  1. Summary: Celes, the chosen Savior of mankind, must embark on an arduous journey to receive the blessings of Tsufanubra's overseers and take her rightful place atop the heavens. Little does she know that a crazed fanatic plots to usurp her position among the world's guardians, and has more sinister intentions for her divine inheritance... Genre: Fantasy. Engine: RPG Maker 2000 " Eons ago, the world and all of its splendors were created by the magnificent and all-powerful being simply known as the "Creator." It wove the threads of life, and upon creating the planet of Tsufanubra, spotted it with its most cherished life-form: man. Having gifted mankind with all of its blessing and necessities, the Creator simply watched as man forged his own path in life, and over the decades crafted himself in to a race of truly wondrous individuals numbering in the millions. The Creator, however, grew tired of this creation, and thus gave life to three heavenly Kings to watch over and monitor the world in his stead. Overseeing their lord's creation from on-high, the Three Kings of Tsufanubra guided their people into an age of peace and prosperity for countless years to follow... Then that fated day came—the day wherein a great darkness spilled from the opposite world of Arbunafust, and threatened to dominate Tsufanubra and all who lived upon it. The efforts of this otherworldly force, however, were thwarted by the Three Kings. They gifted mankind with four divine relics, then simply waited for man to take back what had been stolen from them. With the aid of their overseers, man was able to forcibly remove the invading force, and cast it back to whence it came. Their purpose completed, the relics bore themselves into the earth, forever shedding their light in silence so that mankind could attain eternal peace. " Characters: Celes Central protagonist of Chronicles of Tsufanubra. Celes was born in the rural village of Yur, within the eastern kingdom of Yurudos. Since birth, she has born the mark of the “Savior,†an individual chosen by the Three Kings of Tsufanubra to lead their people into a new age. Sando A well-known, high-ranking solider within Castle Verdam. He is also Princess Lifa's personal attendant and very close friend. He's been by her side since they were children, and has devoted his life to her and the royal family for taking him in and raising him as one of their own. Yoor A cleric hailing from the western kingdom of Borez. Devoting his life to the art of healing at a young age, Yoor has accumulated vast amounts of magical experience through the years, and because of this has come to be well-respected within Borez. Lifa The princess of Yurudos, and close friend to Sando. She lost her mother at a young age, but those who knew her mother and now know her say they're next to identical, right down to her tendency to talk non-stop! Cloaked Man A mysterious individual who hounds Celes for reasons unknown. Vladimir Archmage of Yurudos and one of the world's most powerful magic-wielding individuals. It was he who taught Lifa what she knows of the dark arts, and used to be a very trusted friend and instructor of hers until some unexpected events transpired... 2. ~~~~~ DOWNLOAD ~~~~~ Download link and main website here: http://rpgmaker.net/games/5527/ ~~~~~ NEWS ~~~~~ Oct 1st, 2017: Version 2.0 is now available for download! Many improvements have been made and this will most likely be the final version I will ever release. Full details can be found on the newest blog entry here. ~~~~~ SUMMARY ~~~~~ Legends Of Illarion 2 is the long awaited prequel to the 2009 RM2K3 game Legends Of Illarion. The prequel takes place in ancient Illarion at the dawn of time, many centuries before the events of the first game. I consider it mostly to be an old school type of rpg reminiscent of FF6, Lufia 2, etc. You don't need to play LOI before playing LOI2. You can play either game before the other and there won't be too much spoilers involved. The first LOI contains a larger more diverse world with more interrelated story elements and characters, while LOI2 is a little easier, smaller, and more straight forward than the first game. ~~~~~ STORY ~~~~~ "We are but mortals who cannot fathom the true nature of the gods. Whether they are kind and benevolent, or vengeful and angry, I cannot say. The only thing that is certain, is that their power is real, and we must always be wary..." The world of Illarion is at its infancy, having been created by the gods for only mere centuries. An Entity appears, born from the evil growing in the very hearts of mortals, bringing destruction and chaos to the realms. The gods await worthy heroes to appear and defeat the Entity. However, as time passes by, none step forth to save Illarion. In desperation, one goddess intervenes in mortal affairs, using deception to cause a group of mortals to begin a journey to defeat the Entity. But do they truly fight to save Illarion, or do they fight to fulfill their own selfish motives? As they squabble amongst themselves and get ever closer to the promised end of their journey, the gods play their cruel hand and begin to reveal their true intentions... ~~~~~ FEATURES ~~~~~ slightly modified battle/menu systems based on 3rd party scripts (mostly Yanfly) touch encounter battle system voice clips for character skills skill points system and many custom battle skills characters with multiple skill sets depending on weapons equipped many interesting puzzles (all of which are skippable) simple gathering/crafting system (blacksmithing, potion making, etc) diverse environments inhabited by various races. using "emotes" to describe character actions approximately 15 hours of gameplay ~~~~~ VIDEO ~~~~~ Gameplay Footage:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7txyxkko8_g ~~~~~ SCREENSHOTS ~~~~~ ~~~~~ CHARACTERS ~~~~~ Legends Of Illarion 2 features an ensemble cast: http://rpgmaker.net/games/5527/characters1/ ~~~~~ CREDITS ~~~~~ Created by Dyluck Created using RPG Maker VX Ace by Enterbrain None of the graphical or audio resources used belong to the creator of this game unless otherwise specificed. complete Elys

