I took a break from my project and went to my secondary project, but now I'm back to my primary project. PLANS Side Quests: Going to focus a bit on side quests Drawing: Trying to learn how to draw for the project Enemy Graphic Reform: Redoing enemy graphics once I get good at drawing. Leveling rewards: As we know, there are some games that gives you rewards based on you level. As a result, in some of these games, people don't do certain quests until they reach the desired level to retrieve the best of whatever it is. In my project, I will attempt to test the idea of reward items (such as weapons and armor) scaling with you as you level up.

FINISHED Unmentioned Plans In-Battle Enemy Dialogue: Certain enemies will have dialogues during battle. Also, to avoid the large blocks of dialogues, in some cases, parts of it was integrated in the battles.Conventional Enemies: I noticed I inserted a lot of undead/demon/angel/spirit type enemies of which Harder Bosses: One of the complaints about my demo (which was very long ago, I know), was that the bosses were a little too easy. That has been changed. PLANS Side Quests: Going to focus a bit on side quests Drawing: Trying to learn how to draw for the project Enemy Graphic Reform: Redoing enemy graphics once I get good at drawing. Hey nosy blog reader~ Just found my old concepts for one of my main charries from Tales of Eadris and wanted to give you all a laugh. This also shows my lack of creativity... ToE is a medievil-esque fantasy genre RPG. This was my first ever concept for Leina, a quiet girl. Very meh. Okay, yea, bad design haha. My next design was; I like this design to be honest, but considering the game type/genre... this outfit doesn't really fit in... Also, can you tell I like Tomb Raider? xD My final design was; Her entire design changed, as well as her race. She originally was a simple human, but became an Elven hunter/thief. I also had a similar... phase... with Faeona. Her original design was stupid. I don't have the old file anymore, but trust me on it. She looks better now. Marina's design came so nicely. I got her design pretty well based for her first design and her final was just a detailing of the original. I love Marina <3 What similar stages did you guys come across? Are you still developing your characters? What characters are you having most trouble with? Is there a favourite amongst your cast you just can't help but like more than the rest? Find out next time, on Dragon Ball Z!

Here is my progress and plans for World of Chaos. Note: Imma do this on the 1st of every Month NEW FEATURES Weapon stats reform There will also be a reform for the weapons. Some are too strong and some are too weak. I also have to reform the rarity levels (Equipment set, legendary, legendary artifact, and unique (new one)). Damage Formula Reform (Completed) The game now uses a 1:(2/3) ratio instead of the default 1:0.5 ratio. Equipment differentiation I want two-handed blunts and blades to coexist, but I want them to be different somehow (atleast,t hat is how it started). The idea I have is: Two-Handed Blunt Weapon: Ignore 15% Armor (for melee attacks only); +5% MP Cost Rate One-Handed Blunt Weapon: Ignores 3% Armor Two-Handed Blade Weapons: +30% Melee Resistance; + 5% MP Cost Rate One-Handed Blades: +6% Melee Resistance Daggers: +10% EVA Bows: +10% CRI Scythes (Battlemage weapon): Ignore 7.5% Armor, 7.5% Melee Resistance, -20% AGI (Or I might replace the AGI penalty with the +5% MP Cost) Battlestaves: People who use these will be able to equip shields (Scythes still cannot). +6% Melee Resistance Staves: -10% MP Cost Rate, -75% Cooldown (I may or may not add a +5% weakness to melee penalty) Shields: +10% Magical/Ranged resistance. PLANS Quest System Reform Still have to add some quests over. Enemy Stats Reform Due to my damage formula reform, many enemies are doing little to no damage. PROGRESS 14 Quests have been finished. No Quests are in progress. Roughly 381 skills Roughly 99 items Roughly 121 Weapons Roughly 94 Armors Roughly 106 Enemies Roughly 191 States Roughly 133 Troops Exactly 121 Custom Animations Roughly 140 common events 17 Actors 11 Classes Exactly 28 Elements (You need to only worry about 12) 7 Weapon types 4 Armor types 7 Skill types My focus? Enemy stat reform NOTE: I have finals coming up and HW to make up so I probably won't get much done this month.

