Full details can be found on the newest blog entry here. ~~~~~ SUMMARY ~~~~~ Legends Of Illarion 2 is the long awaited prequel to the 2009 RM2K3 game Legends Of Illarion. The prequel takes place in ancient Illarion at the dawn of time, many centuries before the events of the first game. I consider it mostly to be an old school type of rpg reminiscent of FF6, Lufia 2, etc. You don't need to play LOI before playing LOI2. You can play either game before the other and there won't be too much spoilers involved. The first LOI contains a larger more diverse world with more interrelated story elements and characters, while LOI2 is a little easier, smaller, and more straight forward than the first game. ~~~~~ STORY ~~~~~ "We are but mortals who cannot fathom the true nature of the gods. Whether they are kind and benevolent, or vengeful and angry, I cannot say. The only thing that is certain, is that their power is real, and we must always be wary..." The world of Illarion is at its infancy, having been created by the gods for only mere centuries. An Entity appears, born from the evil growing in the very hearts of mortals, bringing destruction and chaos to the realms. The gods await worthy heroes to appear and defeat the Entity. However, as time passes by, none step forth to save Illarion. In desperation, one goddess intervenes in mortal affairs, using deception to cause a group of mortals to begin a journey to defeat the Entity. But do they truly fight to save Illarion, or do they fight to fulfill their own selfish motives?     *Note: This game is still in it's very early stages and subject to change! Torn from your everyday existence, you must survive a war torn dimension while dealing with things you barely knew about yourself. Welcome to Amachyria, a strange realm where two dimensions overlap in even stranger ways. Two different races have inhabited this realm for as long as time can remember: the Elder beings, and humans not too different from us, living in relative harmony. By the time you get there of course, everything has all gone downhill after a new monarch took over, and now this quirky, strange realm has been plunged into war. Of which, you are now caught in the middle. Amachyria is hardly the only strange thing around, you have lived in your old home for ages, so why does this place seem so familiar? Where do these powers come from? Only the guardian can answer that, and she won't talk until this war is put to rest. She seems to be hiding something, but staying alive long enough to find out will take strength, wits, and the ability to deal with the strange companions that will join you on your quest to stop this endless fighting. Be clever and take the hints the universe gives to you, and more pieces of this puzzle will reveal themselves to you. A good warning to keep in mind, however, is that the queen is not the greatest threat you will face on this journey, and certainly not the last. Divided into five distinct areas (That you're allowed into anyways), all provide something... interesting. to the world of Amacyria, probably things you take for granted here. The first that comes to mind is the empty fields. This was probably a really cool place at one time, but torn apart by war, it's just wilderness and buildings now. This is where you start, and may even return to at some point. Nonetheless, many things you learn to survive are learned here, but the only thing that matters anymore is the guardian's temple, which stands abandoned and yet perfectly intact. If you ever become lost, the guardian may provide some insight. Then there's the Valley of Color, where if you're eyes aren't burning out of your head from over-saturation, you're not doing it right. Everything here is always very bright and vivid, except for the people, who prefer pastel shades strangely enough. All the color in Amycyria is mined here to be used for all sorts of things. Why, if it didn't exist, everything would probably look like a blank coloring book. And we couldn't have that, now could we? Next up comes with Peaks of Equation, a strange place where everything seems to have been cut to razor precision at perfect angles. Nothing about this place looks natural in the slightest, even the flowers seem to grow in textbook geometric formations, and all sorts of neat things can be discovered in the mountain caves. Neat, that is, if you enjoy math, algebra, and the like. Even if you don't, you do have to appreciate their use in life, and this is where it all comes from. In Amycyria at least. Semi-finally, is Sugar plains, which is just the stuff of dentist nightmares as it sounds like. The grass is candy, the trees are candy, even the houses. the wildlife, and the water are all some kind of candy. They've developed a special sort of magic to help normal plants grow, which is the only reason hypertension doesn't run rampant, but I wouldn't suggest breathing the air too long without brushing your teeth anyways. And flossing, just to be on the safe side. Your journey will no doubt bring you across many strange things, places, and especially people. Many are there to help you, some seem ambiguous, and another just wants your money. First, let's define three terms: Human - your average, everyday person Elder Being - A strange race of beings that mostly appear as shadows. However, the more human they look, the more powerful they are. Shifter - People gifted with the power to take the shape of some creature or another, mostly at will Isleen, the main character The little girl you play as! despite her small size and young age, she is very smart and won't stand to be pushed around. Andra, the guardian The mysterious guardian of something. Despite her ambiguous title, she seems to be the one who put you here, and the one with all the answers. Atheria, the priestess Atheria is one of the few Elder beings who managed to resist the queen's control and escape. She heads the resistance movement against the queen and helps other survivors. Jevith, the teacher A patient Elder being a few years older than Atheria, he is kind and peaceable, and thus has no love for this war. But he was a fighter once, and will teach you everything he knows. Princess Veria, the fifth A native citizen to the valley of color, she is cheerful and more than a little quirky, sometimes seeming to be in a different world entirely. Rith, caught between worlds Hailing from the Peaks of Equation, Rith seems neither Elder being nor Shifter, and isn't welcome with either of them. No one is sure how his impossible existence came about, but it's usually the least of his worries. Camille, the merchant If there is two things Camille loves, it's collecting things and money, so he sells things he collects for money. Don't let his cute appearance fool you, he can lug around things (and money!) several times his weight. *Note that a lot of this is all a work in progress and subject to change The battle system (Getting an overhaul, temporary screenshot!) I've mostly kept some development in my journal/blog/thing and I think I'm far enough to get ball rolling.   16. ​Abstract: An epic tale about the struggle between the people of Mundar and the dark forces of evil, one which transcends time and space. ​Genre: Classic story driven fantasy RPG. ​Average Demo Time: 1 - 2hrs (Depending on whether you're a player who looks for secrets/talks to everyone or a player who just goes straight for the objective.) ​Game Progression: (1-5%) Hard to say really, I have the broad outline of the story written down, like the main events and story points of where the game is going and how it'll end, but as many of you must know, as you progress along through the game all kinds of little details come to you that not only enrich the story but all lengthen it. The current demo is just the "prologue", much like in a novel. It sets the tone and sets up the events of the main story to play out but in actuality is a very short piece of what's to come. Story: Set in medieval times on the world known as Mundar, the kingdom of Haligonia has been enjoying a time of peace for the past 16 years since the conclusion of the War of Nations, a war in which King Faliard of Brictonia suddenly crossed the ocean with his armies and attempted to conquer Haligonia. Some say Faliard was possessed by evil forces and was driven insane by voices in his head, though nobody knows for sure. One day, on the southern shores of Haligonia, at a small settlement called Newbark Town, true evil suddenly and without warning appears and starts slaughtering everything in its wake, looking for someone they call The Ancient. Miraculously this seemingly unstoppable evil is contained and peace resumes, the people of Mundar never knowning what even happened. It would be another 16 years of peace before once again the evil surfaces, and this time it's here to stay, that is unless a group of ordinary people thrown into extraordinary situations can find a way to end this cycle of evil once and for all, if they can't, the world of Mundar will undoubtedly be consumed and destroyed forever. Characters: Raiden Raiden is a serious well-mannered man. He lives in Newbark Town and works as the town hunter. He fought in the War of Nations as a young squire but gave up pursuits of becoming a knight for a simpler life as a hunter. Respectful and caring, he will always be there for you when you need him. He grew up at Oakland Castle with his best friend Darien but has no real family of his own, so his friends and neighbors are everything to him. His strong sense of honor and loyalty guides his choices and life. Darien ​ ​Darien is arguably the best knight in all of Haligonia and he played an integral part in many battles during the War of Nations. Now however, in times of peace he lives in Newbark Town with his wife Marilynn and their two twin baby boys. Even though he's technically retired he still trains and patrols various parts of Haligonia with his dragon partner Gardock. Honorable and loyal to the crown and kingdom of Haligonia, he would give his life fighting to protect it. Marilynn Marilynn is the wife of Darien, she is a quiet kind-hearted woman with patience and love for everyone, she wouldn't even hurt a fly. Though she is a very honest person there is something mysterious about her. Darien and Raiden first met her a few years before the War of Nations one day while walking through the forest. She was being attacked by a bandit and Darien saved her. Her life before that day is completely unknown as she refuses to say anything about it other than saying that her home was destroyed and she had nowhere to go. Darien brought her back to Oakland Castle and got her a job washing laundry. Before long they fell in love and then a few years after the war, when Newbark Town was first founded, they got married and decided to start a new life together in the small settlement. Gardock Gardock is an extremely smart dragon that has a special bond with his partner Darien and they have been inseparable since Darien was just a little boy. Gardock, a lonesome dragon, too smart to relate to other dragons, lived his life in the mountains near Oakland Castle. One day Darien, just five years old, stumbled across Gardock's Cave and they came face to face. To Gardock's surprise though, Darien didn't run or scream, he just stood there for a moment then began talking to him. After that Darien would return almost everyday with food and he would sit down on a rock near Gardock and just talk to him, Gardock can understand English but can't speak it so he would just listen. One day dragon hunters found Gardock and nearly killed him but out of nowhere, Darien, just a small boy, came flying in from behind and killed two of the hunters, Gardock just watched on as this boy fought for him. Darien was struck down and almost killed himself, but when the hunters realized who he was they took off. Ever since that day Gardock and Darien have been best friends, something no man and dragon have ever shared before. Gairick Gairick is a retired war general who was given the position of commander of Newbark Town for his years of service. Because of the peace times and his age, he spends most of his time sitting around the Newbark Keep with his men drinking brew. He's kind of an asshole but can be relied upon when the fighting starts.   21. -Summary- This game is a prototype. It was my first attempt at making a game, and it suffers from me having a lack of any experience. It will not be canonically associated with the full Time Whisper game when it comes out, nor anything else really. Time Whisper is an RPG about walking in other people's minds. You play in an open world, where you can go up to any person you come across, and enter their mind. Each persons mind is like a little world of it's own, where you can read their thoughts, cure mental illnesses, just mess with them, and other stuff like that. I'm using a script called Khas Ultra lighting, which doesn't legally allow me to give out open source versions, so I had to use encrypted files. However it is safe.
