  1. Hi everyone, I've got a site up with over 2000 tracks of free music and sound effects that you can use in your games. It's all original...all my own work. All I ask is to be credited as indicated on my homepage: http://soundimage.org/ I sincerely hope my tracks are helpful. Any and all comments are welcome and always appreciated. All the best, Eric
  2. I am Sam Foster, a freelance game composer looking for work! I've scored many indie game, film, and animation projects. I compose in many genres. For more info (demo reels, contact info, etc.), visit: http://www.samanthafoster.net If you're interested in custom music, contact me via email or on my website's online contact form. Alternatively, I have a royalty-free music pack available on Bandcamp as well: https://samanthafoster.bandcamp.com/album/royalty-free-tracks-mixed-bag-vol-1
  3. Hello everyone! I've been pouring a lot of effort into my game's soundtrack over the last year, but very few people have heard any of it. Big Friggin' Magical Adventure's music is geared to match the cute and whimsical style I'm going for, and I want to make sure they suit it. Most of these songs have been developing in my head for decades, since I was forced into music lessons as a kid - nice to finally get them made! These were all made in LMMS - please don't use any of these for a project, they are meant for my game only - I'm just hoping to get some feedback! So, here are forty songs from the WIP OST, which is probably only half the soundtrack but the important ones are ready. These are the unmastered versions, and anything can still be tweaked; speed, instruments, melody, or whatever. If anyone wants to comment on the songs, how suited they sound to their descriptions and such, or point out if something could sound better, then I'd be much obliged! Or just have a listen and see what you think. Links to each song on my above their descriptions, best open them in a new tab, and I'll put them in spoilers since there's so many. Main Themes Familiars Towns Loot Dungeons Questline I: Fate of the Future Questline II: Unnatural Horrors Questline III: Who Holds the Power Whew! OK, so that's most of what I've done so far. Thank you so much to anyone that took the time to listen, and any kind of feedback is welcome!
  4. Scythuz

Scythuz Music & Sound Effects Design

Hello, I'm Scythuz and I am a professional freelancer who specialises in music and sound effects and ambience design. I have been working as one for roughly 5 years and have worked on games in various engines from RPG Maker & Gamemaker to Unity & the Unreal Engine. I've worked on everything from small game jam entries to fully fledged steam releases with over 100k copies sold. If you want to bring your game's audio to life, I'm your guy. I will take on pretty much any type of reasonable work within the above fields and you can hear some of my work right here! Music Portfolio: Sound Design Portfolio: Coming soon! Past commissions/projects: Please check out my soundcloud sets page to see the projects that I am currently allowed to share work for, feel free to ask for examples in specific styles. https://soundcloud.com/you/sets If you like what you hear, please consider hiring me! My prices are as follows: $20 per hour for all music, sound design and audio related work. OR alternatively: $100 per minute for music. Revision charges will apply, please detail what you want properly and provide references that closely match what you want. Example hourly pricings: Most simple pieces of 2 minutes long music will usually take 4 to 6 hours. More complex themes, or themes longer than 2 minutes will cost more due to taking longer to create. Sound design work takes a lot less time, it's not unusual to see me do 5-15 sounds in an hour. Menu sounds are even quicker than this. Budgeting, inquiries and free sample tracks If you're not sure whether you can afford me or not, or simply want to compare my prices to other people more easily, please feel free to approach me with a budget, track list and specific style in mind (youtube links are great for this). Work can be spread out over many months or taken on all at once. I will happily help with any inquiries you might have and I may even have time to give you a short sample track snippet. Be aware that this would be an incomplete track of a short length (less than a minute) and only serves to give you a taste of what it's like to work with me, how good a fit I will be for your game and a way to gauge pricing more accurately if there is uncertainty. Thanks for checking me out, I look forward to working with you!

    Raven's Musical Roost

Heya there, folks! I've not been present here in some time, but now that I am back in some capacity, I've decided to share some of my music, as musical composition is indeed one of the skills that I have under my wing. I am going to start by sharing two songs for an upcoming game that I am working on. At a later point, I will likely share more! Welcome to Cuvier: This is the theme song of the first town/stage, Cuvier. I used the Donkey Kong Country soundfont as well as some recordings of my voice. Welcome to Toco: This is the theme song of the second town/stage, Toco. I used the Donkey Kong Country soundfont as well as some recordings of my voice.
  10. BackAlleySnowma

    In search for a team

Hello there, I'm your Back-Alley's Snowman here in search for a team to work with on my free project. It's a funny little game about a protagonist that was thrown of a place called Demon Lord's company by his boss. Landing into a nearby trash can, he meets a woman there named Mao who convinces him to go back and convince his boss to give him his job back. After the adventure begins imagination is the limit. Our party must pass through the many floors of the company. Defeat enemies, solve puzzles, find keys and companions and overall make it to the top floor. That's the synopsis. I'm the writer so there are many things I lack. I need: - Pixel artist (Sprites)(Open) - Pixel artist (Backgrounds) (Open) - Composer(Open) If you're interested please comment or contact me at my discord: nero#3104 I'm using RPG Maker MV. Thank you for your time.

It will be easiest to contact me in youtube, username donadavs. If you TOTALLY want more music by me I also write some higher res music in FL Studio (start from the bottom of the playlist if you want to hear the better ones) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9Gn1oGL2M-v6CBUI9ne-bliK_KSlEB6c
  15. Now, this is likely a contentious subject, but for me, it's fairly simple. That said, there are a lot of games out there that have recognizable, licensed music that is (mostly) available to the public. I could make a list of them, but that would take a long time to do because you'll find this music in so many different genres of games, and this has been a thing since the mid 90's, which saw a big jump after CD audio inclusion became popular. The two main questions I wanted to ask are... 1) What do you think of games having this kind of music in them? 2) Are you planning/wanting to do the same with your gamedev projects? My answers: 1) It's a mixed bag as far as end results go, but in general it's fine by me. 2) As long as it's copyleft/public domain, it's possible. Otherwise, I may use them in building stages but never final releases and not public releases either.

