    I'm new here and will be helping on the Ardenian Legends: The Fall of Arcana Project as one of the artists. See you guys around.

Dia Waldgrave Age: 18 Race: Human Occupation: Digital Artist (Formerly) Game Developer (Formerly) Grey Hat Hacker (Currently) Affiliation: HER Threat Level: High Dia Waldgrave is a young grey hat hacker. She joins the terrorist group HER to take down the tyrannical dictatorship of the Daedelus Order Syndicates. She is a kind girl who watches over her father and their shop and cares deeply for others, including her little sisters, Nia and Yoshino, and her best friend Xander Orion. However, Dia has a violent temper and curses like a temperamental and uncultured schoolgirl when upset or angered. Which unfortunately,for certain people, is all the time. But normally she appears quiet and reserved, with a keen interest in reading, writing, drawing, and hacking. A quiet and introverted girl, Dia may seem to be lifeless and apathetic in comparison towards those she doesn’t know, but is very friendly and cheerful around friends. She enjoys simple hobbies, such as reading and writing, and rather complex hobbies, such as developing video games, something she is overly passionate about and dreams of one day mastering as a renowned triple-A developer. However, she excels most in hacking. She has done various minor cyber attacks that aren’t too harmful to others, such as rewriting Security Droids’ coding so that they start using profane language towards citizens. While she cares deeply for her little sisters, they anger her (perhaps not as much as others do) and most of her stress comes from not knowing how to act around them. As well as showing her softer side to others. Underneath her calm exterior is an angry, raged filled girl ready to yell at or murder the first person who pisses her off. This is intentionally triggered by some people, such as Sogekihei, whom Dia is incredibly jealous of due to his impeccable skill in sharpshooting and writing, Mei, who brags how big her breasts are compared to Dia’s, and just about anyone who mentions her flaws, intentional or unintentional. Dia is a pale skinned girl with measurements consisting of 82B, 60W, 83H, and weight of 36 kg(~79 lbs). She has waist-long vermillion colored hair and dull blue eyes. Sometimes Dia would wear a black beanie with her favorite game’s logo on it. Dia is usually seen wearing an opened black jacket with red accents and dark grey lining over a white t-shirt that reads “Veni, Vedi, Veciâ€, black jeans with steel pads on the knees and skating shoes she had modified with compression boosters. Dia’s weapon of choice is her wrist swords that she had crafted herself. The weapon takes the form of two retractable, serrated blades between six inches in length and two inches wide that extend over the back of the hand from a leather gauntlet worn on Dia's right wrist. She may choose to upgrade her wrist swords to great extents, ranging from being electrically charged with Tesla Nodes to being coated and cooled in a poisonous substance.

Hello Community, I am new to the RPG system and have decided to attempt and create my own game, however, the one thing I am unable to determine is if it is possible to create your character from scratch. The example I have is as followed: Choice 1: Male or Female Choice 2: Pre-generated Character/build or Point base system Choice 3: If Pre-Generated, Go to Choice 4. If point base please select choice 5. Choice 4: Select Character Skin and Start Game Choice 5: With the allowed points, please choose powers, abilities, base stats, etc... Is Choice 5 an option in this Engine? Can we go that much in depth with character creation? You won't have to worry about "Levels" because you will get additional points to learn stuff as you play the game or unlock different abilities under the ones you have already selected. Let me know, Thanks.
  4. I'm looking for a good tutorial or set of tuts that teaches how to make Mack-Style sprites. I'm familiar with their deminsions and how to implement them into a project, I just need better tutorials on the actual art and creation of them. NOT LOOKING FOR: A sprite generator resource sprites, pre-made Anything that does all the work for you. I want to learn how to make them myself, I am just having trouble finding good tutorials as 90% of everything just points to generators and other peoples resource sprites. I don't want it done for me or to use someone else's work. All help with this is greatly appreciated
  5. http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/topic/4017-actor-creation-system/ I noticed Himeworks created a character creation system which is basically something that would work really well for my current game since I'm going for a Wizardry style system. However, I can't seem to apply bonus points to the creator. I can get the creation to pop up, but the bonus points always remain at 0, no matter what I do. I have this as a call script for the event: SceneManager.call(Scene_ActorCreate) SceneManager.scene.add_bonus_stats(n) I've tried changing 'n' to a number like 10 to see if that would change the bonus point to 10. I've also tried changing the bonus stats in the script itself to 10, but it remains 0. On top of this problem, I am also unable to name the character after making my choice. It just gives me a 'yes' 'no' confirmation, then that's it. I've tried looking for a script which basically allows the player to roll for bonus points when creating the character, but this is as close as I could find, so I figured I'd just get a set number of bonus points for every class to allow the player to distribute them however they want (10 seemed reasonable). I don't have the character creation set in the beginning of my game though. Much like Wizardry and other dungeon RPGs, I decided to have it take place in a building, such as a tavern/guild. I love the script itself. I just wish I could find a way to get it to work properly. I haven't even looked into how to add the person to the party yet, so I have no idea where they go after I create them. I figured I'd look into all that after understanding just exactly how this script works. Any help with understanding how to get bonus points and distribute them, plus name the character with this script, would be appreciated. EDIT: Could still use some help here. I've been trying to edit multiple parameters of the script for the past few hours and still haven't seen any change in results. Nothing seems to work. If I leave this in the script call: SceneManager.scene.add_bonus_stats(n) I get an error about the 'n'. If I change it to a number instead, the game runs properly, but a bonus still isn't displayed. If adjustments needed to be made to the script itself, it would be great if they included that in the instructions. As it stands though, it simply tells me to include this as a script call: SceneManager.call(Scene_ActorCreate) which works, but if I want to add bonus stats, I'm supposed to add this as a script call as well: SceneManager.scene.add_bonus_stats(n) but it does nothing. I'm completely stumped here. To make matters worse, I still don't know how to input a name even after just creating a character without bonus points. There's supposed to be an option for naming the character that pops up after creating them, but it doesn't. EDIT2: If you need a screenshot to see what I'm talking about, here: I've tried simply just creating the character and forgetting about the bonus, but even that's not working. I can create the character and it throws them into my party, but I am unable to name them. I would apply 'name processing' afterwards to try and remedy this, but considering I'm only able to pick pre-existing actors, I am unable to do this. EDIT3: Okay, so I've managed to create an incredibly roundabout way of doing this which involves simply editing a pre-existing party. It's going to take a bit more work, but at least it's something, lol.
  6. I'm making a skill called obliteration which kills both the attacked and the attacker when it is used, and while I know how to instantly kill the attacked, I need help with how to kill the attacker. Is there any way I can do that?
  7. I'll be blunt: I'm not a very patient person. Typically, I want things yesterday if I need them today, but RM VX Ace has taught me the value of hurrying up and waiting. I've tried other game creation software like Unity3D, which I found way too complicated for my taste, and since I've always wanted to make old school games in classic Dragon Quest/Final Fantasy style, RMVX Ace is probably the best tool for the task I have found yet. However, it's not a magic lamp I can rub for my wish and it will be granted. I've learned I have to check and recheck my event and script coding constantly, have to make sure every process works right, and if I get an error, I have to fix them. This program is not for those who go insane bugtesting and doing general quality assurance work, and for someone like me, I'll admit I sometimes find this program tedious. However, that's usually my innate impatience coming to the fore, and I've learned that suppressing those desires is the only way to get anything done, otherwise I'd still be looking at my very first Alpha build of the game I'm working on.

