  1. I'm using this plugin to give more stat customization to the player, but I'm having touble with the formulas. Specifically, the cost formula. This is the one I'm using: Math.ceil(actor.atk / 10) + 1 So, if I understand correctly... This should make that for every 10 attack points the actor has, the cost goes up 1 point. Since my character's attack is 22, the cost should be 3 points... And it's currently asking for 4. I know I'm missing something, or that I'm doing something wrong. I just don't know what. I suck when it comes to formulas, so I'd really appreciate any kind of help you could provide. Thanks in advance!
  2. Hello! I wanted to make a state which turns incoming damage into HP. That is, if your actor had the state applied, and the enemy used an attack which deals 100 damage on that actor, instead of losing 100 HP your actor would gain HP (I wanted to make it to be 50% of the incoming damage, so he would gain 50 HP in this case). I tried to figure it out by myself, but to no avail. So if someone was kind enough to help me out with this, that would be really, greatly appreciated

Hey, I'm working on a state that increases the HP an ally regains from healing spells such as Heal, Greater Heal, etc. I've created state (36) Heal Buff, and now I'm trying to get the damage formula to work as it is supposed to. The formule i have in my Heal Skill right now is this: b.isStateAffected(36) ? (100 + a.mat*1.5)*1.5 : 100 + a.mat*1.5; I want the skill to check if an ally has the Heal Buff and then multiply the original formula by 1.5 Now, I can't seem to find the problem but whenever I heal in-game, 0 HP is healed, but mana is still subtracted. Why doesn't the game see target b is not affected with state 36 and heal with the original formula. Is it something I did Is there something else that could influence the 0 healing? It could be the fact that I created armor and gave it a state rate(36) of *100%. I just want the player to get healed more by healing spells when a certain piece of armor is worn without checking for every piece of armor in a skill formula PS: I have used the same formula in my fireball spells to check a different state and they also deal 0 damage.
  4. Hi, I'm new here, so sorry if this is something really obvious/had been asked before. I wanted to make an attack that makes the enemy that it was used on more susceptble to it. For example: I use the attack on an enemy and it takes 1x damage. I use it the second time and it takes 1,1x damage. The third time it takes 1,2 and so on. Is there a way to do it? It doesn't have to be exactly 10% stronger every time, but stronger enough to be noticable. Is there any way to do something like this? Thanks in advance.
  5. I would like to understand exactly how enemies determine who to target with their attacks. One would assume that if there are 3 party members in battle, then each party member has roughly a 33.33% chance of being the target. However, I would like someone who knows the code to confirm or deny this.
  6. Hello! I would like to know how do I modify the formulas of the game, because I want some parameters to affect others, for example: Agility affect the Evasion Rate and Luck affect the Critical Chance. I've only managed to modify the skills formulas so I wonder: is that possible?
  7. Good day! how do i use variables within formulas? Formulas were supposed to support scripts right? Well i dunno c: What my formula should do: Deal damage and heal allied party by damage dealt. My formula (for Lunatic damage, but dosnt work in normal either) : <custom damage> dmg=a.mat*0.25; part=$game_party.alive_members; part.size.times{|i|part.hp+=(dmg*0.1).to_i}; dmg </custom damage> In oneline: dmg=a.mat*0.25;part=$game_party.alive_members;part.size.times{|i|part.hp+=(dmg*0.1).to_i};dmg Outcome: Null. It seems like i cant use variables within the formula, like, when i remove everything but "dmg=xyz ; dmg" i still get null. What do i do wrong? Thanks in advantage! Bawb.
  8. I'm trying to create a self destruct skill for an enemy. I got everything working except for one small detail. Here's the damage formula: a.add_state(1) ; 500 + a.atk - b.def The battler dies, and the skill deals damage as it should, but the battler won't disappear. It's impossible to target it after. That means the issue is it's not playing the death animation and making it transparent. What am I doing wrong?
