Download through Itch.io by clicking this link! Synopsis "You walked unspeakable distances, until you found this peculiar forest. A glade immersed you in peace. As you kept walking, you found a place full of life—Heartland. Everything here gives you the peace you have been craving for. Yet you keep trying opening your eyes. You do not remember anything about yourself. If you do open them, you will get to see the truth. And sometimes, the pitch-black darkness is a better place to stay in." The Game Heartland is a narrative-based, story-rich, psychological-esque, linear RPG with a different take on battles. The gameplay is rather straight-forward, being based solely on the completion of the story. Though to make it to the end, you'll first have to face off familiar faces from your past through one-in-one, strategical, meaningful and decisive battles. All the events of the game and your actions are narrated in a second person point of view by a narrator. Through him, you will get to know the mistery amongst Heartland—and you yourself. The game heavily focuses on atmosphere to engage the player into the narrative, relying upon a plethora of nature sounds, beautiful scenarios and excellent background music which will take you in a singular journey to the discovering of the very truth. Battles have a peculiar twist, in which classic commands such as "attack", "guard" and even "items" are completely removed. Instead, you will get to choose between physical (Swordplay) and magic (Sorceries) techniques, as well as the Remnants bequeathed from your enemies, as you defeat them. Each opponent is a boss-like fight, and you will have to find the best skill composition to a strategy in order to defeat your foes. Heartland features no gameover, but the game won't advance until you win. Showcase (Click thumbnails to enlarge!) Author Notes Patch 1.01a As of 29/11/2018, the patch 1.01a was released in order to fix the obnoxious collision bugs that the game had,\. as well as other minor issues. With this patch, the game now promises to be fully playable without breaking immersion. The patch is allocated in the Itch.io page, so don't forget to grab it from there because it's vital!

Choose Your Own Someone Else's Adventure! I thought up a new game to try out! Remember the books I'm referencing? Where you read the first page, and it gave you choices to turn to different pages for different outcomes? This is similar. I'm going to start things of in a kind of mundane manner, to give it a neutral beginning. Then the next poster chooses one of the options I gave, takes over the story for a bit, describing what happens for that choice, and leaves it at another set of choices for the next poster, and so on. Feel free to get the character in to any good/bad/dangerous/awkward/weird situation you can think of, but unlike the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books, no dead ends. Just a few rules to point out: - Don't kill off the player character - The narrator speaks in italics - (Put Out of Character comments in parenthesis) And, that's it, anything else goes! Let's get started! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A lone warrior trudges slowly along the road, descending out of the mountain pass, exhausted from his travels. Just as he considers stopping to make camp for the night, he scans the horizon, and notices a small village off in the distance. He smiles to himself, seeing dim light glowing out of a few windows, promising the warmth of a fire burning in the hearth. As he draws closer, he can make out that the two buildings alight are the inn and pub. Making his way up to the gate, the lone guard calls out to him. “Hail, and well met, traveler! What brings you to our gates so late this night?†Looking up at the guard, you lower the hood of your cloak, and reply, “Well met to you as well, my friend. I am but a weary traveler, looking for a warm meal and a warm bed. Will you permit me to enter?†The guard nods, turning the winch to raise the portcullis. As you enter, the guard stops you, saying, “I won’t have no trouble out of you while you’re here, right?†You look at the guard for a moment, and slowly shake your head. Satisfied, the guard returns to his post, and releases the winch holding the gate. The portcullis slams in to place behind you as you quickly scan the town, finding the pub and the inn. Do you… Enter the pub? -OR- Enter the inn?

The town of Auras'ton is an amazing mixture of ingenuity and poverty. The streets of the shore-town, a part of the city built on stilts over sandy shores and shallow waters, is made of large, dark timbers. Cabins floated out on the sea, as the city stretched out into piers. But most impressive of all is what looms overhead. One of the great wonders of the world, the Great Cliffs, stands for almost a mile into the sky and stretch seemingly forever in each direction. And hanging off of it is the cliff-town; a part of Auras'ton that hangs by giant chains attached to the cliff-side. Stairways and homes carved into or hanging from the cliffs climb all the way to the top. Tykronic constables march in the streets, Humans mostly, with the occasional Nymph. They strut about with their brown uniforms, with Tykrons banner hung over both shoulders. The red and gold banners, checkered with a griffin in each one, have come to represent the nation. Their white hats are particularly strange, being egg-shaped and flattened like fins. All the constables, it seems, are outsiders. The queen doesn't seem to trust edgelanders with policing themselves, so less and less are there Forestrian constables these days. 'These days' have been strange, haven't they? You must be getting cabin fever by now, having been stuck in this town since the Ministry of War declared a quarantine on it. No one in or out without permission of the ministries or the queen. The Ministry of war is all but cornering the Crow's Army, the thieves guild of Auras'ton that has been terrorizing the people of the Uplands Village, and this quarantine is going to let them do it. Rumors have spread fast about the Uplands village, the resort area that the rich northerners stay to enjoy the scenic everwood atop the cliffs, just a few miles south. The rumors say that the Village is flattened, burned to the ground with no survivors. To the military, though they would not admit it, these are more than rumors. Some of them have even seen the ruins first hand. The superstitious are calling it the Awakening of the Behemoth, a creature once worshiped by the heathen barbarians. Legend said it could burn down forests, call upon blizzards and slay armies. Constables stop and question everyone. Especially at the Chain Guild, an organization dedicated to promoting jobs and building up the community, but this one has long been suspected of housing, or even employing, members of the Crow's Army. Though that could just be the constables bias. After all, the guild houses many needy people.

I have decided to move my Chain of reformation RP forum to a dedicated site, so admins will delete the current premium forum pretty soon. Instead, I decided to just open up various threads in the roleplaying sections of multiple forums all set in the same universe. So, here it is! The Chain of Reformation world is a Fantasy/steam-punk setting. Their are no electronics, but mechanical things like trains, blunderbusts, clockworks and anything else that you can imagine in a steam-punk setting are allowed. At the same time, there are fantastic beasts, magic and artifacts. The Lore for the thread; up to this point: I'll post some races here you guys can RP as or draw ideas from, but for the most part you are allowed to come up with your own. Before you post in the thread, post a character app here to introduce your character. Follow this form: EDIT: Fixed Typos
