Ruby Arena is a text based roguelike game. Your main objective is to get bigger and stronger, equip yourself and prove yourself by competing in the arena. Climb the ranks of the Arena! Prove yourself worthy of the Ruby once and for all. The Beta version is now available, which means all core systems are completed. More content, formatting and stuff is now being added to the game. It is Now in a playable state with all the core stuff. At this stage of development updates are coming out very often. Currently I'm working on adding more Arena bosses and a few new areas to level up in. I'm always open to suggestions that anyone might have. There is still lots of ongoing balancing but things are pretty good now. The intention of this game of course is that it's supposed to be hard. There is still late and mid-late game balancing to work on. Note: for an ideal gaming experience, when the game opens, click on the top left corner of the console window to open a menu, and go to Properties. Click on the Font tab, set the font size larger (your preference) and text to bold. then maximize the window. The game will take care of these steps eventually. Screenshots of the game have been attached to the post for your convenience. You can download the game for free here: Ruby Arena (itch.io) The latest version is always uploaded there, and also on github here: Ruby Arena (github) Currently known bugs: Crash on battle complete -- this bug happens very rarely and is sometimes triggered if an enemy drops an item. This should not happen often. I have not been able to solve this bug yet. You will be naturally saving all the time due to the games inherent difficulty so this bug should not bother you too much. If you encounter any other bugs, you can either post them here on the forum or you can report them as an issue on Github. Including your debug.log and all your save files will be very helpful in diagnosing any bugs you might find. Of course, I'm always open to ideas for things to add to this game. As of posting this topic, Beta 1.7 is currently out. The game is getting pretty regular updates. The full changelog is visible on the github readme. Its also available on itch but it is chopped into different posts for each version. Looking forward to hear what you guys think of my game. Thanks for your time.

Galaxy Hearts [Demo] - Sci Fi Dungeon Crawler / Space Combat
Paladox posted a topic in Games in Progress
Screenshot 1 Screenshot 2 Screenshot 3 Download here: https://ufile.io/dy4a626s Galaxy Hearts is primarily a heavy handed Sci-Fi dungeon crawl / space exploration game. Instead of finding keys to proceed, you'll need to find gear and your 2 allies. Space combat in particular will be a nightmare without your buddies. The demo is roughly 15% to 30% of the whole game. You will find your full team of 3 characters AND be fully equipped by the end of it! There is very little story, but each station kinda tells its own story through the environment and the enemies you face. There are probably some balance issues. If you find anything particularly annoying, boring, or just way too difficult then let me know. Be aware though that this IS a dungeon crawler, so encounters are very often and can be rather annoying. Stealth kits are your friend, especially early on! I've played through the demo twice, and there shouldn't be any bugs but if you find any then please let me know. I hope you'll enjoy playing the game at least as much as I enjoyed making it. :) Full Game Plans: 5 Space Sectors (not including the home sector), 12+ Enemy Stations I plan on selling the full game on Steam for about $10, but anyone who's ever given at least $1 on my Patreon will get the game for free! https://www.patreon.com/paladox (I do make an adult game called The Fairy, The Succubus, and The Abyss which is primarily what my Patreon focuses on, but Galaxy Hearts is not, and will not have, any adult content. I'm intending on a PG rating, or at least as family friendly as possible) Credits: RPG Maker MV default resources (various) RPG MAKER Cyberpunk Music Pack RPG MAKER Sci-Fi Music Pack RPG MAKER Sci Fi Battlebacks Pixelart Spaceships For Shmup (Src: Humble Bundle 8-bit Game Dev Bundle - Author Unknown) Various Space Decor modified from resource sets by unTied Games (Src: Humble Bundle 8-bit Game Dev Bundle) Cutscene Artwork by Bec Santus Other: Various images modified by me. I can't remember where I got them all. >.< If I used your stuff and didn't properly credit your work then please let me know! Thanks! -
GAME HAS NO TITLE YET. - Little story & Description - This game will be about Yuki, a young woman who has almost finished her degree in music. During the week break, she decided to go on ''the Trip of her life'' with her friends to Ste-Adele, a very big, modern city. Unfortunatly, shortly after her arrival, she gets kidnapped by a vampire. The vampire brings Yuki and 3 of her friends back to her den. Another, more ancient vampire named Sebastian turns Yuki and release all her friends without harming them. This game will be a semi open world RPG (the first 1~2 hours are linear) in the modern era with a variety of main and optional quests (you will have a quest log). Most of the game will happen in the huge city of Ste-Adele. It will be filled with intense, touching and funny moments. Packed with moral dilemma where you will be the chooser. Most vampire show/games ive seen make becoming a vampire look like it's no big deal and in some case it seems like it's the best thing that could ever happen to you. This game will deeply explore how a real human would feel towards himself, his friends and family. I will do my best to make you feel the bloodlust struggle and how deeply disturbing it would for a fledgling. Don't worry, it won't be a whining fest ! - Feature - This is very early and it is very very subject to change. There's likely more ''special feature'' than will be displayed. - Yuki and other vamps have 2 or more action per turn in fights which allow more depths and strategy. - Sneaking - Quest log - Recipe (soon) - Several out-of-battle vampic powers. The power of compelling humans and seduction are the only ones that are 100% confirmed to be there. There will be more for sure. - Other notes - - Couple screenshots - - Demo Info (read before downloading) - - Demo Download - - VLOG - A quick view of a part of Ste-Adele. - Critique - If you have any suggestions or comments, please feel free to post them. If you have anything to say regarding enemy/item/spell balance, please do comment. If the story is unclear or you feel like there's too much talking or not enough, you can also comment on that. if you find any bugs tiny or big, please report them. The sewers are supposed to be a dark labyrinth so sometime i purposely made long path(not that long) without much doodads or details to fit in with the dark maze feel. Do you feel that vibe or do you just feel like some places are empty ? My english isn't the best. It's not horrible either. Catching important english grammatical/syntax errors ? Please take 2 seconds to pm me them. - Credit - - CHANGELOGS -

