- Download Link - http://www.mediafire.com/file/l1bcseuuf9oxm9s/PSYCHE+Locke+-+1.0.2.rar - Screenshots - - Introduction - PSYCHE Locke is a short 2D Puzzle/Adventure game, with a dark and cyberpunk-y setting, which was created for the Theme Roulette event held by rpgmaker.net. Unfortunately, the game couldn't be released in time for the deadline. Still, I worked hard in order to finish the game and release it anyway some time after that. The main theme of PSYCHE Locke is "Yourself", the concept of identity. The game focuses on Locke, a strange being, a "Psyche", who's trying to retrieve his former self and his lost memories. As a Psyche, Locke has the ability to merge his soul with that of other people, manipulating them. The player can merge with, almost, any NPC he encounters during his playthrough. Possessing someone allows the player to do certain things or talk to certain people, helping him progressing through the game. I hope you'll like PSYCHE Locke and that you'll have fun playing it. I'm very proud of what has been done, even though it's a short game made in a very small time frame. - Story - Locke is a Psyche, a peculiar being. He can read other people's feelings, other people's thoughts, their personalities and yet he can't comprehend them. He has lost his former self, his memories... he's nothing more than an empty husk. He can feel other people's emotions but he doesn't know what those mean, why people feel that way. He's incapable to. With the help of Doctor Aidi, Locke goes on a quest to retrieve his former self. While questioning his own identity, Locke is also pursued by SEELE's Special Unit, led by Colonel Jade Ichizen, an emotionless and ruthless woman that wants to capture him in order to study his abilities. Will he be able to survive inside Cognitus City and find his lost self? - Gameplay - PSYCHE Locke is a Puzzle/Adventure game. In order to progress through the game, the player has to use Locke's abilities. Since he's a Psyche, Locke has the ability to merge his soul with that of others, manipulating them and accessing their memories and personalities. Manipulating certain people will allow you to progress and do stuff that Locke alone wouldn't be able to do. For instance, taking control of a very slim person will allow Locke to fit inside small air ducts and gain access to new locations. Taking control of a charismatic person will allow you to give orders to someone else, while taking control of a strong person will allow you to move heavy objects around. At the same time, Locke can access other people's Mind Palaces. That's where all their memories reside, and where you can talk to a specific person face to face, learning what their true fears are and what their personality is like. Someone with a very strong personality may be able to persuade others... or perhaps you can use that people's connections to your advantage. Investigating the Mind Palaces and merging with other people in order to solve small puzzles are the core mechanics of the game. The game also features a simple stealth system. Locke will be hunted by SEELE, an organization which is really interested in his powers. He will have to avoid contact with SEELE's Special Unit. If one of those soldiers find Locke it will be instant Game Over, so the player will have to move around carefully while trying to solve the game's puzzles. - Characters - Locke Locke is a Psyche, a being with the power to merge his soul with that of others. He was experimented on by SEELE until the day Doctor Aidi saved his life. Because of those experimentations, Locke lost his memories and his former self. He's nothing more than an empty husk at the moment, capable of listening to what others think and feel but without understanding them and without having feelings and emotions of his own. Doctor Aidi Aidi is a doctor who worked for SEELE, until the day she decided to save Locke and escape SEELE's secret labs with him. She's a very "professional", "serious" doctor, but she's far from being a "cold" individual. She always stays by Locke's side and tries to help him recover his lost self through psychoanalysis. Perhaps as a way to atone for her sins? Or there's more to it than that? Will "The Forger" Will, known as "The Forger" in the underworld, is a member of the Haven's Army of Freedom, a rebel faction which consists of civilians tired of SEELE's tiranny. He's very well known among criminals because he's the only person capable of forging fake IDs for the citizens of the Lower Sectors of Cognitus City. He's quite shady and he doesn't get along well with strangers, but when SEELE's a common enemy he can become quite the ally. Colonel Jade Ichizen The Colonel of SEELE's Special Unit is a very mysterious and twisted individual. It almost seems like she can't feel any sort of emotion whatsoever. She's cold, ruthless and will do whatever it takes in order to complete her mission. She will do whatever is necessary to find Locke and capture him. She's also quite skilled, probably one of SEELE's best soldiers. Event Distance Sensor Author: Soulpour777 Plugin Description: Do you wish your events could have been more attentive? Do you want them to have that trait where they can see you? There are games where you wanted to do a stealth scene where the Patrolman needs to make sure the place is safe. However, you are the thief and you want to steal the artifact! This plugin allows the events to detect the player via a line sensor, that makes it execute events that the plugin user wishes for the event to do. Plugin Demonstration: Credits: LittleDrago & Moghunter - I pulled the same idea with how they were able to create the sensors for XP, VX and VXAce. What I did was to read the note tag through a comment and then made the same idea in MV, where I was able to make distance and sensors. Download Plugin
