  1. Screenshot Critique Thread Welcome to the Official Screenshot Thread. Here you can post any screenshots related to maps, battles, title pages, anything in-game related you believe needs advice. Also, to ensure that you'll get the correct feedback include information regarding what the screenshot is about. Rules: You must leave critique on ANY previous screenshot. It DOES NOT have to be the last one you see. If you have already left feedback on a previous post, but then post your own image to critique. You are STILL required to give feedback to a DIFFERENT screenshot. (I cannot stress this enough ~kayden997) This is simply due to respect for other developers. It's not exactly hard to leave some advice on a previous post. It is common courtesy. We are all here to help each other, as is the point of this thread. Basically, to avoid any problems. just leave Critique on a screenshot in the SAME post as your thread. If you want to leave additional Feedback, without screenshots that is brilliant, however you are STILL required to post more if you post a different screenshot. No random Chit-Chat. A Screenshot isn't required but discussions between two members should be done via PM Spoiler Large Images. Wait 30 posts until you repost the same Screenshot. Do not double post. If no one has replied edit your current post and replace the screenshot All other Global Rules Apply If you have any other questions then feel free to PM @Jonnie91 or @kayden997 So I guess I'll go first: This is a screenshot from mine and Shaddows second game Lullaby. This is a Decision system. The mapping is only a placeholder. It will NOT look like that....Any feedback? Edit 7/2/13: If you have a series of screenshots you would like critiqued at once (3 or more screenshots), you may create your own topic in this forum and post them there instead of posting them to this thread. If you have less than 3 screenshots ready to be critiqued, then you would continue to use this thread.

