  4. Hi there ! So, I'm here to obviously recruit people for a game I'm working on alone from almost a year, I've restarted this project from zero a countless amount of times. I'm trying to work on this project seriously but I just don't have enough skills to do everything alone so I'd like to work in a team, not necessarily a big one but having a little help would be appreciated. NOTICE: As I started everything again various times, the game is actually undone. I mean I made something but not a big part. I made some maps, some starting events only to see how the game goes without much details and stuff. I made some tilesets too, only partially but they're okay. The music and sound effect is totally 0% as that's not my thing at all, and so on.. Also, as I'm currently without a computer (it died) I'm working more on a book writing down things and such, when I can I use someone's computer to actually work on rpgmv. WARNING: I'm not sure about how to rate this game but I'm rating it R18 as it'll probably contain lot of swearing, bad terms, nudity and explicit graphic violence. So here's everything there's need to know: Title: Dead Blue; title may change anytime as this one is a little random. Engine: RPG Maker MV. Language: Main lang is english, but as my main lang is italian, I will do other lang available too. Trailer: "You know what Lil, that evening, the evening you said you felt some kind of strange aura around me. It's awkward but that night after the show and the after-party I went home and when I got to bed I had some strange lucid dreams. I was in a forest, the first time, it was okay. Nothing really strange, just a biiiig wood full of trees, though it seemed a little off... Like, the color of the leaves and the grass was dark, really dark. And the sky was too, kinda red. I don't know, it gave me some strange feelings, it seemed like there was someone too... I kept watching around and behind me because I felt like a presence constantly on my back. But there was no one. After that I woke up suddenly like I was scared but it didn't actually happen anything to scare me. I got back to bed after a good tea, I swear I was f**king scared like I just had a nightmare of a giant spider following me! So I had to calm down or I wouldn't have gone back to sleep. As I fall asleep I have the same dream. This time I was feeling scared in the dream too, and I felt a lot more the presence behind me, like, I am just sure enough that there was someone or something there but I couldn't see it. The sky was like.. disappeared? It was just pitch black. Absolutely nothing. The wood was scarier though I don't really know why... It was exactly like before, but my feelings and sensations being there were totally different. I could feel something strange, scary and tense. I was nervous and din't know what to do or where to go... And... Here comes the scariest part. For some minutes I thought I woke up, I don't even know if I actually woke up or not but it seemed a lot more like real life than a dream this, however, I woke up in a room of two kid, a room I never saw, what scares me the most is that it was exactly like reality. I got out of bed ad it felt f**kin' real! The room was a mess, it looked like it wasn't being used from years. There were two doors but they were both locked so I couldn't do anything however. At some point, watching some stuff around I felt again a presence, stronger than before... and it was like I knew it wasn't a good thing, I had this feeling that if that thing I felt was a person or like a ghost, a dead person or something like that, it was a bad one. While I had this thought I found this key hidden on a shelf. As I touch it I suddenly feel two hands on my shoulders and they drag me back on the bed in a blink and then I woke up in my bed and it was morning." Characters: Only the first character is playable as for now. In the future will be add other playable characters. Some of those character don't even have a meaning in the game.. so.. Main Characters: • Lou - he/him - 21 y/o - adopted - leader and main singer of an industrial metal band - suffers of amnesia; • Lilith "Kuro" - she/her - 21 y/o - adopted - Lou's best friend - female voice and bass player of the band - "Kuro" is her stage name - apathetic; • W - ??? Other characters (not really important to the game): • Ashley - Lou's sister (not by blood); • Ethan - Lilith's brother and Lou's other best friend; Other characters (that are actually not needed at all): • Sarah - Ashley (by blood) and Lou (not by blood)'s sister; • Ray - Lou's ex-classmate. Mechanics: Basically the games goes through missions (to give some ideas, exactly like every Devil May Cry or Alice Madness Returns) in which Lou, which had a severe head