Single Malt Apocalypse is a cosmic horror adventure game with RPG elements. It’s my love letter to old Sierra and LucasArts adventure games. Very retro 1990s style! It’s something like ”Maniac Mansion meets Dragon Quest”. The story is inspired by classic tales in Amazing Stories and Weird Tales magazines. Most obvious influence is The Colour Out Of Space. I didn’t want to base this on Lovecraft’s mythos so I created my own. The more you explore the more you get to know about it, but it’s still just a glimpse in this game. The game is now available for wishlisting and will be released 4th of August. Price will be $2.99. I've seen websites and devices that let you generate white noise for different stuff like contacting spirits and I was wondering if someone could make a plugin that generates white noise similar to how those do. Yeah some would probably tell me I could just play some white noise as an audio background sound in my game but I feel like that's not good enough and may not really work for what I'm trying to do. Someone please let me know if this can be done with a plugin and if someone could make it for me. I'd appreciate it!

"KIDS WITH KNIVES" - a creepypasta-throwback mystery adventure!

Kids With Knives is a simple-yet-elegant turn-based RPG taking inspiration from early-2010's creepypasta RPG Maker games. It's not really a horror game, but it incorporates spooky elements. It mostly makes use of stock assets and is fairly low-budget to replicate the homegrown amateurish aesthetic, with the emphasis on the story and gameplay. The game takes place within a single small town and its surrounding areas, which nevertheless constitute a surprisingly expansive, open, and explorable world with many secrets to find. Development is still in progress, but we are expecting to release a playable demo sometime in early 2022! No jumpscares, but content warning for animated blood and violent imagery and descriptions. You and your mom have just moved to the small Minnesota town of Pineshade in search of a new lease on life. For you, this means a new school, new friends, and an unfamiliar environment. Despite being a bit lonely at first, the lush wilderness around the town is ripe for indulging your drive for exploration, and soon you manage to make some friends whom you can drag along on your adventures. But as you begin to notice strange occurrences around the town, and unexplained disappearances are reported, the three of you soon realize the town holds a dark secret: numerous malevolent cryptids and monsters of folklore and urban legend, collectively known as Unfound. The grown-ups don't believe you when you tell them of the supernatural forces at work, and you can't simply let them destroy Pineshade Town... so you and your friends resolve yourselves to stopping the Unfound menace and their mysterious leader. The Player: An adventurous, strong-willed kid who lives alone with their mom, having recently moved to Pineshade Town from the city. Functionally the Mage of the group, he builds his expansive Tech skill arsenal not through leveling up but through crafting Tech Weapons. He carries a Swiss Army knife. Kiera: A very strange girl who seems to have her head in the clouds most of the time. Reclusive and socially-awkward, but still eager to make friends, she also seems to have a connection with the Unfound that has yet to be discovered. Kiera is the Warrior of the group, savagely attacking and maiming enemies with bloodthirsty abandon. She carries a kitchen knife. Shauna: A classmate of the Player, she is cheerful and studious, but tends to keep to herself. As things escalate, though, it starts to seem like she may have more of a stake in the fight than was previously thought... Shauna plays a support role to the main trio, providing situation reports and offering sidequests that can reward you with additional skills. Maria: The Player's mom. A dedicated parent through-and-through, Maria welcomes the Player's friends as if they were her own kids, giving the trio someone they can always turn to. Frank: Luke's dad, and Pineshade Town's trusted mechanic. Frank is a rough and hardened type who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty, and he tries his best to be supportive despite not always understanding everything. Mysterious Figure: This sinister being appeared in Pineshade Forest just before the Unfound began to make themselves known. What secrets are they hiding? DISCLAIMER: This game contents violence & use of drugs. Well, I finished a remaster of my all-time classic "Knocka Dora" I programmed a few years ago. It's now completely in English! "Knocka Dora - Re-knocked" is a Horror-Adventure-game with Action-RPG-elements, stamina-system & an absurd sense of humour. I was inspired by * Clocktower * Agoraphobia (Meister Räbbit) * Dark Souls * Kafka's "The Metamorphosis" * own experiences I gathered in a nut house * my babycake *: I crafted almost everything in this game by myself. (If this is a good thing you have to answer for yourself lel.) [: Story: The game is set in a German mental-health hospital in the year 1999. Doreen overacted again. After various drug benders she winded up in a psychiatric ward again. But in two weeks she will be released, when suddenly an ancient evil, which haunts the hospital for decades, embarks once again & slingshots Doreen into an alternate reality. Changes to the original game: * completely in English * Stamina-system, altered ABS * graphics completely in a 16-bit-esque, minimalistic retro-style * a few new songs * highscore at the end of the game * and here & there a little