    Shoka

    SYNOPSIS Shoka is specifically designed to make sure YOU WON'T WIN. Kinda reminiscent of those "Kaizo" games e.g. Emerald Kaizo and Kaizo Mario. The mechanics are pretty simple to understand, anyone who've played any RPG Maker game should know the game's control but just in case there's people who have never heard of RPG Maker reading this forums, the controls are as follows: Z - SELECT X - CANCEL ARROW KEYS - NAVIGATION This game is nigh impossible because even if you over-level yourself, there will still be some bosses that can destroy you if you make a wrong move, and if you screw up too much, you might have to restart the entire game since save points are very limited. Discounting the bosses, some random encounters can catch you off-guard and send you to the game over screen! Apart from that, there's not much to worry about, this game isn't confusing at all, everything is pretty linear and laid out with some hidden items here and there, all you need to do is not lose. I will not be delving into anything pertaining to this game here like it's character or plot, except for the opening sequence, which is an average person coincidentally stumbling across a gateway. I understand that dropping some spoilers about the lore and gameplay is good for hooking in potential players, but Shoka is best played completely blind as the feeling of playing through a game for the first time without any outside knowledge is truly sacred. Hell, even the images I posted below are completely meaningless without any context. You might argue this defeats the purpose of using "Inline spoiler" but let's be real here, our instinctual curiosity will lead us to clicking on the spoiler tag so it never had a purpose to begin with. There are spoilers but I kept it pretty minimal, nothing about the lore or major events.     OTHER Swans In The Wallow

    SWANS IN THE WALLOW "Swans in the Wallow" is a retro-horror-mystery-adventure-game with RPG elements in insane 16 colors!! Almost everything in this game I made myself: graphics, music, engine. In classic adventure style you move through rooms, choose actions and solve puzzles. This gameplay is loosened up by turn-based RPG combat encounters. The game is packed with deep nostalgia for ancient text-adventure classics, subcultural references & love for mindf*** plots. Story: Somewhere in East Germany: You wake up in your vacation home after a two-day blackout. But where is your husband Erik? Nobody has noticed or knows how to help you further. Neither the local metalhead savages, nor this ominous religious community that has sealed itself off from the outside world on an old farm for years. You can't get rid of the suspicion that there are dark influences at work here: is it the local satanists, the ooze from the surrounding swamp or is it the nameless cult? Will the residents finally break their silence or will the "spirits" of nature lead you into your husband's arms once again? Summary: Genre: Adventure, RPG Topic: mystery, horror Language: English Duration: ca. 2 hours Features: Limited resources, few save points, go for the high score (!)   6. Now, I'll admit I'm not the biggest fan of jrpgs but this is what the engine excels at, so it's not like I never thought about making one ever. My gripes however always stood with how to make battle encounters interesting on a base level, how to intrigue the player with some neat mechanics. For example, I like how in Etrian Odyssey you can 'bind' an enemy's body parts to disable specific skills, giving you even a slight advantage or how shadows in Persona 4 can get overwhelmed by your party if you attack their weakspot. I always wondered though, how much is “too much“? Would something like changing the classic "weak to fire" or "weak to thunder" be too weird? For example, in a test project I made, I shifted the attention to weapons and created a main triangle of sorts: Slashing Weapons, Crushing Weapons and Piercing Weapons (fire emblem does something similar I believe?) The weakness chart being: Slash>Crush>Pierce>Slash. Some weapons of course being slight hybrids or not being affected, like a mage's staff. Weapons like lances or bows are good at mid/long range attacks, so they do slightly more damage to backrow enemies, while other weapons like swords and axes have their attack lowered. Magic in this case has no specific damage bonus on enemies, who is weak to magic is weak to magic who is weak to physical is weak to physical. The only real difference being some enemies being weak to specific states applied by the elements (some weapons have their own states too, like 'bleeding' for swords/knives). Also states affect one another, an enemy that was hit by water has a chance of remaining drenched for a few turns, making electric attacks stronger but fire will instead dry their body or have a chance of cauterizing bleeding wounds, and so on. But like I said, is something like this too much? Does it sound tedious or boring?