OK so I am still unable to fix a glitch I keep getting. Instead of screenshots I'll just link you a zip that has the map and glitch in question. As I was taking screenshots it hit me that the events are to long, and to really get the problem you had to see it as well as the full events. However as I don't want a random viewer to steal my game I just took the single map, scripts, and basically copied them into a new project file. A lot safer and it makes it easier for you guys to test it out. So the glitch---if you pick up a item the killer NPC will either A, automatically see you even if he's 2 walls away from you. Or B and more commonly, he walks downward into the wall and completely stops moving. I CAN NOT FIX THIS NO MATTER WHAT I DO! If you just follow behind him it works just find, but there's enough room to go around him and catch him off guard. So can someone download the game and tell me what's the deal with this? You can see the script I'm using for pathfinding in the file, but here it is anyways (it's not the problem tho as this glitch was present way before I found the script). I don't want a new pathfinding script as it'll just result in the same exact glitch I'm betting, plus this was the only script I could ever get to work. I know it's not the problem, but just because "somebody" will ask for it rather than look in the zip...yeah this glitch has me very annoyed. The game was developed in a month and a half. As the subtitle implies, this is only a prototype for the real chapters which I'm working on right now. Both the English and Italian version are now available for download! The player takes on the role of the Meat Hunter Florien Kealborn, an hired hit. Throughout the five episodes that define the whole game experience, the player is tasked with the assassination of specific targets or is given specific mission objectives to carry out. All of this must be done without alerting the Karma, a new and strange phenomenon that works under the "eye for an eye" principle. He who kills dies the same way. The player has complete freedom over the course of action. You can decide where to kill your target, when and how. However, all of this must be done without alerting the Karma. If you do, Florien will suffer the same death as her victim! This requires you to find alternatives to direct kills. - Features - Five episodes, and sub-quests, that gives you complete freedom. Complete non-linear experience. Decide when, how and where. Study the game's map, the enemies movements, decide the mission's time of day, listen in on enemies conversations, set up traps... This all changed after the crime families took control of Hardnam. Soon, criminal activities became the main source of profit, the one thing that made the country survive the crisis. However, a new and strange phenomenon started to spread across all of Hardnam after having made its first manifestation in the capital of Rolsara. No one knows exactly what it is. The only things that is known is that it responds to the "eye for an eye" principle. Killing means being killed, stealing means being robbed, etcetera, etcetera. This "anomaly" has been called Karma. Florien Kealborn is one of Rolsara's best Meat Hunters, an assassin, currently broke and without a job because of the Karma. Since it's nearly impossible for her to find an honest job due to Hardnam's current condition, Flo decides to risk it: the only way is to trick the Karma and get back to business. - Characters descriptions - Florien Kealborn Age: 24 Occupation: Former member of the Old Major Organization Description: Considered to be, by herself mostly, one of the most lethal assassins Rolsara has ever saw. She began working as a hired hit for the Eathan family when she was only thirteen, for unknown reasons. Daughter of Kenneth Kealborn, last boss of the Kealborn family and sister of Marien and Klerika Kealborn. Even though she is an extremely good-looking and sensual female, she's a bit of a "tomboy". She is tough, egocentric, sarcastic and can be really cold and ruthless on the job. However she is friendly and caring towards her closest friends, which aren't a lot, mostly her former colleagues. She's a heavy smoker and usually drinks a lot. She is extremely agile and athletic. Chris Kaleido Age: 26 Occupation: Former member of the Old Major Organization Description: Chris was a brilliant Project Engineer and worked for a very important company before it had to be closed due to what the conflict caused. He ended up without a job and without any money as he had to spend most of his fortune to help her mother overcome severe illness. She eventually died. Chris decided to use his very last foundings to create a small criminal activity and began his career as an hacker, hacking bank accounts and security devices mostly. He eventually draw Don Borkus' attention, which offered him a job in his crime family. Soon after, he left the family and joined the Old Major Organization instead. He was the "mind" behind the Organization, helping Florien and the other hired hits with their preparations before a murder. Chris is a very intelligent and composed individual and always manages to make rational decisions in no time. He, however, lacks the "ruthlessness" and all the other "qualities" that are standard among hired hits, so he never does any "field works" and always stays behind the scenes. He has a really deep friendly relationship with Flo, and respects Old Major a lot. He's a smoker, just like Flo, although not as an heavy smoker as her. Old Major Age: 63 Occupation: Former leader of the Old Major Organization Description: A lot can be said about Old Major, from his many successes in the underworld business to the many allies he made among the other crime families. But there is little to none explanation about his personal info and his past. He was the leader of the well-known Old Major Organization. Most of the time he is silent and speaks only if is absolutely necessary. Florien and Chris always have a hard time remember the last time he smiled or showed any kind of emotion. He appreciates Chris' professionalism a lot but despises Florien's careless and unrespectful behaviour although he simply tries to let it slide. He dreams of expanding his organization and make it the most wanted service for criminals in need. Marty Rivers Age: 31 Occupation: Former Machinegun Kingdom's celebrity spokesperson Description: Everyone knows Marty Rivers! And everyone knows Machinegun Kingdom, the number one weapons and other kind of equipment supplier in all of Rolsara. Marty served as Machinegun Kingdom's celebrity spokesperson and always appeared in all of its commercials along with his girls who he refers to as his "Sexorgeous Chicks". With the manifestation of the Karma, most criminal activities ceased to exist aswell as Machinegun Kingdom, resulting in Marty Rivers losing his job. Marty's a very annoying and irritating kind of guy, always going nuts when surrounded by women. He was very popular among Machinegun Kingdom's followers because of his ridicolous and funny gags, even though he's convinced that his charm made him popular.
