Well, I don't really know if this is the right forum to post this topic but yeah Please tell me the details of your preference, more appreciated if it involves scripting. I was just taking a break from coding cuz it's a hell of depressing thoughts. That's why I decided to take a go on RPG MAKER. But I come to like this engine. If it comes I might make this my main engine and i'm an aspiring indie dev so this decision might affect my entire life. Enough with the drama. So yeah. Please tell me ur reason

Game Poll : Who dies ? Who kills ? Who Survives ?
Dear_Elise posted a topic in Theory and Development
Greetings everyone ! Here is my question , which is indeed more of a poll . I have a made a story and I am currently developing into a game . This game is a psychological survival game which is a bit of a kill or be killed . What I would have liked you to do , is to look at the below picture and tell me who do you expect to survive , to di , or to kill . The game page is right here if informations need (this page needs to be updated but you can get a clear idea of it ) : http://www.rpgmakercentral.com/topic/38845-kiokukagi-tension-delta-climax/ Pictures of all the characters (with names below) : (1st row from left to right : Aimi Mitsuki , Uraraka Itsuki , Akinobu Suzuha , Takatsugu Joutarou , Hinata Eirin . 2nd row from left to right : Kujuu Roku , Chinatsu Shizuka , Marionette Caramella , Amber Rose , Kourogi Fuu . 3rd row from " " " : Junichirou Ittoku , Fujitsuki Amethyst , Miyamura Yukari , Koyakoya Saede , Kiyomi Mei . Last row rom " " " : Houjou Fuyuki , Kanade Michiyo , Kimimaru Gakkuri , Fujitsuki Emerald , (Tsugihagi.)) -
I was just talking to a member about wanting to better know the users here. I mean, beyond than just seeing their avatar, or reading their profile-- sometimes you just really want to know more about them, especially if you keep seeing them. But for most people, we're taught that asking random questions is odd. We're taught to wait for a "right time" to approach, or wait for some magical amount of time until we think we know this person well enough. .... So here is the random poll i made up! It's the second one i made for the RPG Maker community. You can choose to leave questions you don't want to answer blank. I feel like this might also be a good way of getting everyone together on a topic. First couple questions will be general ones. I'm going to read every reply i get, just like the first time i did this. : )

Evenin' RMers, We are considering the possibility of extending the forum's badges system to act as something of an achievements system. We are currently only considering it for the Game Production area and, naturally, would be interested to hear your opinions on the matter. Would you consider such a system to be for the betterment or detriment of the forum? Would you prefer a system that is a seperate entity to the forum badges? Is there perhaps some similar system you would like to see in its stead? While we can provide a little more information on the general idea, we would like to create a system designed around what you would all want and so it is still relatively early days. Let us know how you feel below

So Undertale won the GameFAQs Best Game Ever poll...
Kayzee posted a blog entry in KilloZapit's Magical Fairyland
... and apparently the Internet is freaking out about it? Sorry for rambling so much about Undertale here lately, I just find it an interesting game with an interesting reception. Anyway I wanted to make some comments about it this whole poll nonsense: The GameFAQ poll was always intended mostly as a silly fun thing, not a serious poll, and even if it wasn't it wouldn't mean much. The whole "tournament" style is complete bull anyway. It's way way too easy for otherwise promising tittles to get crushed early or for less good ones to do well in the rankings simply because of placement. If it was round-robin style instead of bracket style maybe that would be interesting actually, but as is it seems pretty stupid to me. There may have been a lot of people voting for it just to piss other fans of classic games off. The idea of a "best game ever" is kind of a childish and insulting one anyway. Even rating games in lists of favorites seems wrong to me. You don't just hold up one piece of media over all others as if all others are worth less then it is. Art doesn't work like that (and yes games are art). Art is a language, a culture, a rich tapestry of many works. They all add to each other and help each other. None of them are ever perfect, and they don't need to be. You look at some ideas in one work as inspiring and interesting and some in another While I think Undertale deserves all or most of it's praise, I also think there are many many games, most of which that have been forgotten by all but a few, that are just as remarkable as Undertale is and in many of the same ways. Still, do I think Undertale winning is a bad thing? Hack no. I am glad as heck to see Ocarina of Time taken down a few pegs. It is a boring overrated snore of a game. Majora's Mask is awesome though. Almost forgot: about the whole thing made me smile. -
Something I've always wondered is peoples preferences of either realistic games or random games. What do I mean by that you ask? Let me go over each option to give you guys an idea of what I mean: Realistic: realistic games try to push the boundary of gaming to give the player the most life like experience as possible. They usually have serious storylines, and cover real world issues.they can be set in any time peroid as long as they are accurate to the time period. Random: random games are more focused on a fun experience, not story telling and realisticness. Games like mario fit into this category. These games usually have random strange story lines, for example super mario bros' storyline in which a fat italian plumber is rescuing a princess of fungus from a turtle king with an army of living bullets. These games can obviouslly take place in any setting, and as previously stated, are made more for fun (enjoyment) then for glory (making huge steps forward in gaming). which kind do you prefer, or do you prefer both? Please answer and comment!

Popular RPG Ideas - Poll via google docs - Responses Shown
DrZoddiak posted a topic in Theory and Development
So I figured instead of having 10 different people post different or possibly the same question and having it get answered with a bunch of comments. It would be much easier to have a poll set up to receive and document these particular answers. I have set up a Poll or form via Google documents, asking a variety of question that may help many people decide what kind of game they may wish to produce. Assuming we get enough responses it would be extremely helpful to many people. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1xX7sVwlT2EUQjni10mHPp_pyT43DV1GKPkyZ9AnrxB8/viewform There are 12 questions. 1 question if forum name (Optional) 10 questions are required questions 1 question is anything extra you feel like adding If there's any important questions you feel should be added let me know and I'll add them in. If you wish to review the responses given the link below will bring you to the responses. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0As94gBFKqP1jdFdEbU93WF95MVNKdjVxVWtBYUtBLVE&usp=sharing -
Hi guys and girls, I just wanted to get your opinion on the above idea's because I'm not sure if SotA should have all the content it is planned to have, Also the story keep's changing and I feel there is a risk I might end up having to chop what I thought were key element's in the game, But yet they may not be. What do you guys and gals prefer? Open World or Linear Gameplay? 1 Quest and no detour's or Infinite Quests that change randomly when you complete one? A lot of backstory before I get too deep into the game? Surprises aka lots of plot twists? So many questions and yet so little space to ask them all Sincerelly The guy behind the mask