  7. TALES OF ÁGARIS SYNOPSIS Rumors have speculated on the possibility of a frightening creature emerging. Indeed, may religious texts had spoken of the demon's arrival, and some rumors were based on such prophecies. However, the efforts of Lars, among the elite soldiers of King Grimfur's army, has helped to make the emergence a grim reality. Meanwhile, the efforts of three soldiers work for world peace. They had established themselves in Ágaris, and other portions of the world. One of their stated tasks to to revive Rion. King Grimfur has a secret confidence for Rion to become in composition of the ever-grown armies of darkness. With the fate of the world hanging in the balance, it is up to you, intrepid heroes, to defeat evil! CONNECTION This game is a prequel to Heroes of Time, set 1000 years before the events of said game. The events here would approximate the "Middle Ages" of the game-world.   15. Starcaller is a new Fantasy/sci-fi RPG adventure game focused on story and exploration. Browser based demo.. no downloads needed. All original pixel art and music score, and the rtp sound fx are being worked on as we speak to replace the default assets. We wanted to take a slightly different approach to retro RPG gaming. Exploration is split between side scrolling (for overworld exploration) and top down(for Dungeons and other instances). IT is set in the same universe as a previous release called Myrkvidr. Most of the graphical elements are done with Parallax layers as opposed to tilesets. The game is almost complete, in few days I should be able to publish it hopefully Long story short, let me introduce you to: Synopsis: Madness Fantasy is the crazy story about five friends who end up facing a thousand vicissitudes to defeat a criminal gang by working undercover for the police. To do this they will have to face incredible situations, where they will appreciate the life and value of happy times. The game is made entirely by me in rpgmaker2003 and it will be available in english and italian. The story is long 27 chapters and the soundtrack is composed by 62 original songs. Promo trailer (game features): Story trailer (story and characters): Like GTA, there's a city map to explore, but you'll be allowed to freely steal vehicles and go everywhere you like! Basically you'll have to take on some missions which will lead you to many surreal adventures rich of minigames and dialogues. There also will be a lot of secondary quests too! While playing you'll have your position and your objectives under control in the game map anytime thanks to the GPS system. Through game menu you can access multiple options, for instance you can switch between FreeMode or Story and play the game as you want. You can also have access to Trophies, which are special "powers" you can use to customize the game (e.g. you can unlock the power to change the climate in FreeMode). Jackie, Max, Marv, Hank and Dex are the heroes of our story. One evening they decide to go to Oddcity to have fun, but during the event Hank meets a guy and here they get in troubles. There's a police raid and our heroes are taken to the police station and forced to work undercover to be able to infiltrate the Big I, the gangster organization that rules the town.     Hello everyone, I'm Lucius Blank, and my brother and I want to introduce you to our story, Dawn of Alcieste. This game is being worked on RPG Maker 2003, I've used most of the rpg maker engines, but nothing beats the nostalgy that this retro engine brings. I have been using this engine since it came out back in 2003, and can confidentely say that I know how it works from A to Z, my specialty being spritting and programming, while my brother has the best story telling. Our main language is not english, however we decided to use it as the game language to reach as many people as possible, so you may catch some weird sounding phrases, if you do, please let us know, feedback is always appreciated. Without further ado this is the game premise: This story takes place in the continent of Alcieste, compossed by the kingdoms of Elgasta, Phyris, Praekopis, Kriegerheim and Sadhal, and surrounded by the called barbarian islands. The continent geography defines the borders between the kingoms, and it ranges from the arid deserts in Sadhal to the snowy mountain ranges in Kriegerheim. The continent is populated by humans, but a rich folklore and legends of intelligent creatures and monsters can be found everywhere, with many claiming evidence of the existence of said creatures, however, dangerous monsters can be found all around the continent, and several precautions must be taken by anyone attempting to travel around. A long lasting peace has been achieved after years of war, but as no treaty has been signed constant tensions keep everyone on their toes, with several outposts located all across the kingdoms to protect their borders. Esgalta, located in the