  9. I would like to allow people to create their character at the beginning, but I have one problem. I want the player to be able to change their default look ingame in the creation menu. I prefer to do this without scripts, since I'm try to make a series of good games that don't take as much creating (I obviously realize that need to work on it, I just want a simpler to develop game). So how do I go about this? I would also like to be able to exclude certain characters to be chosen, depending on the chosen gender option.

    I need a script that creates a .txt file in any folder I specify, and allows me to put whatever text I want in it. It needs to be called through a script call. My plan is to make a character who hints at locations, and breaks the fourth wall referencing a folder, like, say, graphics folder, and a txt file appears in there containing clues.
  11. Is there a way to implement a character creation process at the start of a new game? Also, is there a way to give classes/jobs their own sprite model? Example: Warriors look like the default Ryan sprite. Clerics look like the default Terence sprite. So if I change from a warrior to cleric I'd be changing sprites as well.

Script overview: A script that allows you to create your own magic spells/skills/etc. within game play. Functions: An area that allows you to change: The name. The Icon. The Description. The skill type. Choose if it will use MP or TP. The Scope. Occasion. Repeats. TP gain. The casting message. (i.e. "cast *!", "does *!", "uses *!" etc.) Type of damage. (i.e. HP Recovery, HP Damage, etc.) Element. Add States. Add Buffs and De-buffs. For the formula, I was thinking of using a slide bar to chose the number. Also choosing between the basic parameters, like ATK or MAT. Possibly, adding an Auto-formula within the script to determine the correct MP/TP cost, and the speed of the attack and Success%. Also, an Automatic Note adder. (For example: <Blitz Command>) An Automatic Fee you have to pay to make the Spell/Skill/etc. I will accept any and all help for this script, even just ideas, and all who contribute to this script will be given credit.   13. Hello. I'm new to RPG Maker VX Ace, and I need a script for my game. As I am making my game, I want to add a part where the players can customize his/her character before starting the game. And these are the points I'm looking for: - Ability to put his/her name down - Choose Gender - Choose Race (excluding the elves and whatever the other one is called) - Ability to choose the outfit to wear - Ability to choose the preferred hairstyle - Ability to (if possible) choose the age (child, teen, adult) If you have any solution to it, or a script containing the things listed it will be a great help. The options are basic, but those are not the emphasis of this tutorial. The emphasis is on how you select the graphic for your character. This is a beginner to intermediate level tutorial. You'll need to understand loops, conditional branches, variables, and switches. You should also learn basic system design concepts like index. There's 4 examples. The one where you start is a very nice scrolling menu that goes up/down with the characters. The first one at the top is very basic and simple, but doesn't show the next character in the list til you hit left/right. The other are variations of the starting map, which show how to do horizontal scrolling and use fewer characters than the map size. The way it works is you are asked what gender you are, what your name is, and then what you look like. Inputting extra options such as race & class should be easy if you look at the system. It's mainly to show off how to make a pleasing character design system using events. Give it a try!
  17. I apologize if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it via the search function. I'm creating a game and would like users to be able to essentially make their own main character like using the Character Generator that comes with the program. I've tried a couple different scripts (KaiMonkey's and Neon Black's) but couldn't figure out how to add parts to the code that was already there. I like the look of Neon Black's script, but it was just too confusing for me and I ended up (unintentionally) breaking the code by trying to add stuff to it. Ideally, this is what I would like for the user to be able to change: Name Gender Hair style (front and back) Hair colour Eye style Eye colour Accessories (earrings, eye-patch, etc) Clothing style Clothing colour Facial Hair (males only) I'm perfectly happy with the options as far as colour and clothing in the generator, so nothing custom would have to be made for this... I realize that this is kind of a tall order, and if someone were able to just modify Neon Black's code for me that would be fabulous.
