    Darkblood Chronicles - Steam

STORY Omaj - Defy Expectations Omaj is a group of individuals that defy expectations by presenting captivating visual stories that open the imagination and inspire critical thinking. Join the retro JRPG revival movement with Darkblood Chronicles, the story about a young woman named Samantha. Her adventure begins with a strange foreboding nightmare, wherein she sees herself atop a guillotine with a hooded man standing above her, axe at the ready. She is startled awake as the axe comes down, but it seems to be just her dad, knocking at her bedroom door. It is early in the morning, though the sky is still as dark as night, and rains pours with ferocity. Sam arrives at school only to find that the power is off and the road back home has mysteriously vanished. Meeting up with an acquaintance of hers, Ethan, they are led around the school by a shadowy figure. They corner the figure, which turns out to be a quiet and mysterious girl named Sin, and realize she was manipulating them into following her all along. What comes next is the culmination of the strange occurrences that happened since the morning's wake. With the flick of her wrist, Sin opens a vortex to the dark realm, dragging Samantha and Ethan with her. In the journey that follows, Sam hopes to learn why she has been dragged into the dark realm, and the mysterious circumstances surrounding a tragedy that occurred two years prior. Unravel the mystery, and face your darkest fears in Darkblood Chronicles. FEATURES • Survival horror RPG, featuring a dark, mature and complex story. • Dialogue choices that determine one of five possible endings. • No random encounters. Explore and solve puzzles at your own convenience. • Active-time battle system reminiscent of old-school JRPGs. • Imbue Samantha with over 40 unique skills to create your own unique play style. • 3 fully fleshed out main characters and over 40 playable support characters. • Over 20 hours of gripping and addictive game play. 3. Canvas This is a game for those who love to explore, experiment, and discover. Welcome. Story: Arrym is a Wraith, one of an elite band of thieves notorious for taking on big jobs. He has all the talent in the world, but what little motivation he once had has all but dried up. Branak has the opposite problem. He is a Wisp, a newly inducted member of the guild, with seemingly misplaced dreams of greatness. He is determined to prove himself in the eyes of his superiors and take his place among the Wraiths. They are partners. In the midst of completing a job and evading their sworn enemies, the Knights of the Thorn, they are presented with a bigger job. Much bigger...and far more noble than they would typically agree to. Battle System: Almost everything on-map in Canvas is evented, including the battle system. Use an assortment of pixel-based attacks and abilities to dispatch your enemies in a variety of ways. You can anger them with arrows, stun them with bombs, throw them into each other with gusts of wind, and more! Each on-map enemy was carefully crafted with its own behavior, movement style, and methods of attack to provide the player with challenging and often thought-provoking encounters. Your on-map weapon will change appearance based on the weapon you have equipped. Features: Character swapping - each with their own unique "tool" and advantage/disadvantages when it comes to combat (Weapon range, attack speed, etc.) A variety of shared tools/abilities acquired throughout the game, useful for combat and puzzle solving. Item crafting Area maps Bestiary Glossary Characters grow based on your AP allocation A free-jump system that works hand in hand with my... Robust elevation system - Ties in with projectiles, tools, line of sight, jumping, etc. Puzzles aplenty! - You will need to experiment with your tools, and then come up with new and creative ways use and combine them. Mini-games galore! - As you explore the world of Canvas, you will discover many evented mini-games to add variety to the gameplay. They are all fully-interactive game systems as opposed to pass/fail based on a number or stat systems. Lockpicking (2 versions) Mining Fishing Pickpocketing Blacksmithing Persuasion Screenshots: New Screenshots: * The game is around 15 hours long The game is unencrypted, and for those who own RPG Maker VX Ace, I encourage you to poke around and explore. 4. The next installment of Uzi’s Drugged Adventures is here, and it’s filled to the peak with brand new features that make the game even more addicting. Two new stats: LUST and HIGH Over 70 different types of ammunition A brand new Uzi sprite with removable clothes Chest content is random, making the game extremely repayable. Summary: Uzi is a crazy little fixer that is addicted to pretty much every drug she can get her hands on. But how did she get this way? Nobody knows. The truth lies deep with in her mind. Even though she doesn’t care to know the truth, the truth wants to be heard. After getting high, Uzi falls into one of her delusional states. But this time her mind has plans for her. It wants her to remember that which she has forgotten. Delusion Summary: Uzi is accidentally summoned by strange man. With no use for her, he decides to send her on a quest to capture the Princess of Shiriville. Gameplay: This game is like a classic Zelda shooter. Enemies won’t attack you unless they see you, and different enemies have different ranges of view. Some enemies you’ll want to kill before they see you, while others you will want to avoid all together. There is a LOT to do with 35 quests, 20 achievements, and 3 mini-games. +17: Alcohol Reference, Blood and Gore, Crude Humor, Drug Reference, Partial Nudity, Sexual Themes, Sexual Violence, Strong Language, Use of Alcohol, Use of Drugs, Violence. This game does not promote the use of drugs, alcohol, or anything else horrible you can think of. Playtime: 4-5 hours. 