  1. I am looking to make a ceiling tile from tile-set A to be able to walk underneath it (only for one section). I have tried to make an event but cannot with auto tile pieces. I tried using GIMP to make the auto tile separate from the others; however, that failed miserably. I have scoured the forum for this and so far nothing works for what I need. Do I need to write a script for this? I am willing to try that but I am not too familiar with Ruby scripting (not anymore been over 10 years). Most YouTube videos I have found are not for VX but for VX Ace and MV both in which I do not have. Any help with this would be highly appreciated.

With this one, I changed the colors of the outfit, and I added makeup. Nothing too fancy, or too dull.     TOD the Grim Reaper 2

    WARNING! This game contains mild blood... well there's literally blood everywhere, but no signs of gore or the other gruesome stuff... it's just blood. There's also Strong language! TOD the grim Reaper 2 The other game that was made in only 1 week. Story: "After finishing off the almighty eldritch Deity known as the Unholy Cat, Tod decided to search for something important. After a 1000 years of wandering through the varies Portal realms, he got surprised by a Boss called "Wrath"... Tod coming to the conclusion that someone wanted to hunt him down. Prepared with his trusty Scythe, he is setting foot on yet another Journey. The Journey to find out why this game was ma-... i mean, why someone would hunt him down." This game takes place after the events of TOD the grim Reaper, in a post apocalyptic world filled with the nastiest of Monsters, Robots and mythical Beings. Characters: Yet again, you play as Tod, who decided to find out why someone would hunt him down, even though he CLEARLY killed the Creator of all beings and whatnot. WHO COULD THIS MADMAN BE!? Conclusion: As you can see, i give much care in the story. But jokes aside, this Game is just a sequel to the ever so famous Linear Hallway of Survival Game... but this time WITH A TWIST! = There are two possible endings!!! I know, it's unbelievable! Gameplay: This time around i changed up the formula of the battles. The battles are/should be much shorter than in the previous game, BUT much more dangerous! So better not spam attack, or else you will never get through the Game! This time with the addition of "Items can be collected in varies locations" and a minimap to help you out where to find them. And as mentioned, a different path you can walk(which is mostly still the same, you just have to beat up some additional bosses) to experience a different ending that the previous Version of TOD 2 didn't had. Thanks: And again, i would like to thank many people who have invested the time in playing this game! Without you guys, i wouldn't be able to pull off such a weird experimental Phase of my Game making Life! Version 2: As stated above, this is Version 2 of TOD 2. Here's what i did to balance things out: -Balance enemy stats -Balance skill damage -Balance Boss battles -Added different graphics + i put more atmosphere to it. -Added Hard mode -Added a alternate Final Boss -etc. (Can't think of something else right now.)   4. Greetings everyone ! I am currently facing a hard decision . I have too storyline I really appreaciate and I would like to make a game out of both of them however , I really cannot which one to start with . This way , I would like you to tell me which one would you prefer : The first one , it involves several characters (around 15) , this will be a visual novel , survival , sci-fi , mystery , point and click game . In this game , people will die and you will have to discover who is the murderer behind each crime in order to execute them to gain something and discover what has mysteriously happened to them . The storyline will have twists and be rather psychological . There will be a point and click interface , you will be able to interact which characters and get to know their backstory . The second , has fewer characters (around 4) , this will be a 2D cute , fantasist , mystery and magic game . In this game , you will have to discover a mystery involving around the main character when she finds out that her crush mysteriously disappears and that people around seem to freeze without even noticing it . There will be many mini games but it will be mainly about sinking for specific items to go through the storyline which will lead to several endings . There are two pictures : the two first pictures shows most of the characters ( I haven't drawn all of them yet) from the first (survival) game idea and the second picture shows an exemple of point and click interface . There two last pictures show two maps from the second (cute) game .
  5. Hey all, I'm wondering if I can make a buff apply to my entire party (of 4), but only have the audio file play once? Right now, whenever I apply to the buff to my party members, I hear the audio file 4 times, but I don't want that. If it's not possible, please let me know.
  6. Hey all, I've run into an issue regarding the removal of NPCs and I'm not sure how to fix it. I'm trying to make an event (NPC) disappear after I move out of the room. I used a switch on one of the tiles that are used to exit the room, to trigger an event on my NPC that makes her disappear (switched from visible graphic to no graphic). When I walked back into the room after leaving it, they NPC was still there! What am I doing wrong and how can I fix this?

