Hello~ I'm Ruedefaux. Primarily I'm an illustrator, but for the past few years I've been experimenting with music making under the name Lolistomp. I'm not too used to sharing my music so openly since it's just something fun I do at the moment, but why not? Currently I make theme songs and such for my own characters as it helps me with ideation process when I draw and/or write stories, and sometimes I make songs with the intention of possibly using them for future projects when I learn the fundamentals. I'm heavily inspired by the hardcore genre, Gabber, along with retro game music-- so my stuff tends to lean towards the noisy and repetitive side for the most (definitely not within everyone's tastes LOL but that's okay with me). Sometimes I experiment loosely with other genres as well. Here's a few of my favourites so far: EDIT: huh... probably shouldve considered the order I listed these songs due to their images, but I'm too amused to switch around the last two... :')

My philosophy: There seems to be a sad trend in incidental music (music for games, movies, shows, etc.) for what I call "extreme ambience," that is to say that the intent is to make the music so far in the background you barely notice it. Now, don't get me wrong, a more ambient soundtrack is definitely better for genres such as horror or suspense, but outside of that, the best soundtracks in history are the ones that provided a character all their own. What would "Star Wars" be without that massive orchestral fanfare to open up with? Would it really be a Mario game without those catchy platforming melodies that you can't help but hum to as you leap and run through each level? All of my music--save for horror commissions--is based around the same formula that made the classic game soundtracks of yesteryear work: a strong melodic background that conjures up imagery and will stick in your players' heads after they're done, giving your game a truly memorable soundtrack that they'll associate with your game forevermore. My influences: Nobuo Uematsu--the guy behind Final Fantasy music for those who don't know--is my single biggest influence in terms of game music in particular, though my focus on imagery-inspiring music comes from Koji Kondo (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc). Outside game music, I find inspiration in the works of Romantic composers such as Tchaikovsky, as well as film composers such as Max Steiner, John Williams, and Danny Elfman. My business model: You give me details of what you're looking for, and I'll do my best to make something to fit. I'll give you a free preview of the work--if you like, I'll even give you a preview of the work while it's still in-progress so you can hear what I have so far--and if you have ANY reservations or complaints at all, I'll immediately fix them in whatever way you want. I will never charge you for a product you're not 100% satisfied with! And my commissioned work thus far (NOT available for use by anyone other than the commissioner): My list of rules: Try and give me a specific idea of what you want beforehand. For example, what is the context of the music (Love theme, Sad music, Town music, Character theme)? Is there something specific about the context to take into consideration (Tragic/happy love story, Village/City/Port town, Hero/Villain/Comic relief character)? What kind of instruments are you looking for? The more specific you can get, the faster I can get it done and the better the quality will be! I only accept paypal, all contact via PM. Use of my original stuff is free for non-commercial use only. If you want to use it in a commercial project, you will need to pay for it (see below). I reserve the right to put any composition I write up on my Youtube channel. The channel serves as a portfolio of sorts; if you don't want the piece to be publicly available, you will need to let me know in advance. That said, if you allow it, I will of course give credit to you and your game so that other people can't steal it for their own project. I don't work on strict timetables. Good music can't be rushed; if you need it in a certain amount of time, I will do my best to have something for you to hear within the general area of when you want it, but I can't guarantee with absolute certainty that it will be completely finished by then. You MUST give me credit (as Casey Kendall/CoGDork) in the credits of your game. This is obvious, really. Pricing is as follows (all prices in USD): Commercial License for Original Music (per track): $5 Short jingles (10 seconds or less): $3 Small ensembles (1-3 instruments): $5 Medium ensembles (4-8 instruments): $7 Large ensembles/Full Orchestra (9+ instruments): $15 NEW BUNDLE DISCOUNTS! 5-Jingle Bundle: $10 (instead of $15) 5-Small Bundle: $15 (instead of $25) Commercial Collection License Bundle (use ALL of my original stuff in your commercial project): $20 All of these examples are for looping pieces. If you want a full-length epic theme that doesn't loop, the price is negotiable based on the number of instruments and the length of the piece. If you want to commission a full soundtrack, that is also negotiable.

Hello there! I'm a longtime professional composer and musician. I'm here to show off my work. I'll be updating this thread from time to time. I was inspired to start making music since I was very young, from playing games like Super Mario Bros 3. The catchy, tinny music captivated my ears and my imagination. Some of my biggest musical influences Include Koji Kondo, Jun Ishikawa, Aivi Tran, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Loreena McKennitt, John Williams, Joel Chernoff, and many others. The biggest single thing to influence my works are music from early Kirby games (Characterized by their heavy usage of rhythmic arpeggios in their music). If you have any questions, please ask away. Some frequently asked questions: Here is my portfolio preview. Please enjoy! I'll be adding to this thread periodically with some old favorites and some new uploads.

