    Pathway: Desire Resources

    I made some grayscale resources for my indie in a week game Pathway Desire and while they are somewhat limited and i'm no expert spriter... I thought: why not share them? This is how they look (if you're too lazy to click on my signature): These tiles are formated for RM VX/ACE. As for terms of use: you're free to use them both commercially and non comercially credit would be appreciated. Also, since I'm kind of free these days so if you want me to add a little something to the tileset (except maybe water, I have no clue how to do it) I'm taking requests. NOTE: This will contain some small spoilers about the game (bosses, mostly). So, if you ever want to play it, consider giving it a whirl before checking these out. Tiles: Characters: Faceset The character with the hat is inspired by RMW's Scinaya's female healer from Restaff june 2012 Icons: For icons I used mostly Crazy_Leen's http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/31274-crazy_leens-crazy-resources-retro-resources/ (Turned to grayscale of course) But her iconset lacks armor and a few other icons I needed, so I had to create those myself. Though they're not on the same level as hers: Battlers: They're for sideview and are sort of inspired by Milano cat's battlers: http://www.geocities.co.jp/Milano-Cat/3319/muz/002.html Well I hope someone finds this useful and thanks for checking out my thread. If you don't like anything about the sprites, advice is also appreciated.
  2. I downloaded Resource Hacker and followed a tutorial to change the icon of my .exe file for my game. Now, whenever I double-click on either .exe (Resource Hacker saves another file called "Game_original"), neither file will open, just sits and waits with the loading cursor. If I try to playtest the game in the RPG Maker editor, it will freeze. I do hope I didn't just ruin my game. This is months of work I just can't replicate. EDIT: Just fixed it. If you're reading this and you've stumbled on the same problem, here's how I did it: Create a new RPG Maker project. Copy all of the resource files and the project file for your game-in-progress and replace the new project's files (essentially all of the files except the corrupt .exe). Store the older files someplace else, then open the freshly replaced project. The .exe file and playtest should work! EDIT EDIT: Now I wonder -- this is probably impossible, but -- would it be possible to change the game's .exe icon midway through the game? In my case, I'd like the game to crash itself at a certain point, but when the player tries to log back in, he notices the game icon is not a bright smiley face ... it has become a skull.

    New Iconset

    Hey guys! You may already know me from my other topic: http://www.rpgmakercentral.com/topic/27629-belzarks-resource-madness-battler-tileset-sprite-and-faceset-edits/ I am currently working on an icon set, and wanted some opinions before I continue with it. Please tell me whatever you think looks weird, from colours to shading, anything. As you can see it isn't finished yet, but I'll keep it up to date whenever I finish a few new icons. Thanks a lot!   6. Hello, I realize that changing the icon of the game is against the ToS, however, according to one of the big mods (Shaz), Enterbrain doesn't really care. I'm trying to implement a new icon for the game.exe files using ResHack. I have 3 sizes for the icon: a 16x16, a 32x32, and a 48x48. In a tutorial I was reading, you're supposed to right-click on the icon and select "replace icon." As you can see in this screenshot, there is no "replace icon" action. So, I go to menu bar and select Action>Replace icon and select the icon I want to use. However, I'm only allowed to select one icon, instead of having all 3 selected to replace the three different sizes of the dragon icon. I can't change the different sized icons individually, either. D: Many people who post games here have figured it out, is there anyone here who could help me, please? Thank you for reading!

Open up the MrTS_IconMenu.js plugin in your favorite text editor and scroll down to part where it says "SET ICONS HERE" - follow instructions there. Further down there will be "SET DESCRIPTION HERE" - you can set it there. You can use escape characters in there. E.g. \\c[12] or \\I[93] P.S.   8. So yeah, Maki here! And today I'm going to share something with ya! Well... I don't actually made this, they're just the recolors of the default MV Icons. To be honest, I like the MV icons a bit more than Ace's, since they have these "basic, uniform, generic" look. Also, borders! So I think they're pretty underrated since I've seen quite some peeps expressing distaste or dislike of the icons XD In some of my projects, I'd like to make categorized items, so the mv-style icons are pretty much some big help. And you can use that help too, if you're doing similar thing! As of now, there are only the "Commodity" icons, such as food and ingredients. I made 20 color variants of all 25 in the default iconset. Pick which colors that suit your need! If this garners enough support (and/or I got the determination to do so), I'll continue into the other icon categories. As of this writing, I'm working on Weapons and certain Armors because my current projects need them, so I can (almost) guarantee a second wave XD Some of the icons (Preview, for actual working sheet download the archive from the provided link): Usage Screenie: Term of Use: 1.   9. So yeah, I have a request. In my newest project, one of my character got caught in a situation where he must fight without any weapon in his hand. And then, his senpai, who is known as a badass user of improbable weapons come in and throw an awl/ice breaker to him, while she fought with her trusted gas pipe. While MV already has the pipe icon and weapon, there's no awl. That's why I'm requesting this XD It's the usual awl/ice breaker, with wooden handle and metal point. It is used as a stabbing weapon, so it should be on the thrusting motion. It shouldn't be too large, probably a little bit longer than the default dagger. I'm mostly looking for the sideview weapon, although an MV-styled Icon would allso be nice XD As for appearance, it kinda looks like the screenie below, but with a wooden handle and more "mundane" look.

    Who do i credit for this icon set?

    I apologise that this is most likely posted in the wrong forum section, but I do not know where to post this. A long time ago, back on the Rpg Maker VX Forums, there was this ultimate Icon Set published. Today... and at this minute, I managed to call 'icon' from file As you already notice that the icon is slightly bigger than the regular iconset. Yes, it's true since the size is 32 x 32 while the regular iconset is 24 for each icon. So, how do you gonna call the icon?