Looking for Art Critique - WIP

Hello everyone. I'm creating some more modernized/ Sci-Fi icons and hopefully going to move on to even larger pixel arts soon. Basically, I'm looking for feedback, and critique, as the title says. Currently, I only have a few icons for Ammo, and a couple of modernized grenades. Basically, every attack in my game that uses a gun, or skill that uses and item, will require ammo from the inventory. So. here we go. Mostly, my doubts involve lighting and shading... THESE ARE WORKS IN PROGRESS. PLEASE DO NOT USE, EDIT, OR SHARE outside of this thread. I Will be posting again when I am satisfied that they are ready to use. A bokuto, or wooden katana. Alien Mind Control (Take me to your refrigerator!!!) Energy Ammo Pack - the bottom is supposed to be a concave cube, whereas the top part is supposed to be cylindrical; silvered metal, with gold bands, and showing glowing red energy inside and at the connector tips up top.... but i'm not sure it doesn't just look flat. M84 - Flash bang. This one had so many sharp angles that i'm not sure you can even tell what it is, or if you can even make out the Pin... M67 Frag Grenade. The entire thing is OD green... so shading it to represent a light source is kind of difficult. A metal Bolt or Slug for a Rail Gun. Silvered metal with angled flanges coming off of the cylindrical core. M18 Smoke Grenade Pretty simple, but still kind of hard to draw the spoon on the side at the correct angles and to show the pull pin and the primer on top Handgun Ammo. Rifle Ammo Machine Gun Belt Shotgun shells in a woven fabric shell carrier That's all so far, and I will add more as i work through it, and need more icons to suit my game. Thoughts? (Once again, these are works in progress. PLEASE do not use for yourself just yet. I will release a new thread when I'm ready to share.)
  3. There are arguments and counterarguments. "Don't post it to the internet if you don't want critique." "But if someone doesn't want it, you're being an ass by giving it ANYWAY." "Just because you don't want it doesn't disallow me from giving it anyway." "But that doesn't mean you SHOULD." "They won't get any better." "And you won't be respected as much." "Why share it then?" "It's okay to not want critique. Maybe they're just showing it off!" Both very real sides of the coin. Where do you stand and why? Me, I'm on the fence. I've been at the receiving end of both arguments. I'm curious to see what fellow content creators think of this. (And please, let's keep discussion civil and clean! We don't need to give the mods more heart attacks!) (Cross posted)
  4. Hey folks! I thought I'd just ask around and see what the worse/funniest/most stupendous critique you guys have ever gotten. I'll post one of mine for the motive of enjoyment. Have you ever read those stories where the main character's name is spelt differently in the middle of the book, and you don't notice? Well, on a Wattpad project of mine, I had actually received an email from somebody stating that I had misspelled a name, and then turned around and mentioned this: "If you were drunk or high when writing this, I suggest you take down the subject at hand. It offends me that you would go to such length to actually try and be ignorant and post this material and misplace something like that." Fun fact: The name in question was Will and I had somehow put Wily instead in one place. Ah, gotta love the best critics, right?
  5. So I have been working on an idea for a fantasy game where you play through relatively short scenarios to unlock more and more character options. Basically the loop is: start a character. go through a 3-5 part scenario (still thinking on that) complete side quests and certain objectives throughout campaign ends get new character options repeat The idea is that this can be played in a relatively short time and you just keep making new characters than can interact in different ways and/or facilitate finding even more classes. To make it a bit more expansive I would add an additional scenarios for advanced and epic classes (for a total of 9-15 parts at most). This would also allow me to form a bit more of a grand story. This is still a VERY early idea but I am trying to think about things in terms of what rpg maker, VXAce or MV, can do, as well as what I can do. For the most part it seems fairly plausible. But I am curious on what others think of this as a general idea.
  6. My project is currently at a stand still, but my brain continues to work on parts of the game that I haven't gotten to yet. As such, I thought it a good idea to seek opinions from other users of the program, as well as those who may end up playing the finished product, while I'm waiting for my brain to work on the part of the game that I'm currently trying to work on. First off, the name of the game is 'Chronicles of Camyre'. I'm thinking of adding the subtitle 'Palace of Distortion', but that depends on how important the final role of said 'palace' actually is. So for right now, just 'Chronicles of Camyre'. Next up, the main characters of the game. So far they are Arik, Una, Asido, Nodoo, Breena, Camyre, and Kira. Note that not all of these characters are protagonists. In fact, Nodoo and Kira are very close to the main antagonist spot. The true antagonist however, is a shapeshifter that doesn't really have a name. It's questionable whether it's a main character or not, but I'll include it. i'll go into each of the characters more in depth below. Arik was born in a world parallel to the one where the game actually takes place. During the opening scene of the game, he is seen in his world talking to someone who looks exactly like him. During the conversation, another person appears out of nowhere, and after a brief monologue opens a portal and thrusts Arik's twin through it. The twin grabs for something to prevent being taken