    Piggyback Sprite (VX/Ace)

    Hello, everyone! ♥ Thank you for reading this. In the project I'm working on right now, there are two friends named Drake and Kyrie. The sprites of each character were easily made; the thing is: I really need a sprite where Drake is giving Kyrie a piggyback ride in the style of VX/Ace sprites. I desperately googled for piggyback sprites to edit these myself but it was no use - I didn't find anything. That's why I wanted to ask you guys if you could create a piggyback sprite of Drake and Kyrie for me or if you know of any piggyback sprite I could edit. It's for a non-commercial game - credit will be given, of course. Here are the sprites of Drake an Kyrie: - Drake - - Kyrie - I hope this is a manageable request...!     Formula Help

    This topic will be available to anyone wishing to get help with a formula (I know I'll probably be asking for help on a couple of them myself), so feel free to post questions here, rather than open a new topic for formula help. (On that note, can I request that this topic be stickied/bookmarked or something, so that people don't have to search through the backlog of topics later on?) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anyway, onto my question: ((a.atk + a.agi) * (a.luk / 100)) - b.def Does this look right? Or do I need to format it a different way? I want the attacker's ATK and AGI to factor into the equation, and multiply the result by the attacker's LUCK stat divided by 100. All this is against the target's DEF stat. General advice and opinions are welcome and encouraged.
  9. i was using rpg maker vx ace yesterday,and it was working fine,but when i launched it today,it says ive changed the clock settings to defeat security purposes,and i havent touched the clock settings at all yesterday,what is going on?,it worked fine on my old computer....
  10. Hello, my dear reader! ♥ I hope this is a managable request. I have two scripts here, which are used for creating special states. Especially for interesting skills, these states are very useful. The first one I'm speaking of is the mana shield script by Kingsofrpg. It basically turns HP damage to MP damage when hit. The second one is the protect skill script by Kal. When the state is inflicted on an ally, the person who did that receives all the damage that is targeted to the ally. These scripts on their own work pretty good, but using both of them in an project will cause rather nasty problems. As far as I can tell, the mana shield works perfectly fine, but it somehow seems to mess with the protection skill. When using the protection skill, the ally that is inflicted with the protect-state (note: NOT the one, who inflicted this state on the ally) is taking MP damage. Yup, that's not a typo, I really mean MP damage and not HP damage. Furthermore, the ally can't even get inflicted with the protect-state, when he/she has no MP left. In addition, the ally also can't get inflicted with the protect-state, when he/she already is inflicted with the mana shield state. Maybe it's worth noting that the protection skill-script is placed below the mana shield-script. Changing that order causes even nastier problems, which include error messages. Oh! And because it probably matters, I want to mention that I'm also using Tankentai. I hope I didn't left out some crucial information. If there are any more questions, I'll gladly answer them! I had toyed around on RPG Maker Vx Ace on trial subscription nearly two years ago now, and have forgotten everything I had gathered in that thirty day period. I lost my data after reboot for some reason, and I cannot remember anything about the basic programming, and have no clue how to create my Title screen.   14. So this is a bit of a question and a request. So in my game I'm using Yami Battle symphony engine. now onto my question, Is it possible to do the following 1. Is it possible to only inflict a status effect when the weak element is hit. For example; If I land a critical or hit the enemies weak point, as long as it is not a AOE spell or the enemy is not inflicted with the state already, I can inflict a state 2. If I do inflict that state is it possible to actually get an extra turn by doing so? for example, If I Hit the enemies weak point and I inflict say "Burn" I get an extra turn by doing so. A good example of this system would be persona 3's combat system. Thank you for advance for the help and replies.

    The Enemy is Adapting!

    Hello everyone. LordSquirrel here for my very first blog post! Today I wanted to talk about something I was planning to post in the Theory and Development, but decided that it may be more appropriate to do as a blog post. I wanted to talk about enemy adaption in rpg's. To clarify. I'm talking about how enemies adapt to the party's level, members, or health. I've currently been working on a game that I've given the codename of "The Plague", if you're wondering what it's about, don't worry, I'll be posting something either on this blog or the Theory and Development board detailing the outline of the story in a few days. Anyway. In the game you have several party members that can be recruited throughout the game, each character has a specific role in progress, (damage, healing, buffing ect...) and a thought occurred to me as I set up a early game boss battle, "What if I had it adjust it's moves and behavior based on what actors are in the party?" What I mean is, what if I had Crow (A character that specializes in ending battles quickly with either instant kill attacks, or by breaking through the enemy defense) in the party while the party is fighting a Boss who primarily focuses on turtling and waiting for the party to drain their MP reserves? Well the fight would be pretty easy as Crow can break through the Boss' defense fairly quick and then the battle would just be a few powerful strikes away from completion. And while I do like to reward my players for bringing the right tools to the fight I also like making the fight as difficult as I can. Started to add in some events that would check which actors are in the party, and would add, or remove skills based on which actors there were. While I was doing this a thought struck me, "Will people like this, or will they say it's just annoying?" after a while of thinking it over and getting nowhere I decided that I should ask you guys which you like more: Boss' that actively adapt to your party no matter what, or do you prefer it to be something that only happens on specified difficulties or special modes? The main reason why I ask is because I can't actually think of any game that does something like this.