2 hours for the main story and 2-3 hours for everything else. Character Bio: Name: Uzi Personality: Insane; Crazy; Silly Human Type: Fixer Main Weapon: Duel Uzis About: Uzi is an insane druggy that is addicted to anything that she can get her hands on. It’s shocking that she’s not dead yet from overdosing. Rika normally pranks her or uses her as target practice. The bullets don’t kill her because she accidentally equipped herself with REN. She thought it was a drug. Known Issues: There are no known issues. If you run into any problems please let me know so I can fix them. 5. It has been more than a year since I've started to work on A Long Road Home. Which started as a basic project to get to know the engine, turned out to be a full game, with a decent ammount of gameplay. Now, the game is finished, and it is available for purchase on itch.io and Steam. Check the game out on these links: Itch.io store page Steam store page "A Long Road Home puts players in the role of a young man (with any name of your choice) who becomes wounded and separated from his family when they are attacked along the way to their new home. Behind this plot is a secret cult "led by an alien being called Amuna, who is able to travel between the infinite numbers of planes (dimensions)." Having conquered numerous worlds already, she now has her sights set on this one, and aims to use our hero for her own devious ends. If the protagonist is to reunite with his mother and sister, he must venture through "catacombs, secret temples and frozen mountains" while escaping the clutches of the evil invaders." - AdventureGamers.com The gameplay of A Long Road Home harkens back to the adventure games of old, thus featuring a mouse driven interface, item management and clever, interesting puzzles which the player has to overcome in the game. The game offers 5-6 hours of gameplay, an interesting story, and a captivating soundtrack which creates a fantastic atmosphere in A Long Road Home. The game has been greenlit on Steam, so you can see it on the store after a few weeks, after everything is sorted out. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=802297803 If you are unsure about the game, you can already check out the demo, downloadable from either of these links: Demo download (itch.io) Demo download (IndieDB) I would also like to give credit to the following people, who provided resources to my game either through DLCs, Restaff or otherwise: RPG Maker VX Ace RTP by Enterbrain/Degica (rpgmakerweb.com) Graphics: Windowskins by Maker Systems - RPG Maker Source Windowskins by MonDez Lightning Effect by BustedEd Night Sky parallax by Luchino Transition Vortex by Matthew Ashworth Windowskins by Matthew Ashworth Iconset-small by Adventure Tile Starter Pack - [Copyright]© Celianna Windowskin by RURAL FARM TILES - [Copyright]© Celianna WWSwitches by - WILD WEST TILES PACK - [Copyright]© Sherman3D High Fantasy I Resource Pack - [Copyright]© PVGames PocketKnife by Andinator Tilesets by Candacis Tilesets by Liberty Windowskin from Luna Engine Additional Artwork: Rubén Carral Music: Fireside Tales by Darren Curtis Labyrinth Of Lost Dreams by Darren Curtis The Mystic Le Fay by Darren Curtis Illusory Realm by Darren Curtis Hollow's Eve Ritual by Darren Curtis Drifting Through Space by Darren Curtis The Witch's Lair by Darren Curtis My Dark Passenger by Darren Curtis Unmatched Treachery by Darren Curtis Into Oblivion by Darren Curtis The House in the Middle of Nowhere by Darren Curtis The Horror Returns by JStewartMusic Whispering Angels by JStewarMusic The Magician's Sorrow by JStewarMusic Fantasy - Sad by Joel Steudler FANTASY STARTER MUSIC PACK - [Copyright]© Joel Steudler Hatching Grounds by Joel Steudler FUTURISTIC ATMOSPHERES - [Copyright]© Joel Steudler Either Side of Eternity (Instrumental) - REBEL RAPTURE MUSIC PACK - [Copyright]© Murray Atkinson Deserted Streets by Eric Matyas - www.soundimage.org Horror Game Menu by Eric Matyas - www.soundimage.org Too Quiet by Eric Matyas - www.soundimage.org The Darkness Below by Eric Matyas - www.soundimage.org Drinking Alone by Eric Matyas - www.soundimage.org RPG Theme v001 by Eric Matyas - www.soundimage.org The Cursed Rose by Allusion Sound Effects: Pablo Zumarraga, aesqe, dheming, Richard Frohlich, zandernoriega, Dreadshadow, Alastair Cameron, acekasbo, RICHERlandTV, Audionautics, qubodup, cameronmusic, thebigdawg22, newagesoup, LittleRobotSoundFactory, y89312 Scripts: Yanfly Engine Ace - Ace Core Engine by Yanfly Yanfly Engine Ace - Ace Message System by Yanfly Yanfly Engine Ace - Parallax Lock by Yanfly Yanfly Engine Ace - System Options by Yanfly Victor Engine - Basic Module by Victor Sant Victor Engine - Fog and Overlay by Victor Sant Victor Engine - Light Effects by Victor Sant Audio Fade In by Maker Systems – RPG Maker Source Super Simple Mouse Script by Shaz Mouse HUD by Evgenij Remember Event Position by Shaz Galv's Use Item on Event by Galv Non-combat Menu by mjshi External Text by Enelvon Word Wrapping by KilloZapit Simple Text Input by Tsukihime Graphical Object Global Reference by Mithran V's Custom Animated Title Scene by Vindaca D13x Core Module by Dekita D13x Keyboard Name Input by Dekita Text Sound Effect by Zerbu Autosave by DoctorTodd Crystal Engine - Variable Windowskin by CrystalNoel Full Screen Prompt by Bigace360