Here is my progress and plans for World of Chaos. Note: Imma do this on the 1st of every Month NEW FEATURES Skill/Skill Type Damage Rate Now, not only will you get things that strengthen elements, but you'll get things that strengthens a specific skill or skill type (melee, magical/ranged, and abilities). Damage Formula Reform (Completed) The game now uses a 1:(2/3) ratio instead of the default 1:0.5 ratio. PLANS Weapon stats reform There will also be a reform for the weapons. Some are too strong and some are too weak. I also have to reform the rarity levels (Equipment set, legendary, legendary artifact, and unique (new one)). Quest System Reform Still have to add some quests over. Equipment differentiation I want two-handed blunts and blades to coexist, but I want them to be different somehow. The idea I have is: Two-Handed Blunt Weapon: Ignore 22% Armor (for melee attacks only); +5% MP Cost Rate Two-Handed Blade Weapons: +22% Melee Resistance; + 5% MP Cost Rate The idea is that both of these two-handed weapons will negate each other and even it out. Two-Handed Scythes (Battlemage weapon): Ignore 11% Armor, 11% Melee Resistance, -20% AGI (Or I might replace the AGI penalty with the +5% MP Cost) Battlestaves: People who use these will be able to equip shields (Scythes still cannot). I plan on doing something for shields. I plan to give them a +10% Magical/Ranged resistance. Enemy Stats Reform Due to my damage formula reform, many enemies are doing little to no damage. As some may already know, I have created a bible for my project, World of Chaos: http://www.rpgmakercentral.com/blog/439/entry-1710-world-of-chaos-creating-a-custom-bible/ I am on my 8th book, and I had an idea. What would you think about a separate game being based on you playing through all the biblical stories? I don't want to add it in the original series because I think it would seem out of place to add it in World Chaos 1, 2, 3, etc. Especially since I don't know when I'll be done creating it considering the WOC universe is pretty large.

Here is my progress and plans for World of Chaos. NEW FEATURES Increase element dmg rate You can now increase your damage output of a specific element. Ex: +25% Fire DMG Rate means all fire damage you do is increased by 25%. Having some issue with specific skills, but this will be done. System Options You can now change the color of your windowskin (I suggest keeping it red). That is also where you'll be able to change the difficulty system. Event Window When something is added to your inventory, a window pops up to tell you what it is. One is in the lower-left corner and the other is a text pop-up in the middle. Makes it so I don't have to always tell you what you getting; the game does it for me PLANS Damage formula reform I've been doing the 1:0.5 default ratio, but the damage throughout the game has grown increasingly large. Ex: a.atk * 8 - b.def * 4 a.atk * 25 - b.def * 12.5 Instead of the 1:0.5 ratio, I'm going to see about a 1:(2/3) ratio. Weapon stats reform There will also be a reform for the weapons. Some are too strong and some are too weak. I also have to reform the rarity levels (Equipment set, legendary, legendary artifact, and unique (new one)). Sub-Classes will be revealed on level 20 instead of 25. Each character has a fixed sub-class. It used to be level 25, but they was insanely too long to wait to get it, so I decided to make it level 20 instead. PROGRESS 14 Quests have been finished. No Quests are in progress. Roughly 379 skills Roughly 99 items Roughly 121 Weapons Roughly 94 Armors Roughly 105 Enemies Roughly 187 States Roughly 133 Troops Exactly 119 Custom Animations Roughly 140 common events 17 Actors 11 Classes Exactly 28 Elements (You need to only worry about 12) 7 Weapon types 4 Armor types 7 Skill types Quest System Reform I scrapped the old one and added a new one, so I'm converting all of the quests in one script and trying to transfer it in the other. I count only 9 Quests so there is 5 I'm forgetting about. My focus? All my reforms has been my focus. I'm going to also focus on the WOC Bible again.

