  1. This is a fan-made project, that is not associated with Hasbro, Inc. in any way. The creator of this project will never make any money in any way from it. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is the property of Hasbro, Inc.. This is a fanmade Local Multiplayer Ponified Kid-Friendly Turn Based RPG based on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic TV series. A unicorn pony, Twilight Sparkle receives a very important mission from Princess Celestia, the ruler of the magical land of Equestria. She and her assistant, a baby dragon named Spike are sent to Ponyville, where her task will be to meet other ponies and study about the Magic of Friendship. With their new friends, they'll go on adventures and solve various problems. ♥ PONIES! Discover the Magic of Friendship! ♥ Story and events heavily based on the TV series What happened in the show, will happen in the game along with RPG elements and additional plot. Didn't watch the show? Don't worry, you'll absolutely not get lost because of that! However, as the show can spoil the game, the game can spoil the show. ♥ Local Multiplayer (up to 2 players) Discovering the Magic of Friendship with a real friend or siblings will be better, than doing that alone! Explore Equestria, solve puzzles and fight together! ♥ Energetic Battle System As everything will be based on hit-boxes, each skill will have different usage. A single projectile will be better against singular large enemies, while Area of Effect will perform better against multiple smaller enemies. Besides that, the projectiles may have different behavior dependable on skill. Some skills may also have interaction involved, like timed action, chain of buttons or simple button mashing when casting powerful abilities such as Twilight's Magic Nova. ♥ Each pony has a set of unique skills As each pony is different as the night is from the day, their abilities and specialties are different as well! ♥ Skill Tree Each pony will have a different path. Gain experience to improve or learn new abilities. ♥ Skill Assign System Each pony can assign 8 abilities, either active or passive. A good combination of active and passive skills may give decent (even unexpected) results. ♥ Resource gathering and crafting Collect materials to craft equipment; Combine equip-able gems to get better-quality ones; Collect herbs and plants to allow Zecora brew potions. ♥ Many cutscenes and events ...Even too many. Take a break and relax for awhile. ♥ Songs! Your favorite songs from the show will appear here as well! ♥ Minigames and Puzzles Various minigames and solving puzzles to keep the boredom away! ♥ More PONIES! ... When you'll think, that you saw everypony already. Twilight Sparkle A book-loving unicorn pony with extraordinary magical abilities. Represents the element of Magic. > high magical power and resistance > high MP Rainbow Dash An action-loving colorful pegasus pony. Represents the element of Loyalty. > high speed > weather control (elemental abilities) Pinkie Pie An extremely energetic and sociable earth pony. Represents the element of Laughter. > high speed > explosive abilities! > party-buffing singing abilities Applejack A brave, reliable, strong and mature earth pony. Represents the element of Honesty. > high physical power and defense > high HP > party-buffing abilities > lack of magical abilities > low magic resistance Rarity A unicorn pony with good manners and love for beauty. Represents the element of Generosity. > magical abilities dealing physical or magical damage > party-protecting abilities Fluttershy A kind and shy, with love for animals pegasus pony. Represents the element of Kindness. > low HP > doesn't attack on her own - animal-calling abilities > healing abilities > party-buffing abilities Each pony will have a Primary Set of Skills and Passives, some of them will also have a Secondary Set. List of Skill Categories: Legend: [ICON] Name of Category | Set | What resources the category focuses on Passives | Special | --- Each pony will be able to bring 8 skills in total to battle, so either an active or a passive skill can be equipped in these slots. Equipping Passives will simply raise pony's parameters or add special features like additional projectiles when attacking etc. at cost of a skill slot. A well thought combination of these skills can give decent results. Everypony will have Passives. Now let's talk about unique skill sets for each pony. Magic | Primary | MP/EP Twilight will have various