  6. The Book Of Resurrection Background Hello there! Back in April of 2015, I started a small RPG Maker project called "The Book Of Resurrection". This was only intended to be a small game for me to play on, however eleven months later I've decided that I'd like to release this RPG that I created for free. The length of the game is a little over two hours and has now been officially released on GameJolt and IndieDB. Story The Book Of Resurrection takes place in a small town where four friends (Timmy, Rick, Bert and Tera) try to resurrect a dead punk rocker called Syd Victorious. Instead of resurrecting their idol, they released monsters and zombies on their once beloved town. With the help of a mysterious person only known as "Ninja", they must stop this curse that they accidentally released. 7. I am hoping to find/create a system where player characters change their sprite based on costumes that they are wearing. For example the player will have a default outfit and sprite but it can be changed if they find and equip a costume (separate from armor items) in which case their sprite will change to that costume. I am a bit of a newbie to RPG Maker VX Ace, and don’t know if this is doable with the base tools or if I need to find a script here. Additionally I will have a party member who follows the player, and I am interested in having a costume system for them as well. I would need to know how to get their sprite to change as well, and I would prefer if I could have the player turn around and change their costume through a dialogue/choice menu, but I don’t know how I could get the player to interact with the follower behind them. Thanks in advance
  8. GAME HAS NO TITLE YET. - Little story & Description - This game will be about Yuki, a young woman who has almost finished her degree in music. During the week break, she decided to go on ''the Trip of her life'' with her friends to Ste-Adele, a very big, modern city. Unfortunatly, shortly after her arrival, she gets kidnapped by a vampire. The vampire brings Yuki and 3 of her friends back to her den. Another, more ancient vampire named Sebastian turns Yuki and release all her friends without harming them. This game will be a semi open world RPG (the first 1~2 hours are linear) in the modern era with a variety of main and optional quests (you will have a quest log). Most of the game will happen in the huge city of Ste-Adele. It will be filled with intense, touching and funny moments. Packed with moral dilemma where you will be the chooser. Most vampire show/games ive seen make becoming a vampire look like it's no big deal and in some case it seems like it's the best thing that could ever happen to you. This game will deeply explore how a real human would feel towards himself, his friends and family. I will do my best to make you feel the bloodlust struggle and how deeply disturbing it would for a fledgling. Don't worry, it won't be a whining fest ! - Feature - This is very early and it is very very subject to change. There's likely more ''special feature'' than will be displayed. - Yuki and other vamps have 2 or more action per turn in fights which allow more depths and strategy. - Sneaking - Quest log - Recipe (soon) - Several out-of-battle vampic powers. The power of compelling humans and seduction are the only ones that are 100% confirmed to be there. There will be more for sure. - Other notes - - Couple screenshots - - Demo Info (read before downloading) - - Demo Download - - VLOG - A quick view of a part of Ste-Adele. - Critique - If you have any suggestions or comments, please feel free to post them. If you have anything to say regarding enemy/item/spell balance, please do comment. If the story is unclear or you feel like there's too much talking or not enough, you can also comment on that. if you find any bugs tiny or big, please report them. The sewers are supposed to be a dark labyrinth so sometime i purposely made long path(not that long) without much doodads or details to fit in with the dark maze feel. Do you feel that vibe or do you just feel like some places are empty ? My english isn't the best. It's not horrible either. Catching important english grammatical/syntax errors ? Please take 2 seconds to pm me them. - Credit - - CHANGELOGS -
