Hello, I'm Scythuz and I am a professional freelancer who specialises in music and sound effects and ambience design. I have been working as one for roughly 5 years and have worked on games in various engines from RPG Maker & Gamemaker to Unity & the Unreal Engine. I've worked on everything from small game jam entries to fully fledged steam releases with over 100k copies sold. If you want to bring your game's audio to life, I'm your guy. I will take on pretty much any type of reasonable work within the above fields and you can hear some of my work right here! Music Portfolio: Sound Design Portfolio: Past commissions/projects: Please check out my soundcloud sets page to see the projects that I am currently allowed to share work for, feel free to ask for examples in specific styles. https://soundcloud.com/you/sets If you like what you hear, please consider hiring me! My prices are as follows: $15 per hour for all music, sound design and audio related work. OR alternatively: $30 per minute for music. Revision charges will apply, please detail what you want properly and provide references that closely match what you want. Example hourly pricings: Most simple pieces of 2 minutes long music will usually take 3 to 5 hours, that's just $45 to $75 per track. More complex themes, or themes longer than 2 minutes will cost more due to taking longer to create. Sound design work takes a lot less time, it's not unusual to see me do 5-15 sounds in an hour. Menu sounds are even quicker than this. Budgeting, inquiries and free sample tracks If you're not sure whether you can afford me or not, or simply want to compare my prices to other people more easily, please feel free to approach me with a budget, track list and specific style in mind (youtube links are great for this). Work can be spread out over many months or taken on all at once. I will happily help with any inquiries you might have and I may even have time to give you a short sample track snippet. Be aware that this would be an incomplete track of a short length (less than a minute) and only serves to give you a taste of what it's like to work with me, how good a fit I will be for your game and a way to gauge pricing more accurately if there is uncertainty. Thanks for checking me out, I look forward to working with you!

Pretty simple. Take a word or syllable (or a combination of the two) from the song title of the previous post and make a new song title. Remember to include the artist, or if it is traditional, to say so. Examples: > There's No Secrets This Year - Silversun Pickups becomes > No Way Back - Foo Fighters >If You Want Peace, Prepare For War - Children of Bodom becomes You - Bad Religion Note: Titles that have swearing in them (this is not my beef) must be as mildly censored as possible. e.e (I hate to be that person) Well, without further ado, let us start. Hello~ I'm Ruedefaux. Primarily I'm an illustrator, but for the past few years I've been experimenting with music making under the name Lolistomp. I'm not too used to sharing my music so openly since it's just something fun I do at the moment, but why not? Currently I make theme songs and such for my own characters as it helps me with ideation process when I draw and/or write stories, and sometimes I make songs with the intention of possibly using them for future projects when I learn the fundamentals. I'm heavily inspired by the hardcore genre, Gabber, along with retro game music-- so my stuff tends to lean towards the noisy and repetitive side for the most (definitely not within everyone's tastes LOL but that's okay with me). Sometimes I experiment loosely with other genres as well. Here's a few of my favourites so far: EDIT: huh... probably shouldve considered the order I listed these songs due to their images, but I'm too amused to switch around the last two... :')