  9. Hey, I tried to use the custom formula in items. But here is the thing, I'm unable to use the item outside of battle. Why? Item: Unable to kill of Eric If you are wondering why I don't use the effect list to kill him. It's because I want to do some other stuff aswell in the formula! Since it works fine in combat I don't understand why it won't work outside of combat If anyone could explain this to me I'd be very happy Edit: It doesn't work even if you just put a number in there.   10. Placeholder States are special states that use a formula to determine which state will be added, when they are actually being added to a battler. For example, let's say you had a state called "Freeze". When you first apply the freeze state, the enemy will be frozen. However, if you applied the freeze state to an enemy that is already frozen, they will shatter and die. As another example, suppose you had a state called Poison. When you first apply the state to a battler, Poison 1 will be added. When you add the Poison state to a battler that already has Poison 1, it will be removed, and replaced with Poison 2. This allows you to create states that can be used on the same battler multiple times, but potentially have different results. More information and downloads available at HimeWorks

Hello, I'm having a little trouble saving space on the formula box, on an item, not a skill, and I wonder if any of you could help me use the following item formula in a more compact way: I've 4 actors each one has, a "power" or whatever variable v[1], v[2], v[3], v[4] Basically I want: if a.id==1;v[1]*3+20-b.def*2; elsif a.id==2;v[2]*3+20-b.def*2; end; And so on, taking on account the 4 actor's variables: if a.id==1;v[1]*3+20-b.def*2; elsif a.id==2;v[2]*3+20-b.def*2; elsif a.id==3;v[3]*3+20-b.def*2; elsif a.id==4;v[4]*3+20-b.def*2; end; It works so far with 2 strings but it's too big to fit on the box. Might there be a way to first determine who is the User and then do the rest of the formula so I don't have to write it for each elsif? Thank you all in advance.
  12. Im just wondering where can i change the default turn order formula for determining who attacks first during battles. I know its to do with agility, attack speed and a random number in a formula but where can i edit this formula? Any help is appreciated thanks everybody So i found this online def speed speed = subject.agi + rand(5 + subject.agi / 4) speed += item.speed if item speed += subject.atk_speed if attack? speed end Im gonna ctrl shift F to look for this on the default scripts and fiddle around with it to try and make some magic happen. Its not in a formula like the damage formula so i dont know if the damage formula variables apply or not? Going to post in script requests since i have discovered that this formula may only be edited Via script. Not like damage formulas in the skill tab of the database lol
  13. Hello, I hope one could help me with this formula I'm trying to make. Basically I'm trying to stack elements on weapons, since I can only have one by default on each weapon, I thought on relying on skill formula (don't really want to use scripts for that) So, the Sword has a Physical ATK element. The Rat has a 150% Fire weakness and 150% Ice weakness. This is the formula (3)=Fire: a.atk*4 - b.def*2 / b.element_rate(3) The Normal Attack does 8 damage. The Fire Attack, with the formula, manages to deal 12. That works good for me. Now, how could I possible do something like this?: a.atk*4 - b.def*2 / b.element_rate(3) and include b.element_rate(4) Ice And manage to deal 16 damage? To make my normal damage 8 to add 4 because of fire weakness and 4 more cause of Ice weakness. When I do this: a.atk*4 - b.def*2 / b.element_rate(3) / b.element_rate(4) It deals 14 damage instead of 16. I'm not really very skilled with math, so, help to use the proper symbols and math would be greatly appreciated.
  14. So I'm trying to make a formula that checks if a state is applied to the target. If it is, then the attack will add another state. If it's not, then the skill will not. This is what I came up with: b.state?(x)? r = b.add_state(y) ; a.atk * 2.75 : r = a.atk * 2.75 ; r - b.def * 1.25 It throws me error starting with the ; after the b.add_state(y) I'm not sure how else to write it though. Any suggestions on the correct way to do this? EDIT: I also tried this one: r = a.atk*2.75 - b.def * 1.25 ; if b.state?(x)?; c = b.add_state(y); c; end; c = c I get the same kind of error though. I guess I just don't know where to place all the ;
  15. This formula is what I'm using b.state?(x) ? r=200 : r=100 ; r-50 I want to check for multiple states though. This is where I'm having a problem. I've tried this b.state?(x, x) ? And the damage comes as null. I've tried this other b.state?(x)(y) ? And I get an error when the skill is used. I'm no scripter so I really don't understand how I can make this work. Anyone know?
  16. Hi So Dungeon and Dragons? you got to have played it or at least heard of it. It's like the mother of RPG's. Anyways, so I skimmed trough some D&D books I had to get some ideas not long ago and I found Quick spell "quickened spell is a free action. You can perform another action, even casting another spell, in the same round as you cast a quickened spell." Is it possible to implement this in the normal skills formula and if so how? Sins I can only the basic like: a, b, if, or, +, -, *, / and also is there a good place or tutorial where I can learn about formulas? just enough so I can make ability's with twists like this I guess Tnx in advance
  17. Hey! First of all, I'm new to the forums so if this is the wrong section to post this on, please let me know. Now that's covered, allow me to explain the situation, as the title of the post doesn't really explain much. Going into details, I have a Samurai in my project. He has an ability that hurts one enemy, and grants him a self-buff called Solar Blessing, which increases his defense, and grants him resistance against Fire. I looked on the internet for a formula for this (since, I don't really know if this is possible through normal means because if I add a feature on the skill so it inflicts the status, it'd end up buffing the enemy) and after almost 30 minutes of searching I finally found one on Fomar's blog: a.add_state(2); a.atk * 4 – b.def * 2 That's the formula I use, of course making sure to change that 2 to the actual ID of the state I want to grant him. However, when I use the skill, the game sends an error message: Something about a syntax error, and "expecting $end", if I'm not mistaken. I tried solving that on my own at no avail. And I'm pretty dumb at scripting too, so this really isn't my thing... I'd like to know if any of you guys may find a possible solution for this, or would I have to use common events/advanced scripts to make this happen? I know I could simply change the skill but... I really want to make Solar Blessing a thing... so... yeah... Please. Help my Samurai be op.

  19. [(a.atk * 4.0) * (b.def / 100.0),999].min Ok so that's my formula I came up with. The damage is based on 999 as the max. Let me start by breaking down the formula. [(a.atk * 4.0) pretty basic. [ start of an array. a.atk * 4.0 so 4x the players atk. atk is capped at 255 in my game, or will be when I get a good min maxing parameter script. * (b.def / 100.0) Ok I know there is a Physical damage rate option in the game. Most people like to use that, I did not. Defense ranges from 1 to 100. the lower the defense, the more damage will get dealt. Think armor class from 1st and 2nd ed d&d. you want a lower number for more protection. This is because the enemies defense is being divided by 100.0. That will return an integer. so if you have 65 defense, you reduce all incoming damage by 35% I'll touch on what I want to do about this later. .999].min This just means if the damage exceeds 999 it will be set to 999 Ok so in theory this works. Defense wont remove a straight amount, it lowers the damage by a percent instead of a straight amount. I know I can use PDR to achieve the same effect, but I can also use this method and give people a visual representation. now unto the developmental part. see my first problem comes with def. What you see is not what you get. If you have 75 defense, that means you have 25% reduction. I'd like the defense stat to show the % that is being reduced. so if you have 75 defense, you reduce damage by 75%. I'm thinking I can do it with Yanfly's lunatic mode but I'm not entirely sure. If anyone has suggestions I'd love to hear it

    Heyo, I was too impatient to finish the Skill Icons and then post this - that stuff actually requires work. So here's something I would like to throw out for critique - this isn't really a concept topic - since I have these skills written down and adjusted every now and then. So here goes nothing. The Foundation My Project creates Damage in a more unique way, but then again we all strive for this. So before posting up the Skills I have, I would to show how those skills actually work: Damage Formula Hopefully I did not scare you off by using math and that you're continually reading this trivial post. Now to the actual topic: Actor 1's (Let's call her Red) Skills Actor 2's (Let's call her White) Skills Actor 3's (Let's call her Purple) Skills Actor 4's (Let's call him Pink) Skills Additional Characters (Fusions, Summons, Transformations) Actor 34's (White's + Purple's Fusion) Skills Because Actor 34 is a unique character that can only be accessed within battle, she is not upgrade-able. She follows the traditional way of learning skills via level, her level being determined by the average of White and Purple's level. Main Skills Passives Actor 5's (Rose) Skills Rose is a summon that is only accessible during battle, meaning she is not upgrade-able.