  9. Abstract: Magecraft is an indie developed A-RPG, reminiscent of the oldschool games of the SEGA / Snes era. Genre: A-RPG Average Demo Time: Varies a lot. I would say around two and a half to three hours. Game Progression: The game should be around five chapters. The game is at chapter two at the moment. Recruitment: Any help is always appreciated. Testers, coders, anyone willing to be part of this project with relevant experience is very much so welcome. Trying to write this spoiler free, keeping it as vague as possible... Synopsis: In a land where the many fall under the complete dominion of a small oligarchy the political climate reaches a pinnacle of tension. On the brink of war, the old alliances have fallen and the rulers of the land grow more paranoaic every day. An evil long forgotten, thought to be destroyed ages ago, found it's way back into the world. Creeping itself inside the softer minds and the colder hearts, it managed to manipulate their will to create discord amongst the people. Blinded by their greed and their lust for power, the leaders of the world ignored wise counsel from the erudite scholars and seem set in their warmongering ways. After imploring those in power and being cast aside, those with reason lost faith and started to despair. Only a few, with their eyes open, recognized the signs of the old evil coming back. As it's power grew, entire villages started to fall under it's curse. Blaming each others, kings and emperors gathered their armies, ready to strike. As none seemed to want to listen to reason, a resistance had to be organised to stand a chance against the armies of darkness. As the light of hope started to grow dimmer, a divine being descended upon the mortal lands in the moonlight, in search for the Chosen One, that could one day lead the resistance and cast back the Ruler of Darkness to the shadows. Waking from a deep sleep, riddled with strange dreams, Axar, an odd boy with silver hair, started to walk to the nearest village to meet the voice he heard in his sleep... Character : Axar lives a reclusive life in the mountains. Never quite fitting in, he prefers the solitude to the busy life of a villager. One morning, after having the strangest dreams, he feels compelled to leave his isolated home to travel to the closest village, but he is too clever to believe in coincidences... The answer can only lie in going deeper... --- Game status: Completed (with placeholder graphics), possibility for minor mechanical edits. 11. Hello everybody! I was hoping somebody out there knows where I could find some a sprite for both sides of the US Revolutionary war...or could edit a sprite or two to create them for me. I would be very grateful. I don't mean to seem like a needy jerk, but I would like to have these HOPEFULLY by Dec 7 so I can finish a contest entry. If they come later, thats fine I will just update my project! thanks for any help on this! below are some pics of the uniform I would like, or at best, an approximation. It doesn't matter which sprite you edit these onto, if thats the route you take! Thank you again! All that is really important is the colors and an approximation of the design. I thank you all again in advance! have a good day, and happy holidays!

It is an abandoned temple known well as the Temple of the Dragons, and is located in the Eastern Realm of Eremidia. In order to capture the high-value artifact "Skyglyph", our party recklessly enters the temple. Can you help them retrieve the Skyglyph? This game is not an exercise in complex storytelling. I'm not an expert writer, so I'm keeping it simple. Instead, this is an exercise to provide gameplay based on my Theolized Sideview Battle System If you have ever played Eremidia: Dungeon!, this game has very many similarities, such as: flame encounters; limited visibility; enemy naming; accessory naming. The location is not the exact same place, but the story is still based in the same continent. 15. [This review was originally sent to the creator of Ixias, Sinathor on Febuary the 20th. Parts of it have been minorly edited, for proper readability. It has not been posted to the reviews section of this web site due to the rule regarding a required download link for the game. The release is currently private, and the game can only be obtained via Sinathor himself.] -------------------- IXIAS - STELLAR COMPLEX Alpha Private Release, Full Analysis -------------------- The following is my sum total views of the incomplete Alpha release for Ixias - Stellar Complex, by Sinathor, Sinathor Productions, following 4 playtest reports over the course of approximately 1 month and 3 days. During this time, I casually played through the game as for mock Q/A and was also asked to give my impressions as a player. As part of this, I have intended to create a final summary of my thoughts, here. At least, final, for the time being. With your (Sinathor) permission I'd also like to post this. If not, by the rules, to the Topic, then via a blog, on the rpgmakervxace.net forums. I'll be basing this analysis off several key areas including firstly some noteworthy Impressions, Gameplay and Design, Story, Art Design, Sound Design, and then some Conclusions. Ixias - Stellar Complex Credits IMPRESSIONS -------------------- I'm a little hesitant to say for certain - but I feel confident enough to say that Ixias: Stellar Complex even in it's current form is both the best game I have played in 2015, and the best RPG Maker Game I have ever played. Perhaps you could say that it is the best I have ever played, because I very rarely play RPG Maker games at all, and that's quite true. However, I rarely ever play RPG Maker games because I am