through the portal, but what he grabs turns out to be Arik's arm, and so they end up making the unexpected journey together. Arik wakes up in a strange house, made even stranger by the fact that he doesn't remember what happened. When he is greeted by a strange young girl and a grumpy old man, he realizes that things are not how they should be. The old man wastes no time in booting Arik out of the house. Una is the granddaughter of the mayor of a town called Esidil. Their house is where Arik wakes up after his journey through the portal, and in fact Una is who took Arik in, without her grandfather's permission I might add. Shortly after Arik is kicked out, Una joins him on his travels to look after him, as up until then, and for some time after he proves to be quite brash. Asido is a young and surprisingly skilled shaman from the village of the High Elves. He is the only High Elf to be on good terms with the Dwarves, and in fact he serves as healer for both tribes. The job is quite taxing, though after Arik and Una come to be on good terms with the Dwarves, Asido takes some time to pass on to a handful each of High Elves and Dwarves his skills as a healer before parting with his brethren to combat the forces that drove the Dwarves and the High Elves apart in the first place. Asido is the primary healer in the game, and has a higher pharmacology rate than other characters as well due to his background. Nodoo is a character who is shrouded in mystery. in fact for most of the game, the people of the world don't realize they he is the one doing the things that are making everyone suffer. Nodoo was involved from the very beginning, even so much as to say that he is the one who plunged Arik and his twin into the world that the game takes place in. All this and yet he isn't aware of any of it. Well in a way he is, since as he is his will is that of a shifter who stole his body. He, the person who he originally was, felt his freedom restricted in a way few usually consider or even care about. He wanted to experience the lives of other races in a way that only someone of that race could. When he was promised that chance, he couldn't imagine the cost of accepting. Now his will, the shifter's will, is that of a purely malevolent being with no qualms of doing anything he wishes. Breena is a Dracomorph, a rare being that is the result of a love between a dragon and a human. Though they are rare, that wasn't always the case, in fact there was once a prosperous city entirely inhabited by the hybrids. Now, as far as Breena is concerned, she is the only one left. When she was young, she was attacked and nearly killed by an adult male dragon who had a thing for despising hybrids like her. However, in her dire situation, something happened, something that isn't supposed to happen until a spell placed on them at birth as released by another who sees fit to do so. Breena's desperate desire to survive breaks the spell 50 years before a Dracomorph is typically deemed ready, and in fact she is not ready. With the spell broken, Breena's dragon blood begins to course through her body, mingling with her human blood. However, lacking the ability to control her dragon blood, the spell is like a dam in the ferocity of the repercussions of it breaking. The flood of power instantly causes a transformation in Breena, one that makes her look like her father, though her mentality is more like a wyrm than a dragon. In a thrashing rage, the transformed Breena brings down her attacker in a swift, terrifying assault. However, she keeps going until she tires, after which she reverts and falls asleep. That happens 20 years before the events of the game. About a third of the way through the game, Breena joins the party to try to find meaning in her otherwise empty life. She grows fond of Arik's trademark brashness, but not long after, she forces herself to make the toughest decision of her life up to that point. To once again go solo. This decision comes as a result of what happens when Breena loses control of her dragon blood again. Arik tries to stop her rampage, and gets too close at the worst possible time. The sight of the young human's blood is the trigger of her reversion, and after helping to see to his wounds, Breena makes the decision to leave after everyone is asleep that night, following some reassuring, but empty-sounding words from Una. 'Nobody blames you for what happened.' After she leaves, she is not seen again until the post-ending story. She is found in a desperate struggle for control of her dragon blood. She loses the fight, and her dragon blood flows stronger than ever. After a fierce struggle with Breena's transformed state, her physical weakness allow her to revert, though without saying anything she continues on her way. Just before she is out of earshot, she turns back and shouts a promise to conquer her problem and come back after. Camyre is an utterly mysterious individual. All anyone knows about him is that he is the author of every historical text currently in existence. As such, many have stuck to calling him the 'God of Knowledge', and his many works the 'Chronicles of Camyre'. The truth? As he rarely shows himself, no one knows that he is a Dracomorph. However, where those like Breena mentioned above have no control over their dragon blood are referred to Dragonlings, Camyre, who has his dragon blood in complete control, refers to himself and others like him as Dragon Knights. He is only met in the post ending story, first by Breena at the end of her journey to find someone who can help her rein in her out of control blood, and later by the rest of the party after sending Breena back to them with a written invitation to meet him. Kira is Arik's twin that appears in the opening scene where he drags Arik into the game world with him. They are separated, and Kira goes on to work for Nodoo, unaware that