My philosophy: There seems to be a sad trend in incidental music (music for games, movies, shows, etc.) for what I call "extreme ambience," that is to say that the intent is to make the music so far in the background you barely notice it. Now, don't get me wrong, a more ambient soundtrack is definitely better for genres such as horror or suspense, but outside of that, the best soundtracks in history are the ones that provided a character all their own. What would "Star Wars" be without that massive orchestral fanfare to open up with? Would it really be a Mario game without those catchy platforming melodies that you can't help but hum to as you leap and run through each level? All of my music--save for horror commissions--is based around the same formula that made the classic game soundtracks of yesteryear work: a strong melodic background that conjures up imagery and will stick in your players' heads after they're done, giving your game a truly memorable soundtrack that they'll associate with your game forevermore. My influences: Nobuo Uematsu--the guy behind Final Fantasy music for those who don't know--is my single biggest influence in terms of game music in particular, though my focus on imagery-inspiring music comes from Koji Kondo (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc). Outside game music, I find inspiration in the works of Romantic composers such as Tchaikovsky, as well as film composers such as Max Steiner, John Williams, and Danny Elfman. My business model: You give me details of what you're looking for, and I'll do my best to make something to fit. I'll give you a free preview of the work--if you like, I'll even give you a preview of the work while it's still in-progress so you can hear what I have so far--and if you have ANY reservations or complaints at all, I'll immediately fix them in whatever way you want. I will never charge you for a product you're not 100% satisfied with! And my commissioned work thus far (NOT available for use by anyone other than the commissioner): My list of rules: Try and give me a specific idea of what you want beforehand. For example, what is the context of the music (Love theme, Sad music, Town music, Character theme)? Is there something specific about the context to take into consideration (Tragic/happy love story, Village/City/Port town, Hero/Villain/Comic relief character)? What kind of instruments are you looking for? The more specific you can get, the faster I can get it done and the better the quality will be! I only accept paypal, all contact via PM. Use of my original stuff is free for non-commercial use only. If you want to use it in a commercial project, you will need to pay for it (see below). I reserve the right to put any composition I write up on my Youtube channel. The channel serves as a portfolio of sorts; if you don't want the piece to be publicly available, you will need to let me know in advance. That said, if you allow it, I will of course give credit to you and your game so that other people can't steal it for their own project. I don't work on strict timetables. Good music can't be rushed; if you need it in a certain amount of time, I will do my best to have something for you to hear within the general area of when you want it, but I can't guarantee with absolute certainty that it will be completely finished by then. You MUST give me credit (as Casey Kendall/CoGDork) in the credits of your game. This is obvious, really. Pricing is as follows (all prices in USD): Commercial License for Original Music (per track): $5 Short jingles (10 seconds or less): $3 Small ensembles (1-3 instruments): $5 Medium ensembles (4-8 instruments): $7 Large ensembles/Full Orchestra (9+ instruments): $15 NEW BUNDLE DISCOUNTS! 5-Jingle Bundle: $10 (instead of $15) 5-Small Bundle: $15 (instead of $25) Commercial Collection License Bundle (use ALL of my original stuff in your commercial project): $20 All of these examples are for looping pieces. If you want a full-length epic theme that doesn't loop, the price is negotiable based on the number of instruments and the length of the piece. If you want to commission a full soundtrack, that is also negotiable.

I'm not sure why this isn't already up, or if it is, my bad for double posting. Here's a corner where we share our favorite songs, regardless of genre. And no, we promise we won't judge too much! Rules Do post one song per post, and give others a chance to showcase their favorite songs. No profanity in your songs, as much as possible. Censored silly sounds are fine. Likewise, try to cut down on suggestive material. Preferably, don't repost the same song as somebody else. This is especially easy if you listen to indie. And let's get started with one of mine:

--- My name's Harriet and I'm a composer of music. I've been composing music for around 2 years, and I'm willing to help you get the video game music you desire. I compose mostly, and pretty much always, orchestral. I do use electronic sounds and modern instruments such as Electric Guitars, synths and drums, but I sometimes blend the two together. Examples Example work from the game soundtrack Yandere Simulator (2017+, YandereDev) The First Tragedy - Example work from the game soundtrack The Legend of Jerry Quiver: Rise of The Dominion (2017+, Ferret Entertainment): Peaceful Melodies Melody for Forests - Character Theme - Character Theme - Battle Melodies Jazz - Metal/Orchestral - Abstract - Route Melodies Creepy - Dark Orchestral - Cheerful - Character Themes Heroic - https://soundcloud.com/spuddyferret/nathans-theme-ost Tragic - https://soundcloud.com/spuddyferret/alices-theme-ost-version Dark - https://soundcloud.com/spuddyferret/monaxias-waltz Cinematic Melodies Music Box/Horror - https://soundcloud.com/spuddyferret/lovers-lullaby Mischievous - https://soundcloud.com/spuddyferret/mischief-little-red-roses Intense Orchestral/Rock - https://soundcloud.com/spuddyferret/battle-of-the-witches-1 Here is how the process works: 1. You send me a PM on this website, and you tell me what you want. You must tell me EVERYTHING about the character/location/subject or the song will not be as good as it possibly can be. Please give me an example of another piece of music that you want your track to sound like. 2. I will send you a basic piano music file with the melody and simple accompaniment. You will then give me feedback on the piece, if you want it to sound different and to have other adjustments. 3. I finish the piece and I will give you the final music track to you in MP3 and in other desired formats. If you would like me to loop your track, please say so. 4. This is all for free. I am here to gain experience, you want some music. No money is required here. Use this form for an easy request: Ferret Entertainment Commission: Name: - Theme/Route/Cinematic/Battle/Peaceful?: - Is your desired piece orchestral?: - Details about Subject (Character/Location etc.): - - - - Desired File Format: - Do you want the Track to loop? - --- Rules 1. I do one client at a time. If you arrive before someone else, you will have top priority. If you ask before I have finished another song, you will be put on a waiting list until I am done. 2. I have the right to decline your request for ANY reason. 3. Two songs at a time. 4. Yes, I will work for any game. I hope I can help you in your video game! Harriet

