  1. We're just putting the finishing touches on the latest version of Ferion and are looking for a graphics artist to assist with the design of the page elements. The right person for the job would of course be rewarded, most likely with shares (the game already makes a small amount of money every month and with the new graphics updates we plan to take this to mobile). Hello everyone, this my first thread about creating some stuff, i think i should share it, so what the topic is? in this thread we will create a battleback perspective look like 2.5D with some tools. and this is a tool we need to craft it. Photoshop Lightshot (if you dont have just take it with normal print screen button) Engine RMVXA step by step. 1. open your RMVXA project and create new map. make width and height like default (17 x 13) change your tileset with the tileset you wanna use. then ok 2. oke you have create one map for creating battleback then create a floor like you want, tile y(1-10) & x(1-15) is your floor, tile y(11) is your map, so you must give a border 1 tile for easy to cutting. cut it with lightshot or printscreeen button. 3. open the result of your screenshot to photoshop make the side is transparent use magic wand tool, for easy to clear. use rectangular marquee tool, to select image floor with out wall. cut it / copy it to a new layer. back use move tool, and select the image, right click choose perspective. and transform it like this. 4. then save it in png, btw the layer should be in large (544,416).   4. Hi guys! I am working on an rpg, and some friends where asking if I'd show them how I was doing some of the stuff I've been doing for the game. So I thought I'd record them and make a little tutorial of my workflow. CREATING OBJECT SHADOWS USING PHOTOSHOP by Nestat REQUIREMENTS: You need to know your way around Photoshop; (this guide made with the use of version CS4 but you can use any version, i think) A game map as a template. LET'S GO! 1. Go ahead and load your map in Photoshop. 2. Separate the floor from the objects/furniture into two different layers as shown in the picture below. (This step will not be covered in this tutorial) 3. Right-click on the furniture layer and select "Blending Options..." 4. Choose "Drop Shadow" and click on it for more options. Drag the "Distance" slider to the right, 5-20 px (depends on how close/far your light source is.) Adjust the "Angle" to match the direction of light of your map. 5. Select Layer -> Layer Style -> Create Layer. Notice that your 'Shadow Effect' is now isolated in its own layer, separate from the furniture layer! Select the shadow layer. Give it a 15-35 % transparency. 6. Make the changes accordingly to your map needs. (erase shadows not needed, change shadow color etc.) That's it! Happy Shadowing!
  6. I'm just going to post some of the things I've done both recently and maybe a few from the past I'm proud of. I'll keep this thread updated with new artwork as I finish it. All of my stuff is really grahpic arts, no hand drawn stuff cause I suck at that XD So this piece looks better as my facebook header. its shrunk down here to conform to image standards. Its a fun graphic that shows the characters in my game. There will be more of them, but right now I have 4 created. The blond haired man on the left is Alex Kingstead. The blue and grey haired girl on top is Arisa Leinev, the protagonist. The grey haired girl with a red streak is Ashley Suthland, another character. finally the dark skinned armored clad man is Desmond. My eventual goal for this graphic is to have each of my characters standing on one of the squares. These are the buttons I made for my title screen. I'm using a script from soulpour that gives it a fire emblem style title screen. anyways redid the buttons to this dark carbon fiber style and I think it came out nice. I would start work on the title screen splash image, but I still don't have a working title for my game so I'm going to sit that on the back burner until later. for now, its simply called Project l-31n3v (get it...cause the main character is arisa leinev...hahah I'm so clever)

    Well, originally my foray into the world of graphics design wasn't with the intention of making stuff for RPG Maker. It began almost ten years ago, in which I wanted to be like some other cool 'GFX Artists' at the time who were able to make themselves awesome tags for their signatures. From there, I went on to working on wallpapers, splash pages and all kinds of other stuff. I haven't actually been at this a solid ten years. There's been stretches of up to two to three years in between, so I wouldn't say I'm overly experienced. My program of choice is Photoshop CS2, and that's been the case ever since I moved on from Paintshop Pro 7 several years back. I probably won't upgrade to a more recent version of Photoshop any time soon. I've tried them, but nothing about them have made me want to purchase those over CS2, so. Anyways, here's an example of a lot of my previous pieces... But anyways, I'm always welcome to people saying what they think of these.
  8. Hi, I am Sillouete and this is my first time posting here. I am posting because I would like some feedback on some parallax maps that I made. It is my first time making these and I had no previous experience with Gimp or RPG Maker. For the moment, these are just practice maps that will probably never be used in a game. Any suggestions on how I can improve are welcome. Anyway, on with the screenshots! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the first map I made. It is set in a forest, with a small house. I painted the terrain and cliffs myself just because I thought it would look more natural. In the end, it came out a bit more cluttered than I expected. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This second map features a mini town by a small lake. Again, I painted the terrain myself. I am not exactly very happy with the water, but I decided to leave it like that till I learn how to use water properly. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In this third map, I decided to actually use water from a Hanzo Kimuro tileset that I found. Also, I used the same tileset to make the base terrain. I finished it off by doing the details on Gimp.
