My laptop screen can't be calibrated. Oh well. I guess this turns out fine... (Uploaded on my personal imgur acount) True Story: My printer/scanner died just a couple of days ago. I only had blank post-it notes, a kiddie pencil, my smartphone (camera), a creaky-old office laptop, and Photoshop. Voila! My post-it note artwork was born.

Hint's in the title. Is it bad for an RPG to involve levels/equipment/money grinding? Most of my favorite RPG's involve grinding in some fashion, and I typically don't mind too much, as long as my character actually feels stronger because of my efforts. Agree? Disagree?

Sorry I didn't tell you guys before but I went to Florida for a vacation so I really didn't get a chance to update my blog frequently. But I had some time to work on the History of FosGi and it is now up to date with the current game I am making. I will upload the document as soon as I get a chance to figure out how to do so from google docs. P.s. The history I Wrote can be the grounds for more games in the future. There is a crazy war called the Death War. At this time, Queen Dekelena was in power when the undead crossed the ice bridge in the Frost Age from Diamon to Forister. She trained an army of elite soldiers to fight off the undead. The Queen also gained access to magic from speaking with the jarl in Arisia which is the town where they discovered magicks.

There are many traits in a game that'll determine whether or not it is "good", but what traits work with what traits? For instance, a game of the Horror genre wouldn't fly too well with a Fallout type play style rather than a stealthy play style like in Assassin's Creed. My friend is an indie game developer and would really appreciate it if people would take this survey. [click] So far, we've had two participants. If anyone thinks that it would help the community, we could post results once we've had 20 people take it. Anyway, they're just having a huge problem trying to decide how important an orginal gameplay mechanic is making a good, memorable game. A lot of fantastic games out there have unoriginal play styles, but times are changing, and it'd be nice to see what people think about that and other things. Thanks!

So up until recently (just kinda not really motivated with everything else going on), I had a penchant for picking up ridiculous arcade games and playing them through to completion for Twitch, then archiving them on Youtube. I can post general links to them if people are interested, but the fact remains, have you ever played a game that was so utterly terrible and/or cheesy that you couldn't help but love it? A few good examples are games like Violent Storm (arcade), Deadly Premonition (multiple systems), and...Ninja Baseball Batman (arcade, and yes it's amazing).

Hi, i just came up with a great idea for monster-pet raising game. I want to hear you guy comment about it ( And it will be great if someone joins me, since i will never do this game alone because i know i can't ...) Player starts in Balgrum - a small village surrounds by forests & mountains. He receive a random MP (monster-pet) & begin the adventure... to stop Dark Lord. But the unique here is: You can only have 1 MP at once. Say i get MP A: And then i captured 3 another MP, they all turned into cards and can't summon during battle. BUT player can fusion MP together to create another new one ex: A+ B = C ; C+E = F ; F+Z = M that way you get stronger MP overtime. But say if you fusion formula is wrong, then your current MP is replaced by the new one. Hehe, dramatic isn't it? * Assume after 3 correctly fusion times, you get MP M but then you wonder what will happen if you fusion M with cute low level MP K ?? You want to try, however it's too risk since if it failed, you lost M & remain with K instead. + FAIL = NOOOOOOO! HEHE! That's right. And the game auto save itself. There is noway you can revert process xD That way may be for 100 players it's rarely to have same MP for 2 The part i like most is that you can't save no cheating ok!

Process for making monsters list :> How do you do it?

Aloha everybody ! Recently, i'm working to create a monsters list for my project. Firstly, i had just designed some random monsters that i like most, but then i realized they're a mess. Beside my monster seems so... illogic. Bone mouse, cute monster girls, skeletor.. hmm nothing to say. Then, i come up with this progress & it seems be better for a logic list of monsters: Step 1: - Determining groups ex: Water Controllers, Magic Users, Undead, Demon, Cute ... Step 2: - Give each group unique characteristic ex: Group "Live in Grave", this group includes "Thirty Bat, Ghost, Demon tree, grave keeper, dusty bone ....etc.." - group describe: All of they're scary and very guileful, prefer acting alone, slow, not good for melees but have ability to poison enemy. Low defense but their recuperation is really good. Step 3: Create a standard monster first, this monster then become the reference for another monsters in the group. Step 4: Everything is easier now, use your favorite software for managing monsters or do it on a paper How about you? Are you creating monsters in a random way too? Or you have some good methods but never share? Come on, i love to hear them Everybody loves to hear them! So tell us, plz. Thxs -
Shining Game, Shining Idea But... I have no time x_X

I'm making one interesting game and i had finished in building the main actors. Would you guys like finish my incomplete works (building enemies, dungeons ....) because i'm really not good with these but i love to see when my game was completed and playable Main Actor has 3 ability types to choose, they are might ab, trick ab and magic ab. He can learn whatever he want but some specified abilities require an amount of skill points had been spent on that ability type for learning. There is no level up but you only get stronger base on which ability you learnt... yah it's good, isn't it.