Hello there! I'm a longtime professional composer and musician. I'm here to show off my work. I'll be updating this thread from time to time. I was inspired to start making music since I was very young, from playing games like Super Mario Bros 3. The catchy, tinny music captivated my ears and my imagination. Some of my biggest musical influences Include Koji Kondo, Jun Ishikawa, Aivi Tran, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Loreena McKennitt, John Williams, Joel Chernoff, and many others. The biggest single thing to influence my works are music from early Kirby games (Characterized by their heavy usage of rhythmic arpeggios in their music). If you have any questions, please ask away. Some frequently asked questions: Here is my portfolio preview. Please enjoy! I'll be adding to this thread periodically with some old favorites and some new uploads.

How to make a perfect looping BGM for RPG Maker VX ACE (OGG Vorbis) Credits : Shu Introduction Have you ever wanted your battle music to play the intro once, and then loop only the main part, like most Final Fantasy battle music? That's exactly what this tutorial will teach you how to do. Required Program Audacity 2.0, the free audio editing tool. Editing the BGM Open your desired BGM in Audacity. Find the portion that you want to loop by using the selection tool and zoom tool and carefully listening to where the song should begin looping, and where the song should restart to the beginning of the loop. These two points in the song MUST sound exactly the same! It is recommended that the loop point is loud, because trying to loop on a quiet, sensitive part of a song is more noticeable and harder to make it seamless. Once you know where the points are, select the point where the loop should begin, and then go to Tracks -> Add Label at Selection. Enter "Loop Start." Do the same for where you want the loop to restart, and label it as "Loop End." You can test to see if it loops seamlessly by highlighting the area inside these two labels and shift+clicking the play button. Next, thou shall go to the bottom of the program, where you shall see some drop-down menus. Click a drop-down menu and set it to "samples" like shown in this image: and then make sure that "Length" is checked instead of "End" like so: Now, make sure that you have selected the area of the song from the Loop Start label to the Loop End label, and then go to File -> Export... Name it, and make sure the File Type is set to Ogg Vorbis Files. Click Save. This is the most important step! An Edit Metadata window should appear. At the bottom, click add until there are two blank tags. Double click the first blank tag and type in "LOOPSTART". In the second blank tag, type in "LOOPLENGTH". Look at the bottom of Audacity to see a number under Selection Start. Insert this number as the value for LOOPSTART without commas. Do the same for LOOPLENGTH using the number under Length. Click OK, import your new ogg file inside your RPG Maker VX, go to Sound Test, and click Play! If it loops exactly where you wanted it to, then you have not failed. Go forth, and make awesomeness.

So here is something I was working on, mostly for the express purpose of playing around with meter. I had a little tune to go with it but I kinda lost it trying to figure out what the notes where? I should have recorded me singing it to help I guess? I think the meter of the tune was intended to be something like: ♩♩♩ ♫♩♫ (rest) ♩♩♩ ♫♩♫ (rest) ♩♩♩ ♩♩♩ ♩♩♩ ♫♩♫ (rest) 7+7+9+4/4? Okay maybe it wasn't that? I donno what do you guys think? Does this work as a good poem/song? Edit: Rest symbols don't work here... oh well.

Hiya everyone! I'm on the search for a composer for my game! What is the game like? It's a strange game. It will be an RPG, so there's that. I'd rather not reveal much through here, I'd give you more information in an email or otherwise. What style of music? Ideally, strange music to match the strange game. The songs would be around 1-2 minutes in length. The following are encompassed in the mesh of genres that would be used for the songs: Ambient Horror Light electronica Jumbled nonsense Some orchestral elements I don't trust you, are there any other games you've made? I made a decently popular game Party 2. Well then, what's your budget? My budget is flexible, given the flexible nature of the amount of songs/shortness of the songs. I think I'd like to pay by the minute. $8 USD is reasonable I think. But again, I'm flexible. If you don't have a paypal I will rip my eyes out with two rusty sewing needles. Relax. I have a paypal, and that is what I intend to pay with. Well I'm sold. How should I contact you? Hit me up with a PM, we'll further discuss things there. Don't bring any sewing needles. I look forward to hearing from you!

(This may be the wrong topic to discuss this in, if so, I apologise). I'm using the Steam version of Rpg Maker MV. So, I've imported a few tracks from the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RPG Maker MV\dlc\BaseResource\audio\bgm specifically, 03_A_Gentle_Breeze.ogg I don't see any credits file in this folder, and it seems to be something that comes with MV, but just in case, wanted to make sure, is this a file that needs to be credited?