spells, starting from simple telekinesis that will deal light damage by throwing various objects -> through magic projectiles that will deal magical damage -> to powerful Area of Effect Spells, that at high MP and EP cost, will bring some destruction to the battle field. Skills | Primary | EP Rainbow Dash will be able to use her wings to perform various tricks to deal more physical damage. Weather | Secondary | MP/EP Rainbow Dash will also be able to control weather to deal elemental damage as well as Area of Effect. Partying | Primary | MP/EP Pinkie Pie will always find an occasion to throw a party and battling with enemies is not an excuse for her! She and her Party Cannon will show enemies how to party by dealing physical or magical damage. Blow up everything and party on! Songs | Secondary | MP/EP Besides partying, Pinkie Pie also loves to sing! As she sings songs during their adventure, she will learn to sing them in battle as well to raise parameters of ponies and more! Skills | Primary | EP Applejack is a strong farmer and she will show who has the power by dealing high physical damage or using her lasso to stun enemies. YEEHAWs | Secondary | MP/EP Applejack is an active pony and she will be showing her energy by motivating her friends and raising their strengths. Magic | Primary | MP/EP Rarity loves shiny gems. Besides using them for her creations, she also uses them as a weapon by dealing physical or elemental damage. Get ready for rains of shiny projectiles. FABULOUS! She can also use the bigger gems to defend her friends. Animals | Primary | MP/EP Let's be honest, Fluttershy wouldn't even harm a fly and even if a situation requires that, she will have troubles with defending herself. However, her beloved animals will cover her! She will be able to call various animals to deal physical or magical damage. Calling a bear will cause some troubles to enemies! Support | Secondary | MP Nopony is as kind and caring as Fluttershy. She will do her best to help her friends in need by recovering their strength and protecting them. Not available. 5. Hello There! Sometimes speeding up/down and doing other kinds of science on tracks brings interesting results. This time, I've reversed my cover and I liked what I heard immediately. That's why I've decided to recreate it by flipping the song upside down and remix it a little. It still may sound off and weird, but I tried to not modify it that much. The flipping process itself took maaaany hours, as I had to re-do the whole song after all. So... Basically it's a mess, that sounds like a reversed track, with some editing to make it less messy. With that being said, if you'll reverse this remix, you'll definitely recognize the original song. SCIENCE!

  12. Hello everybody! I've encountered a problem, that I have no idea how to solve. 'L' ([Q] on keyboard by default) and 'R' ([W] on keyboard by default) are not responding! It just decided to not work anymore, I don't even know how to explain that. When I'll change the key to 'A' (Shift) it will work - setting back to L/R - nope. I also tried on fresh projects and there is the same issue - I can't use L/R ([Q]/[W] on keyboard) to navigate through windows faster (page down/up). What kind of sorcery is this? D: -------------- Okay, to be more specific - the RM's 'L' and 'R' key doesn't work. Even changing that in the options under F1 doesn't help. There is absolutely no way to make Input.trigger?(:L) and Input.trigger?(:R) work. I can't page up and down in window selectables in any game anymore. Did my software just broke? D:
  13. Hoof to: Making gif's Using GIMP Free and simple way to create awesome banners! ~ Intoduction For the second or third time, I was asked how did I make my animated banners in my signature. Though I wish the answer would be 'professional' sounding, I'm actually using a simple method. + PROS - It's very easy (assuming, that you know the basics of using GIMP) - It's 100% Free - No quality loss like it happens with movie-to-gif converters (pixel~shading corruption) '- though there is still the gif type file's color limit - FULL control on every single pixel, frame and timing - CONS - It requires some time to make gifs - It may take ages to create complex gifs - Requires patience (dependable on complexity) ~ Let's hoof it! Don't be scared by the amount of steps and text in here. ^^ There's that much stuff, because I'm showing step by step, how I'm making my gifs, but if you have your layers ready (let's say you have 5 images and you want to make a gif with them to display all of them in one image file), then simply skip the first steps and check how to create a gif with your images. STEP 1: Create a New Image [►] SKIP TO NEXT STEP IF YOU KNOW THE BASICS OF GIMP [►►] SKIP IF YOU HAVE YOUR LAYERS ALREADY AND JUST WANT TO MAKE A GIF OF IT Just click "File" tab and select "New..." or simply use [Ctrl + N] shortcut. Then select your dimensions and click OK. For this tutorial, I'll create a simple progress bar gif with a size of 300x20. And we'll get this: And you have a new image! Well done! That's it! Now export it and upload to your signature! JK! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) STEP 2: Draw or Import Your Banner [►►] SKIP IF YOU HAVE YOUR LAYERS ALREADY AND JUST WANT TO MAKE A GIF OF IT Well, now you need to draw your banner. It is important to keep things in separate layers, to not have problems later. For this tutorial, I've made a silly progress bar: STEP 3: Animate Animated Parts [►►] SKIP IF YOU HAVE YOUR LAYERS ALREADY AND JUST WANT TO MAKE A GIF OF IT Now we'll have to multiply our blue layer and make a simple animation with it. In this tutorial, I'll be simply moving these 'arrows' to the right. Complexity of the gif depends on how fast you'll get back to the beginning, for example I'll need 12 layers to make one arrow cover another, which will allow me to loop it. So first, let's duplicate the blue layer and move its content to the right by one pixel: I have marked the copied layer with purple, so now let's copy the purple layer and move it again to the right by one pixel: Repeat that action until you'll get a loop with the first frame (the blue layer): WARNING! Big gif, opening this spoiler may cause lag ( i ) NOTE: As seen on the gif above, the animation goes from the BOTTOM to the TOP, so the animation starts with the very bottom layer and goes all the way up. Now as you can see, it will loop, so now we're able to move further. STEP 4: Clean Remainings [►►] SKIP IF YOU HAVE YOUR LAYERS ALREADY AND JUST WANT TO MAKE A GIF OF IT Probably you have noticed, that the arrows are getting out of the bar and that's right, we need to remove them. Make every animated layer visible at once and you'll get this: Now you can see all animated layers at once and you can clearly see how the arrows are getting out. Now use selection tool (it can be either the normal Rectangle one or "Free Select Tool" or whatever you're comfortable with) to select the area with the arrows outside the bar: Now simply scroll though the animated layers and delete these parts. You can highlight the top frame and just press [DEL] then [ ↓ ] and again [DEL], [ ↓ ] and repeat... Be careful to not delete that part in a BASE layer etc.. After cleaning, you'll see this: STEP 5: Merge Stuff [►►] SKIP IF YOU HAVE YOUR LAYERS ALREADY AND JUST WANT TO MAKE A GIF OF IT Now let's merge the animated part with the base, but keep the percentage layer separate for future. Our awesome animation took 12 frames, so let's duplicate the BASE layer to make 12 of them and merge animation layers with the base ones, so each layer will have BASE and the ANIMATION: Now we have the base prepared! STEP 6: Put the Values! [►►] SKIP IF YOU HAVE YOUR LAYERS ALREADY AND JUST WANT TO MAKE A GIF OF IT Let's assume we have 20% of the progress, so we'll have to edit the percent layer and create a new one (I'll name it "FILL"), where we'll fill the bar: Note, that all the BASE (with animation) is at the bottom and the changeable stuff is at the top. Now SAVE all of this as a PROJECT to be able to access it (the layered version) later in case if you would like to change the percentage and move the bar etc.. As you can see, the banner looks generally ready, but we still need to put the percentage and fill on each frame, so when everything is ready, merge FILL with PERCENTAGE and duplicate it to be able to combine it with each BASE. Technically do the same as when merging arrows (animation) with BASE. Now don't save! Because you'll have troubles with editing it later as the layers will be merged. You may however, save this as a new project if you want to, but keep the raw version, because it's important. STEP 7: Exporting GIF! [◄◄] GO BACK TO SEE AN EXAMPLE ON HOW TO PREPARE IMAGES Now there's the main point of this tutorial, so if you have skipped the previous parts, because you know the basics and stuff, then you'll be totally fine from there. We have a project with 12 layers: WARNING! Big gif, opening this spoiler may cause lag Now we want to make a gif of it, then it's a very simple process. > Click 'File' tab and select "Export As..." OR simply use the shortcut by pressing and holding [Ctrl] and [shift] then pressing the [ E ] button. > Name your file and put .gif extension to it. For example name it: Progress Bar.gif > Oh noes! A warning emerged! This is because for some reason (I wasn't paying attention where it exactly happened) my layers are bigger than the image size: ~so this warning box is telling me, that I need to get rid of the extra-size of the layers in order to export the file as a gif. Don't worry it's nothing scary, just use the "Crop" skill and you'll one-hit-KO that enemy. Fun fact: When you'll click "Cancel" then GIMP will freeze for a moment. I think it's a bug, but after ~20 seconds it will un-freeze and throw an error, that you need to crop the layers or something. > Setup your gif ● Tick "As animation" box ● Tick "Loop forever" box ● Set delay between frames (it applies to ALL* frames) ~ the less, the faster '-> 15 is minimum. A value less than that, will result in slow-motion ~ the gif will be played weirdly ● Set "(replace)" in the frame disposal, so it will be displaying the layers one after another (You can use "(combine)" when dealing with transparency stuff ~ ~ one layer will be covering another and combining ~ you can experiment with that) > AND CLICK EXPORT! ^^ * ALL - I'll show how to setup different delays for each frame later, no worries. [ I I ] PAUSE HERE AND CHECK HOW TO SETUP DIFFERENT DELAYS NOW Step 8: Checking the exported gif [◄◄] GO BACK TO SEE AN EXAMPLE ON HOW TO PREPARE IMAGES [◄] GO TO PREVIOUS STEP TO SEE HOW TO EXPORT A GIF Now you have your gif file, so you'll probably want to see how it looks like. You can open it with "Windows Media Player", but this guy doesn't play gifs very well, especially when dealing with transparency. As long as you don't have any transparent points and you're basing only on "(replace)" then it should play it nicely. Personally I'm checking my gifs by opening a new tab in "Google Chrome" and just drag'n'dropping the file to the browser, then it will play the gif perfectly. Now when it does look right, upload it to image hosting sites, such as Imgur and simply use the image's URL in the text editor like with normal (like .png) pictures. STEP +: Setting Different Delays to Each Layer As you know, you can set the delay between frames during exporting the gif. You probably also noticed, that it says "where unspecified" - yes, you can set it before exporting. You just need to add 'commands' in the layer's name. for example "(50ms)" - will set the delay of this frame to 50ms. Putting for example (10000ms) in a layer's name will make it stop for a while on that frame. How it looks like in GIMP: You don't have to setup delays in every single frame. You can, for example when wanting to let's say put a delay of 2000ms in two frames and put 40ms in the rest, then you can simply add "(2000ms)" to the two frames and the rest fill automatically during exporting, where it asks what delay to set for frames, where it is unspecified. You can also during exporting tick a box, that will overwrite ALL layers and set the delay you'll enter there for all frames. [◄◄] GO BACK TO WHERE YOU'VE PAUSED (BEGINNING OF STEP 8) RESULT: With delay set to 40 ms: With delay set to 15 (minimum) ms: With the delays (with stops) set manually from Step +: THE END [ I◄ ] BACK TO THE TOP FAQ Q: What is the maximum possible delay of one frame? A: To be honest I don't know. I was using values like (20000ms) and it was working. I wasn't using higher values, but I guess you could go much higher than that. Q: How to edit the gif when I'd like to move the bar and stuff? A: That's why I told to save the project and keep the raw version. After you'll merge the layers and export the gif, it is quite difficult to edit. Having the 'raw' version will allow you to start from step 6, which is easier than struggling with each frame, though it also depends on complexity. Q: The gifs that you were posting all over the place - are they all made that way? A: Yes, all of my gifs were made using GIMP. Even this one: Q: Why it takes ages to export a gif? A: The more layers gif will have, the more time it will require to render. This process is not visible, so just wait. Q: I don't have GIMP, but I would like to download it, where I can do this and it is free? A: Yes, this program is free and you can download it from here. Q: I don't like GIMP - I'm too pro for this and I'm using Photoshop, how can I make a gif there? A: Sorry, no idea. I'm using GIMP. Q: Can I do this in Paint? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) A: I have no idea, but I doubt it ~ haven't checked, at least. Q: How big and long gifs I can make? A: I was making gifs that had about 200 frames and besides slightly long export time I've not encountered any issue, so I'm not sure if technically there's any limit. Q: For a comparison, how many frames your gifs have? A: My MLP Progress bar has 20 frames and each frame have delay set to 40ms. The MLP banner above the progress bar has 24 frames and also with delay set to 40ms for each frame. Q: lol Riki, how much time did you spent making this tutorial? A: 6 hours. Yes, I have really spent 6 hours on that (from ~8:00PM to ~2:00AM) working along the tutorial to give as much accurate images as I could and then polishing stuff at the end. If you'll have any questions or if there's a problem with something (grammar issue/typo/other) then let me know! ^^ I hope it will be useful for somebody! 15. Hello everybody! I'd like to ask about Multi-Currency Transactions. I know, that many people are using Paypal and now that brings me a question, because I'm generally distrustful towards things like this. What is your opinion about Paypal? Is it free and safe? How does the transaction process look like? ~ Is it easy to move gold from Paypal to Bank account? Anyone had a chance to make multi-currency transactions through this? (For example I don't know ~ a transaction with $, while having different currency and vice versa ~ or something like this) Just some questions before doing some serious things. 16. "Frozen Dream" is a simple NES-like 8-bit game. Your objective is to 'slide' to your destination point, while avoiding obstacles, collecting bonuses and defeating enemies at the end of the stages. The action takes place on a mountain during Winter Holidays. Generally, there's no story at the moment. It is a simple NES-like game. However, the story will be added in future. > It is a game made only in 5 days! (at the current version) > Unique gameplay (as for RPG Maker) > Game uses only custom scripts, 99.9% default-script FREE Besides 'Input System' and 'Text Cache', the game uses only custom scripts written by me, from the title screen - to credits. Crashes? Blame on me! ^^ > 100% My custom graphics - RTP / FREELY AVAILABLE RESOURCES FREE Everything looks silly? Blame on me! ^^ > 100% My custom Sound effects created just for this game Quickly made farts and crashes - enjoy! x3 > Semi-Random Stage Generator - stages are generated randomly, but there are some pre-made parts. An obstacle conveniently covering the whole path? You're unlucky Blame on me! ^^ > Custom very simple battle system These mechanics will blow your mind! jk > Simple and user friendly menus > Permanent upgrades - each try will be easier than the last one > Game in 'Kinda Advanced 8-bit Style' > Convenient Autosave - game automatically saves your progress each time you'll enter the map screen > Arrow Keys or WSAD - move / navigate through menus > Z or SPACE - accept / attack enemy > ESC - pause game > Each try will be easier than the previous one, so keep trying, upgrades are kept. > In battle, keep pressing both, 'Z' and 'SPACE'. It's easier and more effective. > The obstacles are semi-randomly generated- that means, that some items may be stuck in an obstacle. Also if you're really unlucky, you might get two logs near each other in very convenient positions, that may be impossible to dodge. However, I programmed some 'presets', so sometimes placement will be neat and recognizable. (I had no time for programming more, so I added randomness) RTP Requirement - No Filesize - 29,7 MB
  17. Hello! I wanted to decrease the size of my signature by removing some content from it, however, the forums liked by signature apparently and don't want me to change that. The error itself is clear to me, because it clearly says what's wrong. However! The dimensions are interesting. That was the other way around before. Somehow I managed to put them in here in the first place, so that's why I'm curious. (The error applies to images that are currently in my signature) What I can only do at the moment is to remove the whole signature and use these funny dimensions to make a giant and thin signature, but I think it should not be done. (= Thank you!

  20. Hello everybody! My name is Rikifive and I'm from Poland. (= Working With RPG Maker Beginning... The very first RPG Maker I worked with was 'RPG Maker' for Playstation 1. There I was kinda introduced to the basics (databasing and some eventing), but nothing more than that. At first I didn't knew what that program is for, I just saw text, text, and more text all over the place. How my work looked like? Started new project > Made all database stuff > Started making first maps / story > back to database (improving stuff) > Abandon Ship (after ~150 hours) Further Progress? - Nope. The next RPG Maker was 'RPG Maker 3' for Playstation 2. This one was kinda weird, the whole 3D stuff was really clunky, but that was actually kinda cool. How my work looked like? Started new project > Made all database stuff > Started making first maps / story > back to database (improving stuff) > Abandon Ship (also after ~150 hours) Inspiration? Why am I here? I wasn't interested in making games anymore, but some time ago, I found a ponified RM game, that made me interested, so I started playing this. After more than 20 hours I managed to beat that game, the fun fact is, that game could be beaten in less than 1 hour, because there actually wasn't that much content - I just kinda enjoyed that and played very slowly. Sadly, that game was totally broken - it has many, many features, where 75% of them were just not used - useless spam, cheap effects. And then I thought: "If such a broken game was fun to play - then I'll make a game by myself! It shouldn't be that hard!" and that's how I was introduced to RPG Maker VX Ace. New, Better Experience. When I first launched RMVXAce, I got scared - This is the first time when I got access to the game's code. When I saw multiple walls of text, then I decided to run away and Abandon Ship right after the start. The next day I was thinking: "Hmm... There should be some info on the internet, let's give it a chance" and that's how I started - putting my first scripts, configuring, customizing them and slowly progress was being made. I never did any art, scripting and stuff, so all of this was new for me, but now - I'm capable of doing some UI, Pixel Art, and even writing my own scrips to change look of the whole menus - all of this ~ thanks to RM. Personality Basic Information I love to have fun and interact with people. Interests Games I LOVE LOCAL CO-OP GAMES! Playing games with my brother is the best thing ever. Other games I like: Sandboxes, Rogue-like, Survivals, Horrors, Hack'n'Slashes, Turn based RPG's. Console games (NES and PS1 the most) I like making my own stuff. I always had fun with in-game editors and now I'm able to make my own game! Music I love chiptune / 8 bit music (especially NES-like sounding). Movies I love animated movies like "Ice Age", Disney stuff and MLP apparently. I rarely watch some "normal" movies, though I do enjoy many of these. Ok, I think that's enough of me. Looking forward to interact with all of you! (=
  21. Well... This is RPG Maker related forum, so let's have an RPG battle! Rules have changed! RULES The BOSS has 1000 Maximum HP. We have two Actors: Eric and Natalie; both have 100 maximum HP. Each turn (post) both actors take their moves. Both can attack, use skills, spells and buffs. Avoid casting OP skills/spells/buffs, keep this game balanced. Also, our actors have HP REGENERATION, which recovers their HP by 1 each turn (post). Since real-time battle cannot be simulated: I will act as the BOSS once each day, no exceptions. His skill, damage and target will be randomized by Random Number Generator. Boss has two skills: ATTACK & FIRE BREATH. ATTACK: Deals 10-25 damage to one actor. FIRE BREATH: Deals 6 - 15 damage to all actors. Only Natalie can heal actors. Still for very low amount ~6 in total. Adding more characters is prohibited. Using OP skills, spells and buffs is prohibited. By OP I mean "Eric uses invulnerable buff - they don't take any damage for 5 turns! OR "Eric uses Fiery Fart! - Boss took 100 damage! Actors damage is very low. They can hit for around 1-5 damage. It's a simple countdown game with RPG elements. If you notice someone breaking the rules, ignore *OP* stuff or his/her post. Don't push that further. Let's see how far we can get. LET'S CHECK THE POWER OR THE RPG MAKER VX ACE COMMUNITY! Maybe if we kill that boss we'll get experience, so that making games in RPG maker would be easier for us. --- LET'S FIGHT! --- > BOSS ATTACKS! > HERO TOOK 25 DAMAGE! [bOSS HP] 1000 [HERO HP] 75 > YOUR TURN!

Hello, I would like to report weird behavior of 'Status Updates'. The broken status here is the Jackus's status. When clicking 'Show all # comments' it actually eats all comments and leaves nothing ~ just 'add a comment'. Here is what it looks like:
