Request to have your game 'Let's Played'!

Recommended Posts

But the NPCs told me to hurry up and get to the king... Why would I want to go find a date when nobody is thinking about my own well-being above their own? :P

And Alan can get the Gold on his own, he's a big boy now, I'm sure he can handle it.

Whether or not I don't have to play the rest (which is a given, I don't have to play anybodies games, I just do) does not mean I won't, I'll keep playing it.

I'm a little saddened to hear that you've halted production though :(

Your eventing is fine, it's the cutscenes you need to look out for. For one that Big monster thing appeared too early, you need to make him wait a little longer for the animation; also you don't float downstream like that, the frequency needs to be picked so that Logan is constantly moving.

Your writing style is also good, the people seemed to have different personalities, though I think you can expand on it a little bit. I didn't get bored quickly reading through it, if that helps any.

Oh, that glowing thing is the town's Runic Ward, they play a part later in the story and the monks in the temple talk about it.

I honestly shudder to think about what you will say of my game, hahaha

I know it's not all that good, but still, worried, xD

As long as YOU think it's good, nothing else really matters.

Everyone hates random encounters. That's not saying much. But still, it's pretty much the same thing I said for my review a couple days before, especially about the voice-over part.

Really need to fix up that voice-over... I did that before I got my tounge-tie cut so I was trying to keep it straight rather then good.

Oh crap, I thought I removed Top Stage Heat and stuff. I couldn't get it to work so heat levels were axed.

The Thermal Gear doesn't work and was going to remove it from the game but forgot to, OOPS!

You died because you ran out of stamina. Make sure to use your tent and drink water when in the volcano! Stimulants will also regenerate stamina, and the tent controls saving.

It was also great to see how people played the game. I'm sorry if the tutorials seemed a bit much, but there was a lot to get across. You could also figure out a lot more about the story by browsing the Codex. You probably could've just skipped the first 2 and saved some time.

Overall, thanks a lot DP3!

(BTW, you put a 2, but there is no 2 in Breathwind's title because it's the first game, lol)

Oh, and a hint for getting through the volcano faster. Follow the statues, unless you want to find bonus items. I'm also going to add more to that cutscene, I didn't realize how underdescribed it was.

Hmm, well I think you may enjoy my previous project, Ropetown RPG:

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BzqEGuFHynBORFlqZW41c0ROWlU/edit

It's a semi-satirical game that I made for some friends. It's well-polished as they have all played it and tested it basically, and I think you would enjoy it. For one thing, no random battles! Lots of object interaction and a lot of humor.

Doggie - Well I do love me some humour, I don't really have much commentary for games that are absolutely serious all the time.

Well it still has an actual story and elements of drama. The game isn't just a bunch of lampshading (in fact that's none of that.) Here are some screenshots:

The story follows an adventurer who joins a guild and is then sucked into a murder investigation. If you're still not interested, I understand. Thanks for your consideration anyhow.

I think you may have misunderstood me. I said I love humourous games and had accepted (albeit subtlely)... what made you think I wasn't interested?

Oh, I misread and thought you had said: "While I do like humor, I don't have much commentary for games that aren't serious all the time." Looking forward to it!

You didn't grab the pile of gold from the guild master's desk.....

What do you think about the way I handled the slime crystals?  You can do those in any order and the plot still plays out correctly.

If you don't mind playing through some kind of bad JRPG experience, you can always take a gander at my game, which is in desperate need of review anyway.

EST. Completion time: Still in progress, but I've gotten up to 11 hours.

Some known bugs to look out for:

-- When you kill an enemy via a Status Ailment (i.e. Poison), you'll get an error.

-- If you use Combo Skills after all enemies are defeated, you'll still be able to Combo anyway, which just wastes away at TP.

The guild master deserves to keep his prize posessions, I'm not going to steal from my sensai.

I think you used a variable and added one to it everytime I made a life force crystal, then called a common event which checks what number the variable is and plays the corresponding scene.

'Difficult' is not the word you're looking for :(

Alright. I wouldn't expect 11 hours to be finished anytime soon though. Edited by DP3

DP3, you do have a tent, it's a key item so you have to scroll all the way to the right to find it, xD

I will take all that advice. More stamina items (I'm also going to make stimulants regen more stamina), and more enemy variety (and no mimics, lol). Also, you only should receive the codex entry the first time you challenge a monster because it adds the codex for that monster.

By the way, not sure if you ever solved the problem of stamina going down during message boxes, but one way you could do it is have stamina decrease only when a certain switch is off, which we'll refer as Switch X. Then, when dialogue starts, just turn on switch X before the dialogue begins and turn it off when it ends. That way you can also disable it whenever you want, such as during cinematics.

Problem is, there is an unbelievable amount of text in this game. It would take me hours to go over every single piece of text and such. There is over 3 hours of story content for this game, and there is a lot of talking. Like, Walking Dead or Mass Effect level of talking. I'm going to make a script request for turning a switch off whenever the game is displaying text.

By the way, at the end there DP3, it was the stamina that did you in. You're supposed to lose that battle. There's more dialogue after that, but I'm working on revamping the entire thing right now. I'm going to throw a few changes I'm making at you guys, see what you think.

-Stamina max increased to 500.

-Thirst, Hunger, and Sleep all increased by 100

-Everything but Stamina decreases by 1 every 3 seconds (180 frames).

-Stamina decreases by 1 every 5 seconds (300 frames).

-Chests have a wider variety of items, money rewards lessened.

-There will be more chests.

-Cold/Heat decrease/increase by 1 every 3 seconds (180 frames).

-Thermal Gear/Warm Clothing concept axed.

-Food/Water stamina burn rate decreased (takes more time).

-Items that increase Thirst, Hunger, Sleep, and Stamina all have increased effectiveness.

-Tent no longer requires firewood to use, but will not set Temperature back to 0 without firewood (if temperature is below 0) or a cooling scroll (if temperature above 0).

-Completely re-made introductory cutscene.

-Tutorial spread across area using pictures in combination with text to better explain game concepts.

-Move clock to bottom left of screen.

Wanted Features

-Ability to automatically disable HUD and entire survival system when text is displayed.

No problem, mate. I did watch part of the Witchtooth Playthrough that you did; the game looked bad, to be completely frank, but it was still the longest Playthrough I think you mentioned. I just wasn't sure if you were in the mood to do something like that again.
