LOL DP3!

Download the newest version, I fixed that issue, hahahaha

Or, technically, you did, :P

You could of course just wait for Episode 1 to come out. It shouldn't be all that much longer, I have gotten quite far in development actually, :)

That script snippet you gave me to shut it off during dialogue, :D

That battle music is wrong.

5:23. Absolutely no Mimics in this game. At all.

You shouldn't be punished for exploration, I think, which is the whole reason you are out in the field in the first place.

21:43. To be honest, I pulled the name from a card in Cardfight!!~Vanguard that's named "Yggdrasil Maiden Elaine". I didn't know "Yggdrasil" was referenced in the "Tales of" Franchise.

22:35. I knew that was coming. :|

23:21. That's actually caused by Victor's Follower Command, which I really don't want to fix because it's trivial in and of itself.

24:00. Lee-ed.

Yggdrasil is actually the name of The world tree from Norse mythology, so anything that uses it is just copy/pasting from mythology. But then again everything in fantasy just about does so no one gets pissed... Too bad I don't own royalty rights to some of that crap it would be an awesome way to live. :P

So, when I say "Yggdrasil Elven Blade", it actually means "The World Tree's Elven Blade".

I was excited when I ran across this post.  I was quickly unexcited when you said absolutely no horror games.  T_T

Too bad.  I would've loved your reaction to my mini nightmare game I'm working on.  Think Slenderman in a RPG sense.  hehehe

I don't understand why you can't use Aura Blade... I'm going to fix that, lol

Combat does seriously need some balancing though, I'll work on that.

As for the mapping, I have tightened it up quite a bit in Episode 1 when you're not just out in the world exploring. So been condensed it has.

I personally like the Stamina system, you're free to hate it. It works better in context with the open-world then it does with that short prologue section.

The Dragons have combat in their blood. The reason they befriended them is because someone (The Hero of Old) with the same power and strength that they had rose up and killed so many of them, and he gained their respect. When he fell their leader, they felt bound to let him lead them. With that, The Hero of Old and the mages of the land forged the Riders bond that links one human and one Dragon together. The humanity of the Rider balances out the natural bloodlust of the Dragons so that they can finally see past their base and primitive compulsions so that they can use their potential for complicated and quite human emotions.

Anyways, yes, there is a lot more development and such in Episode 1. Adam and Morgan both get a lot more time to develop then Meathran did in his short stint. There's also just generally more characters, more freedom, and more stuff to do.

Overall, yes, the next part already is much better. Just need to work out the bugs in my mining system... and finish everything else. I'm quite far though, nearing the end of Chapter 4 (there are 5 story chapters).

I would say "I'm sorry", but I'm not. I don't like horror games, whether they are bad at scares or otherwise.

Perhaps it should be disabled for the prologue then; if it works better for open-world it should probably stick to that rather than throw me in a volcano when I don't even know how to use it.

Alrighty then, I think I'm following.

Well, the prologue is really nothing more then a glorified tutorial level to get used to those systems.

Man how did I come up with that stuff? You sure do love animal wrangling DP3. I sincerely regret not making random chickens grabbable.

By the way, DP3, I noticed you started playing Crossing. The author was banned so it's possible he may not even see the video. It's interesting seeing you play the same games that I've reviewed though, just to see if you run into the same issues I did.

Ok but throwing newcomers into a volcano, which speeds up the deterioration of stamina, doesn't help ease into it.

Straight up you're introduced with survival metres and your only help with figuring it out is your own survival instincts.

Does this metre affect that metre? Which ones cause me a game over? Why is there a tutorial on battling? These are questions I was asking myself.

Don't answer, just tell me that if you weren't used to the thing and you just started playing your game, how quickly would you get used to it? do you honestly believe that you've explained it well enough in your tutorial that any idiot can understand it.

Remember it's a game, virtually I forget that my characters need to piss every now and then and that they don't eat or drink unless they get to an Inn in two weeks time.

Man how did I come up with that stuff? You sure do love animal wrangling DP3.

Love isn't the word I'd use B)

I sincerely regret not making random chickens grabbable.

Well I actually wanted to jump off cliff edges with them and attempt to land on lower cliff edges, so I don't I would've been happy regardless :(

It ain't so much that I enjoy mashing 'Z' on animals, it's really more because nobody uses wait timers on them before they make another sound, thus allowing me to hear 20 SEs at once if I wanted to. I just like exploiting that; I'd do the same to a human if they had a 'hurrdurrdurrhurrdadurr' that would be played the same way (yes I'm giving you ideas ;)).

Why is this game so hilarious?

I'm not sure if that's a rhetorical question or if you were even asking me?

Rhetorical, mixed with a little bit of seriousness.

5:00. Siegfried is a massive ninja like that. I also like all of the profanity you spewed at that point; it kind of reminds me of the time my sister gave me a mix-and-match profanity book and the first two tabs I open to are fuck and wit.

9.20. I actually got rid of that encounter. Thought it might be good for a scare, though.

10:53. That's a massive derp there. I'll be sure to fix that.

11:57. That's actually probably going to be an achievement in a new update. Maybe.

13:10. Like a kid in a candy store. :D

21:50. If I had to venture a guess, it's probably from all the lighting effects used in the map. Plus all the events + enemies. And I'm still working on some kind of escape mechanism for the game, but I'm a massive idiot. :(

22:50. It's one of the black dirt tiles. From the lighting, it looks like a massive hole, but it's not.

Also, you have a shitton of JP. But I want to see how far you can make it without investing in any skills first, because that sounds like a great challenge.

Also, I can already tell you are going to have a LOOOOTT of fun on the next puzzle.

For slashing every vine in the area? Haha, I actually did that to see if anything would happen.

Oh, and as for this, I re-worked the tutorial in the newest version and it is a lot cleaner and less confusing if you just look at the basic one. It's also driven with visual aids, :)

I'd actually make a giant plant monster appear which pretty much kicks your arse.

That'll teach you to cut down plants

Just my opinion though... Also 'Achievement Get: The Best Gardener.'

For the Ropetown thing, at 7:04, that's definitely World of Warcraft.

15:30 That was hilarious.

24:41. My cat has actually done that to me. On several occasions, I've also woken up with her ass in my face. Cats are weird like that.

lol "I like holding A when I attack". I didn't even know you could do that, to be honest.

You didn't do your fancy go to Title Screen at the end. That made me just a little bit sad.

I'm also glad that Annie gets on your nerves. That's how I wanted to make her. :P

EDIT: If every person was compared to Tales of Graces in this game, Leon would be Asbel, Annie would be Pascal, and Yukari is...yes, Hubert. If I had a nickel every time this game was compared to Tales of Graces...

Yes you can :D and I've been doing it the entire time.

I didn't even know I was doing something fancy like that :|

Has to be done, there's just so many references to ToG throughout the game that eventually I end having to compare everything.

Annie does not compare to Pascal, Pascal never annoyed me.