tweet or gag, I thought was funny when I made it Screens: Marco... Hi there! I'm making a horror game and I noticed alot of people wanted to know how to make a monster that chases you through different maps and I came up with a way that worked for me. I hope you can use my system! NOTE: If you want a video tutorial click here! Switches and Variables The first thing you need to do is make a few switches and variables. Switches Enemy Chase Enemy Appear Variables Player X Player Y Enemy X Enemy Y Enemy Chase Length Enemy Chase Counter (Optional) Life Note: Because my enemy is a robot all my switches are named a little bit differently Setting up your enemy So your enemy event will look something like this If you want the enemy to insta-kill just remove the last 2 lines and replace it with "Game Over" My custom move route is: "Move toward player" "Move toward player" "Move toward player" "Move toward player" "Move toward player" "Move at random" "Move toward player" "Move toward player" Of course settings such as speed move route and the event itself can be changed just make sure you have "Enemy Appear" as a switch. Note: You must have the enemy pasted in EVERY MAP for this to work where doesn't matter Setting up map transferring For your enemy to transfer maps you must have an event that looks like this What the common event "Player X and Y" does is later in this post. What "Wait [Number] Frame(s)" does is for example: When the player enters a new map after 2 seconds (120 frames) the enemy will appear. Note: The set event location is "Set "Enemy" to Robot X, Robot Y" Note: You must have this event pasted in EVERY MAP for this to work where doesn't matter Common Events You will need 2 common events: Player X and Y Enemy First you will need to make the Player X and Y common event what looks like this Make sure the trigger is "None"! Now you need to make the Enemy common event what looks like this This common event is basically a timer. If the time is up the monster disappears. Now let's move on to the last event! Summoning Enemy Of course you need to summon your enemy! This event is only an example. The "Enemy Chase Length" is how many seconds you want the enemy to chase you in this case 25. The "Battle6" BGM is just an example for chase music that's why in the "Enemy Chase" common event there is "Fade out BGM" Note: The "Enemy Chase Length" and "Enemy Chase = On" are required! Hi there 😊 ! So, I'm here to obviously recruit people for a game I'm working on alone from almost a year, I've restarted this project from zero a countless amount of times. I'm trying to work on this project seriously but I just don't have enough skills to do everything alone so I'd like to work in a team, not necessarily a big one but having a little help would be appreciated. NOTICE: As I started everything again various times, the game is actually undone. I mean I made something but not a big part. I made some maps, some starting events only to see how the game goes without much details and stuff. I made some tilesets too, only partially but they're okay. The music and sound effect is totally 0% as that's not my thing at all, and so on.. Also, as I'm currently without a computer (it died) I'm working more on a book writing down things and such, when I can I use someone's computer to actually work on rpgmv. WARNING: I'm not sure about how to rate this game but I'm rating it R18 as it'll probably contain lot of swearing, bad terms, nudity and explicit graphic violence. So here's everything there's need to know: Title: Dead Blue; title may change anytime as this one is a little random. Engine: RPG Maker MV. Language: Main lang is english, but as my main lang is italian, I will do other lang available too. Trailer: "You know what Lil, that evening, the evening you said you felt some kind of strange aura around me. It's awkward but that night after the show and the after-party I went home and when I got to bed I had some strange lucid dreams. I was in a forest, the first time, it was okay. Nothing really strange, just a biiiig wood full of trees, though it seemed a little off... Like, the color of the leaves and the grass was dark, really dark. And the sky was too, kinda red. I don't know, it gave me some strange feelings, it seemed like there was someone too... I kept watching around and behind me because I felt like a presence constantly on my back. But there was no one. After that I woke up suddenly like I was scared but it didn't actually happen anything to scare me. I got back to bed after a good tea, I swear I was f**king scared like I just had a nightmare of a giant spider following me! So I had to calm down or I wouldn't have gone back to sleep. As I fall asleep I have the same dream. This time I was feeling scared in the dream too, and I felt a lot more the presence behind me, like, I am just sure enough that there was someone or something there but I couldn't see it. The sky was like.. disappeared? It was just pitch black. Absolutely nothing. The wood was scarier though I don't really know why... It was exactly like before, but my feelings and sensations being there were totally different. I could feel something strange, scary and tense. I was nervous and din't know what to do or where to go... And... Here comes the scariest part. For some minutes I thought I woke up, I don't even know if I actually woke up or not but it seemed a lot more like real life than a dream this, however, I woke up in a room of two kid, a room I never saw, what scares me the most is that it was exactly like reality. I got out of bed ad it felt f**kin' real! The room was a mess, it looked like it wasn't being used from years. There were two doors but they were both locked so I couldn't do anything however. At some point, watching some stuff around I felt again a presence, stronger than before... and it was like I knew it wasn't a good thing, I had this feeling that if that thing I felt was a person or like a ghost, a dead person or something like that, it was a bad one. While I had this thought I found this key hidden on a shelf. As I touch it I suddenly feel two hands on my shoulders and they drag me back on the bed in a blink and then I woke up in my bed and it was morning." Characters: Only the first character is playable as for now. In the future will be add other playable characters. Some of those character don't even have a meaning in the game.. so.. Main Characters: • Lou - he/him - 21 y/o - adopted - leader and main singer of an industrial metal band - suffers of amnesia; • Lilith "Kuro" - she/her - 21 y/o - adopted - Lou's best friend - female voice and bass player of the band - "Kuro" is her stage name - apathetic; • W - ??? Other characters (not really important to the game): • Ashley - Lou's sister (not by blood); • Ethan - Lilith's brother and Lou's other best friend; Other characters (that are actually not needed at all): • Sarah - Ashley (by blood) and Lou (not by blood)'s sister; • Ray - Lou's ex-classmate. Mechanics: Basically the games goes through missions (to give some ideas, exactly like every Devil May Cry or Alice Madness Returns) in which Lou, which had a severe head injury (trauma) that led him first to coma and then to the total amnesia of everything that happenned before waking up from coma, is trying to recover his memories (he doesn't actually know this detail). Each mission recovers one memory (idk how many there will be thought) till the end of the game. The mission basically goes : lou having nightmares → having to find some objects or solving enigmas and so on → finding or obtaining a memory. Through every mission there will be some collectable objects and different things to make missions more fun and interesting. What I need: Exactly I need someone that has fantasy and is good at making enigmas and things to solve to go through the game. The missions I talked about first are to do, and I need someone that can help me with that, I have some ideas but nothing as big as creating the actual mission and I can't actually get to create something decent to make the player actually interested in what they're playing. Obviously I'll accept every kind of help but this one is what I need the most right now. About me: My name's Xavier and usually u find me on games or on the internet as xavlu or xavluciel, I'm a 18y/o italian boy who always had some kind of interest in games but being with the family I have I've never been that boy that "always spends hours on console" in fact I started playing on computer as the only console I had was a Wii with basic games and a Nintendo DSi with only one shitty game. My parents just didn't want to spend money on games and I was pretty alone too, so I didn't even know what games were popular and stuff, my first actual games where I actually spent hours and days were online mmorpg such as Elsword, Wizard 101, Grand Fantasia and so on. I'm actually an "artist", I draw since I was born. I always did it, I have my own cartoonish style and I'm not really that good for being 18 years of drawing almost everyday. I did two years in art highschool but for some reasons they got wrong and I was in a bad period for my mental health, they basically kicked me out of school as I repeated two times the same grade and that's the maximum for that school. Now I'm going to a graphic night school and since being there I realized how much videogames fascinate me, I already knew rpg maker but I never actually dreamt of developing an actual game. As I am a really technological person and I love everything related to computers, both hardware and software, programming and so on, the idea of developing videogames (and I'm not only talking about tiny pixel games made with rpg maker but also actual 3D games) really interests me and what I dream of right now is to finish this school and get to a nice game dev school. As for now, I just want to finish this game because I spent a lot of my time on this even if it's still at the start but I'd like to see where my abilities can arrive. If I can finish this I'd like to start practicing with unity or similar but as I'm only self-taught and not really a genius in everything this still seems a lot hard to me. Hello there, here's something different from a classic RPG, a point-and-click, like Riven or Myst. This project is very particular, because it is set in a real city, with real people, citizens, who interpret themselves in a dystopian version of our town Carrara, (Tuscany | Italy). Carrara is the capital of marble, it's a city famous all over the world because of the quality of the most famous stone with which they built the greatest works of humanity, from Roman times to the Renaissance. In this story, the city has been hit by an apocalypse. The narrative is actually rendered in a horror fashion for mere provocation, as a consequence of the decline experienced over the years by many Italian towns, which were previously famous and full of tourists and nowadays languish in desolation. We have translated the game in English just to show the structural wonders of our city, even if in a dystopian and horror fashion, just to create a contrast between fiction and reality... The game is based on real photographs of the town, which has been mapped in Google Map style, at night or at dawn when nobody was around. Then, each scenario has been transformed in a dystopian style. This game has episodes, think of a TV series, this is the first episode! Hey all, not sure if this website is too active lately, but I recently started working on my VX Ace horror game again, and started drawing all the maps from scratch as parallaxes, as opposed to tiling. I was wondering if anyone would be able to critique them... (screenshots are attached) Critique ANYTHING! Art style, level design, atmosphere, etc... Let me know your thoughts in the comments! The Town That Feared Nightfall NOTICE! This will be updated with each new update to the game itself (current update is in the exe's name). Abstract: A small town is suddenly gripped with fear as a killer randomly picks them off at night, and only you can save them if you're quick enough to find them. Genre: Horror, murder mystery, and MLP FIM (Friendship Is Magic) Average Demo Time: 30 minutes at most Game Progression: At the moment the game only goes up to the end of night 2, which can end in a couple of ways. There are unfinished bits, like characters having no lines at certain parts. I'm trying to mainly focus on the story and important moments, but I will go back and add character lines after I get enough of the story done. The game will take a long time to finish and fully write, since there are more than 1 outcome to certain cutscenes, hence why you'll see characters just standing idly and mute. My best friend, Silvergunner, tested the game and told me to resize a house or two to better match the building's outside shape. So I'll be doing that sometime in the future, also---and spoiler for night 2 so read at your own risk. Also, if you play the tutorial lvls there is a glitch that I just cannot fix. I'll be posting a topic about it but basically it's a pathfinding/stealth issue. Other than that my friend reported no other glitches, but if you manage to run into one be sure to let me know. Also! Almost forgot but if you play the game then do so as the female character. Why? Because I wrote 85% of the game's cutscenes so far for her, I'll have to go back and rewrite nearly every single cutscene with the male character, which I'm not gonna do until I get most of the game completed. Recruitment: I can't really pay to recruit people, but whoever plays the alphas and help report bugs and such will all get credited when game is completed. Story / Setting / Purpose: The game will be mostly set in a single town (it's mostly empty with a in-game reason given). You can pick between a male or female character (again pick the latter for now, unless you want to see her cutscenes as the male character) who arrive in town on your way either to a collage or to become a teacher. However, when you stay overnight you are awoken by a scream. A pony is found dead, and it is only the beginning as you soon become the victim of a sickening game. If you're quick you can save the lives of a few ponies, but take to long and their death is on your hands (or just let them die for a very bad ending, you monster XD). So if you play your cards right you can save more than 1 life (WHEN I fully write said outcomes), a key feature is your choices and the possible paths, endings, and character interactions. The purpose of this game is take a old yet still commonly used story and rework it with a new twist. Taking something old and breathing life into it with a totally new spin, and if you're a FIM fan you'll know what I mean when you play the alpha which only begins the mystery. Another key feature I want to do is leave enough open for people to theorize and connect all the dots like they would for the FNAF series. So you'll be getting clues and pieces to a puzzle that, when you get every possible ending and scenes, are still left with enough to want to theorize and figure out the key question that the game never gives you. So, in shorter words, a cult classic is what I'm hoping to create. Character Bios: Credits: Well at the time of this current alpha the credits would be: Rainbow Jello and Recife for the blood titles, Jet for the chase script, Eric Matyas for the game's main theme ( www.soundimage.org ), Rikifive for her help with the chase script I had to give up on, D.S.Sirius for telling me branches were a similar way to collect and reuse letters, William TheUnproPro and Mystic Sword Gaming for their video tuts over at youtube, Wewius for allowing me to use his scroll vectors (with minor edits) from DA. Avery for the telephone sprites, Enterbrain and Flaming Teddy Productions for the hospital room, ~JV~ as well as Twitch for a few custom items, and Silvergunner for helping me by test playing. Also I would like to credit Conan McPhee (http://pinkamenathegame.tumblr.com/) as without his permission to adopt the randomized characters in his game, then all of the OCs (least Speedy, Silver Shadow, Axl, and Yumi Everton) wouldn't had existed. Features: Turns out, and thanks for Silvergunner trying this at pure random, you can use a controller to play the game! Tho he did so by using Xpadder, which is a free program that lets you use PC/Laptop/emulators with a controller. Give it a try if you prefer a controller over a keyboard! Also the key feature to the game, after I fully write it all, are different possible paths and cutscenes. Ugh it'll take a long time to write all of this. It's been some time since I started this topic and I admit it has been a learning process, as I learn to organize everything in a manner that everyone can find.