extremely discerning of the games I play. If I am not certain I will not rate it 75% or higher, I will not play it. Simple as that. Ixias was certainly one of those 75%+ games, if not an 80%, or a 90% - it's just that good. And to think, it's not even done yet. In giving a general impression, it's hard to decide where to begin. I suppose it'd be best to start off what particularly sticks out about the game. If I were to pick one thing I think it would be something like theme. RPGs are a pretty stagnant genre, fantasy, like all RTP has been, in particular has been quite dead for a long time. Ixias is such an incredible revitalization for the software. Dystopian cyberpunk? Does that genre still exist? Hell yeah! Even though many parts of it are very standard (a majority of the art assets are Steam-bought, the combat is vanilla for the engine), there's an overriding atmosphere that comes from the combination of story, gameplay, art, and sound that makes the standard parts of the game contribute to a far greater whole. It's truly an astounding job, stellar, you could say, the kinds of which would be way too easy to get obsessive over. GAMEPLAY AND DESIGN -------------------- Stellar Complex is something of a strange hybrid of a JRPG and a WRPG - something I think that could be attributed to the combination of it's inspirations. The player takes control of an initally small, but eventually middling party of 4, with a central protagonist. Outside of a few choices with questionable impact on the game as a whole, there is very little input the player has on the proceedings of the game, and its narrative. Despite this however, the player has the ability to travel between several large hubs, and explore numerous interiors in a very alive, if destitute semi-open world. Outside of the proceedings for the main quest, there are numerous side quests the player can perform for loot, experience for leveling up, and world-building story. Despite the largeness of the hubs, frequency of NPCs, and shops, the overworlds feel fairly standard for the game it portrays. Other than searching for quests, and a few collectables, there isn't all too much to do while walking around. For the game as a whole, this doesn't present a problem, and in fact, works well for pacing, but a large amount of time is still spent wandering around. This occurs especially a lot when exploring all the hubs for the first time. Of interesting note, is also the complete lack of a world map. For some, this might cause some difficulty in navigation, but for me personally, added to the sense of exploration. While at the beginning of the game I found myself staring at the maps on the walls endlessly, by the time I finished the 12 hours of gameplay, I knew I could navigate from one point of a hub to another without stopping once. It is a rewarding feeling to become familiar with the world, and to find all the fastest little route between the numerous point A's and B's. Puzzles are few and far in-between, but of additional gameplay note is the hacking minigame. While a bit of a non-sequitur at times, it also helps diversify the gameplay. I know at least a few hacks that will have some people pulling their hair out. As for combat... Ixias has a fairly vanilla combat system for RPG Maker. Front view, turn based combat, often with RTP battlers. This could be a colossal blow to the game if it wasn't handled so well. While Ixias might not flaunt all too much in the way of originality, there's a few extremely interesting things that the game does to make something you would consider stale. Every boss is an absolute adventure, and some kind of (what I would consider) innovative exploration of the default RTP mechanics. The constant balance of HP / MP / and TP gets extremely intense, surprisingly quickly. Having to buy a majority of the skills in the game also creates a bit of a WRPG character customization feeling to it, that I haven't really seen in other games. I'm somebody who enjoys challenge. I have beaten the first Dark Souls, five times. I have beaten Metro 2033 on the hardest difficult, nine times. I have played through a majority of Left 4 Dead 1 on Expert with only bots. I found parts of Ixias to be a challenge, just the perfect difficulty. There was no challenge that I was expected to face that was too hard, but no part in which I was fully confident of my ability. Balanced to perfection, sans a few possible exploits! STORY -------------------- Oh Christ man... if you want a story... If you want something that'll give the first Deus Ex a run for it's money, then check this game out. An engaging and even cerebral plot that goes the extra mile to a deliver the most complex and snaking plots I've ever played, let alone heard of for RPG Maker. For some, it might be a bit too much, but for those that can take a minute to follow along, it's a truly an enriching experience. Ixias suffers from a story that is simultaneously its best part, but also its toughest to praise, in it's current state. As an alpha, the demo ends far before any loose ends are tied up, in fact, it ends just as we get into the main plot. As such the game gave me such an incredible kick in the balls to see the dev message at the end, I'm still kinda reeling from it. There are problems though. The main cast