Nodoo is the one who sent him to the game world in the first place. He becomes deeply mixed up in the 'bad guy' side of things, but after he finds out the truth, he tries to go help the player party before Nodoo stops him. As Nodoo is about to be vanquished, he starts acting very differently, though the player characters don't notice it. For the post ending story, Kira is taken over by Nodoo's former host, it having switched bodies just in time to avoid being slain. Kira's own personality is more mischievous than truly evil. He doesn't want to hurt anyone, so he really starts to get on Nodoo's bad side when he starts refusing to follow orders that involve killing. The Shapeshifter is just what it sounds like, though at the same time it's considerably more too. As is said by its only name, it is able to assume different forms. However, how it expands this ability is different from what people usually think. It feeds by assimilating whole beings into itself, which has the additional effect of absorbing the food's memories and gaining the ability to assume their form. The Shapeshifter is without a doubt, a monster of the worst kind. It appears to be instinct-driven in nature, but if that's the case, then its instinct is to destroy, and nothing good can come of that. When the Shapeshifter finds Nodoo, he is assimilated in the process of the Shapeshifter 'granting his wish'. However, when he is about to be slain while taking the form of Nodoo, he ejects the assimilated Nodoo under cover of the attack, leaving the real, innocent Nodoo to take the lethal punishment while the Shapeshifter assimilates Kira instead. Then, when the Shapeshifter is about to be killed again, this time in Kira's form, he once again ejects the subject of his current form, and then takes hold of Arik, trying to assimilate him instead. This drastic turn sets up the game's final boss, which starts as a one-on-one between the Shapeshifter and Arik, until Camyre infiltrates Arik's mind and lets Una, Asido, and Breena in to help. I haven't gotten very far in actually making the game, but I've done a lot of thinking regarding things I haven't gotten to the point of making yet. Also, I originally had other things I wanted to mention, but I spent more time on the characters than I thought I would so I'll leave it at that for now.
  7. NOTE - this is not an article for how to build your story or build characters or world. I will write about that in the future though. - everything written here is subjective and the opinion of the author as it usually is with these kind of guides. There is no right way. Salutation to you all, Again, I freed myself from the shackles of my troubled mind, One sole purpose driven by that is to sheed some light, On to a topic that by definition knows no reason And yet, without logic it could not ignite, Initially by our feelings we were driven yet, Age took its toll and here we are, Searching for something more, Meaning, reason, purpose, Some say they found It and we follishly believe so, We take their words for holy writ, Attempting to follow in their footsteps, Liars, thieves and murderers I call them For they found nothing, yet they shout They stole our time, one of few true possesions we have, But most brutal of all, they killed our spirit, The one sole thing we are fully in control of, It was independent, carried with the winds on an autumn wind, crashing on the shores of Reason, Driven by our thoughts, Alright now I wrote that piece up there as an exercise for you to criticize. Its just a stupid ramble that I tried and feedback is welcomed. Now I'm gonna assume that most of you reading this are under 20, shy (not looking just at the girls) or some of those anime freak fans (seriously since 2010 you people give me the chills, but no more digressing) and are to shy to show your writing to someone. Now I'm asking you: 1) How the heck do you expect any improvement if you don't have feedback? 2) Why do you even give a f**k if what they're saying is truly said by the egotistical? Ok moving forward. If you wanna improve as a writer for plays, games, poetry and so on, first and foremost just ignore the really bad opinions (not if the opinion is not given with malicious intent). Don't give a shit. Second, watch bad movies and good movies in succession and watch out for character behavior, lines, environment, mood anything that raises an eyebrow. An important thing to not do here is read reviews on IMDB or even ratings (they tend to affect judgement). Remember you are not training to become a critic but improve your own work, so be as subjective in your thinking as you want, don't be objective (its your writing, your rules). Compare that to what you have and improve. Third, never throw away your drafts, You wanna say months later "What the f**k was I thinking" Try and show some drafts that you wrote to people outside this forum. By this I mean get the hell out of the house and get some stranger opinions. If you are a woman though be cautious as some men take this as flirt. As for the dudes, who knows you might score (not kidding) Never be a hungry artist! I cannot stress this enough. If you wanna do this as a passion you should be internally motivated and write for you and people close to you. Don't put shit on an already over saturated market where it's becoming more and more difficult to look for books that stand out. If you wanna do it by all means but don't get your hopes up. There a fine line between decent and hot dayum! Never give a twat! Last but not the least. What the hell do I know? I am a programmer and system admin. I do this in my own time and I had mixed feelings about what I wrote. I can't help you avoid blows but I hope you got some pointers! I hope this helps you and I am gonna risk by saying this but you may send me some drafts if you want a real honest opinion. I'll reply as much as I can,

