fight the enemies? You don't have to! Gain EXP for correctly utilising non-combat skills such as Persuade and Occult Lore. Fully voice acted dialogue -- a first for a Dark Gaia game! Utilises the fantastic Mythos Graphics Pack by PV Games to create an immersive horror experience. Completely custom soundtrack exclusive to Mythos. I realise that the title should probably read 'I'm the head of New Reality Games' - but that's also true I'm a commercial developer, publisher of shy folks, and part-time tutor to home-ed kids! I'm semi-active in the RPGMakerWeb forums, and I thought it was about time I branched out to this wonderful community too, since some people seem to prefer it here, and it makes for better networking. As for me, I've been developing with RM for many years. A couple of years ago, when Kickstarter launched in the UK, I stuck my hobby project up in order to finance a composer. That's ancient history now, and that particular title has recently been released on Steam (with a very positive reaction!). I do currently have a kickstarter running, for the third (and more ambitious) title in my Data Hacker series. You can check it out [ here ]. It's pretty cool. We were funded in mere days, and we're now working towards some content expansion/improvement stretch goals! I think I've nattered on long enough. Cheers!

This is the second game of BÃo collection. BÃo Lux Aeterna is a openworld game, with horror, terror, action and etc. The goal of project it's simulate a real world in a caos, (end of world). The game contains violence, sex scenes, drugs and more things. All project resources are original, and we will sell them with the game Jonathan recently moved to Saint Peter, to attend the local university. He got a job in a record store, and divide the rent of his apartment with two friends: Gabriela, a student of Sociology, and Hector, who like him, studies Music. The three of them live in a building almost completely inhabited by students, who despite not being well taken care of, is close enough to the university so they can go there walking. In recent days, Jonathan began to notice that the news was talking a lot about people being admitted to the local hospital in terrible pain, followed by a deep coma. The doctors were baffled and unsure about what to do. This kind of news was becoming more and more frequent, and soon it was not restricted only to Saint Peter: several sick people begin to emerge in other cities, and in less than three days, the news reported that the same occurs in all parts of the world. The President of the United States of America makes a pronouncement on TV where he says that he will find and bring to justice the terrorists responsible for the epidemic. Countries of the Middle East haste to plead themselves innocent, but in the same sentence, state that they are prepared to any turning of the events - implying an American attack. The world was quite tense when the first reports of people returning from the coma started to emerge. But this was not good news. Disparate information said that the people suffered horrific deformations, and woke up totally uncontrolled, violently attacking anyone who crossed their path. Suddenly, the sick people began to multiply. Apparently, the coma was skipped, and people went straight to the stage of murderous thirst. The deformations appeared in a few days. It was the beggining of the chaos. A.K.A Features (Of non-team members) Khas Awesome Light Effects Gab! Commercial island survival sim concept, feedback requested.
Fredigar posted a topic in Theory and Development
I'm looking for feedback A pilot concept revolving around three ideas: - a seemingly deserted island, home to a shadowy abandoned laboratory - survival i.e. gather sources of food ( berries, fish etc), water and shelter while building vehicle components. - building a relationship with the island's native inhabitants who are anthropomorphic (furries); later (storyline-wise) gameplay is carried out by the player's children. The synopsis: The player character was/is a geneticist working on a government project to extend the boundaries of science, by making animals more human. Something goes wrong and the project is shut down, the experiments are released into the island ecosystem and everyone forgets the event ever happened Ten years later, the player is on a flight to visit their fiancée in another country... However unbeknownst to them, the flight path takes them over the island; resulting in instrument failure and the plane crashes.... Two people survive, the player and one of the island's security officers as the plane is going down; the security officer parachutes out and lands elsewhere on the island. The player has to survive the first night, by building a crude shelter whilst finding medical supplies to heal themselves before they lose too much blood. Cue the following day, where they can go exploring, food and water collecting.... Eventually you will come across one of the locals; complete with the associated dialogue, fetch quests and other hilarious hijinks. Long story short, the player begins to remember their past and their involvement in the island's past. Will they figure out the truth, will they fix the plane in time or will they choose to settle down with one lucky NPC (or all of the generation 1 NPCs)? The game takes place over three generations of characters. Arc 1 is the player's story. Arc 2 is their children's ( the player would be in their fifties) Arc 3 is their grandchildren's story and the player and spouse would be dead. Other little bits of information: This project is mostly revolves around the idea of a family and furries; I understand that there will be certain items which may either offend, start a flame war or find funny as there will be innuendos and some explicit nature... The art style is currently being debated btween myself and the artist; hopefully a colour scheme darker the default tile sets. Currently I'm playing around with variables for the mining and crafting system. Scripts: Glav's message busts Apellonyx's survival system So feel free to provide positive and negative feedback. If anyone is wondering why the paragraphs and gammer/punctuation look odd, I'm using a iPhone so still learning the whole interface.
