shadowblack 103 Posted February 20, 2014 The curved walls look great. I'd love to see more like them.
Cait 385 Posted February 20, 2014 I thought that might be the response, so it is official that I will be doing them all. I haven't decided to release them one at a time or all at once. I like the way these look, much better than the square they have going. Sometimes, it is a good thing, like in towers, but not caves.
Cait 385 Posted February 21, 2014 UPDATE: My work in progress for my newest dungeon edits, which will give you added control over the look of your dungeons. Straight walls, curved walls and it really makes your dungeons go from okay, to awesome.
Cait 385 Posted February 23, 2014 (edited) I realized that I forgot to add a certain graphic for my Gothic set, which was brought to my attention, so I am correcting that. I, also, have a great deal of graphics to give you. Part one of my Egyptian set, but there's still another part for the outside and the walls I will upload tomorrow. I have some graphics for a modern school, Japanese school stuff to be exact. I figure we don't all attend the same type of school so it was stupid not to have foreign inspired school items. My schools are one way, and yours might be another. It's just smarter this way. ^Japanese restaurant ^Egyptian tiles ^Gothic - Dark walls ^Japanese styled school for whatever reason ^A bridge, a platform and a tombstone. I am not certain of the legality of using it in a commercial project, as seeing it is a common symbol in Japan. I do not know Japanese or American law concerning this graphic, so ... the tombstone is free, while the other two graphics are for both. I hope you understand what I am saying. Now, the last graphic is a special one to me. Imagine you are creating your game and need for your or someone else's graphic to be encased in ice. You know like the RTP characters, but you don't have the graphic. You bug and try to get someone to do it, only nothing. Fear not, for I, have created a graphic that you don't realize that you need. That's it. I will upload these to my OP, only my internet isn't exactly fast at this moment, so I figured you'd rather just have the graphics. Am I, right or what? The Dragon God 34 Posted March 1, 2014 To be very clear, aside from the Red Carpet Stairs, every tile in your Floor Tileset is free to use commercially? Also IF so I'll credit you as Cait and IF you want a free copy of the game please sign up with free membership at my website so I can keep track of you and other people who want a free copy. Thank you. http://www.shadowsphere.webs.com
Cait 385 Posted March 1, 2014 In the rich tiles, the paintings are real paintings and that's the only other one. The rest are free to use. I even double checked to make sure, never hurts. Hmm, I might put up a list of graphics that are unavailable for commercial use. I'll sign up.
The Dragon God 34 Posted March 1, 2014 Specifically I need broken wooden and stone bridges that can be used to make long bridges, those wooden planks that are called "piers" are unusable because I can't walk on them during test plays, also I need them to be wide, to act like a highway BUT they are more medieval looking for small transport like carriages and wagons. Specifically, 2-3 tile spaces wide. Oh and I need sunken bridges, like ruins and are submerged under water partially poking out. IF you got or can make these that I can use commercially that be excellent and I'll credit you and give you a free copy of the game. Also I wouldn't mind forming a business relationship, your work is impressive!! ^^
Cait 385 Posted March 2, 2014 I have a quick question, world map or in the town?
The Dragon God 34 Posted March 2, 2014 Specially my world map. My project is based off the game series I've been designing since August 2008. So this is my signature game series, I've got to get this right, I got 80 fans so far, I don't want to let them down. On a side note, I like creating relationships with talented people such as yourself and hope my work can be of help to you and other people. ^^
Cait 385 Posted March 18, 2014 (edited) Hello again! I haven't been doing many free graphics lately as most of my efforts have been towards cleaning the house or doing graphics on my own game with an occasional thought towards the last couple chapters of my book. o.o' I have had editor's block something fierce lately. Anyway I have been doing round graphics but got a bit carried away doing the tower set from XP. -_-' *Sigh* Really carried away. Anyway I am a bit uncertain for the rights but I am thinking free unless someone comes in and tells me why I could up the rights on these puppies. Anyway here they are. I swear that a scene made from these graphics reminds me of the remake of the game: Ys III: Wonderers from Ys. Or at least in spirit mind you. Cait 385 Posted April 5, 2014 I have been stressed about moving so I was messing around with graphics. I have to admit that my doors are a bit bigger than celianna's as I think her size of her doors are a good size. I have been experimenting using textures and I think it has really started to pay off. Anyway, I created new gate but I had trouble uploading these puppies. I have crappy internet at the moment. My favorite tool on gimp has to be the wind filter as it helps out a lot.
Spectre 829 Posted April 6, 2014 Sorry to hear about the moving. Not sure how things will get better, but I do hope they do. As for the graphics, they look good as always No really. The doors are really pretty.
+ Retired 274 Posted April 6, 2014 Awesome doors - I hope move is not too stressful
Cait 385 Posted April 8, 2014 Thanks! I think the saddest thing is that I have a great game concept and getting better at graphics... Then, this... But I have my laptop, so... Maybe, I might be able to do a graphic, now and then.
Cecillia 652 Posted April 8, 2014 Keep up the great work Cait. Take your time with you resources!
Cait 385 Posted April 8, 2014 I am just happy that the fear of eventual homelessness has faded from the picture, which means that I will have the chance to grow. Yeah, I am really looking forward to improving and a class or two in art might help further. I hope to learn to do faces, but You're Right that I should take my time. I never work well when stress or thinking I have to get X done quickly.. Plus, I am looking forward to better internet. I have gates, new that replaces the ones I took down, but my ability to put them up isn't too good. You guys have a lot to look forward to, because I have been removing that nasty RTP metal pattern I got obsessed with. Urgh?! My worst choice when making metal is so easy, plus, my body has a lot of caffeine recently. Note: I have been thinking of doing a nerd's science fiction pack with graphics inspired by a lot of famous science fiction and only a cheap price of five dollars free use and ten dollars commercial use. I would have to do quite a bit of graphics, only not so good with characters. I imagine that with research, gathering ideas and taking my time, I could finish in a couple of months to a year. I do think there is a need for true science fiction tiles, because I love Science fiction quite a bit. Would anyone be interested in those type of tiles? I said I would never charge, but I imagine that if I made it so cheap that it is almost like giving it away. o.o Yeah, I think quite a bit, but I imagine the quality would be like those new doors.
Cecillia 652 Posted April 8, 2014 Yeah, i'd definitely be interested! I love science fiction tilesets. They are the best in my opinion xD
When Bugs Roam Ur House 656 Posted April 8, 2014 Those doors look awesome. : ) You made a lot of them! And imo, i'm impressed how much detail as well as time you put into making them. It's really good to know that you have found a place. I think the idea of homelessness is a very scary thing. It's a bit haunting to imagine it being a real possibility and feeling that fear. I think it's haunting as well though because it's something that kind of sticks into your psyche. It is nice to see you are still up to drawing and updating your thread though, despite that. Keep your mind off negative things; and keep improving. : ) I still remember your first drawing here and you have definitely gotten better. I am far from giving professional advice. But if you are really looking to improve, i think i would recommend analyzing real-life references more. Yes, it is inconvenient, but it makes sense: the more you look at what you're drawing, and admit what you can improve on, the better you will get. Another thing i would recommend would be studying what you want to improve on in the Summer. Again, i am far from professional; but i think in studying anatomy heavily during my gr.10 Summer, my anatomy was able to significantly improve. You will get better though. Just keep practising, working for what you really want. And it will come. We all want to get better at something, or obtain something better. Art has never really been about that though-- It should be about having fun. : )
Spectre 829 Posted April 8, 2014 Glad to hear you've settled in somewhere, and hopefully that feeling of security stays. Hate to work without basic human needs, much less get by on a day-to-day basis. Still sounds like you're a little bit flustered, honestly, just go with the flow and do what you think is right. It doesn't matter if nobody really needs a metallic/sci-fi tileset yet. Unlike most real-world economics, you make something here, and sooner or later someone will demand it anyway. As for studying about your art, it does help to look at some references and sketch a little, bit by bit. Take notes on how the faces and bodies are proportioned, and observe how they relate to real life or manga proportions. Sooner or later, it'll become second nature to your sketches. Don't worry though, we're all far from perfect, though I'm happy to say that I'm confident enough to create my own art style and surely, so will you. Takes some time, but if you've got time to spare, you can always look up some pretty pictures. Besides, on the topic of tilesets, it's about time we had some quality non-medieval resources. I'm sick of seeing stony castles and forests, so let's have some sci-fi thrown into the mix. Why not.
Cait 385 Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) UPDATE: Hi! I've been rather busy lately, as I look for employment, but no luck. I decided to create new signs, animated for rpg maker or whatever maker you chose to use them for. Edited May 12, 2014 by Cait
TheoAllen 830 Posted May 12, 2014 Hi, Cait. I was amazed when I looked at your galeries. There're many awesome resources, yet, it FREE! You should be awarded as Graphics Master if I may say Thanks for sharing ~
Cait 385 Posted May 12, 2014 Thanks! I added a soda machine to replace the one that I took down, but these are animated. I am not certain about the bubbles, but still might do some editing. I just love animating graphics.
ihartrpgs 148 Posted May 13, 2014 I love your graphics! Your signs look amazing. I can't wait to try them out in my game.
