Hello there! I'm a longtime professional composer and musician. I'm here to show off my work. I'll be updating this thread from time to time. I was inspired to start making music since I was very young, from playing games like Super Mario Bros 3. The catchy, tinny music captivated my ears and my imagination. Some of my biggest musical influences Include Koji Kondo, Jun Ishikawa, Aivi Tran, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Loreena McKennitt, John Williams, Joel Chernoff, and many others. The biggest single thing to influence my works are music from early Kirby games (Characterized by their heavy usage of rhythmic arpeggios in their music). If you have any questions, please ask away. Some frequently asked questions: Here is my portfolio preview. Please enjoy! I'll be adding to this thread periodically with some old favorites and some new uploads.

Hello there everyone, i've posted a few times here and there, but i've never really saught to openly advertise myself or show my face that much, mainly because im somewhat shy. ^^ I want to try to introduce myself without sounding like im bragging...So i think in the only way to do that, so people don't think i'm lying just to make myself look good. So i'm going to screenshot what they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. I'd rather screenshot these, instead of openly saying people say my music is within the AAA Ranks, because then people would automatically assume im an arrogant person with no particular talent and i have an over headed ego... Because AAA is like when Final Fantasy's music was REALLY good, you thought of good video game music and you instantly brought up Final Fantasy. Those times. Here is my soundcloud, where i upload my own video game music. https://soundcloud.com/insydnis This is where i upload my electronica. https://soundcloud.com/djobscure Coming from my own point of view on myself, i don't think im THAT good. xD but hey, as long as the fans are happy with the music then that's all that should really matter right? I have a passion for making music and i love to inspire other musicians! And i'm very linient with the distributions. i will gladly let you use any of it, so long as you give me proper credit! I'll even work for you for FREE (You descide wheather to pay me or not.) I'm just looking for more opinions and possibly feedback and meet and greet new people with interests in music and to introduce myself and meet and talk to people, hopefully make some friends! Thanks for reading all of this -
Hi, my name is James, and I'm from Ontario, Canada. I'm currently tackling my first game, tentatively named Crash, about a post-apocalyptic world brought upon by a global economic collapse. Imagine Fallout, but with a lot more realistic ideas, I suppose. One of my major goals of the project is to create a somewhat to scale and somewhat accurate depiction (this is with artistic license included, of course) of Canada's capital, Ottawa. I'm also an avid musician! I have a handful of records and live shows under my belt, and I've played in bands of all kinds - I've played in 100+ piece orchestras and 30+ piece jazz bands with my high school music program, and more rock bands than I can count. Punk, metalcore, hardcore, reggae, gospel, country - I've played a lot over time, mannn. My main instruments are bass and guitar. I also just got the hang of famitracker, so I've been using that to make music for my game. It's nice to meet you all.

Hi RPGMaker community! When I was first perusing the site I got so excited by the discussions about design and such that I completely forgot to post any introductions. So, ummm, who IS this guy? I've been dabbling in RPG Maker over the past decade (starting with RPGM2k I think..) and have had a blast thinking about games I could make, the half-dozen half projects I have made, and lamenting about the games I should have made. The closest I got to finishing anything was a small game called Hookshalk where you play the undead servant of a powerful overlord tasked with bewitching remains in order to make an undead army. It was more of an eventing study than anything else, but I was pretty pleased with it. Back in my real life, I got a biology degree and then spent a year abroad as a teacher before realizing that I didn't want to be a teacher, couldn't get a fun job with JUST a biology degree, and decided to turn my energies back to my other lifelong passion: music. Enter my friends at Flying Helmet Games (http://www.eonaltar.flyinghelmetgames.com/) They're a cool bunch of indie developers with a pile of AAA game experience and they needed music for a demo, cheap. Sounds good to me! And I got my first taste of writing music in the video game industry. Fast-forward to now (I'm sure I've lost many of you already, I apologize for my verbosity) and I'm working in the East Kootenays of British Columbia as an industrial lab tech, writing music for a small mobile game, being a husband and dad, and dreaming about my next RPGMaker endeavour. If you need some music for a project, help with design, dialogue, or math-heavy events, PM me. I'd love to lend an ear and a fresh perspective. In the meantime I'll be orbiting the community poking my nose into your posts and projects, and perhaps occasionally posting the odd topic and reply myself. This community presents a wonderful, vibrant first impression. I'm excited to discover more and to become more involved. Keep creating, Daniel

Hi RPG fans, I used to mess around with rpg makers about a decade ago in high school, mostly making character sprites and designing towns and maps. I tend to put a lot of attention to detail in my work, and I'm not satisfied until a game takes on a character of its own and is immersive. Anyway, I'm really just a passionate hobbyist who's willing to collaberate with others. Lemme know if you need an artist for your game or if you have any other questions. Also, I especially enjoy RPGs with battle systems similar to Final Fantasy, Zelda/ARPG, Star Ocean 2, and Roguelikes. -Rishky