is all made up of 3 dimensional, and real feeling people, that might be equivalent to a small time Tales Of game - but at the moment, there simply isn't enough screen time devoted to the people, and not the plot, to build much an emotional connection with them. If there was, then I don't know, I might be a wreck right now. While the antagonists of the plot are all hidden nebulously in mystery, and cannot be spoken of at this time, the thugs and villains that do get screen time are all quite flat. Ixias is pretty quick and eager to get into some pretty dark themes of crime, murder, rape, prostitution, cannibalism, drug use, and manslaughter, and holds no punches. Some moments are really, incredibly, well executed and hit you where it hurts; other feel like stories out of a 90s comic book that are a bit '2edgy4u'. Sinathor has stated to me before, that he really didn't want to hold anything back for Ixias. It definitely shows, and I'd believe it if he told me this was a game he was cooking up for years, and poured his heart and soul into. ART DESIGN -------------------- If there is a crutch that Ixias has, its the art. RTP and vanilla looking assets seem pretty abound, and Ixias doesn't make many excuses for it. It is what it is: serviceable. While none of it really detracts from the overall experience, the game benefits little from it, enough to convey ideas and give impressions. Perhaps the extremely notable exception to this is the mapping. Some areas, are simply fricken' astounding. Every single area has a totally complete vibe, and it all works together to create a very consistent atmosphere. The game is without a doubt, what it was set out to be. Ixias does feature what I can decipher as being custom assets and graphics, notably facegraphics and its promotional poster however, and does benefit from these considerably at times, but, I wish they were more the rule than the exception. Any more can't really be expect of though. That all said, it makes me wonder what this game would be like if it had a small team of even 1 or 2 dedicated artists. SOUND DESIGN -------------------- Pfft-, no " " or " "? 0/10. In all serious, Ixias would be great, but not AMAZING if it weren't for, what I take to be its 100% custom music by Sinathor himself. Holy Christ this soundtrack is great, in a lot of ways as good as, if not better than the original Deus Ex's. If not, then it's at the least, very comparable to it. Its good, its really, really, good. It always perfectly sets up the atmosphere and tone, and has a good diversity to it that helps the game even further stand out from the crowd. The only problems with the music is that there simply isn't enough. Several areas, dungeons in particular, all share the same music. Does any of that matter though when you're listening to "Floating", "Longing for Something You've Never Had", or "Let the City Burn"? No. No it doesn't. My brother's life is music, so growing up, I heard enough of it. Now, I don't really listen to music, and I infrequently seek out the OST for a game to put on my computer. For Ixias though I HAD TO. Other than the music, the audio is a little hit and miss. Other than some rain, I don't recall any ME's, and the sound effects were all like the art. Pretty much just RTP. As JC would say, " ". With a week's attention to sound in this game, it'd really help elevate it even more. CONCLUSION -------------------- Scores are for fcking casuls, but this game isn't! I don't know how I can recommend this game more, I honestly don't. The art may have been pretty middle of the road, but the music, story, and gameplay more than make up for it. It is the best RPG Maker game I have ever played. Period. It was an privileged to Q/A test and an absolute blast to play, I don't regret a second of it. Here's hoping for the full release, and the sequel. On a personal note to Sinathor, it is been an absolute honor to work with you and I sincerely wish to continue working with you. Even though it's only been a month, I am proud to call you a friend, and even mentor. Do not hesitate in the slightest to come to me with future builds for Q/A, art, concerns, or anything! You have the utmost upper echelon of my respect, and I would be ecstatic to continue working with you. Best of luck, Chaosian
  16. Support us on Indiegogo! Huge thanks to those will do that! Here is the link: INDIEGOGO: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/dark-phoenix/x/9438841 Dark Phoenix is a classic 2D Indie RPG game, created with RPG Maker VX ACE. After two years of android app development, we moved to PC/MAC dev, and since we are just two friends with small programming knowledge, we bought RPG Maker. First, when we started our project, we were excited to beign part of the Indie game community, but we had no ideas for the game. We love indie games original stories, musics and ambiences, we think that the indie community is much more a community of artists and not only developers. Since we are musicians too (A pianist and a Guitarist), and we are composers (Soundtracks for other games or short-films) we really wanted to gave our game an original "sound". Then, while we were composing one of our soundtrack, we had the idea... This idea is now Dark Phoenix. Everything you believe about Gods... Children fables, religions and legends... Forget them... Forget them all... Hell... Heaven... All these bullshit... Are not real... What is waiting for us after death? Maybe the right question is who is waiting... The story take life in a fantasy world, Erendor, when diseases, natural catlaclysm and wars take place every day. Not really the best place to live for Drais: the main character. 