THIS GAME CONTAINS: Horror scenes; Nudity; Implied abuse; Grotesque Imagery; Implied and explicit violence; Blood; Murder; Death; Self-Harm. Elys Elys is a young girl with a troubled past. As soon as the game starts, we see her motionless, unconscious, while her body is sinking into a static void. Everything is quiet. When she re-opens her eyes, a path in a forest leads the way to somewhere. With no reaction on her part, she decides to follow it, probably aware of what she will find ahead. Plot and collectibles Although there's a backstory around the main character, the game doesn’t explicitely narrate them. However, I preferred to give a meaning to every single element that makes up the game maps. Every situation, every single pixel wants to be a clue and tell about the protagonist and her past, as well as the reason that led her to the place where the story starts. I have also introduced collectibles called "memories". As such, they aren't mandatory to be found. They focus on short sentences that give an additional input to the plot. Every memory introduces a keyword that wants to give further hints about the protagonist and what lead to the events of the game. Collecting or NOT collecting memories can influence on the endings. There are 10 memories in total, but they aren’t the only findable items by the player. The two "keys of the void" are among them; one is necessary to unlock one of the four possible endings. Taking a key of the void will, however, exclude the possibility of reaching a particular memory. The playable routes The game offers a mandatory route that leads to the end of Elys' story, but at the same time there are alternative routes and optional maps. The idea was and still is to make the game "replayable", allowing the player to make different choices and to decide whether or not to take more challenges. Some maps are indeed accessible by finding certain items. However, the player may not care about the secondary events and thus can experience the game more quickly. The game mechanics The game follows the mechanics of point and click games. The player collects items, which can be combined, can solve puzzles or open locked doors. Elys is powerless in front of her enemies, but there will be times where she will be able to deal with them. Our main character will have the opportunity to acquire a particular ability to deal with some enemies with only the power of the mind. Death Scenes The game features some bloody scenes where the protagonist dies. Between decapitations and dismemberments, our poor Elys has surely seen better days. The Cheshire Cat The final paragraph is dedicated to the Cheshire Cat. He only appears to the protagonist a couple of times, besides telepathically inviting her to make certain actions, but he no doubt wins the role of spiritual guide. 5. Lunar Wish: Orbs Of Fate is an indie role-playing game developed by LusterMX for the RPG fan community. It provides a unique experience unlike other RPGs in the community and has been made to provide the most complete and fulfilling downloadable gameplay experiences players can enjoy. One of the elements which set Lunar Wish: Orbs of Fate apart from other games of its genre is that it does not feature a clear main protagonist, despite initial impressions of leading characters. This has been implemented to allow each and every one of the characters to develop and expand at their own pace; the progression of the storyline is also unique in this respect as each of the characters has a significant part to play in the plot. There is no hierarchy within Lunar Wish: each character is considered integral to the overall storyline and gameplay experience. As a result, the game itself is rich in character development and is supplemented by surprising twists and unexpected methods of progression, which are guaranteed to take the player on their own journey of discovery as they play along with the characters. Comedic elements are also continually employed, to give the game its characteristic feel and tone through the character’s voices. While on the surface, Lunar Wish may seem like an innocuous, unexciting RPG, but in reality it does well to subvert the player’s expectations of the standard RPG template. The gameplay schematic of Lunar Wish was designed to be as simple to understand and play as possible. This was done so that even players who are unfamiliar with the RPG genre could start playing immediately and allow themselves to immerse themselves in the world of Lunar Wish. There are no complex systems to learn and the learning curve is kept minimal as to allow as much of the game to shine through as possible. Skill Trees are used within the game to obtain new skills: this system allows the player to further expand their experience with the game as they progress and become more familiar with the game’s structure. As the characters learn new skills and become more adept in battle, as does the player. The simplistic yet effective system of each character focusing on a different element, tactic and strategy means that battling is always enjoyable without ever being overwhelming. Lunar Wish is ideally suited to casual gamers, but the prime difficulty level means that there are always new challenges ready to surprise and test the player’s ability to think on their feet. Lunar Wish succeeds in bridging the gap between simplicity and difficulty which is a common problem amongst many games of this genre. Lunar Wish: Orbs Of Fate has been in development for 5 long gruelling years and is truly a labour of love devoted to members of the RPG fanbase community. It has finally been completed as of 27th April 2013. Estimates would place the total game time at just over 12 hours, but take note that Orbs of Fate is just the first part of an epic duo of RPG games, the second of which will be coming very soon. I hope you enjoy playing Lunar Wish: Orbs of Fate just as much as I enjoyed making and developing it. Happy playing! Prologue (Past) Serathium… the fabled land of legends… home to Angels, Beasts and Vampires, and most importantly, the Heart, Spirit and Soul of Existence itself. The Lunar Orb. The Lunar Orb is an integral part of all life which thrives on this planet. Ingrained onto the face of the harsh red earth at the beginning of time, The Orb proved to be the source of the beauty and vitality which is instilled in the natural world. The fertile soil gave way to abundant plants and creatures who lived in peace with