https://store.steampowered.com/app/1810220/Gears_of_Phantasm_Destiny_TailoredAct_I/ A classic styled JRPG offering a somewhat different approach on how RPGs can be designed. Uses a customized battle system, (while a prototype & not without its quirks)still evolves basic front facing battlers to the next Lvl exploiting the build-in engine combat & evented animations. The Real Time Combat is quite the change of pace from turn based RPG MAKER based games. However combat has always played second fiddle to exploration & characters with deep story. Now go fetch these orbs & track down that evil doer before the world comes to a sudden end! (WARNING READ ONLY) IF INTO DEPRESSING REALITY & WHAT GOES THROUGH MY MIND! But how much depth does collecting 4 orbs to "save the world & defeat the bad evil doer" have? What approach could even be possibly taken to try & refresh a formula older than even myself. Well, building the ground work was the easy part, & completing it is another hurdle all together. With half finished questlines, dev rooms sitting there unfinished, & dungeons that require work. I'm left pondering, was this really a game I created for the sole purpose of being sold on steam, or was it some kind of way of getting a little control back into life from reality of being a shut-in. Creativity only goes so far, exploration & average NPCs that simply serve their simple function, doesn't seem to get you quite there to the nostalgic levels of being thrusted in a Fantasy World as you once had way back as a kid playing all those 2D RPGs for the very first time, what is left. Two & half years with a good bit of content to offer yet feel it lacking as a void to be completed. The drive of wanting to make money undermines the whole passion of wanting to game dev... Just trying to market has torn me away from wanting to make all the additional content I want. I don't know just ramblings of a dev who feels overly attached with 1st game world to move on. Playtest not reflecting changes made to events. Bugged? Plz help
IndigoDreamsArt posted a topic in Editor Support and Discussion
I am experiencing some serious issues with the playtest, and not sure even if it is the playtest or if I'm doing something wrong. And if it is the playtest, how do I go about fixing this so that I can progress with my game and make sure everything is working properly? (Which it seems it is not?) This really only started happening today. Here's the scenario: I will put in or change commands, often simple ones, and they will not trigger in the playtest. These are usually simple movement commands which I've double, triple, quadruple checked and they either will not trigger at all, or they will simply stop working mid playthrough, or only some of the commands will work. Sometimes text will not trigger. I will restart the program or my computer and sometimes it will work but often not. In this particular example, I've added some screenshots of my most recent event window. In it, everything will play through until the last part, and then BeauTheBully just doesn't walk away. Have I done something incorrect or is there any reason he should not execute these movements? There is nothing in the way of his path. This is just one of several examples. I guess I'm wondering if in fact I am even doing something wrong, if not if it's the RPG Maker itself that is bugged, or the playtest? Is there a solution to this because thus so far I cannot progress. I am a week and many hours of worktime into the trial with intent to purchase, but I need to know that this isn't an issue that is going to keep occuring before I do. Thank you for any input, I'm fairly frustrated and confused right now.-

Good evening. For some odd reason, I can't save changes and playtest my game anymore. When I click the save icon, it seems to save, but doesn't. The spinning wheel around the mouse pops up for an oddly brief amount of time. Then, when I go to playtest my game, it asks me if I'd like to save any changes made (which I thought I just did) and when I click on "save" nothing happens. The playtest never pops up. Oddly enough, when I decline to save the playtest runs (but without the changes I've made.) I've tried opening up some tester games and changing them, then saving and playtesting them, and they work just as normal. I tried uninstalling RPGMVXA, and re-installing it, and the problem still persists with my one game. I honestly wasn't expecting to run into this problem and I'm aiming to publish my game by November. This is such a bummer. From what I've found, most people who experience a playtest issue at least have an error accompany them, but the game isn't giving me any excuse for not working on my one specific game. The only thing that may have caused this, was that I recently copied all of my files on the flash drive I have my game on, and pasted them to another flash drive. Does anyone have any idea what may be going on? Thank you for reading. Found the problem:

Well, I have spend weeks working on this game, and now I am playtesting from the beginning to make sure everything is in order and not I tried going up some stairs that I placed to keep going uphill and they are no longer passable. I checked the resources, I reset the tile to simple passable, I tried moving the stairs, and it seems impossible to go up! It was working fine a while back. I am not sure if using the same tiles for other maps affected it somehow, but it's so frustrating. aprob.bmp aprob2.bmp