World of Zulavin: Vallenfell Regions pt.1
LordSquirrel posted a blog entry in The Thoughts of a Squirrel King
Welcome to the first post of a new series: World of Zulavin(zoo-lah-veen), the series where I blabber about all the random stuff I've written down for my game that I can't find a place for inside of said game. The game in question being Legend of Amara. In this opening we will be going over regions on the continent known as Vallenfell, the homeland of the Valnius and the first splinter continent. We only have two regions today, I have more written down but I don't want to drown you guys in fantasy words right off the bat. We'll do three regions next time, but for now let's start with... The Shaded Range: Population: 2,071 Settlements (population): Hamlets: Aider (21), Pickstone (27), Wilhelm(54), Orerun (64), Whistling Hills (17), Cloud Peak (22), Knight's Rest (8), Inal'tor(ruins), Alewood (32). Villages: Woodspell (243), Pickter (589), Masa(ruins), Tracker(abandoned), Entha's Trail (207). Towns: New Albrin (787), Twilight Mist(ruins). Description: A mountain range on the southern west area of Vallenfell. The region is dominated by the mysterious Night Shade Woods, a large forest that stretches from the far western tip of the continent to the banks of the Darren River. The region is dotted with a dozen or so small villages and hamlets along with one town, New Albrin, that sits on the southern border near the Amaran Plains. With the area being one of the more mountainous on the continent, the population in the area is small and scattered. Only a few locations are capable of sustaining large quantities of crops and as such the few settlements here rarely export produce. The only true exports of the region come from Pickter, a small mining village where the rare Iyite ore can be found within the local caves. A small cast of wildlife populates the region, Enthas, Grasras and Yalins make up a majority of the wildlife, but large bats, insects, slimes and spiders are found within the Nightshade Woods that cover most of the region. Valnius of Enrial descent are the majority ethnicity, with Amaran, Vonak, and Altira making up the minority tribe. Small numbers of Ganths and Sigth make up around one percent of the population. Valnius of Amuri descent were once the dominant ethnicity in the southern areas of the region, but they were almost completely wiped out by the Scourge that the Zinuthu Dominion led against the tribe thirty years ago. Few, if any, remain in the region today. There is also a small Omrak'ral settlement hidden in the mountains known as Wilhelm. People from this region are often known as Rangers. (Look to the end of the post for explanations for any words or terms) Amaran Plains: Population: 19,329 Settlements: Hamlets: Fen (24), Rider's Breath (16), Windwheel (46), West Rest (59). Villages: Border Shade (361), Havel (257), Remembrance (583), Derex (472). Towns: Old Albrin (509), Zinuthu's Watch(destroyed), Gilligan(destroyed), Feyhills (602), The Howling Hill (565), Keystep (1453), Oakhatch (1054). Cities: First Horn (4576), Far Bay (5621), Zinuthu's Dawn(destroyed) Holdfasts: Oakstone (176), Birchstone (294), Pinestone (152). Fortresses: Ironstone (586), Silverstone (754), Goldstone (1056). Description: One of the most fought over regions in the history of Vallenfell, the Amaran Plains is a verdant region that stretches from the borders of the Shaded Range up to the foot of Mount Windpeak and down to the glistening waters of the Howling Coast. The region is home to many biomes and mysteries such as the frozen shore, the thirteen stones, the ruins of Inal'tor and many others. The climate of the region ranges from sub-tropical in the south to a perpetual autumn-like state in the north, though the majority of the region remains relatively moderate all year round, making it the breadbasket of southern Vallenfell. The region also was the most prolific participant in the Panwa invasion of 1958 AoM, aside from The Scarred Stones, and was once home to hundreds of the greatest holdfasts and fortresses to ever exist, but now there are only six, the legendary Six Stones. The Six Stones are the oldest and strongest fortresses and holdfasts on Vallenfell, all have survived countless assaults over millennia, and were never captured by enemy forces until the Second Tribal Wars of 912 AoR. The Six Stones still stand today and Goldstone acts as a small city in the region. Valnius of the Amaran tribe have always made up the majority of the population in the region, with