the Orb and its surroundings. The land of Serathium became synonymous with the golden era of concordance and tranquillity and the delicate balance of the forces of nature meant that life in Serathium was like living in the Garden of Eden itself… until that one fateful day. The Orb changed without warning and led the land of Serathium into an era of chaos and mass destruction. No one, not even the heralded Angels of Serathium knew what to do in this terrifying situation. Apart from one. A young Angel known as Fate emerged from the impeding darkness and attempted to restore harmony to the land using an ancient technique known as The Sending. But her efforts to calm the Orb down were for naught, as her brave, yet reckless attempt to rescue Serathium results in her being sealed away for an innumerable number of years – possibly for the rest of all time. The people of Serathium could only watch as The Lunar Orb started to lose control and the very foundations of the universe itself begin to crumble around them. The destruction gave way to an event which no one in the history of time itself could have foreseen: The Rebellion of Serathium. Present Day A thousand years after the events in Serathium, the chaos and madness of the Lunar Orb is nothing but a myth – a story intended to amuse small children when they got restless of life and demanded fantastical stories of the unknown from their parents. For the people of The Isle, life went on much like a dog chasing its tail: in repetitive and tedious circles, not particularly going anywhere but with that element of content – the comfort of the familiar. Around the time of the destruction of the Lunar Orb, four other Orbs appeared surreptitiously on the fabric of existence in various points outside of Serathium, ingraining themselves into the earth much like how the Lunar Orb originally came into existence. The purpose of these Orbs were and still is a mystery, although humans, curious as to what powers these artifacts could hold, sealed them off and protected them fiercely from any potential harm which may come to them. They are the Blue Orb, the Green Orb, the Purple Orb and the Red Orb. They say that time heals all wounds, yet a thousand years later, the fabled land of Serathium is still struggling to recover from its ordeal. The humans on The Isle live without any knowledge of the history and the suffering of this land, which exists parallel to their world, not yet releasing the pain, suffering and destruction which is soon to come… The story begins with a young boy named Falk who is a student at the Applon Academy, which is one of two Academies on The Isle. The gifted and talented of the children gain the privilege of attending Pow Academy, while the others attend Applon. One day he encounters a highly mysterious and seemingly malevolent voice in his room which informs him that someone close to him will disappear – someone who he spent his childhood with participating in activities such as beating each other up, bunking class and pushing bunnies into water. Nostalgic and fond these memories may be, Falk is concerned about nothing but his own “destinyâ€, which he believes is being conveyed to him through this voice, inferring a lifetime of living out his fantasy of being a hero like he always dreamed. But the life of a girl is at stake, and in a whirlpool of conceit and pretentiousness and raging passion and emotions, can the students of Applon Academy find it within themselves to work together and carry out their actions as written in the book of fate? Only time will tell as your journey begins… Fate Spero Class: Angel Gender: Female Age: 1054 One of the first characters you encounter in the game, Fate is the very of definition of coldness and determination. She cares little for other humans and animals, preferring to communicate from a distance through simple gestures and blunt comments, rather than getting close to people emotionally. What you see is what you get with Fate, although there is a part of her which suggests that deep down, she cares for own species and homeland, letting nothing get in the way of her goals and dreams. Angel she may be, but Fate is far from angelic. Falk Valor Class: Warrior Gender: Male Age: 16 Your typical, teenage warrior. You think he’s cliché, others think he’s cliché, even he thinks he’s cliché. Falk is a narcissist through and through: he lives in a fantasy world which involves nothing but him and his own delusional heroism to keep him company through the night. Arrogant and conceited, Falk would gladly place his own emotions before anyone else’s, because lets face it, who is more important to Falk than the great hero himself? He’s beyond happy when he receives what he thinks is a calling to his heroic destiny, but it’s evident that Falk is in desperate need of a wake-up call of a different kind, if you know what I mean. Tash Fletcher Class: Archer Gender: Female Age: 17 Tash is a brash, vain teenage girl. Much like Falk, she considers others to be beneath her, preferring to spend her free time gazing into a mirror rather than going to class. She spends more time in detention than out of it due to her constant attempts to bunk, much to the exasperation of her teacher. It’s probably because of this that she’s a bit stupid: she once killed a bunny for training which actually turned to be her best friend’s pet. She disappears after Falk receives a message from a mysterious purple blur, just making sure that her hair and make-up still looks good is all that matters to Tash. Cindy Pulte Class: Mage Gender: Female Age: 16 Whereas characters like Falk and Tash are stuck in their own personal little fantasy worlds, Cindy has her feet stuck firmly on the ground. To her, studying and preparing for her future always comes first before everything else, which is why she’s so devastated when Falk blackmails her into coming with him, effectively ruining her chances of becoming an intellectual. Cindy is never afraid to speak her mind, being very vocal about her opinions towards Falk’s fantasies of being a hero. She can’t tolerate any stupid or illogical individuals, so as a result is very independent and self-confident in her actions as she knows not to rely on other people as they would only let her down. There are PLENTY of other characters but I'll