17. Arpygea Dawning My first extended game project in early development: currently designed as a free game Greetings, Arpygea Dawning is my first extended game project. It is designed to begin as a learning experience utilizing the basics of RPG Maker VX Ace, then evolve into a sophisticated game with original graphics, music and gameplay elements as I learn more and (hopefully!) attract the interest and assistance of the many talented scripters, artists, and developers in the community. Since I am new to RMVXA many of the elements will be RTP in the beginning as I become acquainted with the application and utilize it to structure and flesh out my storyline. Project Timeline 01Aug2014 [update]: Added the concept and map in a post below of the FutureWorld component of Arpygea Dawning: Retropolis - link 27May2014 [update1]: Created a topographical Arpygea Map that encompasses the northeast quadrant of the world (town names, kingdoms, and more to be added later): 27May2014 [update2]: Added Modern Algebra's Quest Journal script to game and created a couple of windowskins (the Forest of Lost Souls green leaf patterned one is shown, the royal kingdom one will be added later). Note: the Haunted Forest gameplay video was captured prior to Journal, windowskins and other additions so they are not in it. Also, in characters I've started the biographies of Aeron, Elysabeth, and Aurella. Screenshots of new windowskin & quest journal 18May2014 [update to update of revised video: reduced size of game message portraits and added more dialogue (still incomplete)]: Added a gameplay / story development sequence video . Note: dialogue and mapping, etc. incomplete. I am utilizing a combo of Yanfly scripts with Galv's Message Busts' script and Yami's overlay script. All or most of graphics, portraits, sprites are placeholders until original art can be arranged. Pardon my clunky-ness with the controls during the video and there is some silly dialogue at the end that is just there temporarily for my own amusement. The end game will not have that kind of silliness (hopefully). My intent though is that the game will run the gamut from humor to tragedy, danger to romance, while providing chills and thrills and involving the hearts and minds of the players ... oh yeah, and be fun too! . 14May2014: Added new and revised maps and screenshots (Haunted Forest, Cyanna's Village and Cyanna's House), expanded credits to include more artists and scripters whose work I am provisionally using. Please see "Screenshots" section for new screenshots and maps images (will add maps category soon) and credits for expanded list (note: as always, if I miss giving credit to anyone please let me know and I'll correct that -- also I believe I am using resources appropriately for a free project but let me know if not and I'll fix that too). Added placeholder portraits to "Characters" and "Creatures". 28April2014: Created early project feedback page. Included video (with two alternate title screens and a post-credits sequence) , several screenshots, story summary, short character descriptions, and credits. Note gameplay / features wishlists will begin with that incorporated in the RMVXA app in the beginning, then will expand to include the scripting, artwork, and other elements from outside sources to give Arpygea Dawning a unique form and style. Note: if I miss crediting anyone for elements utilized within this project as it evolves please let me know and I will make sure that credit is given where credit is due! Thank you for visiting this page and all constructive feedback is greatly appreciated! Vox Populi
  18. This topic mostly covers some "hidden" stuff in VXAce's Tilesets. I say "hidden" because majority don't notice it haha. But if you highlight or select a tile, this happens: What is this for? I think it's unavoidable that some tilesets would raise a few questions on what they are. I am also one of those people that can't understand tilesets until someone tells me what they are or if I was able to magically use them right. How to do the same with your own Resource Packs? It's really easy actually, just make a txt file with the same filename as the tileset you want it to describe. The real problem however is how it's listed. I had to make a reference list for myself so I won't get confused! The numbers indicate how they'd appear in the editor. For empty spaces, you have to add NONE as blank spaces aren't counted. Tile A1 Example Text File: Tile A2, A3, A4 They all follow the same format in labelling. File dimensions doesn't really matter except you know, the number count. It's Left to Right until you reach the edge, then new line. Tile A5 Tile A5 sheet is long, but you get the point. Tile B, C, D, E The highlighted black part are the ones that are counted first, then it goes to the next half. By the end, you will end up with something like this! And that's about it!

    Lamia must die!

