Purchased DLC or assets are not allowed for this contest) Contest Sign-ups: December 11, 12AM CST to December 14, 11:59PM CST Contest Start: December 15, 12AM CST Contest End: December 17, 11:59PM CST Submissions are due in up to 24 hours after contest end time (December 18, 11:59PM Local Time). Rules: -Please submit your game before the specified time-frame. If you have questions, please ask ahead of time. -Deadlines for submissions are at 11:59PM for your local time! -Please keep links valid until judging is over. If a link is invalid come judging time, this will get your entry disqualified. -Games that have problems loading (due to missing assets, etc) will be disqualified. Game bugs, if minor, will be allowed. -You are the only one allowed to work on your game. You may have people playtest, but nothing more. You can use resources made by others/public resources. -No assets are to be made prior to contest start. -No copyrighted material without the express permissions of the copyright owner.   2. Hi, I am using Arevulopapo's particle system. Is it possible to add a Z value or something to that nature? The reason is because I am using the Game Time + Night/Day v1.6.2a by V.M of D.T and I'm trying to get the particles to appear during the dark.. Argh brain so dead, how do I set an event to show between 6 am and 6pm and say something then not be there from 6pm - 6 am , using on first page conditional branch Script: GameTime::hour? >= 18 or GameTime::hour? < 6 @> Control Self Switch: A =ON : Else @> Control Self Switch: A =OFF Parallel Process second page is same thing but with a text saying something, problem there is it will just spam the same thing over and over seeming the text is in a parallel process, so I can remedy this by putting in another switch to a page set to auto run that can be talked to but then how do i loop it back to switching off once its past 6pm pretty much just want a old lady to be sitting bya pond during the day and not being there during the night, Have lights that turn on and off depending on the time, but I can't seem to work out how to do it for this event doesn't help is 12 am post NYE Edited for script link http://pastebin.com/UKA0n75g
  4. I have been using a common event to use a basic day and night cycle, for opportunities during my game to take place during different times of the day, however, I have run into some issues. 1. I have attempted to change bgm and bgs on the same map as the cycle transitions. Say on a basic hiking trail the time changes from day to night, the music should change from an ambient bgs track to crickets chirping at night. Unfortunately the music stays the same despite being a parallel process. 2. An additional quarrel I have encountered is the fact that upon changing to the next map that follows a similar cycle to the next, the previous map's music is retained rather than changing. Therefore I willfully request a kind of script that will function that accurately changes the bgm or bgs from map to map, and flows with the cycle of time on the same scene. I don't have any RGSS3 script experience sadly Pics: I appreciate your help
  5. Jonnaz Day-Night Demo

    Hello world! This is my first ever blog entry, so hey guys... if there's anyone who would read this that is. Well, I better introduce myself by first saying that I have a strong interest in 3D animation as that's where I want to be in the future and so for anyone interested, here's some of that stuff - http://www.youtube.com/user/Flyingfoxenator Anyway, back to rpg... I just recently got VX Ace and joined this community so on my profile I'm classed as a newbie, yay haha. ...buuut I have had experience with the previous versions as well and I must say that Ace is such a huge and awesome improvement, thankyou so much Enterbrain So of course I've been playing round with all their new features (yea I know, it's like a year old now, but new to me anyway). Everything about this program is just mouth wateringly good :'D Then after coming on here, I've just been looking up all your guys awesome scripts. Still haven't quite played round with those yet (also please don't mix me up with a scripter... sure I understand it, but I can't write any myself... yet). One of them was Khas Awesome Light Effects script (http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/topic/1003-khas-awesome-light-effects/?hl=khas) Now for some reason I looked at it and thought meh, then carried on. Later on, I saw some images on deviant art on lights and saw things I hadn't even seen or thought of before that would now change the way I use RPG Maker. I had always avoided night scenes, probably because I couldn't get the lighting to look as good as it did during day. but after seeing these images, I figured I would first draw out the scene in RPG Maker, then printscreen and edit in photoshop to transform it into night. So that's exactly what I did for my first test below. I then created a tile set out of that. Which technically is just that image spread across the space of a tile set. and during the process of this, I looked back at Khas Lights, and just realized how awesome they really are... so yea, I can understand why awesome has to be in his title lol. Just the way the shadows move is incredible, thanks Khas! So just thought I'd post the demo.   6. Hey everyone, I finaly decided to join the community because I thought I could help people out in the hardships of making games. (Of course I'm still a noob myself, And this is my very first post so don't ding me to bad XD) Now I've been playing around with RMVXA a lot lately and while i was randomly making a BS test run of a enemy attack system. I came to the conclusion that I wanted to actualy try to make a back story. So I ended up making a back story and then I ended up deciding I wanted to make a game! So I pondered for a while and wanted to add all kinds of crazy features and nick nacks and what not. The only problem is that I know no codeing of any sort at all (You know, with the scripting tab) However I noticed I was decent at comeing up with events on the event editor. Well I wanted to add a bit of demention to my game and add that little touch I don't think a lot of people have. I wanted to make a day and night transition system. Now at first I was thinking "Holy crap, this is going to be very complicated. There will be thousands of variables, a hundred triggers and pages and pages of scripting!" But fortunatly, through some crafty thinking and my ability to over analize things, my transition system was born. (Also note that, from what I understand, RMVX works just like RMVXA so this can be implemented into that program as well, though I've never tried to do it myself.) Now that's just a glance at how the map looks. It gets right to the point. The man at the bottom turns the cycle on. After a certain amount of time the cycle will then tell you that it's going to be night. And finaly, this picture shows how it looks after the transition is made. (After a fade in and out transistion.) The tutorial comes with full step by step instructions that tell you just about everything you need to know and hopefuly eases the frustration you could of have had if they weren't there.