limit it to these few for now... They are the first that you'll see in the game but have no more significance than some characters not shown here. More Screenshots Custom Gadgets Most of the gadgets I have made have been fully evented by me. They make puzzles so much more interesting! Minigames There are quite a few challenging mini games in the game as well. There's a cow whipping mini game, a throwing star action mini game and more... Puzzles Each dungeon isn't only walk, battle, walk battle... I have also made sure each dungeon has a unique and interesting puzzle... And trust me, there are plenty of dungeons Portal Station There are a lot of towns and villages in my game so that getting around with a teleporting system makes it much more flexible and easy! Scenes I would say that the flow of the storyline getting revealed bit by bit is really smooth due to the amount of effort I put into each and every scene. There are many comedic instances as well in which you will either love/hate a character. Battle System I use the Sideview Battle system, but I have customized it a lot so it has A LOT of original animations. Hence, discovering what each skill looks like and bringing in new techniques your party can gain will make battling very fun and enjoyable. Skill Tree In this game, you won't learn new Spells/Skills by leveling up. Instead, you get skill points in which you can decide what build your characters can become. What skills they learn is entirely up to you with each character given a unique Skill Tree. Multiple Parties The game does not focus on the same characters all the time. It transitions between different people so you get to explore more ground of The Isle and meet many new characters. Plenty of Side Quests Bored of progressing the main quest? Take the challenge of acquiring 100% completion and redeem the benefits! Discover hidden scenes, equipment and items to make your Lunar Wish adventure that much more exciting. Exploring and traveling different areas plays a major part to the game! The Isle The main area of the game. Three of the four orbs are located here. The capital of the isle is Tyrone City. Each major town/city/village of the isle has their own special captain who's job is to protect the town at all costs and serve justice for the citizens that live there. The Isle is what you can see in the map above. It is the main area in Lunar Wish: Orbs of Fate. The Dream World What is this place? Why does it exist? I can only tell you here that this is a special world which plays a fairly big part to the story. Serathium As stated above, this is the place where Spiritual live beings such as Angels, Beasts and Vampires live. It is a very magical and beautiful land which is currently in utter destruction due to the chaos of the Lunar Orb and the Rebellion beginning. Konzyez Another island near the Isle on Earth. It is where the elite, the ultra powerful, gifted and talented go! And yes, this is where the Pow Academy is located, the place Cindy longs to go to. Credits Download Now! A Nightmare in Sunnydale

In her original world, Buffy Anne Summers was a vampire slayer, keeping the town of Sunnydale clean of demonic scum. Somehow, she finds herself in the world of Nowhere, with no memory of who she is or what her life was like before waking up here. Accompanying her is Dean Winchester, a demon hunter, and Ash Williams, a demon slave turned demon lord. Like her, they are both from other worlds. As Buffy and company strive to solve the mysteries of the world--and of Buffy herself--they encounter a clique of supernaturals who will stop at nothing to claim this world as their own, and have their target square on Buffy, Buffy has to decide if escape is more important than settling the score with that demon clique, whose scheme will disrupt all of reality. Besides, will the entity controlling this world let Buffy and her new friends escape? Features: - Choose from 12 playable characters that can be swapped in and out of battle at will - Sandbox gameplay - Semi-customize your characters by designating them to the weapon of your choice. Some characters have up to 30-40 skills learned, while others can have close to a hundred - Multiple endings Cast: Buffy Summers Once a fierce warrior and feared among demons in her original world, she has lost all memories of her former self and fights to return things to normal. She's mostly a sweet young woman, although prone to sarcasm. She's strong willed, determined and focused, if a little dense at times. How to recruit Automatic Dean Winchester In his original world, he and his brother were powerful demon hunters. Unlike Buffy, he remembers his life on the "other side" and wants to find his brother at all costs. He can easily be mistaken for a mindless brute, but he is actually quite intelligent, possessing adequate knowledge about the occult. He's a loyal ally, if brutally honest, and has a tendency to make inappropriate jokes. How to recruit Automatic Ash J Williams Ash was once an average S-Mart employee until a trip to a cabin changed his life forever. He was sent into a demon realm, where he was a slave until gaining enough strength to become a demon lord himself. He is desperate to return to his kingdom and is willing to do whatever it takes to get there. How to recruit Choose to keep him after getting rid of the Vexicon spawn Heather Lagenkamp In her home world, she was an actress who received her big break by starring in the original "A Nightmare on Elm Street." After some strange occurrences that transpired during the taping of the final film in the series, Heather took time off to focus on her family. She was ready to return to cinema when a car accident led her to this nightmarish world. Heather desires to return home, but is she who she says she is? How to recruit She will join your party during the Craven Estate sequences and will stay with you unless you choose to go to Satellite Tower without her Hercules Born a half-God and half-human, Hercules possess strength well beyond any human who's ever lived. He is noble and wise well beyond his years, and is always focused on the larger picture. In his original world, he protected the helpless of the wickedness that threatened them. However, the lack of helpless citizens to protect in this world has left him