a slightly larger than usual population of Sigth nomad tribes. Other tribes make up minorities of the region, such as the Malik and Amanusi. The Zinuthu once made up a large minority in the region, but none reside in the region after nearly all of them were butchered in the Second Tribal Wars. The Plains were once the third most populated region on the continent, but after the Amaran Scourge and The Second Tribal Wars the population fell to the tenth, just above the Shaded Range. It is quickly recovering, though. Now standing at the fifth most populated. The wildlife of the region is mostly docile herd herbivores with a few predators. Enthas, sheep, wild Grelhorns, rabbits and Nothirs make up about half of the wildlife population. In contrast to the Shaded Range, the main export of the Amaran plains is produce from the large number of farms, and fish from the coastal towns. The region is also cited as the birthplace of modern music on Vallenfell and is reflected by the people's love of the art and the sale of every type of instrument one could think of. People from this region are often referred to as Amaran, though since the founding of the new Amaran kingdom, many now use Amani. And now some explanations of certain things. Races: Valnius - The closest to humans, but with bone spikes lining their forearms. Generally secluded and unconcerned with the world outside of Vallenfell or even outside of their individual tribes. They are well known for their prowess in agriculture and for their impressive resilience against repeated invasions of their homeland in the waning day of the Age of Mourning. Their patron Ruler is Lokrale. Sigth - Think half-giants. Formerly slaves of the Ganth, the Sigth are now a tightly connected set of nomad tribes who have spread to every continent on Zulavin. They have tried to found cities and empire many times in the past, but their inherent wanderlust has seen all of those attempts ended. Their patron Ruler is Nalan. Ganth - Think slightly short humans with insane healing factors. Formerly the glorious kings of the surface of Lothander, the Ganth are now known as mole lords, forced underground when the Sigth rebelled against them, scorching the entirety of the surface of Lothander. They are known for their ceaseless wars, unrivaled combat prowess, and highly resistant bodies. They have no patron Ruler. Omrak'ral - Think of a regal looking gargoyle. Considered the closest to the Iyana of old, the Omrak'ral are the lords of Eboncrest, the largest continent on Zulavin. They are known mostly for their strict form of government that fits everyone into a specific societal roles from birth as well as their long standing hatred of the Ganth. Their patron Ruler is Silth. Animals: Entha - A strange creature that has the general build of a wolf, but the fur patterns, tail and ears of a wild cat. They often hunt in packs of six and are able to paralyze prey with their glowing eyes, or dissipate into mist when threatened. Grasras - Think one of those giant sloths if they had horns on their heads and razor sharp claws. Grelhorns are an oddity on southern Vallenfell, as they are the only creature with such fearsome features combined with such a quiet personality. They are pure herbivores and use their horns and claws to either help push down trees or to cut through thick brush. They will defend themselves if necessary, but rarely kill any attacker, usually hitting any such creatures with the back of their paw. Yalin - A silver and bronze colored bear with green eyes. Yalins are smaller bears that are well known for their very docile nature, often preferring to sit in place idly eating berries all day than to bother with anyone who enters it's territory. They are also often kept as pets by wealthier citizens in the Floating Isles. Grelhorn - A pig sized armor plated lizard with tusks growing out of their chins. A much despised creature by the the citizens of the Amaran Plains, these creatures are well known as scavengers, willing to anything that will fit inside their maws, even using their tusks to break into houses and storage buildings. Nothir - Think of a massive crow. A very skittish and generally harmless giant bird, the Amuri tribe often considered them to be omens of good fortune. While they are largely harmless most of the time, they have been known to become very aggressive for apparently no reason. -

Legacy of the World [Demo v1.0]
TerraCaveman posted a topic in Archived Games -Projects that have been inactive for 12 months are stored here.
LEGACY OF THE WORLD OP latest update: 03/31/16 Developers: PowerBurger & TheMisterLuigi (Special thanks to our friend, Miku Boy, for being a regular playtester for us) Genre: Turn-Based RPG Game Progression: 1/8th of the game is completed. Game resources are subject to change. Aiming for Summer/Fall 2016 release for Demo v2.0. Average Game Length: The demo averages around 7-11 hours. This includes various sidequests in the game, in addition to the main story events. Recruitment: N/A Story & Setting: Legacy of the World takes place in a fictional Earth, set over 1000 years in the future. Technology appears to have regressed to a point of becoming scarce to non-existent. The story begins with a semi-retired mercenary named Kurtwood Okerson who lives in the little town of Oaksville. The day seems to be rather ordinary as he goes out to meet an old friend, but then he is given a message from the king of Elsnoire. He assumes it is just another call for work from the king, but upon his arrival to Elsnoire, he encounters a mysterious group of hooded individuals and is eventually wrapped into far bigger events than one could imagine. Events that could very well concern the entire world. Playable Characters: There's quite an ensemble of characters in the game already. These are just the player characters! Credits: We have used a very large amount of resources made by others, alongside original resources made by us, to the point that it may be a bit too large to put everything here. This includes scripts, graphics, music/BGMs that are used in the game. The biggest of which being the game's scripts and music. A .txt file will be posted of the credits page that will also be provided in the download of the game: http://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/Public/Credits%20%5BDemo%20v1.0%5D.txt?_subject_uid=102951146&w=AACLlkzVrqFLOzOxa7dP6Chls5U38SIf2a1Z6TknO-hzNg NOTE: Please let us (TheMisterLuigi and/or PowerBurger) know if you find something of yours in our game and we failed to credit you! It is very possible that we may have missed some things in our credits, and we don't want you to go without being credited for work! p.s. If we need to provide a little more, in terms of credits, please let us know about that as well! Screenshots: Features: - Many custom portraits drawn by TheMisterLuigi (who is still very critical of himself and wants to continue improving the portraits for the next demo, haha). - Lots of non-RTP themes to help immerse you into the game! - Easy enough to get into for newcomers to RPG games, but with challenging aspects present even for veteran players! - Playable character individuality. One character in a certain class can be quite different from another character using the same class! - Distinct boss fights that will require the player to use all of the classes/skills you are given to succeed! - Enjoyable dialogue throughout the story! Possible Bugs: - An apparent issue with the Arrow Keys not working for movement with a playtester. It has happened one time with that single playtester, and we have not been able to replicate it, but it may be something to keep in mind. The Number Keys on the "Num Pad" can be used for controlling character movement as well though. - A few graphical glitches? The events seem to "twitch" for a brief moment when entering new areas. It is mostly just one area where it sticks out (a roof in the "Elsnoire" area). - A shutdown might happen on the World Map, possibly? Still trying to find out which troops cause it if any. Just take caution and save often when on the map! Definitely Bugs: - The well in Oaksville turns off item popups. Item popups also disappear after doing the Phillip's Nightmare Side-Quest. - A "ghost Yvonne" talks to you if you examine her house door in Oaksville! Thankfully, it doesn't do much more than that. - Some unspawned enemies have their HP bars appear. - Around 10 typos. Not an actual bug, but it bugs the developers... heheheh... (yeah, starting to wonder if I'm suitable for the writing job... xD). - The "Underground Passage" area attached to Oaksville becomes available early at some point. Some bosses can be refought down there. Seemingly does not cause crashes. Probably not recommended? - Talking to the NPC in the Snowy House area will force a shutdown because of a missing sprite. This area is not required and not accessible until the demo's last boss is defeated though. - Don't talk to the enemy closest to the reaper in the unlockable scenario, as a missing theme in the game forces a shutdown. I asked a very similar question but this one is a bit different. As some know, in World of Chaos, I plan to create a Church. In Dragon Age: Origins, you get x amount of exp when you find lore. Since Church is an ongoing lore, what if I did the same thing for it. As some of you know, I'm creating a bible for my project. Therefore, at the right times, I can quote the bible when needed without having to think of a verse out of thin air. For example, here's a situation where the bible was quoted. This gate is forever frozen from non-melting ice by Gust, the God of Ice. Gods 4:6 "My ice is like my power, it cannot melt." Here's another The bible does specifically state that Magnificent is no fool... Gods 1:14 "Magnificent, God of Chaosia, is the most cunning of them all; he can have lies within the lies of other lies." Note: I plan to add one more verse but i haven't gotten to that part of the bible yet. Back to topic Every time you come in, you learn something new. Basically, like a real church, you learn more about the bible. Every time you go, you read more into the bible and is taught how to understand it. With this you gain a small amount of exp. This is optional so it's not like one of the gods are going to come up and say "Go to church or die by the will of the gods." With this I plan to give more exp on other things you do while in the church. For example, The priest says "In the bible, why is Lord Eldust talked about in 3rd person? Why couldn't Lord Eldust write about himself?" Note: Lord Eldust is the God of Dragons You are given a choice to raise your hand. You get 3 choices to answer it correctly and the correct answer would be: "Because the Bible is the Word of the TEN not Ten PLUS." You get x amount of exp for getting it right and then priest says: "Exactly, that's also why only ten of them are 1st person and the other four is 3rd person." Then the priest explains why the Bible of the Ten wasn't made differently to include all gods and rename it something else. What you guys think?