tiles Thoughts On My Version Of RTP

So I noticed the other day that most of my asset creations (tilesets) don't quite fit with the standard RTP (as seen in the following image) ...and it was also pointed out to me that my style is more of a pixel art style, and the RTP seems to be digitally painted, which explains why they clash with one another. So to counter this, I have decided to maybe re-do most of the standard B and/or C Tiles in my style and would like your thoughts on the subject. Below is an example: ...do the pix-elated versions work better? Thanks for your input.

    Modifying the maps!?

Hi there! I started to experiment with Parallax Mapping and i do this for the first time, so i really would appreciate your thoughts/opinions/feedback about it. Thank you for reading! Original designed in Ace: Version A: Version B:

    Taller Sprites

So I've been messing around with Sprite Sheets in recent days to try and make taller sprites - the standard ones feel really squashed. I finally manages to put together two outfits for my main character. I'm aware the first sprite doesn't have shoes. I've been using Game Character Hub, and geez, is it hard to get "brown" as a color to use. I was struggling with just getting the skin tones right. I intend to add boots in Photoshop when I go and make the 8-character sheet later on. I was hoping for some solid feedback before I go making the rest of the sprites - It'd be easier to fix mistakes on two sprite sheets than the several full ones I need for my game. Please and thank you! EDIT: New sprites, based off the Loose Leaf Generator sprites. I... am not very good at free handing it, it seems. They are the same as above.
  12. To start off, this story is influenced a lot by Shin Megami Tensei games and sort of adopts its style of story telling. I want to try to keep the story simple, but with some twists and turns. (EDIT: I made a couple of edits, lol) The Astral Plane is the place between reality and the afterlife, accessed by meditating and willing your spiritual body to separate from your physical body. In this modern day, pills have been designed that induce this meditative state, as the process of actual meditation is tough to master and can induce sleep paralysis, cursing the person with scary visions. In this separate plane of existence, many beings live. People who have claimed to see ghosts simply share a stronger connection to the Astral Plane and can access parts of it without leaving their physical body. On the Astral Plane, one can commune with demons, angels, and God himself. If one ventures too far and too deep into the Astral Plane, they can discover links to heaven, hell and purgatory. The main character has been experiencing sleep paralysis and strange dreams for the past 2 years. The beginning of the game begins with him awaking from one of these dreams. In the dream, being led by a god-like voice, he created three spirit-like vessels that would be under his command; these entities refer to him as their master. He then awakes and after experiencing a horrific sleep paralysis episode, he rises. He recieves a text message from one of his friends, Ivan Kadaffi, asking why the protagonist has not been to a university class in two days. Not long after he hears a knock at the door, introducing his child-hood friend Maya Sader. Maya expresses her excitement about a book she has finally received in the mail, an occult book titled “En Magusâ€, and how she wants to read it with the main character. Later that day, the main character arrives at Maya’s house and the two read the book. One chapter catches Maya’s eye, a chapter about Astral Projection, along with an ingredient list for the meditative pills. She rummages through the packaging the book came in and finds a tin full of pills. She wants to go to the store to buy all the ingredients. After those errands have been taken care of by the two of them, they go to the university where they find Ivan in one of the labs. They ask Ivan to make the pills and he does. After returning to Maya's home, they both try the pills. They are hit with a strange sensation, when their eyes open again they are surprised to see their own bodies lying in the bed. They have separated from their physical forms… They explore the neighbourhood, and go into houses to see what people are doing. Maya reminds the protagonist of the many rules that were written in the book and that they cannot touch humans of the physical world. Shortly after, they encounter demons in the street, who take an interest in Maya. As the demons drag her away, and attempt to kill the protagonist, it triggers a memory of the dream he had and the vessels he created in that dream. Each one calls out to him, and the screen flashes back to reality, where his vessels have appeared. With the aid of his vessels he dispatches the demons. At this point the player can allow one of the vessels to absorb the soul of the demons he just defeated. (This soul changing ability is a mechanic in the game). You then begin to search for Maya. This part takes up a good amount of time in the game. Through your travels, you eventually are led to Ivan’s house, inside you see Ivan at his computer. Also in that room are the demons holding Maya captive. The demons come together to form Lucifer. The player is easily defeated by Lucifer who offers him a deal: if the player touches Ivan, he will let Maya free. If he refuses, he will kill both of them. Here, it is revealed that the protagonist is a descendant of Lucifer (up until then, beings in the Astral Plane had assumed he was a descendant of Christ do to the fact that he was able to summon those vessels to serve him). In actuality, his friend, Ivan Kaddafi is the descendant of Christ. This shakes the protagonist's faith. Now getting back to him touching Ivan... When a person on the Astral Plane touches a person on the Physical Plane, it creates an opening for demonic energy to seep through, and opens both people for possession. This is why it is forbidden to touch physical humans when you are on the Astral Plane. If the protagonist touchs Ivan, it will allow Lucifer to possess him, and through him take control of Christ. The captive Maya begs the protagonist not to touch Ivan, but he does it anyway to save her. Lucifer sends his energy through Ivan, causing a huge rupture in the Physical Plane. He reveals that he will combine the Astral Plane with the physical plane, because it will “get the creator’s attentionâ€. Ivan will lead a new "holy" crusade, posing as the lord Christ, and ushering in a New World Order in the Physical Plane. He thanks the protagonist for his actions, as he has unwantedly helped Lucifer in the final stages of his plan. Below is a quote from this part of the game: "As my descendant, my heir, it was your destiny to usher my being into the physical world... and even coupled with your boundless disloyalty, you have served your purpose well! Although you have aided me here, you have caused me disorder in other ways, and for that I am hesitant to forgive you. Your mistress shall stay with me, and a deep scar shall stay with you. Let it teach you to never forget your place again, child." <He burns a scar onto the protagonists face> "Prove yourself to me and your sin will be forgotten. Thank you, and goodbye, <Protagonist Name>" Lucifer then knocks the player out and leaves with Maya. The player awakens then begins his journey to save Maya and stop Lucifer from fusing the Physical Plane with the Astral Plane. However, there are now two major events that the protagonist is now involved in. The Astral Plane has Maya, but the Physical Plane has Ivan and his "holy" crusade. In the Physical Plane, the countries around the world will now be focused on and amazed by Ivan Kadaffi, the man who seems to be the second coming of Christ (but is actually a pawn of Lucifer). He will perform miracles like walking on water, healing the sick, and curing cancer. These qualities of a savior will line up with the real Ivan's ideals, as Ivan has always wanted to be a doctor and truly help people. However, that is only the first act of the story. It will delve deep into different subjects and make the player question what they believe in. Thanks to anyone who reads this, I'm just getting back into VXACE after about a year off from it. Hopefully i can actually get a game made this time through