Hiya everyone! I'm on the search for a composer for my game! What is the game like? It's a strange game. It will be an RPG, so there's that. I'd rather not reveal much through here, I'd give you more information in an email or otherwise. What style of music? Ideally, strange music to match the strange game. The songs would be around 1-2 minutes in length. The following are encompassed in the mesh of genres that would be used for the songs: Ambient Horror Light electronica Jumbled nonsense Some orchestral elements I don't trust you, are there any other games you've made? I made a decently popular game Party 2. Well then, what's your budget? My budget is flexible, given the flexible nature of the amount of songs/shortness of the songs. I think I'd like to pay by the minute. $8 USD is reasonable I think. But again, I'm flexible. If you don't have a paypal I will rip my eyes out with two rusty sewing needles. Relax. I have a paypal, and that is what I intend to pay with. Well I'm sold. How should I contact you? Hit me up with a PM, we'll further discuss things there. Don't bring any sewing needles. I look forward to hearing from you!

VestigialNRG posted a topic in Music Room
Hello there everyone, i've posted a few times here and there, but i've never really saught to openly advertise myself or show my face that much, mainly because im somewhat shy. ^^ I want to try to introduce myself without sounding like im bragging...So i think in the only way to do that, so people don't think i'm lying just to make myself look good. So i'm going to screenshot what they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. I'd rather screenshot these, instead of openly saying people say my music is within the AAA Ranks, because then people would automatically assume im an arrogant person with no particular talent and i have an over headed ego... Because AAA is like when Final Fantasy's music was REALLY good, you thought of good video game music and you instantly brought up Final Fantasy. Those times. Here is my soundcloud, where i upload my own video game music. https://soundcloud.com/insydnis This is where i upload my electronica. https://soundcloud.com/djobscure Coming from my own point of view on myself, i don't think im THAT good. xD but hey, as long as the fans are happy with the music then that's all that should really matter right? I have a passion for making music and i love to inspire other musicians! And i'm very linient with the distributions. i will gladly let you use any of it, so long as you give me proper credit! I'll even work for you for FREE (You descide wheather to pay me or not.) I'm just looking for more opinions and possibly feedback and meet and greet new people with interests in music and to introduce myself and meet and talk to people, hopefully make some friends! Thanks for reading all of this -
Well hello there RPG Maker world. My name's KainLightsworn, but you can call me Kain for short. Or Light. Or whatever you want, really. Just not late for dinner/rehearsal. I'm currently a senior musical theatre major in college- which will account for some of my tendencies to go 'poof' off the face of the forums for certain months, as my schedule is insanely packed. (If all goes well, I graduate next semester. Which is exciting and also really scary.) Using RPG Maker has been mostly a hobby for me, something I've done off and on over the years. I have a really bad case of idea ADD, so I have this horrible habit of jumping from project to project as boredom strikes, but I have one project to which I seem to continually return- Ad Lucem. It is for this project a lot of my musical postings in this forum will appear, even though it's more an XP project than a VX Ace one. Though that is potentially subject to change. RPG Maker, for me, tends to be more of a medium through which I can put into practice two things I really love doing: writing and composing music. I've always loved game/soundtrack type music, so working on my own is a really fulfilling and rewarding experience for me. And writing has always been a delight to me. Writing in the context of fantasy just makes me really happy. I was fairly active on the RPG Maker VX forums before they went down. I'm still kind of sad about that, as I took a break and came back to find the site gone. But I'm hoping a bit more action can happen here while time is still a thing I have in my schedule. I think that's about it. Nice to meet everyone, and I look forward to seeing what kind of projects are made here!

Hi RPG fans, I used to mess around with rpg makers about a decade ago in high school, mostly making character sprites and designing towns and maps. I tend to put a lot of attention to detail in my work, and I'm not satisfied until a game takes on a character of its own and is immersive. Anyway, I'm really just a passionate hobbyist who's willing to collaberate with others. Lemme know if you need an artist for your game or if you have any other questions. Also, I especially enjoy RPGs with battle systems similar to Final Fantasy, Zelda/ARPG, Star Ocean 2, and Roguelikes. -Rishky

Hello all! I am new to this forum, but I thought it would be a great idea to introduce myself! my name is Calbert Warner and I am an inspiring Videogame composer. I come from somewhat of a classical background since I have played the piano for about four years. I am a huge Nobuo Uematsu Fan as he also taught himself how to play the piano at a fairly young age. I also draw inspiration from artists such as Dave Wise, Yuzo Koshiro, Elton John, Koji Kondo, Nujabes, Zircon, Yoko Shimomura, Aivi Tran, and Hans Zimmer. I have always been an avid listener of video game music since playing Super Castlevania 4, Super Mario World and Donkey Kong. Each game had such memorable tunes that had me humming for days on end, but my spark to compose was triggered by Nobuo Uematsu's work (Particularly in FF4 and FF9). He really brought life to the environments of the game and I wanted to bring that same rush of emotion to players as well.