Why is it that some games are more easily tolerated than others that are considered "hard?" For example, I love games like Ghosts n Goblins, Dark Souls, the older Ninja Gaiden games, and basically anything Shin Megami Tensei, but I can't stand games like Super Meat Boy, I Wanna Be The Guy, The Impossible Game, the newer Ninja Gaiden games, and Devil May Cry 3. The funny part is with each game I can cite reasons I like AND dislike them, but it seems like it's WHAT I dislike about certain games that causes me to just plain not like them. For example, Dark Souls is a game that kicks you ass for a living, but you feel a great sense of accomplishment anytime you learn how to fight a boss well and beat him. Meanwhile, I never got that sense of accomplishment from the newer Ninja Gaiden games. With Ghosts n Goblins games, the levels were often obscenely difficult, but a treat to trudge through...yet with games like I Wanna Be The Guy and Super Meat Boy, I feel like they're difficult just for the sake of being difficult, even though it feels like they're trying to accomplish the same thing. For a lot of people, it seems like they're willing to forgive or otherwise look issues that are glaring and ridiculous to other people. I realize it comes down to preference, but one would think that if a game is deemed difficult, challenging, or tough that it would all come down to doing the same thing over and over until you get it right and enjoy the fact that you finally accomplished something ridiculously difficult...yet, I don't get that for some reason. I don't know, what do you guys think?

And here I lay, doomed to rot. An eternity in confinement... The crime? Existing. 'It Pours' is an Action RPG inspired by Dark Souls. I yearned to make a game as engaging and challenging as the aforementioned game, so here's my attempt. This is a one-man project that'll hopefully take only weeks to create. The game puts you in the 'shoes' of an unnamed creature sentenced to eternity in prison for reasons unknown. As you progress through the story, you eventually learn of a race hunted to near-extinction, a religious cult, and a tale of tragedy. - Challenging gameplay - 19 classes to choose from, each with their own special skills and unique abilities. - Action battle system - Dozens of skills to mix and match in battle. Characters: - An unknown creature called an Unghast. It is a mystery as to why he fights, and why he wishes to destroy. Only time will tell.
