Yoshinator posted a topic in Introductions & Farewells
Hey I'm new here and the first thing I want to ask it why can't I edit my profile? Is it only because I'm new or do I need to be higher up in the community?- 3 replies

I've noticed, that some users have ultra-long signatures, that are simply invasive. Literally, I've bumped into a signature, that is as high as 1000 pixels, which is almost enough to cover the whole screen. Members keep pointing out to the others, that they should put their code in spoilers. I also recall some reports regarding long signatures in the past, so I believe it is safe to say, that no one wants to get through these walls over and over again. We always were reminding members, that the maximum allowed height for signatures is 200 pixels. While most of you respect that, there are members, who don't. So now I present you a solution: I have modified how these are displayed. Basically in the editor ~ in your actual signature, you can still put as much things as you want (don't go wild with interpreting this though - obviously, harmfully long images for spamming purposes will result in troubles), but only 200 first pixels will be displayed. The rest will appear cut-off - not displayed, that is. Nope, I'm not yelling, don't you worry. I'm just highlighting the important information, as I can imagine members asking "why my signature gets cut-off in posts?". So now you know the answer beforehand. It is to make it all nicer mainly for you, not us. You are the ones, who point out / report these things after all. Of course as always, feel free to discuss that change. Feedfrontback is always welcomed. Thank you!

I recently remembered an old topic Tsarmina made that was about telling people about some pros and cons of yourself. I've seen some active games recently, but I don't recall seeing one that actually let us "meet" each other. Especially the newer members, so I thought this would help amend that - even if it turns out to be a short topic before Kaz waves her mighty keys and locks the topic :3 (in a friendly way of course~) ===================================== Introduction This topic is to allow us to get to know each other a little better. Each poster will have the chance to answer a question asked by the previous poster, and then give a question of their own for the next person. Rules - No spamming or off topic posts. This keeps teh "game" tidy and on topic. - No offensive or insulting questions. This counts for questions such as "whos better, x or y" since this can cause alot of arguments and trouble. - You can have brief chatter within the topic, as long as you answer/ask a question like stated. Adding an extension to the end of your post is fine such as; answer to previous poster currently asked question (Oh hey, I watched that show too. It was really good!) That is acceptable as long as the topic continues smoothly. - Don't be a question/answer hog! If you answered a question, and then someone after you answer your question, then let some time pass before you answer again. This lets everyone get a chance to respond and lets us get to know more people. If a day has passed and no one has responded, then you may then answer again to keep the topic lively~ - No advertising or anything. Just keep the topic on topic please~ If someone doesn't understand teh topic, then please look over the previous posts to understand. I hope this makes sense xD ================================== What is your favorite gaming genre?

Resource Area Welcoming New Types of Resources - More Support Update #2
Rikifive posted a topic in Forum Announcements
Hello everybody! A new forum for resources has been created. Now you can post much more than resources for RPG Maker series. Due to this, the ability to create threads in the old resource area has been disabled. All threads from that forum will be slowly moved to the new one, but feel free to report your and others' threads, to give them higher priority, or just mention them below in a post. Yep! You can help by giving us a list of threads you want to keep. they don't even have to be yours! We'd appreciate that! There are new rules posted all over the place for your convenience. I hope they're much simpler to follow than they used to be! If you'll have any questions, suggestions or if you'll find something not right, just let us know! Also, feel free to rant on things! Thank you for your patience! FAQ Q: Aww, Recourse areas were reorganized not so long time ago. You asked us to update our threads with these tags and such, do we have to do that all again? A: No, you don't have to! If you've updated your threads with those fancy tags before, they've been moved to the new section for you already. You don't have to do anything! They're okay! You can still edit them if you wish, the tagging requirements have been lifted (kind of). -
We're happy to announce, that Game Maker section is available! While things are still work in progress, you're free to post your threads with questions and such, as well as your projects/games in the Game Production area. In case if somebody doesn't know what Game Maker is - Game Maker Studio is a software, that allows you to create games from scratch through using build-in drag&drop functions, to coding things on your own. It is capable of making both, 2D and 3D games, though it focuses mainly on 2D games as there are better alternatives for 3D games. Platformers, top-down/sidescrollers, shooters, RPG's, point&clickers, tower defense, etc., etc., it all is up to you! For a comparison, it is more advanced software than RPG Maker series (difficulty-wise), due to lack of a pre-coded game, but it allows you to nicely step into the scripting with its user friendly editor. Few tutorials and simple games for testing will be enough to give you the general idea on how things work, which will allow you to approach more complex projects. If you're familiar with scripting in RPG Maker, you'll find it easier to learn to script in Game Maker. If you'd like to see what Game Maker Studio can do, here is a video showcasing some recent games made with it: You can purchase Game Maker Studio for $99.99 (Desktop Licence) on their website. They also offer a free trial if you'd like to give it a try first. Have fun and feel free to discuss the software on the forums!

Hey guys , I'm new , I guess I'll settle here, I've been very frustrated registering in the (https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php) forums. I've tried so many times to register my different emails but I dont get any email verifications in my inbox, this has been going on for days now. Oh well anyways , Hello to all, I'm a Concept Artist by trade and been wanting to create my own games since I started working in the game industry and RPG maker might be a good small step to it , I also like writing down stories and I've taken screenwriting classes to that might help me out making compelling stories. um, the end? XD

gallery Limited Number of Member's Albums in Gallery?
Rikifive posted a topic in Forum Feedback and Support
Hello everybody, I wanted to upload an image to the gallery and I've noticed, that I can't create a new album or I just can't seem to find where I could do so. I made one album for testing purposes ages ago, back when the gallery was enabled, but I can't make more. Are we limited to have only one album or I'm overlooking an obvious button? Thankies! -
Not sure where I should put this, so i thought i post here, would it be possible to add an avatar limit to how many times u change it, as certain member(s) have been abusing it and its starting to get annoying, seeing them change it constantly. thanks

I tested on both Chrome and Opera, when clicking Load more Topics, it doesn't show more topics, just switches page to 2, and even if it switches to page 2 the topics shown are the same. Is it just me?

Just a suggestion for the forum, maybe a way to implement "Select as Best Answer" on a post? So when someone is asking a script support or a script request and it has been answered, the user can just click the "Best Answer" and a mark that says "Answered" on the forum post is tagged / pinned so we don't have to go back and answer the question or the mod can lock it after it has been answered

Hello moderators, hello community! A suggestion. Quick and pain(full?)less... I noticed that a special section about stories doesn't exist.. (i'm hoping that i didn't missed that one if it does exist!) I'm thinking that in particular RPG games, besides the battle action and the character\level design they do rely very much on their story. There is always a tale to be told and the game itself depends (on most cases) very much on it. And there's always the people who do want to practice or get some ideas about their plots in their games... Long story short.. Would it require to much effort/human resources to make a section dedicated to stories/writings? Maybe people would respond positive to it, but then again, maybe not. As i said, just a quick and pain(full?)less suggestion! Thanks for reading this!

There we are... Kids, Teens and Grownups... all with one goal in mind, we all share the same passion. The creation of games. Sitting whole days & nights in front of our PC's creating... Some do better than others, while some struggle to understand 'the way' it's done. Some will give up along the way, some will not. I often find myself depressed 'melting' before my PC, bitchin about a script that doesn't work... Then i often turn to the community. This community. It is amazing really that, most of the times instantly, i get responses from people (that's all of you) trying to help me out. Me. A completely stranger. Why? I don't know why, but it is amazing. I get responses, i get advise, i get guidance. The community helps me to understand, to overcome, to resolve the problems. And then i realize that it was my fault the script didn't worked. It was my fault, because i didn't really understood how it worked or because i didn't followed the instructions the coder has set step by step. So at that moment i get two feelings. First is i get ashamed, i feel like an idiot and i get angry with myself for bitchin the coder's work and the second is i feel proud for the people who spend so much time to create scripts (tools) for us to work with. I mean, they don't expect something in return for this, yet they do it. Again and again and again... It is remarkable really... Keeping that in mind, i just wanted to thank every single one of them for their work, for their patience with all of us who have questions, for their passion. I want to thank every single one of you, every single one member of this community for doing what you possibly can to help others with their problems... Sincerely, you cannot put a price on that. This is the value of the community. Because we all share the same passion. From heart, thank you!

I know it's already part of the site's "tradition", but don't you think the name "Music Academy" is a little misleading? When I first saw the name I thought it was a forum for learning how to compose or arrange music. Do let me know if I'm making a fuss about nothing here, please.

I have three things to say. 1. Can we have the Global Forum Rules posted in a thread where they would be more visible? Where they are right now, they're somewhat hard to locate. Having a more easily accessed thread for them would be nice. 2. I've noticed forums similar to this one have a Reputation system (the more points you are awarded by other users the higher their reputation). Is there a reason we don't do this? I'm not saying this should be implemented, just wanted some clarification. And for the last one.... This forum is absolutely Seriously though, a shout out to all the wonderful people of this forum!!!
