  1. Hello everyone! Today I come to you in the seek for a spriter and a programmer. Overall Concept The project I've been working on for over two years is a mix between three concepts: - From Digimon we have the characters, these already known creatures that are made of data and evolve into other digimon if the requirements are met. - Megaman Battle Network provides us with the concept of "net surfing", where our partner(s) will be able to travel around the net and various devices which are connected to it. - Final fantasy Tactics settled my love for tactic games, so I'm introducing it to this game. Starting in your home page, you'll have a set of mechanics to help you rise, train and evolve your digimons. A task board will be presented to you with quests to complete and progress in the story. With a team of 4 digimon you will be surfing the net fulfilling requests, helping others and battling several threats. But don't get me wrong, you are not inside the net, you're seating in your chair in front of your PC, you are you. Your digimons and various other characters will break the 4th wall when talking to you, acknowledging that you are the one controlling them. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lore After eons of peace, Yggdrasil, the mother and god of the Digital World, decided to reset the server where it was located and start again. A time and date was settled for the reset, which will come with the erasing of all the digimon in existence. The Three Great Angels, protectors of the Digital World, saw this threat and transported 70% of the digimons to the net, saving them from the reset, the other 30% that couldn't be saved was infected with a program that transformed them in X- Digital Monsters. But it wasn't over, an evil wave that came from the dark ocean (a dangerous space where rejected digimon are being imprisoned) started lurking in the digital world and the net as well. In order to solve this problem, Ophanimon, one of the Three Great Angels, programmed a video game for humans to "play", a risky move to help the digimon evolve and battle this new enemy, that was infecting digimon and making them evil. Now the hope is in the hands of the humans, again. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Main scripts - Gubid's Tactical Battle System (some optimization and new mechanics needed) This is the core of the game, since it revolves around this battle system. There are several changes I want to implement to it, like the lack of animations for the skills and the basic attack. And I want to introduce a card system that will let players add some buffs, skills and weapons for their digimons. - Layy Meta (no change) With this script the maps are converted into an isometric view. - Yanfly's Class System (no change) The core script for evolution of the digimons. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Open positions - Spriter Overall, the digimon sprites are almost complete, I'm using the sprites from the game Digimon World DS, and it's sequels. But it's not complete, since I'm introducing more digimons than these games already have. The spriter taking this position must know that these are isometric overworld sprites, like this one. - RGSS3 Programer In order to accomplish what I stated in the section of Gubid's TBS, the programmer will be in charge of changing the animation script between the system. At this time when the attack is made, the actor jumps to the target and an animation is played. I want to make it more realistic by taking out that jump (or implementing it in some skills if necessary), and make it so the sprite only moves forward to the enemy. If it's a ranged skill, an animation or sprite will be replacing the movement. This is the most important change I want for the system. I also want to add a card system, like only battle items that will add buffs, skills, armors and weapons to the digimons in your party. This system will prompt a selection screen every turn, to choose from 5 random cards of the player's deck, will be used in the digimon that is taking the turn. Cards are usable once per battle, and will have a code to determine which cards can be used together, making it balanced and not overpowered. Gubid's TBS has been abandoned by its programmer and the web page is down. So there is no support for this battle system, and the programmer taking this position will have to learn how it works and how to implement such changes. I'm also willing to hear some ideas to make it simple and not waste time in something too difficult for it to be accomplished. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well... that's all for now. I hope someone will read this out and help me with this project. Thank you all for your time! Goodbye!

    Trading cards as skills!

I had an idea for a Digimon type of game. You use trading cards so the human can fight the evil digimon but... how can this be done? Enemies have a drop rate and when a card is collected, it is loaded into a mini deck, where they can be stored for later. Some cards create techniques, others create stat boosts and even summons. Not all cards stay though; some only have 1 use before vanishing (usually common and uncommons) EXAMPLES If the player uses 'Agumon; Pepper Breath' , they can use that technique. This card leaves since it is very common If the player uses 'Titamon; Soul Core Attack' , they use the technique. This card stays since its Super Rare. If the player has 'Ogremon; Hone Konbou' ,it gives them an attack boost. The card stays since its a stat booster Anyone think this is a good idea?
  3. CrowTheAlmighty

    Suggested battle system?

As some may tell already, I'm making a Digimon game. The game will have teams of 3 only, other digimon staying at home base. The Tamer (Human) is not involved in battle. What kind of battle systems should I try out with this? I've heard that first person battle system is good but are their others?
  4. CrowTheAlmighty

    Quiz decides party

So, I have a Digimon game idea but I want to do what Pokemon Mystery Dungeon did, where you perform a quiz and the end result picks the main digimon you start with. How can I create this quiz and what should be the recommended number of results?
  5. DIGIMON ACE You turn on your PC and for no reason, a Digimon appears in your screen. You can give it food, train it, make them learn an evolution, play games, etc. You can put your digimon on the net and make quests that people send to your e-mail. By killing other digimons in the net you can scan their data (as in digimon world ds) and make a digi-egg. Raise up to 50 diferent species. There`s thousands of evolutions for each digimon, and thousands of items to make this posible. ABS for the battles and items that gives you power (digimon cards, disks, cores, etc) The evolutions are lerned on the PC (the PC is like the farm), the way to learn them is the next: - By gaining experience on the battles of quest or in the RTS Game and leveling up - By evolution items (i.e. Biyomon evolves into Airdramon with the "Air Skull") - By DNA (i.e. Ex-Veemon DNA evolves into Paildramon with the data of Stingmon) In quests they can evolve to the next form, by using the digimon cards (i.e. Renamon is fighting, and the player uses the card S-Evolution, Renamon instantly evolves to Kyubimon) But what`s the new feature that no digimon game has ever had? RTS (Real Time Strategy) Sometimes the quest requires you to go to the digital world. For this, you will team up 5 of your digimons, and put them on the battle, where you have to defend your core spires, defend your self from the digimon enemies, and destroy the control spires of the enmies. When you destroy all five control spires, you win the game. If one of your digimon dies on the battle field, it will respawn on the starting point, as same as the enemies. But if all your core spires are destroyed, your team loose. In battle you can use your battle cards and any item you have in your inventory, except for the ones that make you evolve on battle, because of the enemies control spires. There are 3 roads where your spires and enemies spires are. Map.bmp There`s going to be more than one map, but the roads are the same allways. Saying RTS is a way to say it, but it is not a RTS as if. The "RTS" Battle will take place on the map, where 5 digimon on your side (one that you control) and 5 digimon on the other side (enemies) fight each other to destroy the enemies spires. There is no units, no minions... but in the battle, there would be a combination of digimon that make perfect balance like in any RTS game. There would be tanks, dps, carry, etc. And for a better explanation, the battle system is an ABS (Falcao Pearl ABS Liquid V2), you don`t use the mouse system to play on battle, the mouse system it`s to be used only on the breeding stage, aka "The PC". The items that the player will obtain int the game were be in the single-player mode, where the digimon has quest to make on the "net" (i.e. On the In-Box you recieve a e-mail that says: "A Gabumon got lost on the net and i cant`t find it, i saw him for the last time in B-56" then the player puts the digimon on the net, way to B-50 (because is the nearest entrance) just to make the quest. The digimon appears on the net, and the player controls it to fight other digimon that will be put on the way as enemies, till it gets to the objetive, the Gabumon. When the digimon accomplish the quest, gets back to the Pc, and the player recieves the reward (gold, evolution items, cards, etc) Online Features For Online, i mean "LAN" connection, maybe with Hamachi por other programs that create a fake "Lan" connection. The RTS game can be played online with up to 5 friends per team. In the online connection you can exchange either digimon and items. Wath do you guys think about this idea? Can it be done? Based on your questions, i`ll answer and put the new information on this post. I want to say that if the game goes ok and it has a promising progress, the Digimons will change to other type of monsters, but allways with the same basis, breeding, training, evolutions, dna evolutions, items and cards.