Lamia must die! Abstract: Lamia must die! was a contest entry done for Encounters of Boss Kind. Since it actually placed 3rd of 28 entries (going for a tie with Demon Slayer Z), I went ahead and improved the game with improved graphics and more depth involving battle system before release to general public. It has an opening, the fight against Lamia herself and then the ending which is afflicted by which of the heroes survive. If all four heroes survive, there's a special ending. The battle can be somewhat tricky and requires use of strategy. The difficulty is medium-hard to hard, depending on how familiar with RPG mechanics you are. Genre: Strategy Engine: RPGMaker VX ACE Download www.asciinetwork.com/GiveMeBeer/Lamia.exe If you downloaded the game earlier you can update it from 2.01 to 3.0 using this patch. The main Lamia.exe comes with the patch already pre installed. http://asciinetwork.com/GiveMeBeer/201to30.exe Gameplay Length Microgame (<1 hour) Story A horrible monster has been terrorizing the local town for years, doing terrible, unspeakable things to the citizen. 20. This is my first game and I made it with the VX Ace version of the RPG Maker software. It's nothing terribly new or special or innovative, but it's been a great learning experience making it. I'm hoping over time to mold and morph this further into a more polished and complete game so I'm posting here in the hopes of getting one or two people willing to play it a couple hours and tell me what they think. No scripts were used in the making of this game so I'm sure many of you will find it pretty boring, sorry. The entire game is a heavily edited and customized, but default RTP product. I'm including in the word "default" the various official downloads I've found, such as those from the ~ Resource Staff Resources! ~ thread from the official site's forums. All the eventing and such was done by me. - Story Synopsis: The female main character you create at the beginning of the game is a teenage ward of the state under the care of Eric, Swordmaster of Hawkstone Keep. Strange dreams plague you during a training hunt which (hopefully) draw you into a wide world full of adventure. Who or what is this imprisoned being that calls out to you? Why do you find yourself hunted by vicious creatures? Discover the secrets of an ancient otherworldly war and learn why your destiny lies at it's heart. - World Development: A vast world map with many different environments, dungeons and areas of mystery. You'll travel to the four corners of the globe and beyond hunting elder magics and powerful weapons. Fishing, side quests, puzzles and a functional clock/calendar with various timed events round out the experience. - Screenshots: Youtube video showing early game footage here: -Game download link: Newest version 0.5.4 release 7 August 2013: http://www.mediafire.com/download/ji0g6ez1g1hp3ua/LegendofAncientsv0.5.4.exe Small version if you already have RPG Maker VX ACE (stable): http://www.mediafire.com/download/oa10glo7a3shmb9/LegendofAncientsSmallv0.5.4.exe Google Drive link to small file backup with frequent updates (working back-up / alpha). https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B1mYcSSR7dRuSmVRRWg0S2ZEdkU Feel free to tell me what you think of it or if you find any bugs or issues (other than obviously unfinished stuff). I'm eager to know how combat against the mobs at various levels feels and how fun the classes are to play. - Character bios: Early characters who are willing to join you on your quest include: Corwin, Eric's other student. He's a young Spellblade with a great potential, but not much experience. Xavier, a brilliant but absent-minded mage. His master, Xerxes may come to know much about your fate if you can save him in time. Blaze, a hot-headed rogue with a heart of gold. He says he's loyal to the end but does he have his own agenda? - Credits Section: Thanks to - SomaelCK, Dorian Tokici, and Hesufo for early playtesting and amazing feedback Adon for inspiring the on-map encounters The RPG Maker Community for being awesome and helpful Enterbrain and the entire RPG Maker staff for such amazing products over the years AND YOU! Thank you for playing my game! Please tell me if this post is in some way insufficient or doesn't meet the requirements of this forum or belongs in a different forum. Feedback welcome. Found and fixed a game-halting bug with an early boss. I had set it to be immune to the death state thinking that would make it immune to insta-death effects. Actually it made it immune to death, even from damage dealt. Lesson learned. I'll have to make bosses immune to specific skills on a case by case basis from now on unless I find a better way. All classes are now reasonably fleshed out and playable up to 30th level or so. Will take a while to fine tune costs and levels skills are granted at and ultimately I want to take them all to level 100. If anyone is interested in playing this. The game is incomplete, but there's around 20 - 30 hours of playtime and I'm happy to answer questions about how I did it. Version History The To Do List Common Event based weather system that turns off indoors and integrates with the clock. Event-based method of swapping characters in and out of your party at an adventurers guild. Add gender selection to character creation (and the facemaker/spritemaker if it's possible). General renaming of stuff in the database. More mini-games and puzzles. Replace all instances of premade maps with my own. Finish the world map including all towns and NPCs. Who knows what else.