Feel free to move it if it is. xwx EDIT: Ive finished working on the UI for now and the harder I try to learn how to do this it seems like the less info comes up. I may need a little elp in makin it if this trend keeps up. Google just does not seem to like me lately.... This generator is a product of my own frustration and pickiness with the other ones out there. One didnt have the layering I wanted while another did but not enough resources, and no children ones since some of my planned games have kids featured in.     Healing Pad (Mini-Tutorial) I couldn't find this (If it does exist it's either not on this forum or I didn't see it) so I thought I'd post a small tutorial up for anyone looking to create an event which heals over time when standing on it, one of the simplest things you can do with events. This tutorial has two sections called Text Section and Pictures Section. What you need: 1 Switch 3 Variables 1 Region Text Section: Healing Pad Activation Event (The event you stand on) 1. First you create an event, in its commands list add two Control Variables commands from Tab 1. 2. Next you set these two variables to the Player's Map X and Map Y which are under Game Data > Character. 3. Create a common event in the Database called Healing Pad (or whatever) and then go back to the event from earlier, call the common event you just created at the end of this commands list. 4. Set a Region on the tile this event is on, set a graphic such as a hexagram for the event. Healing Pad Common Event (The event which actually heals) 1. Go back to the common event you created and add the Get Location Info command from Tab 3. 2. Set the variable for a variable called Region ID then set the Info Type to Region ID. 3. Under Location set the two variables to the Map X and Map Y variables from the Activation Event. 4. Now create a Conditional Branch which checks to see if the Region ID variable is equal to the region you are using. 5. In this branch add a Control Switches command and name the switch you are using to Heal Pad (or whatever) and set it to ON. 6. Add a Change HP command after this and set the amount to whatever you want, set the actor being healed or just leave it as entire party if want it to heal all members. 7. Add a Wait command for 90 frames to the end of this commands list. 8. In the Else section of the branch set the switch from earlier to OFF. 9. Set this common event to Parallel Process and assign the Condition Switch as the switch you are using. Pictures Section: Healing Pad Activation Event Healing Pad Common Event EDIT Possible Problem The healing common event may not be working as intended. Problem Fix 1. Create another common event called Location Tracker (or whatever), put the two Control Variables commands for Map X and Map Y here. 2. Put the Get Location Info command from the other common event after these variables. 3. Set the Condition Switch and then put this common event on Parallel Process, set the condition switch to ON at the start of the game.