    custom drawn battlers

So recently we've started creating battlers for my game. Well actually, Lisa Windels created all the battlers, all credit goes to her. What do you guys think? This is the first time she draws anything like this, and she got nearly no game experience. As the rules are stated: nobody may use these battlers, except if Lisa Windels gives permission for this.

    Critique on my latest sprite?

I finished another sprite; A LoZ-esque knight enemy I did just for practice. I'm working my spriting skills for a large project I'm planning, so if you guys would be so kind to critique my work so I know where I am, that would be awesome! Here it is:
  17. Hi again, guys! Hope I'm posting this in the right place, lol. This time I've brought something I can actually show you, and hopefully get some feedback on! So I've been trying my hand at a bit of parallax mapping. It seemed that its an easier way to add a lot more clutter and detail to your maps, so I thought I would test it out- and I absolutely love it so far! Although I did try to create an exterior parallax map, I don't think it's my strong suit by the looks of it. Interior, however, ended up being really fun to make! So I was hoping to get some critique on my first parallaxes. I did watch a tutorial video to know a few of the basics (Parallax mapping tutorial for beginners), but I have to know If I can actually go somewhere with this. Bear with me as there are probably some mistakes or general errors here and there, but I tried my best~ I am also using gimp, so usually when I try to rotate or change the size of something it ends up a bit blurry. By using the sharpen tool I was able to fix that a bit, but I still wish I could use photoshop, haha. Regardless, here is my attempt at a bedroom parallax. This is also my first time posting a picture, so I hope I do this correctly x> The idea in my head was a sort of room belonging to a writer, so there is a reason behind all those scattered papers and books. I also added a few stains and furniture imprints to add detail, but I don't know if you can see them that well. > v < and also- here is what the map looks like in-game with khas light effects (credit to khas for his scipt) And I can't forget the credits to the amazing people who created the tilesets I used for this! -Celianna, for her amazing tilesets~ -Ayene for the flower pot and picture frame<3 -Cait/Caitlin for her gothic furniture- I thought I went really well with the carpet~ u v u)<3 -Enterbrain/tsukuru for the boxes and air conditioner of course! :> -If I missed anything, just let me know and I'll add it in right away!- Any and all feedback is appreciated, of course!<3

    Skill Ideas

Heyo, I was too impatient to finish the Skill Icons and then post this - that stuff actually requires work. So here's something I would like to throw out for critique - this isn't really a concept topic - since I have these skills written down and adjusted every now and then. So here goes nothing. The Foundation My Project creates Damage in a more unique way, but then again we all strive for this. So before posting up the Skills I have, I would to show how those skills actually work: Damage Formula Hopefully I did not scare you off by using math and that you're continually reading this trivial post. Now to the actual topic: Actor 1's (Let's call her Red) Skills Actor 2's (Let's call her White) Skills Actor 3's (Let's call her Purple) Skills Actor 4's (Let's call him Pink) Skills Additional Characters (Fusions, Summons, Transformations) Actor 34's (White's + Purple's Fusion) Skills Because Actor 34 is a unique character that can only be accessed within battle, she is not upgrade-able. She follows the traditional way of learning skills via level, her level being determined by the average of White and Purple's level. Main Skills Passives Actor 5's (Rose) Skills Rose is a summon that is only accessible during battle, meaning she is not upgrade-able. Unlike every other character, she already knows all her skills and her level is equal to Pink's level. Main Skills Passives

    Attempt at Making 'Cave' People

Here is a screenshot of a representative of three 'cave' people tribes. Trying to edit character sets on my own. Appreciate honest critiquing. In game play, more details of the 'tatooing' can be seen a little better.
  20. I have finished the first sprite of my game! If you would, critique it so to improve. My Protagonist; Bayheart. I'll need constructive criticism to grow my skills, so don't hold back. -EDIT- I have finished another. Since this threads still open, I thought i'd post it here rather then start another. Again, if you would, I would be thankful to receive any and all forms of constructive criticism. This may or may not make it into my game - or I'll use it as my character in Ace Academy. .

    Modern Maps for Critique

I've spent the last few days working on my first maps. Took me a bit of time to get used to the quirks of the program, but I think I'm getting the basics down and would like critique on what I've got so far. 1. This is the outside of the first area, which I modeled vaguely after the Archaeological and Historical Services in Connecticut. 2. The first room inside, the receptionist area: 3. The north room, your office. What do you guys think so far? Included the credits at the bottom, and everything else are my own edits of the listed resources. Credit:
  23. I started some preliminary design work today on the title logo of my first game, "House of Virtue." I think I have the basic idea of what I want, at least when it comes to the general shape. 1. 2. 3. 4. The "of" seems to be giving me the most trouble; I'm not certain which iterationI like best, although I'm leaning towards #1. I haven't settled on a color pallet for the title screen yet, so I was just trying out a few combinations at the moment to give me an idea, but I'd be happy to hear thoughts on that as well. Just for some basic background, in case it is helpful: "House of Virtue" is going to be a gothic survival/puzzle horror game, with some heavy Puritan overtones. (Think Nathaniel Hawthorne.)

    Animated Battler- Ralph (and Friends)

So, here's Ralph with a four frame Idle pose. With two different sized gifs to show the animation. (Yes, totally aware the colors got messed up) I'm trying to do some major animating practice. Who knows, I might come up with some animated stuff for people to use. Gifs in spoiler EDIT: Some stills of Actor 1, 2 and 3. Opinions, comments, want to see more of this?

    critique Map Name Logo Critique?

So I decided to make a Map name logo for an Island in my game. I just thought I'd upload it for people to share their thoughts and opinions. I'll accept any form of constructive criticism! I think i did a pretty good job and I hope you all like it!