middle of continent, has been under the rule of the Valerius dynasty, and poses the biggest military pressence througout the continent. In the arid southern region is Sadhal, a rich country where merchants thrive, but such riches bring trouble, as the Sadhal military is constantly busy fending off pirates who wish to steal the merchants hard earned coin. Kriegerheim to the northwest is located on what is known as the frozen throne, a dangerous mountain range covered in ice and snow, craddle to powerful warriors devoted to their god of war, Arlan. Bordering with Kriegerheim and Esgalta is Praekopis, famous for the scholars and engineers born there, their military may not be as strong, but their powerful contraptions make up for their lack of army. And lastly Phyris to the northeast, a small country with a dense forest surrounded by mystery, not much is known about the secrets lying deep in Phyris forest, and many legends are told of it. The story begins right after Esgalta declares war on the other four kingdoms, and with an unprecedented army conquered the continent in their war of unification, forming what is now known as the Esgaltian empire under emperor Beadurinc Valerius. This swift conquest hs brought economic problems and political strife to the continent, as numerous factions try to oppose their new rulers, the militaristic empire tightens it's iron grip on the rebels. A large number of people are constantly conscripted into service to fuel the empire needs of man power, for some this brings opportunity, and others just call it opression. One of such people is Vanhir, a young man with a troubled past joining the esgaltian army to find purpose, another gear on the ever moving clockwork of destiny, he is unaware of the role that destiny has chosen for him. This is the game we are working on, we want to tell a story, and we want you to be our audience. There will be adventure, betrayal, laughs and anger, on this story rich RPG. The game. As mentioned earlier, we want to keep the game as retro as possible, and even though we know how to make SBP, we have decided to exploit the RM2k3 turn based engine to the max. Here are some screens for the battle system: We are also trying to use the engine to the limit, by making use of parallaxing, to bring the most of our beloved mac & blue tilesets! And what is an adventure without puzzles? We are avid RPG players and know that players enjoy a challenge! And most importantly, we consider story the most important part of an RPG, we want to steer away from cliches and move on with lore, plot, subplot and character development, we aim to create memorable characters that no matter if they are protagonists or antagonists, one can sympathize with them. Magic | Primary | MP/EP Twilight will have various spells, starting from simple telekinesis that will deal light damage by throwing various objects -> through magic projectiles that will deal magical damage -> to powerful Area of Effect Spells, that at high MP and EP cost, will bring some destruction to the battle field. Skills | Primary | EP Rainbow Dash will be able to use her wings to perform various tricks to deal more physical damage. Weather | Secondary | MP/EP Rainbow Dash will also be able to control weather to deal elemental damage as well as Area of Effect. Partying | Primary | MP/EP Pinkie Pie will always find an occasion to throw a party and battling with enemies is not an excuse for her! She and her Party Cannon will show enemies how to party by dealing physical or magical damage. Blow up everything and party on! Songs | Secondary | MP/EP Besides partying, Pinkie Pie also loves to sing! As she sings songs during their adventure, she will learn to sing them in battle as well to raise parameters of ponies and more! Skills | Primary | EP Applejack is a strong farmer and she will show who has the power by dealing high physical damage or using her lasso to stun enemies.     House Robbing Simulator - READ DISC

    STORY You are part of the mafia, but you want out. They will only let you leave if you pay them. You don't have enough money, so you are going to rob houses to get the money. Good luck. This is one if my first games I've made, and it was during a 2 and a half hour challenge, so expect some bugs such as but not limited to: leaving a house and ending up outside of a different house, not dying and instead being stuck in an endless loop of being oneshot until you restart the game, and more. It also has stock buildings and stock characters, but it has a mild charm to it. Might just be me though. Keep in mind it was made in 2 and a half hours so balancing is virtually nonexistent. The way to finish the game is to purchase a certification of freedom from the shopkeeper next to the starting weapon. Also, there's a secret that you can try to find if you want. (It's not hidden in a corner or something, playing the game you should just find it eventually.)
