For aesthetic reasons, I'd like to make it so that when selecting an option from the title screen, the game would fade to white rather than black. Any ideas?

Adding title text for Yanfly's Main Menu Variable Window
C.W. Plainview posted a topic in Programming
The plug-in: I'm looking to add some text, a sort of title, to my variable window for this plugin. Just a simple word at the top with system color text to sort of label the variables. I thought I was being smart by just creating a new variable, calling it the title I wanted, and assigning it an empty value. Problem is, it returns a '0' after the title. I've tried different operands, but they all still return a 0. I've also tried messing around in the .js file to no luck (I just don't have the JS knowledge). Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! -
The title "Lord" that is in my name; you are not obligated to call me that. Lord is there because of the lore of Vectra himself. I don't, in any types of seriousness, would call myself Lord. Meaning, I will always say it in a joking matter, so if you dislike it, I'm sorry. What I don't like it being falsely accused of being arrogant. And I find it very funny that, because I don't like being called arrogant, I'm arrogant. So, what you are basically saying is I can't defend myself. PM me ONE TIME where someone didn't call me Lord and I got mad? Lemme help you out, you won't find one. I will respect people as I always have. What I am NOT going to allow is for you to disrespect me because if I RESPECT YOU, I am expecting the same back. If you're going to totally disrespect me and disregard my feelings because of the word, Lord, then apparently we weren't friends to begin with because Lord been in my name for years and never had I taken it seriously, so I don't see why you are.

[SOLVED IT MYSELF] SumRndmDde's Tilte Command Plugin question (how to add custom shutdown)
wariolandgoldpiramid posted a topic in Programming
I'm using SumRndmDde's "Title Command Plugin" and I need some help setting it up. I kind of don't like the way the Shutdown command is handled, with it simply closing the window. I would much rather have the command activate the custom shutdown plugin I have downloaded. Here's the code of that custom shutdown plugin. I need to know what Action (JS eval that binds a function to 'this') I need to use in order for this command to work, and activate said plugin. EDIT: Well, looks like I solved it already. I'm still new to analyzing MV plugins code, and I don't know JS that well. But, analyzing the code, I was able to find the code I needed, "this.commandExit.bind(this)". I gotta stop making new topics so quickly, I should try harder to find the solutions myself... -

[Request fulfilled. Thanks!] Requesting a title screen for my game.
Phil-S posted a topic in Requests
Hello everyone! I wish I had the skills to create my own title screen, but I simply don't have the skills. I'm wanting a title screen set against a black background. Looking for something simple, with the logo at the top of the screen, and in the center of the screen, a yellow chenille letter "C", like what would be on a varsity jacket in the middle of a spotlight, like so: I don't have the adequate software or skills to do this myself, so any help would be appreciated. I hope this isn't too much of an arduous task, so if it is, let me know and I'll try to come up with something simpler. These are my logos I created with the limited experience I have with logo design and Inkscape. I think they turned out not too bad. I like how simple they are, at least. I have included both a black letter transparent logo and a white letter logo set against a black background. You can feel free to use these, or to design a more professional-looking logo based on this design. Thanks to everyone who passed by this topic, and a special thanks if you have interest in helping! -
I am planning to make a game title logo shop for a small cent, so I can pay a few things in my life and probably to buy some stuff, and thinking perhaps making custom logo for anyone would be nice. These are two of my works: Note that these are samples: What do you think?

So basically I'm in need of help on making a title name similar to this: The game title I have in mind is Ragnem Savior. I can provide the logo/crest if needed. If anyone would consider this, I'd be most grateful. Thank you~

I had a simple script for Ace that added a new option to the title screen, then displayed a message when that option was chosen. Could someone make me a plugin like that for MV? The message will be one of my choosing, so don't worry too much about it. (It's a multi-project script, you see.) Thanks a million.

Author: Mr. Trivel Name: Simple Title Screen Created: 2016-03-14 Version: 1.1 What does it do? Changes title screen by making commands images and adding Press Start before command window appears. Screenshots: How to use? Title screen image is selected in database per usual. Other images go into img\system: img\system\titleCursor.png - can be omitted if cursor is set to false img\system\titleBehindCommand.png - can be omitted if behind is set to false img\system\titlePressStart.png - can be omitted if press s tart is set to false Remaining images have dynamic names which are constructor from word 'command_' and handler name. Example: command_newGame, command_continue, command_options. Those three are in default RPG Maker MV. If you have other plugins, you might need to add more images. Alternative command images when selected are named in similar fashion: commandAlt_CommandName Example: commandAlt_newGame, commandAlt_continue, commandAlt_options Plugin: <Link: Github> How to download the Plugin: Click the link above, there will be a button named Raw, press Right Click -> Save As. I would welcome some suggestions regarding my game title
Nestat posted a topic in Theory and Development
Hello everyone! Long story short, i began working on a project on April 2015. The game was simply titled 'Emphasis'. Shortly after that, i changed the title to 'Emphasis: Parallel Breach' due to the game's story. Now, some months under development, 'Emphasis' is a major "player" in the game BUT the game is not really all about this company. I was thinking that the current title focuses too much on the company; So instead of 'Emphasis: Parallel Breach', i'm considering to change the title to just 'Parallel Breach'. Can you help me by sharing your thoughts about this? EDIT: i also have this small text which probably needs corrections, so if anyone feels like it... Emphasis: Parallel Breach recounts*(1) the story of Jiro, a young boy on the run from the multi-billionaire pharmaceutical company Emphasis. While Jiro disappeared one day and his friends are looking for him, they are also trying*(2) to get behind the reason Emphasis is chasing him. A few days later, the only thing they did found out for certain, is that their lives will never be the same again. *(1) Recounts ---> Can i say that? I mean instead of "Emphasis... tells the story of Jiro...."; *(2) they are also trying to get behind the reason... ---> this, or is it "they also try to get behind the reason...." or any other correction i cannot see... Thank you!- 10 replies