feeling a little lost and purposeless... How to recruit When entering Lost Highway for the first time, follow Buffy's instincts. Assist Hercules in the battle, and he will join you. Save Xena and you will have the option of recruiting him, or Xena. Xena Once a powerful and merciless killing machine, Xena saw the error of her ways and began to fight for redemption. Doing so forced Xena to go through many trials and tribulations, but a loyal companion remained by her side through it all, and they eventually became lovers. However, Xena has strangely seemed to regress to her earlier ways. Can she be helped? How to recruit First, recruit Hercules. Defeat her at the end of the Lost Highway. Take her back to Rham Jas in Moonshadow and she can be recruited afterward. Rham Jas A young psychic and exorcist, who once tried to save a young woman from having her soul undeservedly dragged to Hell. Despite his best efforts, he failed the young woman and has never been able to forgive himself for it. Since then, Jas has been longing for the opportunity to redeem himself and perhaps try once more to save the young woman. Is he up for the challenge? How to recruit First, you need to complete the Lost Highway quest. After saving Xena, you will have the opportunity to allow him into your party. Keep in mind, you don't need to have Xena or Hercules in your party to recruit him. Count Dracula As the King of all vampires, his name along strikes fear into the hearts of a man. As a mortal, he was deeply in love with a woman named Elisabeta, and cursed the angels in Heaven when she was taken away from him. He longs to be reunited with her in the afterlife. How to recruit Complete the Dracula's Castle dungeon. You can recruit him anytime, but it is recommended that you recruit him before you enter the Amethyst Caves (if you seek him out before you enter the caves, he will be a temporary party member -- you will be given the choice to let him stay full-time at the end of the Amethyst Caves). Anyanka A Vengeance Demon who wrecked havoc upon men for over one thousand years at the request of their scorned lovers, whose pain the Vengeance Demons answered to. Anyanka was called to Sunnydale, where she was defeated and forced to live as a human. Because of the dimensional shift, the Anyanka persona split into its own body, and has no intentions of being human again. How to recruit When in the Woods, choose to take a rest. Next, complete the Sunnydale dungeon. Successfully defeat Anyanka and choose to keep her pendant. Next, after you complete the Limbo dungeon, go back to the Amethyst Caves to find the Katarzyna stone. Take the stone to Sacrificial Altar, and the choice to recruit her is yours. You have until defeating Bateman in the Undersea Base to recruit her (for real). Jason As a boy, the negligence of two lustful camp counselors caused him to drown and he was thought to be dead. He lived off the land, growing stronger as his mind deteriorated. As an adult, he watched the death of his mother, and sought to kill anything that dared step foot in his home. He was later killed, and revived by Krueger for reasons unknown. How to recruit Defeat Jason three times, whether in Satellite Tower, or in the Amethyst Caves. Once you have his picture, find his grave, and persuade him not to fight with you. When given a choice, choose, "Oh look, zombie," and always choose the most sympathetic choice thereafter. You will then be given a choice to recruit him. Warning, if you've completed the Sunnydale dungeon, then you'll have to wait until after you've completed Limbo to obtain him. You will NOT be able to get him while 'Dummy Buffy' is on the team. Matthew Garetty A popular high school student who, with his best friend and cousin, found a living crystal in a cave underground that gave him psychokinetic powers. His cousin lost control of his powers, and Matt is searching desperately to find him before his cousin makes a mistake he can't correct. How to recruit Enter the Magnetic Field with fewer than eight party members. Cordelia Chase In her human life, she was a cheerleader at Sunnydale High before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. There, she started working for a company called "Angel Investigates," where she was part of a team that protected innocents from supernatural forces. Things took a turn for the worst when she was possessed by a malevolent entity shortly after becoming a higher being. Trying to forcibly change her destiny, she feels guilty for having created this world, but is she really its creator? How to recruit She will guest-join for your tip to Limbo. Afterwards, if a slot is available, you will have the option to recruit her for good. 8. Hey again good people of the RPG Maker Forums, Any feel up to reading/critiquing another story concept? This one, I feel, is my big one - the passion project that first started Tuesday, June 18th, 2011, at 1:04:02 AM. Don't ask how I know that. The title is a work in progress, and here has a potential working title, because I'd rather not have this post show up if someone Googles the actual name. The story has gone through I don't know how many re-drafts over the following years, but this is the first time I've ever actually written out the whole thing, because it's the first time I've decided to speak publicly about it. I'm putting it out here now in its first ever finished state and am looking for any questions, suggestions, or commends, and honest harsh criticism that you might have. One main question I ask myself is that, because I'll probably only ever get the chance to tell this story right, is RPG Maker the correct medium for this concept? I certainly won't make it my first game, but something, of course, to one day get down and start. Because nobody really has the time or patience to read big paragraphs of somebody else's story I'm going to try to format the story into a series of chewable spoiler chunks, in point form. For those that really just want the gist, I've bolded all the parts pretty vital to the plot and added some TL;DR . Fair warning, it's a bit of an Odyssey and has some materials suitable only for a mature audience... The WAY-BACK-BACKSTORY and SETTING The BACK-BACKSTORY The BACKSTORY The actual god-damn PLOT Chaosian Fun Fact: it took me 4 hours to write this post.