Completion Make a parallel event go on only if the switch "Timer Start" is on. -Conditional branch -If Eric is Inflicted with state "Timer" -nothing happens -else -Transfer the player back to the entrance (this is when the timer ends) END Suggestions: ***Make the state have a low priority so it shows last next to all other states, and make the icon invisible. **Use music during to remind the player they are on a step timer. *Use for anything like looking for an item, rescuing an NPC, procrastinating in a room, robbing a place.
  25. Hunter's Moon - The Idea Hey guys! So, I've been making RPG Maker games since XP has come out. Although I've never published anything because I never really thought it'd be worth anyone's time. Well now I have an amazing Idea, that I would love to make a harvest moon/rune factory type of game. I think whoever is a fan of these games would really enjoy something like this. It will be more Rune Factory based though. What I mean by that is basically, there will be leveling up, there will be dungeons, monsters to fight. (Although animals that you would keep would just be animals, not monsters.) It will be simple, and fun (hopefully). The thing is though, I definitely can't do all of this by myself, and I can't pay anyone to help me, but hopefully I get some volunteers that would like to help me with the upcoming systems, such as weather systems (When it rains on certain days and then doesn't), Festivals, and of course cooking systems, fishing, mining, crafting, forgery, medicine, etc. I've already started some mapping, and I do consider myself a decent mapper. I will be showing later on what the maps will look like, but I guarantee everyone that I will be working very hard on this stuff. . I want to focus more though, on how things are going to work first, and then mapping and all the pretty decadent stuff should be last. I mean, mapping is important, but you could have glorious maps and a shitty system right? On a side note, I've been working on another game called Iris. I got a lot of good comments for my mapping, I'm just too busy at this very moment to show anyone anything from it. But I do have pictures I can send of my mapping if anyone needs anything certified that I'm not just blowing air out of my butt. Anyway, Here is the plot that I've conjured up, and the backgrounds of the characters. This isn't finished yet and some things are a little vague. But this was all typed up on word perfect for ideas. So please excuse the lack of information for some things. I'm also looking for future voice actors, so if anyone knows of anyone who knows how to do this, I would be thrilled to know. But they must have these requirements: -A decent microphone (to avoid static and sorts) -Good acting skills -Knows the characters personality well -Will not bail on me at the very last minute before things are finished! (it's happened) There will be 5 characters to voice in total, including the 1 main character, along with the 4 bachelorettes. The faces were all illustrated using the Character Machine created by Erangot. The maps will be made by using Celiana and Lunaria's tileset, with some of Yanfly's scripts. Story: A Hunter's Moon is arising, it is the first full moon after the Harvest Moon. It's the perfect time where it is clear enough to see out in the dark, making it ideal for hunter's to see better at night. The Hunting Village of Acadena is finding it scarce to find food as the years go on. People seem to be moving away to more convenient towns that have food and supplies. And so the animals are starting to migrate to the south and the east of the province. The Forest Spirit: A soul that has not crossed the realm of the dead. She walks the earth in order to finish what she started. A guardian of the realm within nature. The Forest spirit is beyond angry at mankind for forgetting about how to treat nature. She feels as though she has been forgotten. In order to make them remember, the forest spirit is declining the villagers of their resources. Acadena used to be more of a prosperous land, but she feels as though humans have contaminated it. What is making the earth quakes? An entity sucking al the life out of the area, in order to show her existence. and to grab the villagers attention. she is angry at the townspeople for forgetting about her. Disapearing animals? Animals are leaving because of the earthquakes, that have also caused a lack of food The goal? Although her and grandfather have encountered technical problems every time they want to start it. It's called a Hover Lifter, it's powered by steam. Connection to Victor: Her and Victor are childhood friends. Victor moved away when they were about 10. But one day while Gwyn took a stroll on the beach of Acadena, she finds Victor washed up on shore with piles of driftwood. Heart/Friend Events System: 1: Gwyn takes Victor to take a look around the shop. Talks about what she does there. 2: Gwyn takes Victor to see what her and her grandfather are working on around the shop, and how they plan to see the world when the vehicle is finished. 3: Gwyn and Victor hang out at the beach. She asks about his past. He asks about her scar. She mentions it a little, but seems very weary about it. 4: Gwyn makes Victor new armour, They talk more about the hover lifter. 5: Gwyn talks more about how Victor plans to get back home, or if he even wants to go or stay in Acadena, Victor thinks about perhaps leaving if he gets the chance. Gwyn gets upset and leaves. 6: Gwyn and Victor talk about how upset she was last time and work out the fact that Victor doesn't necessarily want to leave if there's nothing out there left for him to go to. 7: Gwyn and Victor go up to the forest peak/mountains and talk about the latest events that happened between him and the last boss. 8: Gwyn tries her hand at cooking something for Victor, they talk and hang out for a bit 9: Gwyn confesses her love. 10: You are now a couple. Heart/Friend Events: 1: Juniper talks about the first time Victor lived in Acadena and how he met Gwyn. 2: Juniper asks Victor to come try some of her cooking. She makes something especially for him, and they talk a while. 3:Juniper asks if Victor minds helping her around the Inn to clean up a bit, since she's short on help. Juniper trips, when Victor catches her fall. 4: Juniper talks to Victor and thanks him for helping her the other day. That if he ever needs information about anything, that he is welcome to read up on whatever he likes, but not to bother her. 3: Victor comes in and asks if Freya would like to take a break from her studies and come outside for a stroll with him. She says she has no time, but then Victor scolds her and says she needs to get some sun and be active in order to stay healthy. Brings her to the outside flowerbed, she thanks him, and then returns to her studies 4: Freya asks Victor to take a potion drink that will make him feel energized again. He takes it and tells Freya that she should have become a nurse or something. He asks her why she insists on spending so much of her time in medicine. She says that's a story for another day. 5: Freya asks if Victor would like to go see the flowerbed that she's been working on. They go see it, but on they're way back to the library, Freya collapses. He calls Gwyn to come help him. Freya explains that ever since she was a little girl, she's had an illness that makes her very weak at times. That's why she must study to discover cures for this illness, along with many others. She does not want others to go through what she goes through. 6: Victor comes in an asks if she's feeling any better lately from the last time they spoke. She says that it has ceased from being too bothersome. Victor asks if there's anything that he can do. And the only thing that she's come up with so far is, that there is a flower, high in the mountains where no one can get to anymore, because the bridge that crosses over to this sacred meadow has been cut off. This flower has been said to cure just about any severe illness if boiled into a serum. 7: Since Freya has been cured, she feels a lot more energized, and asks if they can go for a stroll. They go to the mountain top and she thanks Victor, for making her life the way it is after defeating the last boss. 8: Freya asks Victor if she thinks she is dull. But Victor says that Freya is one of the most interesting people he's ever met. and that she's so brave and courageous for what she done for everyone.