I'm currently making armors and weapons. There are features that'll be included Tiers - There are tiers for weapons, armors, enemies, and quests. Each tier, depending on object, shows the level of which the object is. Weapon.Tier Tier 1: Level 1 - 9 Tier 2: Level 10 - 19; + 1 rune slot; +10% ATK Tier 3: Level 20 - 29; + 2 rune slots; +20% ATK Tier 4: 30 - 40; + 3 rune slots; +30% ATK Some weapons are pre-enchanted and, depending on the enchantment, you may lose a rune slot or gain one. I do a plus/negative formula to find out how many rune slots. 2 negatives and one positive, depending on what they are, you will gain 1 rune slot. Since there is one positive, the equation would be. x = # of Negative effects y = # of Positive effects z = # of rune slots (+ or -) x - y = z Armor.Tier Armors are pre-enchanted and can not be enchanted. They follow the same rules as weapons when it comes to enchantments. Armors go by defense bonuses rather than attack bonuses. The percentage and levels are the same for both weapon and armor. Runes The strength the pre-enchanted also plays a part in how many rune slots you have. Enemy.Tier Tier 1 = Level 1 - 9; +10% Stat bonus Tier 2 = Level 10 - 19; +20% Stat Bonus Tier 3 = 20 - 29; +30% Stat Bonus Tier 4 = 30 - 40; +40% Stat Bonus Quest.Tier Tier 1 = Level 1 - 9; any equipment Tier 2 = Level 10 - 19; any equipment Tier 3 = Level 20 - 29; Tier 2 or higher equipment Tier 4 = Level 29 - 40; Tier 3 or higher equipment Tier 5 = Level 40+; Tier 4 Equipment You'll be notified of the quest's tier if it is higher than Tier 1. This is to show what equipment you should have before entering. If you don't, you'll have a difficult time beating it. Difficulty System I'm probably going to have a difficulty system so you can pick what you want. Newbie(Easy) Apprentice(Normal) Hero(Hard) Hero King(Very Hard) Cooldown/Warmup System All skills have cooldown but not all have warmup. Currently, only a few have warmup. A skill's cooldown depends on it's original MP cost. Some skills, like heal, has a higher cooldown than some. This is so you can't spam a spell or skill over and over. Reputation When your reputation increase, usually by doing missions, your discount increases as well. You get special "extra" discounts in certain places. Then, there are some that has high pay (less discount %) but has unique items that makes the coin worth it. For example, in Lishtar Village, you get a 50% discount in poisons. If you want poisons, going there would be the place. Another example, Salik City has a tax rate but they are the only city that sells runes. They sell all the runes in the game depending on your level. Heroic Missions Heroic missions are similar to "Test of Valor" missions. If your level is equal to or greater than the required level, you may enter. Once you start the mission, your skills will be tested. If you pass, you get stat bonuses and, on some missions, you get more. The tiers of Heroic Missions are the same as Quest Tiers. Skill Diversity In the World of Chaos demo, I've been told, by a friend, that the skills of the actors are too similar. I will assure you that they are diverse but it was so early in the game so you wouldn't have seen it. The diversity starts at level 9, the level you become after you finish with the first boss in the game. After that, you'll see a difference in the skills they learn. It get's really interesting once you reach level 25 (can't tell you what or I would be giving you spoilers). Any questions or concerns?

Ive been doing skills for my game. Progress went a bit slow due to school and stuff. A linear demo should be released sometime in late october. The current demo is all over the place but the new one will be more linear. Im thinking of actually writing a bible for my game since it's religion-based. What do you guys think about that? My plans is to make the game where you feel it. I want you, yourself, to feel like the hero. I want you to experience the world; I want you to feel like you're actually in it. That is my current progress and plan.