    Gray: Wisp of Magius

INFO Director : Titan_12 Engine : RPG Maker VX Ace Genre : Fantasy and Comedy Playtime : Approx. 1-2 Hours Size: With RTP - 343 MB, Without RTP - 156 MB STORY Gray: Wisp of Magius is a comedy and fantasy-type game that takes place in a fictional world named Magius, where wisps are the creators of the world, different from their folkloric definition. The world of Magius is filled with wisps that cannot be seen by humans, except for two certain types. This is because they live in a different dimension yet coinciding with the world. The player will take the role of Byakuro, a second-year student at a school that teaches people how to be a hero. Every year the students of this school are required to take another entrance exam to separate stronger people from the average ones. On the day of the entrance exam, Byakuro slept in and is gonna be late but luckily his girlfriend, Lillia, woke him. As they dash to the entrance exams, misadventures ensued. This game is rather short; the gameplay only lasting for 1 to 2 hours, but is in fact an introduction to a very complex tale, with a sequel that is still being planned. Features: · Branching storylines; the player can achieve at least four different endings, depending on the decisions made during the game. · Introduction/Prologue to the Gray Series. · Humour mostly involving fourth wall breaking. · Aesthetically pleasing battle system · Changeable Settings. · Very short story: about 1-2 hours’ worth of gameplay. Characters Byakuro - The Protagonist Our Protagonist. He is rather lazy for a hero, and is even too arrogant and overconfident. He, however, is as strong as he boasts. There are quite a lot of mysteries surrounding him and about him, but he would rather shrug it off instead of actually learning more about it. Lillia - The Girlfriend The childhood friend and the love interest of our hero. Her strength is mediocre, but she's quite skilled at healing. PS: Her father only forced her on a date with the hero for the sake of screentime. Despite this, they actually love each other. Ren - The Rival Guy He is rivals with Byakuro ever since they met. Even among their rivalry, and the hero's arrogance, Byakuro has admitted that Ren is stronger than him when it comes to swordsfighting. Alice - The Alice of Wanderland She is a transfer student from Wanderland. Yes, Wanderland, without typo. While her healing skills are much better than Lillia's, compared to her, she is actually very fragile. Brenda - The Misandrist She is a girl talented at archery, and notably disgusted at the sight of men. While her strength is of average level, Byakuro has openly admitted that she is better than him at archery. 12. I'm also covering SIC on my blog at Pixel Brady Pixel Brady: Scima Invasion Crew, lazily titled by breeding Sci-Fi and fantasy magic into the system, is a short repeatable game based around a small crew of specialists who invade a rebel base to save the world or some such. Truthfully there's not really much of a story! Play now? v1.2 is out now and can be downloaded from Mediafire. Playtime? Each playthrough clocks around 30~40 mins on average (at least during the test runs) but with three routes to the end and ten classes to pick from (as well as passwords to unlock extra features after completing a run) it's designed to be playable more than once! Features, you ask? Sci-Fi & Magic! Handguns, grenades, combat specialists and magicians all wrapped up together in a mission to punch through an evil base! Simple maps, simple graphics, simple story. It's a simple game with simple mechanics. Sounds boring maybe, but that's part of the point; to just be able to dive right in and play with class combinations! No free recovery points or Inns to stay at. You need to rely entirely on your crew and any supplies you find. You begin with plenty of supplies but they start running out as the enemies get stronger! Conservation is key! No levels! Your crew is always stronger and better than any baddies you find (except bosses!) so your only worry is supply attrition; can you save all your best stuff for the bosses? Ten available classes to mix, match and combine into your crew. With eight common skills between everyone and four unique skills per class, there's plenty of tactical differences between using each class. All skills have unique and varied damage calculations which are shown in the descriptions for you to accurately and tactically decide which skills are best used at any given time. Permanent death! Losing someone hurts your chances of completing the mission, but airlocks across the base allow you a chance to request backup from four other crew members waiting to aid you! Three different paths leading to the bases inexplicable core. Each path can be backtracked and taken (if you want) to give you different bosses and paths to take when trying different class combos. Unlockable Boss Rush Mode! Fight every boss in the game in direct succession with no ammo refills, no backup calls and no breathing time between! Unlockable Survival Mode! Fight an endless supply of baddies with random bosses mixed in! Three optional bosses who make even the General look like a miniboss! Oh no! Screenies? Oh, it was Details you wanted? It's a simple game based off a simple concept I wanted to try implementing. There's literally more tutorial textboxes than there are dialogue/story, as that was never really a part of it. I liked the idea of seeing sci-fi and