    Song Title

Pretty simple. Take a word or syllable (or a combination of the two) from the song title of the previous post and make a new song title. Remember to include the artist, or if it is traditional, to say so. Examples: > There's No Secrets This Year - Silversun Pickups becomes > No Way Back - Foo Fighters >If You Want Peace, Prepare For War - Children of Bodom becomes You - Bad Religion Note: Titles that have swearing in them (this is not my beef) must be as mildly censored as possible. e.e (I hate to be that person) Well, without further ado, let us start. Welcome to Paradise - Green Day (Green Day Rock Band)

  22. Ruedefaux

Hello~ I'm Ruedefaux. Primarily I'm an illustrator, but for the past few years I've been experimenting with music making under the name Lolistomp. I'm not too used to sharing my music so openly since it's just something fun I do at the moment, but why not? Currently I make theme songs and such for my own characters as it helps me with ideation process when I draw and/or write stories, and sometimes I make songs with the intention of possibly using them for future projects when I learn the fundamentals. I'm heavily inspired by the hardcore genre, Gabber, along with retro game music-- so my stuff tends to lean towards the noisy and repetitive side for the most (definitely not within everyone's tastes LOL but that's okay with me). Sometimes I experiment loosely with other genres as well. Here's a few of my favourites so far: EDIT: huh... probably shouldve considered the order I listed these songs due to their images, but I'm too amused to switch around the last two... :')
  23. My philosophy: There seems to be a sad trend in incidental music (music for games, movies, shows, etc.) for what I call "extreme ambience," that is to say that the intent is to make the music so far in the background you barely notice it. Now, don't get me wrong, a more ambient soundtrack is definitely better for genres such as horror or suspense, but outside of that, the best soundtracks in history are the ones that provided a character all their own. What would "Star Wars" be without that massive orchestral fanfare to open up with? Would it really be a Mario game without those catchy platforming melodies that you can't help but hum to as you leap and run through each level? All of my music--save for horror commissions--is based around the same formula that made the classic game soundtracks of yesteryear work: a strong melodic background that conjures up imagery and will stick in your players' heads after they're done, giving your game a truly memorable soundtrack that they'll associate with your game forevermore. My influences: Nobuo Uematsu--the guy behind Final Fantasy music for those who don't know--is my single biggest influence in terms of game music in particular, though my focus on imagery-inspiring music comes from Koji Kondo (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc). Outside game music, I find inspiration in the works of Romantic composers such as Tchaikovsky, as well as film composers such as Max Steiner, John Williams, and Danny Elfman. My business model: You give me details of what you're looking for, and I'll do my best to make something to fit. I'll give you a free preview of the work--if you like, I'll even give you a preview of the work while it's still in-progress so you can hear what I have so far--and if you have ANY reservations or complaints at all, I'll immediately fix them in whatever way you want. I will never charge you for a product you're not 100% satisfied with! And my commissioned work thus far (NOT available for use by anyone other than the commissioner): My list of rules: Try and give me a specific idea of what you want beforehand. For example, what is the context of the music (Love theme, Sad music, Town music, Character theme)? Is there something specific about the context to take into consideration (Tragic/happy love story, Village/City/Port town, Hero/Villain/Comic relief character)? What kind of instruments are you looking for? The more specific you can get, the faster I can get it done and the better the quality will be! I only accept paypal, all contact via PM. Use of my original stuff is free for non-commercial use only. If you want to use it in a commercial project, you will need to pay for it (see below). I reserve the right to put any composition I write up on my Youtube channel. The channel serves as a portfolio of sorts; if you don't want the piece to be publicly available, you will need to let me know in advance. That said, if you allow it, I will of course give credit to you and your game so that other people can't steal it for their own project. I don't work on strict timetables. Good music can't be rushed; if you need it in a certain amount of time, I will do my best to have something for you to hear within the general area of when you want it, but I can't guarantee with absolute certainty that it will be completely finished by then. You MUST give me credit (as Casey Kendall/CoGDork) in the credits of your game. This is obvious, really. Pricing is as follows (all prices in USD): Commercial License for Original Music (per track): $5 Short jingles (10 seconds or less): $3 Small ensembles (1-3 instruments): $5 Medium ensembles (4-8 instruments): $7 Large ensembles/Full Orchestra (9+ instruments): $15 NEW BUNDLE DISCOUNTS! 5-Jingle Bundle: $10 (instead of $15) 5-Small Bundle: $15 (instead of $25) Commercial Collection License Bundle (use ALL of my original stuff in your commercial project): $20 All of these examples are for looping pieces. If you want a full-length epic theme that doesn't loop, the price is negotiable based on the number of instruments and the length of the piece. If you want to commission a full soundtrack, that is also negotiable.
  24. I'm not sure why this isn't already up, or if it is, my bad for double posting. Here's a corner where we share our favorite songs, regardless of genre. And no, we promise we won't judge too much! Rules Do post one song per post, and give others a chance to showcase their favorite songs. No profanity in your songs, as much as possible. Censored silly sounds are fine. Likewise, try to cut down on suggestive material. Preferably, don't repost the same song as somebody else. This is especially easy if you listen to indie. And let's get started with one of mine:
