Radiant Arin 412 Posted March 2, 2013 So, what I have planned for my next project is, there are four different "categories" of weapons. Different categories of weapons all have different strengths, but no particular category of a weapon is inherently stronger than the other. So far what I have planned is that there is an item rarity scale, ranging from grey (vendor trash), white (vendor trash), green (vendor trash), blue (vendor trash), yellow (vendor trash), purple (ultimate weapons). The four different categories of weapons also vary in terms of speed, how many attacks you can do, the element of the weapon, etc. This is what I have planned so far: Iblis weaponry: Higher Speed, Higher Agility, able to make more moves per turn, less damage. Vella weaponry: Higher Magic Attack, Boosts MP at the cost of lacking in regular Attack/Defense/Evade. Ganymede weaponry: Higher Attack, Boosts HP at the cost of lacking in Magic Attack/Defense/Magic Evade. Sheratan weaponry: Purely elemental weaponry. Has lower ATK/MAT than Ganymede/Vella but doesn't have the added perks of boosting MP/HP. How do you think this one will work out, guys? Flop or flip? Ocedic 249 Posted March 2, 2013 Well, hard to say based on just the item system itself, but I do notice a lot of RM games can be stingy on drops and loot even though that's one of the great joys of RPG's and helps keep things interesting to give the player constant character advancement, so any system that is based around lots of equip drops seems like a step in the right direction to me. Perhaps you should differentiate it from Borderland's system in some way. They use corporations for their guns and you're using what I imagine are races or factions, perhaps you should just do it solely on weapon types like swords, spears, axes, etc.

Radiant Arin 412 Posted March 12, 2013 Since, in my mind this counts as a necrobump, and that the topic has already run it's course anyway, I'm locking this. Hooray, I get to use my new mod powers.