fantasy magic put together (which is something I rarely see) but wasn't as interested in story as the concept itself. It also helped with the skills, as I mixed together "tech points" (a victor script) and mp use. Between the ten classes who have their own skilltrees, everyone has a various mix of skills utilising both of them to different degrees. By then putting unique damage calcs to each skill that involved a mixture of stats, and then limiting ammo boxes and mp tonics, it forces you to tactically decide which skills to use when, so you always have some left over for the boss. These classes include a Marine who uses firearms to attack. These weapons do very strict damage that's modified only by an enemies defence. They target single enemies, while Grenadiers will use explosives that target everyone. There's also a Healer who uses magic that heals based both on their magic attack, but the targets own magic stats as well. Healers use magic to heal whole groups at once, while Medics use single target heal and buffs that (non-magically) deal strict amounts rather than stat based. The rest of the game? The mapping is uninspired visually, although the game as a whole is mapped out in such a way that there are three separate routes to the boss (with backtracking possible) so I just spent more time actually planning routes than trying to prettify it. I kept one tileset throughout the whole game, but made an effort to change the basic visual look after every couple of bosses. But besides that; you can save anywhere, death is a permanent feature so you have to conserve even peoples lives, but every so often you'll find an airlock where you can request up to four more people to come and help you. Most importantly is just the cute, chibi battle appearance! So harmless looking, but I think it goes well Anyhoo, blether over. Credits?
  13. UPDATE: Currently not taking any more requests. I have 3 games to catch up on, but current lifetime events take precedence, and the 'coming soon' release of Inwards demo. I'll be taking more once I chip away 1-2 of the games on the short list. ------------------------------------- So, now I'm doing Reviews and Tutorials on my new YouTube account, and should I managed to fix the lag/delay issue with Twitch, I will occasionally livestream as well. This time I've started with Legionwood: A Tale of Two Swords (I didn't even realize this was the example in the Rules/Guidelines when I began the video... ) by Dark Gaia to whet the appetite, and I've also played/recorded Project X by Tahara. IMO, my Project X video has funnier moments in it, but I won't release it until I've got the author's go-ahead since it is still alpha. I will also take requests, but we'll get to that (scroll down). LET'S PLAY! LIST! ------------------------------------------------------------ FULL REVIEW! LIST! ------------------------------------------------------------ TUTORIAL! LIST! ------------------------------------------------------------ REQUESTS! If you would like to have your demo or full game reviewed or simply played, PM me or leave a message here. I can and will do Let's Plays of RPG Makers not VXA, but please provide a link to them. They'll end up in my YouTube channel one way or another. A review is different from a Let's Play--when reviewing, I will focus mainly on critiquing and acknowledging the game's mechanics and story. Also, level design, character design, originality and/or creativity, technical skill (both with RPG Maker and basic skills like spelling/grammar). When doing a Let's Play, it's pretty much for fun and enjoyment, though I will point out things I do an do not enjoy. And last but not least, if you yourself have anything to say about my Let's Play channel or questions/comments, feel free to contact me via my YouTube channel or PM me here. Review: Skinwalker

Disclaimer: All opinions expressed herein are my own and reflect only my views of this game. There also may be spoilers. Created by: SnowOwl Can be found here: http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/topic/14388-skinwalker/ Estimated playtime: 15-20 minutes Introduction: Four friends from the same university go out camping together. But while gathering firewood, strange sounds can be heard from the forest. After that, things get gradually worse. - SnowOwl This game is classed as horror. I'm easily frightened, but Skinwalker intrigued me, to say the least. Completely out of my mind, I decided to download and play this game. I live in an area with plenty of Skinwalker myths, so I was intrigued to see it in this form of media. Game-play / Level Design: This game lacks combat, relying on story telling, minor environmental interaction and scarce decisions to push the game toward an end (there were more than one). Overall, game-play accomplished what it had to. Game-play was simplistic, easy to understand and didn't detract from the experience. In that same light, it also did not add to it either. There were only a few things with which to interact other than NPCs and none of them particularly stood out. Note: The fact that the Z key on the keyboard is the confirmation button is irregular and downright annoying. The Enter key would have been more appropriate. As for Level Design, there are only a few areas in which this game to actually explore. None of them are expansive, but this serves well. This game is rather short, and thus there is no need to have a huge map on which to move. Everything is