  6. Hello! I go by Brood, and I've been playing and enjoying RPG Maker games for years. I've been playing games like Yume Nikki and IB and everything inbetween for a long time, and when I first started composing it was for a Yume Nikki fangame a few years ago that sadly never got finished. Although I've evolved a lot since then and now make a lot of varieted music, that is still where my roots lie, and I want to nurture and encourage the creation of more games like that. Since I'm still kinda new to composing, most of my songs are relatively simplistic. However, I'm happy about every piece of constructive criticism and piece of advice you can offer. I only ask you to be honest about what you think about my music, okay? Alright, so, without further ado, let's get to some of my tunes! "Nightmare" Hard to believe that this song is the result of just me playing around with some synth instruments, huh? Anyway, as the title suggests, this song is about bad dreams. This one was one of my first pieces I ever (seriously) composed. It was a request from one of my friends who wanted a "Phoenix Wright-style Objection theme". It is very simplistic but I managed to capture what I wanted to capture - a smooth and soothing kind of song. Originally, I wanted to write a point-and-click-adventure-style riddle theme. Something similar to the puzzle themes of the Professor Layton games. However, I ended up with something completely different. "Machine Gone Mad" is the type of song that plays in some kind of futuristic research facility. Basically, this is the gone-mad machine charging at the heroes. This one's supposed to be the main theme of a villain. I could also imagine it as some sort of final dungeon theme as well. I thought I needed a regular battle theme to go with the boss theme I composed. The result was "Fighting Madness" which is still very simplistic but I'm quite fond of it.   11. Hello again, i am here once again with another post and i want your opinions once more on.... The classes in an RPG game(more specificly, my game) And also about soundtrack and other things... Ok allow me to be more specific here. Since im not an expert in this stuff i dont have timetables or specific planning on what should i make first in my game (although it would be also great if you could give me some tips on that also), i just open VX Ace and do stuff, so anyway the biggest change in the database so far is the addition of new skills for my classes, so far i only made skills for a typical tough warrior class, for a stealth assassin and around 4 spells for each element for a mage. So here's some of my issues: First, i notice that so far i have all these spells for a mage but none of them are benefiting the party, spells such as healing or buffs of course i could make some but the question is, should i included them both in one mage class or make a "priest" class or something? So if i choose the second option another problem appears. I dont know if it will feel right to have each character doing one specific thing plus i think one mage in a team is enough but i dont know. I did thought of that instead of a priest member i could add an archer or something but then i think about it and go "But i already have an agility-ish dude in there" and all this just becomes crazy. So here i am asking you this: What kind of classes should my game include and in what fasion? Also to be noted i DID thought of having a system which the characters start off at this one class but later on they can "train" and increase their class rank and become a bit different and stronger, but i dont know if im capable of making such thing possible. Alright, lets talk music. Ive been giving this some thought lately and ive said to myself "My game might need custom soundtrack." of course im not a music composer, i only see myself composing music with a kazoo (i wish i had one cuz its kick-ass) so ive been thinking that the most logical thing is to "hire" someone to compose some tracks for me but here's a reason im not doing this right the way. Its not that i dont trust others to create me quality content or that i want to make it myself, no its quite the opposite (but of course i would want me game's tracks in "my own way") what troubles me is that people are already busy with their own projects plus from all i know good music composers are scarce and i doubt that they gonna work for a newbie like me, those guys either make music for their own games, or for high quality games so what ive been thinking is that i either say "the hell with it" and use VX Ace's default tracks OR search the web for some decent ones. Now if anyone is willing enough and wants to waste their time for me, go ahead and contact me for more info, i wont decline any help you might provide with music or anything really. This is also somewhat my problem with graphics. Im ok with the default tiles, but what i truly want, its a custom title screen (and a couple of other random details? who knows?)