Greetings to all here at rpgmakervxace.net! To start off, I used to program BASIC text games and graphics from 1991 to 1998, tried to learn PASCAL my senior year in high school, but never got the syntax or how to incorporate my thought flow into complex equations, which is mainly why I'm here. I have a basic knowledge of eventing in RM VX Ace, but scripting is what perplexes and intrigues me. I, like many other newbies, had found a deal on steam and had a decent idea to start making an RM game, however the depth I have found in others' scripting capabilities, to "break" the maker-- make it do things it wouldn't handle before, has me drooling for more experience so I can bring new ideas to my concept game. Things that catch my interests are ABS engines, like XAS and Khas' ARC engine and SAS scripts... the fact that scripting in rgss3 can really change what goes on in our creations gets me all crazy excited. The use of others' scripts is fine when they allow free with crediting, but I would also love to get into scripting in rgss3 to tailor specific mechanics to my project(s). I have played around enough to know how to set up basic graphics and stuff, and usually find other members posts to answer my questions without personally inquiring, but there are certain mechanics I want in my project that I'm not entirely sure how to approach. I'm working on hatching a project that will eventually look mostly like it wasn't made in RM, because a lot of my time is being put into creating all original assets. My friends and I make music, and most of us have some real visual art talent, so not to knock ppl for using stock assets, but they really won't help what I'm looking to accomplish! Well that's enough jibber-jabber from me, really just looking for some connections with this community so maybe someone could help point me in a direction in building my scripting. I plan on starting the tutorials, which look very educational, and I want to say thanks to everyone here who have original ideas and useful feedback, you'd not heard from me up until now, but believe me, I've already read and learned from many of you. I like galv's point of view and find a lot of his work useful and inspiring (personally), Victor's scripts just intimidate me (lol, but for real), Yami... just to name a few more who's work ignites my interests. I really want to open up on some details of my project, but want to make sure I don't disclose much, as there is no protection on my intellectual property yet, concept or otherwise. I will say it is inspired by my real-life day-job lol... as if THAT sounds exciting.... Ah-- Just decided it's time to say hi, join in here, and maybe I'll get more of my project's details out into the light (in the proper forum section) when it feels right! ;]

Greetings~ I am an artist, writer, planner & musician interested in helping a solid project or starting one up... art: http://acrology.blogspot.com/ music: http://www.reverbnation.com/hiraether Skills: World Builder: Natural environments with focus on creating niches for real ecosystems. Synthetic techno punk when needed. Built in every RPG Maker, favoring VX, made several incomplete games. Made some huge worlds for Neverwinter Nights & NwN2. love it. World Map 500x500, showing 25% of total map : Systems Theory: I can't code but I understand how to implement the i ching into a time cycle. I am interested in getting it to make roles like D&D, but for time / relationships. VERY interested in figuring out a tarot system to top ultima's. Played multiple mmorpg, everything square & or Enix ever made (lvl 90 Brd, Rng, Blu FFXI), Neverwinters, breath or fires, lufias, etc. etc.. I know what makes a good gaming experience & I need to make something because all the new games fall short; making me sad. ;-; Writer: My favorite fantasy books are The Wheel of Time (waiting on towers =P), Every Tolkien Book, & The Hitchhiker's Guide. IRL I dig Kerouac, McKenna, James Joyce, Dostoevsky, Huxley, etc. I write automatically, so poems, lore, bard songs are specialties. I have a real love for planning epic stories on mindmaps & organizing them elementally. I especially want to speak for the disenfranchized poor in war-torn countries, the mages, the shamans & the druids. I am steeped in world mythos; irish, chinese, japanese, hebrew, buddhism, taoism, tarot, alchemy, etc. Crowley especially interests me: I actually own & have read 777 & Gemantria. I wield it like a philosopher's rosettastone of coincidencia oppositorum. Parallax Artist: these take about 30 minutes in zbrush. They are not photoshopped and are raw to show the Baldur's like style. http://3.bp.blogspot...orest path1.BMP With a little touch-up, texturing, lighting, render & photoedit, these can get very high quality. I like bryce for render lights.. I will post the final later . Illustrator: and i love to draw without the computer.. my drawing is automatic & unplanned inspiration . Yoshitaka Amano is my art hero. More art here: http://acrology.blogspot.com/ Bard Sketch: I cannot draw characters with precision unless they're 8-bit. I am suited landscapes, backgrounds, nature, devices, gears, etc. I currently do NOT draw characters or monsters graphically, but would enjoy illustrating concept work instead or learning how to make them virtually without taking days. Electronica Musician, a.k.a. Hiraether: http://www.reverbnation.com/hiraether Gamer music, electro alternative style. Windows 7 promo song "Vagabond 242 ADHD Indulgence" & MySpace promo song "Gnomish March (live)" artist 2010. Should be everything. Check out my links for more; Nothing for sale, just using them as resumes. All my music & pictures are free to listen to / view. I would really enjoy doing a High Fantasy RPG work in the vein of Dragon Quest, but I also love (TB)SRPG like Baldur's, Dwarf Fortress, Civilization IV Fall Further From Heaven and would be more then happy to be on a project of the same caliber. My render style is very conducive to a map like Baldur's, but higher resolution. A combo JRPG system with SRPG elements / maps would be a great hybrid. I CANNOT do all of these things at once, alone. So I must focus a couple jobs, or work with a team where I can skip around & work on different aspects with people. I am currently unemployed & applying for disability... so I should have some time on my hands. I use RPG maker VX currently & I just got Ace, so I'm learning... actually that's what lead me here. ( )b Please contact me if I fit your team or you have an idea so good we should build a team. -- Oneiromancer Crystal Chamber (parallax):