injury (trauma) that led him first to coma and then to the total amnesia of everything that happenned before waking up from coma, is trying to recover his memories (he doesn't actually know this detail). Each mission recovers one memory (idk how many there will be thought) till the end of the game. The mission basically goes : lou having nightmares → having to find some objects or solving enigmas and so on → finding or obtaining a memory. Through every mission there will be some collectable objects and different things to make missions more fun and interesting. What I need: Exactly I need someone that has fantasy and is good at making enigmas and things to solve to go through the game. The missions I talked about first are to do, and I need someone that can help me with that, I have some ideas but nothing as big as creating the actual mission and I can't actually get to create something decent to make the player actually interested in what they're playing. Obviously I'll accept every kind of help but this one is what I need the most right now. My parents just didn't want to spend money on games and I was pretty alone too, so I didn't even know what games were popular and stuff, my first actual games where I actually spent hours and days were online mmorpg such as Elsword, Wizard 101, Grand Fantasia and so on. I'm actually an "artist", I draw since I was born. I always did it, I have my own cartoonish style and I'm not really that good for being 18 years of drawing almost everyday. I did two years in art highschool but for some reasons they got wrong and I was in a bad period for my mental health, they basically kicked me out of school as I repeated two times the same grade and that's the maximum for that school. Now I'm going to a graphic night school and since being there I realized how much videogames fascinate me, I already knew rpg maker but I never actually dreamt of developing an actual game. As I am a really technological person and I love everything related to computers, both hardware and software, programming and so on, the idea of developing videogames (and I'm not only talking about tiny pixel games made with rpg maker but also actual 3D games) really interests me and what I dream of right now is to finish this school and get to a nice game dev school. As for now, I just want to finish this game because I spent a lot of my time on this even if it's still at the start but I'd like to see where my abilities can arrive.   6. Hi there! I'm making a horror game and I noticed alot of people wanted to know how to make a monster that chases you through different maps and I came up with a way that worked for me. I hope you can use my system! NOTE: If you want a video tutorial click here! Switches and Variables The first thing you need to do is make a few switches and variables. Switches Enemy Chase Enemy Appear Variables Player X Player Y Enemy X Enemy Y Enemy Chase Length Enemy Chase Counter (Optional) Life Note: Because my enemy is a robot all my switches are named a little bit differently Setting up your enemy So your enemy event will look something like this If you want the enemy to insta-kill just remove the last 2 lines and replace it with "Game Over" My custom move route is: "Move toward player" "Move toward player" "Move toward player" "Move toward player" "Move toward player" "Move at random" "Move toward player" "Move toward player" Of course settings such as speed move route and the event itself can be changed just make sure you have "Enemy Appear" as a switch. Note: You must have the enemy pasted in EVERY MAP for this to work where doesn't matter Setting up map transferring For your enemy to transfer maps you must have an event that looks like this What the common event "Player X and Y" does is later in this post. What "Wait [Number] Frame(s)" does is for example: When the player enters a new map after 2 seconds (120 frames) the enemy will appear. Note: The set event location is "Set "Enemy" to Robot X, Robot Y" Note: You must have this event pasted in EVERY MAP for this to work where doesn't matter Common Events You will need 2 common events: Player X and Y Enemy First you will need to make the Player X and Y common event what looks like this Make sure the trigger is "None"! Now you need to make the Enemy common event what looks like this This common event is basically a timer. If the time is up the monster disappears. Now let's move on to the last event! Summoning Enemy Of course you need to summon your enemy! This event is only an example. The "Enemy Chase Length" is how many seconds you want the enemy to chase you in this case 25.   10. Hello there, here's something different from a classic RPG, a point-and-click, like Riven or Myst. This project is very particular, because it is set in a real city, with real people, citizens, who interpret themselves in a dystopian version of our town Carrara, (Tuscany | Italy). Carrara is the capital of marble, it's a city famous all over the world because of the quality of the most famous stone with which they built the greatest works of humanity, from Roman times to the Renaissance. In this story, the city has been hit by an apocalypse. The narrative is actually rendered in a horror fashion for mere provocation, as a consequence of the decline experienced over the years by many Italian towns, which were previously famous and full of tourists and nowadays languish in desolation. We have translated the game in English just to show the structural wonders of our city, even if in a dystopian and horror fashion, just to create a contrast between fiction and reality... The game is based on real photographs of the town, which has been mapped in Google Map style, at night or at dawn when nobody was around.   13. The Town That Feared Nightfall NOTICE! This will be updated with each new update to the game itself (current update is in the exe's name). Abstract: A small town is suddenly gripped with fear as a killer randomly picks them off at night, and only you can save them if you're quick enough to find them. Genre: Horror, murder mystery, and MLP FIM (Friendship Is Magic) Average Demo Time: 30 minutes at most Game Progression: At the moment the game only goes up to the end of night 2, which can end in a couple of ways. There are unfinished bits, like characters having no lines at certain parts. I'm trying to mainly focus on the story and important moments, but I will go back and add character lines after I get enough of the story done. The game will take a long time to finish and fully write, since there are more than 1 outcome to certain cutscenes, hence why you'll see characters just standing idly and mute. My best friend, Silvergunner, tested the game and told me to resize a house or two to better match the building's outside shape. So I'll be doing that sometime in the future, also---and spoiler for night 2 so read at your own risk. Also, if you play the tutorial lvls there is a glitch that I just cannot fix. I'll be posting a topic about it but basically it's a pathfinding/stealth issue. Other than that my friend reported no other glitches, but if you manage to run into one be sure to let me know. Also! Almost forgot but if you play the game then do so as the female character. Why? Because I wrote 85% of the game's cutscenes so far for her, I'll have to go back and rewrite nearly every single cutscene with the male character, which I'm not gonna do until I get most of the game completed. Recruitment: I can't really pay to recruit people, but whoever plays the alphas and help report bugs and such will all get credited when game is completed. Story / Setting / Purpose: The game will be mostly set in a single town (it's mostly empty with a in-game reason given). You can pick between a male or female character (again pick the latter for now, unless you want to see her cutscenes as the male character) who arrive in town on your way either to a collage or to become a teacher. However, when you stay overnight you are awoken by a scream. A pony is found dead, and it is only the beginning as you soon become the victim of a sickening game. If you're quick you can save the lives of a few ponies, but take to long and their death is on your hands (or just let them die for a very bad ending, you monster XD). So if you play your cards right you can save more than 1 life (WHEN I fully write said outcomes), a key feature is your choices and the possible paths, endings, and character interactions. The purpose of this game is take a old yet still commonly used story and rework it with a new twist. Taking something old and breathing life into it with a totally new spin, and if you're a FIM fan you'll know what I mean when you play the alpha which only begins the mystery. Another key feature I want to do is leave enough open for people to theorize and connect all the dots like they would for the FNAF series. So you'll be getting clues and pieces to a puzzle that, when you get every possible ending and scenes, are still left with enough to want to theorize and figure out the key question that the game never gives you. So, in shorter words, a cult classic is what I'm hoping to create.     My laptop screen can't be calibrated. Oh well. I guess this turns out fine... (Uploaded on my personal imgur acount) True Story: My printer/scanner died just a couple of days ago. I only had blank post-it notes, a kiddie pencil, my smartphone (camera), a creaky-old office laptop, and Photoshop. Voila! My post-it note artwork was born.
  19. I am taking a break from my big game, due to computer trouble and working on the problem. I won't go into that, but the problem is solved at any rate. While I am working on my commission, I am remaking a horror game that I created for a contest, and using Yanfly suggesting in her comic I am working on the traps, the database and stuff before I get to the awesome stuff of remaking my maps, plus, creating the layout of my locations. I am a bit stuck, because my game isn't a JRPG and that's the game that her comic is about. Sooo, I have to give it a lot of thought about how to do the things that she suggests. 1. Traps - I have a debug room, for my traps and already I have two created. Be wary of blood. 2. Instead of a darkness script, you are free to see everything around you, but I do use a tint to help with the atmosphere. 3. Thinking of layout before I start. The game is called "Haunted Hills - The death of Innocence" It is a mature game with a young runaway teenager who went to look for work in the city, running away from her abusive alcoholic father, but like most teenagers she doesn't get the job. She ends up becoming a prostitute and like all prostitute, she finds herself taken by a person who means to do her harm. He gives her three days to escape using whatever is lying around and in this game, you make choices. Those choices lead you to an ending that may or may not be good. Can you escape with your sanity intact? This is a mature game, with a mature theme and mature language, with people that are not always remembered in life. My original game is for RPG Maker VX Ace and is one steam, but it isn't the best, as I made it in a month for a contest. I would not suggest that copy at all, but please wait for the better version of the game. My sister is really waiting for this version of the game and already knows the story, she loves it. I used inspiration from various sort of horror games, from Corpse Party, crime shows (real life crimes) and unlike most horror games, there are no true enemies in this game. Only one, one man and he taunts you in the shadows. I had always planned on remaking it, because this game had things that I couldn't do in a month time and because I saw potential in the game. I am planning on selling it, though to help raise money for glasses, new clothes and even a brand new computer, if I can sell enough.

  21. Greetings everyone ! I am currently facing a hard decision . I have too storyline I really appreaciate and I would like to make a game out of both of them however , I really cannot which one to start with . This way , I would like you to tell me which one would you prefer : The first one , it involves several characters (around 15) , this will be a visual novel , survival , sci-fi , mystery , point and click game . In this game , people will die and you will have to discover who is the murderer behind each crime in order to execute them to gain something and discover what has mysteriously happened to them . The storyline will have twists and be rather psychological . There will be a point and click interface , you will be able to interact which characters and get to know their backstory . The second , has fewer characters (around 4) , this will be a 2D cute , fantasist , mystery and magic game . In this game , you will have to discover a mystery involving around the main character when she finds out that her crush mysteriously disappears and that people around seem to freeze without even noticing it . There will be many mini games but it will be mainly about sinking for specific items to go through the storyline which will lead to several endings . There are two pictures : the two first pictures shows most of the characters ( I haven't drawn all of them yet) from the first (survival) game idea and the second picture shows an exemple of point and click interface . There two last pictures show two maps from the second (cute) game .
  22. Name; Star Trek: Genesis. I am trying to make a horror themed game based around the episode of The Next Generation titled Genesis where the crew is de-evolved into various creatures by a virus. Genre: I am attempting a Survival horror game in the vein of classic Resident Evil or Silent Hill, with Elements of Resident Evil 3 as I want there to be a constant pursuer that comes after the player. Game Progression:.05% I am ironing out artwork and tilesets as well as sprite work. Recruitment: I would like someone to help me with sprite work, namely character and enemy sprites. For the character, I want three based tile sets. Unarmed, armed with a hand phaser, and armed with a phaser rifle. Also someone to help with Music Composition. No Demo as of yet Story The game follows Lt Commander Alexandria Ross of the USS Baker, an Intrepid Class vessel sent in to investigate the emergence of the USS Hood, a Constitution Class vessel brought out of mothballs and refit with new technology (Positronic systems, Isolinear circuits....replicators) to buff the fleet during the Dominion War. They find the Hood adrift with low power. Ross is sent in via shuttle due to a radiation leak preventing transport. On board she finds monsters trying to attack her and they destroy the shuttle preventing her escape. Her first goal is to restart the ships warp core to restore power, and restart the ship's computer to discover what happened. Over the course of the game, she encounters a powerful entity that pursues her relentlessly that seems much more intelligent than the rest of the "monsters." In restarting the ship's computer, she over time learns that the Chief Medical Officer, Officer Carmichael did some research on the Intron Virus, first encountered by the crew of the Enterprise-D, called Barclay's Protomorphosis Syndrome. Doctor Carmichael did experiments on the virus to control it and administer it to a Vulcan doctor named T'Sir, his mentor from his days at the academy. T'Sir had come down with Bendii Syndrome, a condition that causes Vulcans to lose mental control of their emotions. Carmichael theorized that ancient Vulcans had stronger mental capabilities as they were used for controlling weapons, so he attempted to activate several dormant genes in T'Sir to help him regain lost mental functions. The virus mutated and infected the ship, and the ship was adrift ever since. Ross can't defeat the creature T'Sir had become and his mental capabilities became so great that he could kill Ross with a wave of a hand. So Ross decides to set the warp core to breach by overloading the coolant lines and escape the ship via escape pod in hopes the Baker detects her and beams her out quickly before the exploding USS Hood kills her. Only known of though his logs. Was recruited into the medical program by T'Sir at Starfleet Academy. Captain Albert Miller; Captain of the USS Hood. Status; unknown. T'Sir; Former Medical Officer for the Vulcan Science Academy and later Starfleet (Retired from Service). At 210 Years of age, he developed Bendii Syndrome. As a result of the Intron Virus, his mental capabilities have increased several fold and has the abilities of the Ancient Vulcan people. He can stop your heart just by looking at you if he wishes. Attempts to negotiate are not recommended. Unknown Klingon Officer; Mutated by the Intron Virus, this Prehistoric Klingon wants nothing more than to kill you in the worst way possible, or does he see you as a mate? The main pursuer until T'Sir kills him. Based on Star Trek, Created by Gene Roddenberry. Based around Star Trek: TNG episode; Genesis, written by Brannon Braga. In the way of screenshots, all I can do is show my tilesets if necessary and partial maps. I also have some plans on graph paper, rudimentary maps so to speak. Wanted features -A Pursuer character much like Nemesis on Resident Evil 3. -Limited Ammo and resources -Ammo is in the form of power cells, which can also be used to power a replicator to get a health fill up..but there are a limited number of power cells...so food or energy for your phaser? Hand Phaser gets 30 shots with one cell, the Rifle gets 12 shots but they are 3x as powerful. -Basic Cut-scenes -3D or in game graphics?

    Looking for an artist.

    Hi everyone! So recently I released a game called Party 2! (Here and here) that got surprisingly popular, and people started asking for a sequel. I accepted, as the story needed a sequel to fully told. So needless to say, I'm developing Party 3! and I need an artist mostly for promotional material, but also for some game assets as well. Only digital art, not pixel art.I hope to hear from some people soon!

    2 spoopy month

    So I realized I have like 60+ games that I categorized as horror or horror themed in my Steam library and that got me thinking...I haven't done ANY twitch in a while (I was actually still working on my Mother 3 playthrough off and on), so why not have something special for the whole month of October? And then I thought hey, wouldn't it be fun if I got the whole community behind it? I'm in the process of installing about 30 or so games that I can select from and intend to twitch for at least an hour a night throughout all October, probably doing a new game each night, even if it's only a one-off. Still, that's my situation. I really only have about an hour or so I can allocate each night, with the exception of my days off, mostly because I have to wake up early on days that I work. What I was wondering is if everyone else wanted to try this? We can post links to each others' twitch accounts, update with what we're playing, etc. This will also help us all get more press, views, and even highlight horror games we might otherwise not have thought of. And that ALSO got me thinking...there are a fair amount of awesome horror games on RPG Maker (The Longing Ribbon, The Witch's House, etc.), so why not highlight some of those as well? It doesn't have to be entirely RPG Maker, but I love finding new kickass RPG Maker games. Anyway, this doesn't have to start until October, but I was wondering what you guys thought about it.