Hello, I'm in a bit of a pickle I suppose. I had toyed around on RPG Maker Vx Ace on trial subscription nearly two years ago now, and have forgotten everything I had gathered in that thirty day period. I lost my data after reboot for some reason, and I cannot remember anything about the basic programming, and have no clue how to create my Title screen. I've no cue if I've put this in the right place (I'd just found the community today and made my account, this is my first post) Could someone please shine some light on my situation and give me some pointers? Maybe even some material (easy access online prefered) to study over for help? Thank you. -ObsidianMoon

How to make an event stop repeating after opening the Main Menu and starting a new game?
TetsuyaHikari posted a topic in Editor Support and Discussion
Alright, so it seems someone encountered an exploit in my project recently and I was hoping someone could help me figure out exactly how to stop it. When you start a new game, you are given a short intro, then you take one step forward and you're allowed to create your characters. Once this takes place, you are given 10 bonus points to spend to get you started. Once you distribute those points, you can't get any more. However, if you edit that character, the points will still be there and you can re-distribute them to different stats if you want, otherwise they will remain in whatever you put them in originally. Point is, the event checks to see if it's your first time creating the character. If it is, you get 10 points, if it isn't, you get 0 points. Something rather odd happened earlier today though. Someone reported a bug to me by showing a screenshot of them having 20 bonus points. They said they did this by making a mistake with the character creation process, so they opened the menu, then returned to the Title/Main Menu and started a new game. When they came back to the character creation process, the game was giving them 10 points again (on top of the 10 previous points), so they were able to constantly get an additional 10 points if they just exited to the Title/Main Menu and kept starting up a new game. Now, I've never known an event to continue running like this (sure, events continue from a load state, but I've never seen this before), so I was hoping someone could explain to me how I can prevent this from happening. What I'm trying to accomplish: A. The player should only be allowed to obtain the 10 bonus points the first time they create their character B. Should they return back to the Title/Main Menu, for whatever reason, after distributing said points, the event should restart from the beginning and assume they've never played before since they're clicking New Game, so they shouldn't get an additional 10 points when they reach the character creation process (again) -

RPG Maker MV gives you a nice title screen, but it doesn’t give you much control over what should happen before the game goes to the title screen. For example, you might want to show some splash screens, or perhaps an introductory video. With this plugin, you can easily put together what should happen before the title screen using events that you are already familiar with. Because it is an event, you can do basically anything you want! More information and downloads available at HimeWorks

Does having two different game logo considered inconsistent?
Mysticphoenix posted a topic in Theory and Development
Can a game have more than one type of logo? One for a title screen, and one for popping up after a game introduction cutscene. example : Assuming the game's name is "Magic" Here is the first logo. This one is for the title screen. And there is... This one shows up after the game intro. Does this considered inconsistent? Should I use the same logo for these two situation?- 5 replies

I actually drew this up a long time ago while I had some free time at work and I haven't touched up on it since... Looking back at it, I'm not sure how to spruce it up. It's a bit rough around the edges and I want to gather some advice on how I can shape it to make it look better. I feel that I could have made it look better if I had some graph paper so I can properly measure up the letters... Anyway, any artsy people out there than can lend me their knowledge?

Which do you guys prefer? 1) 2) Please answer in the poll above. If you want to discuss why you like it over the other, by all means, comment!

Okay, so this is kind of a narrow question... A system I'm using in my game involves the Titles system in Tales of Graces to give stat boosts and teach skills. You earn SP from enemy mobs, which raise the "title level". Upon reaching the title level, you gain the specified bonus. The issue is that it makes regular leveling somewhat awkward because they both should do the exact same thing--make a character stronger by giving them stats and skills. How should I fix this problem? Tales of Graces also seemed to have this issue. Instead of having growth rates like this... <mat growth: +0.400> <mdf growth: +0.440> <agi growth: +0.425> <luk growth: +0.350> Should I instead make it so that the player gets to choose one attribute point to increase every time someone levels up? Or what if I took out Leveling Up entirely, and gave the Titles system top priority for increasing stats and teaching skills? But if I did that, wouldn't it remove the game's sense of "progress" in leveling and promote grinding, as title levels are easier to get? Need opinions.

TA-DA! My first title screen. I actually wanted to draw it, but I simply can't. So I used pictures and effects to achieve this... I don't know if it's usable or not, of if the choice of effects was good. Aside from the font, I wanted everything to look like a painting on canvas... EDIT: After taking your advises, I came up with these:
