I'm not a great artist, especially when it comes to design, so I've been trying my hand at some franken-portraits as an intermediary step. Here's three that I've done recently, any feedback? I'm trying to get some good outlines to match Ace better but have found it difficult so far, other than that it's hard for me to tell. I've been staring at these things so long they all look the same after awhile! These still need some general cleanup, but it will be done in the same step as the rest of the outlining. Almost done!

Ahhhhhh....it's SOOOO nice....the feeling you get when you finish an exquisite project (which took you like 4 months =.=") I finished the portrait of Coralie today. It wasn't exactly easy, and I'd been procrastinating on her for a looong time. But it's worth it! I think she turned out just as well as I hoped! ^-^ Well, maybe not quite, but close enough that I'm satisfied. Who knows what this post is supposed to be about, anyway? Why did I start this...well...whatever.... Coralie is from The Phantom, which is a novel/book that I'm currently writing and probably will never finish, but I just wanted to show you guys a little about her. She's a princess, yes, but she ain't your typical damsel in distress. She also has an incredibly bright personality and the ability to see everything as good fortune (She sees the glass completely full even when it's empty =.="). Anyway, this is Coralie: Tada~

Portrait + Charset for main character of a little game I'm working on. For the portrait, I was trying to stay at least somewhat close to the RTP portrait style, but still keep it my own so I wouldn't drive myself crazy trying to emulate line width and eye style and all the little details that can drive me nuts. Does it look appropriate/match the sprite/have somewhat appropriate proportions? Charset is a heavily edited one from a generator (since my knowledge of spriting is fairly nil). One issue I'm having is getting some of the blue shirt apparent in it without losing the look of bare arms. I've tried adding just a few pixels around the shoulders like it is in the portrait but it isn't really noticeable at 1x size and actually made it look a little bit off. Does anyone who has more experience than I have any tips to share on how to achieve that? Also, is this an interesting character? Would you be bored the minute you saw her on screen, or would you want to hear her story?

Browsing the web for resources, I came across this wonderful character. And decided to add my personal tweaks. As per the norm, I am looking for general critiques on the overall aesthetics.