kept minimal, while still conveying where you are and where to go. I was lost only once and only because it was not made apparent where I needed to go. Game-play Score: 5/10 for ease of control, but lack of any outstanding feature or interaction Level Design Score: 8/10 for environments that fit the intended minimalist feel and served purpose effectively Story / Writing Mechanics: This is the area the game suffers from the most. Aside from minor grammar issues, the writing is somewhat bland. There was no piece of text that ever made me feel particularly attached or involved in the story. Additionally, the reason behind the Skinwalker's importance is never made clear enough in my opinion. It, in my honest opinion, was there only for the sake of filling the horror monster role. Additionally, character development is severely needed. Much like most stock horror films, your given a hollow cast of characters who only serve as victims for the 'beast 'and vessels for the story. You cannot feasibly become attached to these characters unless you were to sit and develop a back story yourself. Otherwise, their generic horror 'fodder'. My key suggestion would be to expand on the idea of this game, and extend the amount of time to play. Good horror in my opinion takes a bit of time to build up. An hour long expansion of this game would be more appealing, if character and story development were fleshed out more appropriately. Story/Writing Score: 3/10 for a basic but promising story, that needs further revision and development Resources Used (Audio, Visuals, Scripts): This is the area Skinwalker stands out in. As far as I can see, all graphics and audio are custom. Graphically, the game has a very unique style. Though I personally do not care for the style, artistically speaking it definitely is eye-catching. The style is also very consistent, even with character graphics. Visually this game stands out from other RPG Maker games I've encountered. Note: There are a few trees who are slightly brighter than the surrounding environment, as well as a single tree that sticks out during a certain scene. Though consistent with style, I feel they were out of place in their respective environments. Audio also has some outstanding qualities. Mainly ambient sounds, they definitely fit in perfectly with their environments. With the exception of an iconic 'metallic' sound, the audio compliments each scene well. Resources were used exceptionally well to convey a horror atmosphere, in light of the less-than-optimal writing. Resources Score: 9/10 for resources the fit near perfectly with the game's theme, with minimal negligible discrepancies Overall Experience: Was I scared? To some extent. However, the writing did not serve well enough to really instill fear in me. I will admit that the initial scenes around the tent area had my heart racing a bit. What killed the experience for me was ironically the jump-scares. They seemed forced and predictable. Dark silhouette in the forest coming towards you? Seen it, and seen it pulled off more effectively as well. Ultimately, the one thing that ruined the horror vibe is a certain face that flashes on screen in a particular scene. To be honest it looked like a Dia de los Muertos(Day of the Dead) skull, which made me giggle. Not intended by the creator I'm sure. Game-play Score: 5/10 Level Design Score: 8/10 Story/Writing Score: 3/10 Resources Score: 9/10 Final Score: 6/10 Final thoughts This games true weakness, in my eyes, is the inability to immerse the player in a horror atmosphere. While not a terrible game, there are some improvements to be made. Writing, specifically character development and the reason for the Skinwalker's appearance, need the most improvement. Game-play could also be touched up. Not a bad game, definitely worth a quick play. Just not memorable enough to warrant a decent reaction from me.
  15. The One Night trilogy is a series of completed survival horror games made in RPG Maker VX released between 2008 and 2011. Each game contains roughly three to four hours of gameplay, multiple endings and an involving story. The games have generated quite a bit of interest over the years, being featured in PC Gamer magazine and having a series of Let's Play videos made about them. One Night One Night is a survival horror game made in RPG Maker VX, released in late 2009. It holds the dubious honour of being the very first survival horror game made for the engine. A frightening Resident Evil-esque experience, One Night challenges you to escape from "The Complex", a crumbling, abandoned research facility while being hunted mercilessly by the remnants of a long forgotten experiment. Relentless monsters and difficult puzzles await around every corner - can you survive the horror? 16. Hey everyone, I've always been interested in doing a Let's Play and I finally bought myself a headset and Fraps so that I can do just that. Because this is my first Let's Play, any constructive criticism and/or advice will be greatly appreciated. My first Let's Play is going to be for Lunar Wish: Orbs of Fate by LusterMX. Some general notes about my playthrough: I'm playing the game blind (I haven't even read the topic itself). I'm generally a very thorough player. I hate progressing the story if I think there's somewhere I haven't explored yet or someone I haven't spoken to. You might notice that I re-enter the same rooms multiple times as I tend to forget if I've explored it already...
